Originally posted by G.D. Ryoko It would be horrible if they put Akira on toonami. It would ruin the whole thing. I am already mad about what they did to Yu Yu Haksho. They sure know how to kill good anime.
Ok, ok, enough with the Cartoon Network bashing you guys. We've had quite enough of that in this thread, much less this whole forum. The conversation goes no where, and a lot of you (note: a lot of you, not all) started watching anime there in the first place, so you should be praising them rather than hating them. Any more posts on this subject will be deleted.

An avatar can't be too small, heh. You can have 80 x 80 and smaller. But if you're saying that it looks kinda small, I wouldn't say it looks any smaller than yours, so it's okay. :) I think the file is kinda big, though. Here's another version where I cut out the fade from the last image back to the first one. EDIT: Still too big -__- EDIT AGIAN: Still too big!! EDIT AGAIN: Still too big!!!!! :flaming: EDIT AGAIN: Hey, I got it. :) But now it looks like crap. -__-

This one was a requested by Spikey over aim, but seeing as he's not online, and since I did make it with most of my own ideas, I'll show it to you all first. When he wants it, he can just come here.

:therock: Why do I get the feeling that your post had a hint of sarcasm? lol

Ack, this is going to be hard to do, since I have never been in a relationship before, so I'm not quite sure what to expect in the way of what I believe to be the "perfect partner." Bear with me here. >.< First of all, my ideal partner would not smoke, do drugs, or drink regularly. I do not do any of those things, and it is a big turn off when a girl does it. I can tolerate occasional drinking, but the rest I just can't stand. I wouldn't want them to wear too much makeup, either. I mean, sure I like some on a girl, but a lot just doesn't look good in my opinion. Generally, I don't care about the race/skin type. I've been attracted to all, but I usually seem to prefer white and asian. As for hair, this is a real broad subject; long or short, blonde or brunette. But...I can say that I'm not too attracted to red hair. Of course, whatever color or size she wears it, it should be done nicely. I really like dye, like blonde or red, but not completely dyed. It would be nice (if they dyed their hair) that it would be in streaks, or something that otherwise looks good. Eye color does not matter either, but I would preferably like blue or green, which would really add character to both her eyes and her face. For teeth, I really have to say that I fall for braces. v.v The first girl I liked had them, and I suppose it just stuck in me. Her teeth should still be relatively straight, though, and not sticking out at strange angles. If they don't have braces, that's okay because it's not manditory, but it's kind of a plus in my opinion. ^_^ And for the record, I don't have braces, so it's not as if I'm looking for a girl version of myself. o_O Other items on her face (ears, nose, and mouth) I would prefer to be normal size. Not too big, but not too small either. For her over-all body, I'm honestly looking for someone who's reletively normal. Skinny, but not too skinny, and not big. Her height would fall somewhere between...5' 6" and 5' 9". I woulnd't want someone taller than me, I suppose, and not someone really small, either. No real reason, it would just be kind of a turn-off. She should be in shape; she doesn't have to necessarily be an athlete, but maybe work out at a gym. But then, I wouldn't want a big body-builder either, with lots of muscles, since that would kind of be pulling away from her feminine look. ^_^ Now for personality...She would really just be someone I can get along with. A sense of humor is a must, hehe, and someone on the same intelligence level. For humor, I'd like it if they would laugh at my jokes, and make me laugh at theirs as well; but I would not want the laughs to be forced, however, no matter who is telling the jokes. On intelligence, I want someone who understands what I am saying, but not confuse me every time they talk. If they liked anime and gaming, it would make the relationship all for the better. ^_^ But I know how hard it would be to find someone like that, so I wouldn't hold it against them, as long as they can tolerate it. It would be nice if they did like gaming though, since it would really be great on multiplayer games. >_< Yeah...that would be awsome... On to music, I don't really care what they like. I'm not a huge music fanatic, so as long as they can get along with what I listen to every once in a while, that's okay with me. It would not be good, however, if they listened to music constantly of a genre I did not care for, because, while I can tolerate it once in a while, the relationship won't be going anywhere if we can't agree on on-going music. Do you know what I'm saying? In conclusion, I'm not really sure if there is such a woman out there, much less one who is single and would be perfect for me. *sigh* That is why, to an extent, this is not really mandatory, as long as we connect and find each other attractive both inside and out. That's all that I ask...lol
Originally posted by Yu Law man what I wouldn't do for a good PSM right now um is EGM better?? never paid them much mind
In my opinion, yes, for both the Official PlayStation Magazine and the PlayStation Magazine. I can deffinitly say that it's better than the PlayStation magazine (being thicker, easier to scroll through, and unbiased information) since my brother subscribes to it, but maybe the demo disk in Official PlayStation magazine may change my mind. :p But then, I don't remember the information as high of quality as EGM, and plus, EGM has enough PS info for anyone; I used to get it for only that, since all I had in the way of next-generation systems was PS2, and I really wanted to focus on that more than any other system.
Originally posted by keyblade Ocarina of Time is The BEST!!! Wind Waker is supposed to be a direct sequel to oOt. I wonder if its any good
Really? Because...I heard that it takes place 400 years after OoT, and instead of saving Zelda, you save Link's sister. o.o' Not the same Link, either, just another guy in green who has the same name (and probably the same blood line too). Well, we'll have to wait and see. ^_^
Originally posted by SpyderDragon If your going for mature anime (I hope)
The only thing keeping this thread open currently is the possibility that he means mature anime, such as your examples, lol. ;) I'm just going to tell you now that we do not allow conversations about Adult animes - hentai - since there are many younger individuals posting on this board. Please be more specififc. :)

