I think that's a pretty cool rap ya' got there. However, this has little to do with Trigun, and I don't see any good conversation coming of this, so I'm going to close it. People will still be able to read it, and if that isn't enough, try putting it your signature. :)

Ok guys, I think we have started to get a little off topic, seeing as almost every other post is about "Reign." This is a thread about Inuyasha, so please keep the discussion on...Inuyasha! ^_^ Thanks!
Originally posted by gokents I was an article in newsweek about the new flick and the creators said that they drew inspiration from akira and ghost in the shell. I dont know how much or exactly how... But either way, the movie looks awesome. Keanu Reeves flying... hot damn thats gonna be awesome. I will be in line to see the flick once it opens, but I dont think Im gonna go on the first day. Not with all the crap I had to deal with for lord of the rings. After that I learned my lesson.
When I first saw Ghost in the Shell, which was a long time ago, but not as long as when I first saw The Matrix, I told that it was kind of similar to The Matrix. I am thinking that it is similar because of all of the technology, and perhaps you could see that the technology is being used against the humans, well, what's left of them. As for Akira, perhaps this is where they came up with the ideas of what the One could do, with mind powers and such. To tell you the truth, it kind of looked stupid at the end when he flew into the sky. We'll have to see how they bring that into the movie, and how he uses this technique, and perhaps it will fit nicely. And when the movie first comes out, I'll be there at the front of the line top see it. It didn't stop me with The Two Towers, lol.
Originally posted by SSJ_WILLIE And I really hate to say this but I wish they wouldn't have made any sequals. In my opinion, I think that they always mess up a classic by making a sequal. I just hope they don't do that with these movies.
I feel the same way in some movies, but it really depends on the producers. Jurasic Park II...not as good as the first; The Two Towers...heck yeah!
Originally posted by Orien_Xel YAHHHHH!! MATRIX!!!!!:)
Please don't spam, and try to use more than two words in your post. This really doesn't tell us anything about your opinion, other than you like it. Why? And why do you want to see the sequals?

I really don't think that there is anything going on, other than speculation. Meryl could have a thing for Vash, though, as it is hinted when she gets all red when she talks about Vash with Millie. Otherwise, I really think that the series focuses more around Woolfwood and Millie as a couple, but I do get the feeling that they try to make the audience root for Vash and Meryl getting together. As for that episode, I'm thinking that she may have just been up all night talking with Vash, since it appears as if he would never open up to her at that point in time. Of course, this could always be one of those little hints from the producers. You never really know for sure.

Sorry about this, but OtakuBoards doesn't allow favorite topics. Maybe if you had added why you had liked you choise, but all I am seeing from this is spam. Topic closed. ^_^ -Syk3

Hmm, those are kind of tough to answer, as it involves background knowledge of producers and such. I can't name the first one, but here goes for the other two. 2. Is one of the answers Yokko Kanno? 3. False (if that last one is right, lol)
Originally posted by Matt I was just thinking of something as I was re-reading The Goblet of Fire, Harry spent all the time learning the summoning charm to summon his broom to the first task, why couldn't he have just said "Accio golden egg!" and the egg would have zoomed right to him. He would have been done in like 4 seconds.
Yeah, like Asuka said, that would just make the book shorter and the task basically too easy. I wouldn't necessarily say that Rowling forgot about that, but she made it harder on purpose, and I think it was more suspenseful with the Firebolt.
Originally posted by Darkmoon Yeah... that's one of the things I wondered too... Another is why didn't they use a truth potion on Sirus Black before throwing him into Azkaban? Everybody knew how good a friend he was that that he couldn't have possibly betrayed Lily and James Potter.
Well, in the days of He Who Must Not Be Named, they were just trying to throw all of his supporters into Azkaban as soon as possible. It seemed like a murder of an innocent man, with tons of muggle witnessess, and they really didn't need any other proof. In fact, I doubt they knew about the friendship between Sirius and James.

*sigh* I had hoped this wouldn't happen. Although I tried to make the discussions more intelligent, I fully respect your decision.

Hey hey, best graphic designer! Didn't see that one coming, but congrats to the runner up, Kinetic. Conngradulations to everyone who won! :)
Originally posted by Kinetic When I turn 15 though, I'm applying for a job at Six Flags.
That's not a bad idea. I'm 15 and I go to Six Flags in the summer all the time anyway, so I might as well take up a job there. As for work, the only thing I've ever done is do work for my mom, and she pays me for it too. :)

The first was better? That's no good, I heard the first was kind of crappy.

I started watching this at about 10, when my mom's friend called to tell us about it. At first, I didn't believe it when my dad said "The Shuttle exploded." In my head I was replacing the word "shuttle" with "brother's lego space ship." o_O Of course, I then went upstairs and heard the terrible news. I didn't know that this could happen, but... It's like Challenger all over again, except the exact opposite. I just find it pathetic that such a thing can happen after putting millions of dollars into a space craft, and that after all these years, there is always something that can go wrong. This is a terrible tragedy and my heart goes out to the families of these astonauts.