The only magazine I'm subscribed to currently is a gaming one, called Electronic Gaming Monthly. I really like this magazine a lot because things are so easy to find, their reviews are unbiased, and their information is generally acurate. It helps me choose the game I really want to buy before I pay up for it, or even rent it. The acurate information keeps me up-to-date on all of the latest gaming news, and prepares me for a certain game or system. The whole magazine is great, and the letters are fun to read, but I really wish they had kept the Letter Art, which they recently discarded for some reason. Another magazine I like is NewType USA, an anime magazine. The content, visuals, and just about everything in that magazine is amazing, and it even comes with a free DVD in every issue of about 3 or so eps in a series. Problem is, a year subscription is around $90.

No, I don't sleep walk, but it really freaks me out what people may accidently do. o_O I mean, I've heard stories of where people would actually open the door to their house and walk outside. Otherwise, the only instance of sleep walking I've heard about in my family is my brother claiming that he woke up in the bath tub. As for sleep walking in general, I don't think that getting caught up in their dreams has much to do with someone sleep walking.

Yes, it all depends what kind of games you are interested in. Really like cars? Go with Gran Turismo 3. Rather go with a high-speed racing game? I'd say Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. Virtua Fighter 4 is an intense fighting game that I would recommend to anyone who likes fighting games at all; it has awsome gameplay, and is even down to $20 now. Tony Hawk's 4 would be for someone who likes extreme sports, and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is for someone who likes stealthy action games. Like I said, it really depends what kind of genres you're into.

I think that Wind Waker very well could be the best Zelda in the series. It brings the series to a whole new graphical style which aparently really fits very well together with everything in the game. In addition, the GC Legend of Zelda introduces many new techniques that will, while keeping the Zelda feel, bring about a big change for the series that won't make it too much like it's predecessors. For example, the ability to pick up enemy weapons will create a lot of replay value, and the ocean will open a whole new batch of possibitlites in the game. I really see a lot coming from this title, making it unlike any Zelda before it, which may or may not be a good thing. At this point in time, the changes look fantastic, but to make the ultimate decision, we'll all have to wait until the game is released. I have reserved my copy, for sure, hoping that this will be the best Zelda. ;) Can't say that I've ever really gotten into a Zelda title a lot, even though I own Link's Awakening, A Link to the Past, and Ocarana of Time, but I'm hoping that this will be the title that brings me over. :toothy:
Originally posted by Forgottendeth If you mean rare as in good then I would have to say .Hack.Sign. It has a good blend of gaming and anime.
I really couldn't say that .hack is a rare anime. There is a section of it on theOtaku.com, we have a thread in this forum that's gotten quite large, and the anime has even shown on Cartoon Network. I don't see it as rare at all.
Originally posted by TLOL_Vash macross is very well known really tho noticing it's been mentioned it's up there with akira for fame, hmm other good anime; Is blood the last vampire well known? it's a good one, defnately worth getting. of course a big one that's just appeared on otaku, which is obviously better known now but surprisingly un known (even when people know about it alot of them never have seen it) Trigun!! *just had to spam trigun, loves vash* EEEEEEE vash!!
First of all, I just want to say that I don't feel that Blood is very rare. I know quite a few people that have seen it, and little who havn't. Second, I really don't see why you're mentioning the other three when you know perfectly well that they're not rare. Any particular reason there?

Please put more thought into your posts; this one was difficult to read on it's own. To clarify for people who lost track, it's what you would have guessed from the title, somewhat. We are discussing the relationship between Milly and Wolfwood, and they ask the question -- what was that last person that Wolfwood wanted to be in Eden with (noted in the subtitled version), if not a baby, since it turns out that the "smoking is bad for the baby" line referred to a flashback of a previous episode. If you are in any way confused, consult the article on theOtaku.com. I still think that there is a posibility that Milly could be pregnet. Otherwise, perhaps it was no one important that wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. *shrug* I do think that this pair was the most intimate in the series though -- the couple that Trigun focused around.

1) I usually prefer books when I have the time, since there is so much more detail put into them and they are more enjoyable. Movies only are about an hour an a half; not nearly enough time to fill up all of the exciting points in a book. 2) The Harry Potter books were much better than the movies. I really didn't think the producers did a very good job of capturing most of the scenes as I saw them. *shrug* I suppose I just didn't find the movies that impressive. 3) I thought that the Perfect Storm movie was better than the book (this is the only example I can think of at the time). The movie had lots of action, romance, and excitement, but that book...couldn't keep me awake. :-/ I actually tried to do the book for a book report and ended up scatching the idea not even half way through. The book was really stale, and much too factual for my taste. 4) Deffinitly Lord of the Rings. I saw both movies, actually, before I read the books, and I already really enjoyed the series. Even though I'm only about half way through the first book, I feel that it is a masterpiece of a novel. We're really lucky that such great producers picked up this book to make into a movie. I mean, it could have turned into another Harry Potter flick.

Well, this is like the debate over the Newbie Lounge, and, as you know, it eventually had to go. People were asking why they couldn't kind of go off topic in that forum and ignore a few of the rules. The answer was pretty obvious: it sets a bad example for the rest of the forum. Even if post count is not an issue, it's still the debate of following the rules. I dunno, maybe it's completely different, but that's my take on the matter.
Originally posted by Desbreko It is still just rumors, but I've heard that Nintendo is making two Pokémon games for the GCN, one a Stadium type game and the other an RPG. Hopefully that's true.
Yeah, I heard that as well. Idealistically, both games will bring Pokemon fans what they want: Stadium-style for fans of the 64 version; and RPG style for fans of the popular GameBoy series. As for the thread, I do think that Nintendo is giving us what we want; well, I'm getting what I want, at least. They are keeping our favorite Nintendo mascot games, and have a whole batch of exclusives that set it apart from other consoles. Nintendo has given us a great system with compact hardware (especailly that great controller ;)) and a promise of taking this system to it's extreme. Is Nintendo giving us what we want? Ask all those people who bought the system for their exclusives when they already owned a PS2.

Man, I really do not like posers -- posers who are my "friends" and saying that they hate someone, but when we are around them they are like their best friend and try and make fun of me. It really pisses me off because you think you know somebody, and then they go all 180 on you. And then after the whole ordeal, they just pretend it never happened; saying that they hate that person and how the person is so stupid. I, on the other hand, am pretty much the same around everyone. I mean, when it's just me and a friend, I'll talk a lot more, and when there are three people I'll just be like the guy in the background, but I never actually change my likes and dislikes around people. There was this one time though, when GC and XBox first came out, I'd say that I don't like XBox around GC fans, and vice versa around XBox fans. Eventually, though, I came out as a fan of GC and PS2.

I think it would be kinda cool if the banner was the cut-out stuff in the middle there. :)

Last holiday I went to was to New York City last August, and it was pretty cool; no way I was prepared for such a big city. >_< This July I'm going to head over to San Diego, California for about a week and a half - a week and a half of a good vacation, but no consoles or internet. [or blue or red shirts and bandanas ¬_¬] I love vacations! Although I only go about once a year, my vacations are cool because we really go somewhere pretty far away. We've been to England, Florida, North Caralina, Cape Cod, and I'm returning to California after I visited when I was really young. They help me get away from whatever I'm doing, and give me a break from video games and other electronics [except my GBA, ha!]. I usually go to visit people, but I don't think we really know anyone over in California, other than I know a lot of you all are from there, though I don't think I'll be knocking on your doors any time soon, no offense. ^_^

Yeah, I used to get that problem after staying logged in for a long time. Eventually the problem went away; just try logging out every few days until it works.
Originally posted by vegeta rocker ours was decent compared to some of the stories i am hearing around here. We had a good sponsor who knew what he was talking about and good members who knew their stuff. In fact we never showed DBZ.
Yeah, we've never been that desperate to watch DBZ either. We've always watched decent anime, either subbed or dubbed, that at the time hadn't been shown on Cartoon Network. Every once in a while we'd talk about DBZ and others, but not necessarily the one on Toonami - DBZ in general. But even this is rare, lol.
Originally posted by Jenni purple is eh..but it isnt bad
Kind of ironic. Anyway, I can tell that you put a lot of work into the avatar, but it's not really my taste. Lines and text in front of a plain background isn't very appealing to me...but don't take it personal - this is just me. :)

Ok, I've finished modding each next-generation system. ^_^ All that's left to do now is make it into a banner and/or avatar of some sort... [watch as they get bigger ;)] I was actually going to try to make 'Sony' 'Phony', but I could never find the right text.

I've been able to stand for reality TV before, but this really makes the whole buisness look lame. There is no way I'm going to watch this, since the whole idea of getting married by votes is just retarded. If ratings keep this show up for an entire season, I'll be absolutely amazed.