My friend has a couple of Katanas. They're real, and suposedly pretty expensive, but he barely ever takes them out of their holsters. When he does, however, he has a little fight with his younger brother. -__- None of them have gotten hurt...yet. I don't think I'll ever get one though. I'd pay a lot of money for it, and it will end up just stashed away. Any time that I can actually think I'll use it is if someone breaks into my house, and what are the odds of that? Bah, I'm better off putting that money toward something educational...like video games. :)
Originally posted by Nats Although i havent seen DBGT I fink vat what u have written is not true cos i fink vat Goku was getting so powerful vat his body sort of needed 2 go SSJ4 so in order 2 do so he needed a tail ven v kai saw wot was happening he tried 2 pull Gokus tail out quiker so Goku could turn SSJ4 quiker in order 2 turn fings (almost) back 2 normal.
Er...come again? Please try and use a higher quality of grammer so that we can read your posts. I believe that, from my understanding, the old Kai pulled out Goku's tail as he was SSJ3, trying to power up, which would put him in the Golden Oozaru stage. There, as everyone knows, Pan reminds him of who he is and slowly he goes into his SSJ4 form.

I saw it as well, and recorded it. ;) Overall, it was pretty good. The animation was the smoothest I've ever seen in a series, but there wasn't too much action. I suppose that's a good thing though, to take a break from constant fighting and focus more on the story at hand. I'm with Jinzo in the sense that they should have provided more background information. Granted, the series has yet to unfold, but in my position, I would have really liked to see how he got into the World and such. They play out the first episode like your suposed to know what's going on. On the other hand, it's kind of cool that they do that, and then axplain the background later on. We shall see...
As for that end scene, I thought that was really cool and mysterious, as it's impied that she went unconscience from playing in The World. At first, I guess I wasn't looking at the face too well, and thought that it may have been the kid who was stuck. Thanks for clearing that up, James.

Originally posted by BigCajones Oh I do lol, but the snow melts through my stupid gloves still leaving my hands frozen and my hands are extremely cold to touch in normal climates, so below naught degrees centigrade they are like icicles, and they radiators are usually being hogged by people lol, :p but that won't help a great deal. I'm prepared to go through this agonizing treatment for the sake of snow's rare occurrence where I live! I'll survive don't worry :naughty:
>.< Man, I hate it when it does that. It's like your wearing gloves for no reason, so I try to search for water-proof gloves.
Originally posted by OutlawDragon I don't think you could have a whole new series of how Jim and Gene met, although it may make a pretty good flashback episode. But I think they should continue on with the series, add new faces, new challenges, new ships, etc... Ah I think I should go back and watch OLS again. Memories....
Lol, nah, I don't mean that they should make a whole series out of it, but at least they could hit on it a little bit in an episode. It's deffinitly something to think about.
Originally posted by BigCajones 1. Yes it's bloody cold lol, and after throwing millions of snow balls your hand ache alot (frozen and stiff)!
Heh, of course it's cold, but in some cases it's better than a heat wave since you can go outside in the cold and still be warm if you wear a lot of clothes. In the summer, you can't wear something that is going to make you cold, lol, unless you drench your clothes in water. Try wearing gloves when throwing snow balls next time. :)
-
You know, that's a really good question you've brought up. I think that they should add a little more about Jim's past, and note how him and Gene teamed up in the first place. I thought it was kind of weird how they were just...there. Otherwise, although I cannot believe it, I still have not finished watching the last few episodes, even though I've owned the DVD since early October. o_O I'll get back to you on who I think may be killed off.
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh i don't like her just because she looks stupid.
Are you saying that you don't like her, only because she looks stupid? Or that you don't like her just because she looks stupid, implying that there is more about her that makes her likable? Bah, I'm confusing myself. Well, yesterday was the first episode I saw of Dragonball in a LONG time, and by coincidence, I happen to see Buba. She is made out more evil in Dragonball, but I think Toriyama made her nicer in Dragonball because with all of the bad guys now, there is really no point in the "good guys" fighting together.

Yay! Go snow; we got off two hours early yesterday, and we got a two hour delay this morning. But I didn't even have time to finish my homework...

Yeah, I saw it on the Pulse too. I first heard about it a while ago, and I thought it was really disqusting. How low can you be to tell your child that they are going to die? I think it's one of the worst forms of child abuse, even though it wouldn't come off as such, but I can't say that it's the worst fraud ever. It's a pretty bad one though, I'll tell you that.

Lol, this should be interesting. Our feelings be hurt? Hmm, sounds to me like we've got a dubbed newbie on our hands. Just asking why we like anime is probably the stupidest question to ask in this forum. I can go on forever in why anime is different from cartoons, and why there is no one that should be unhappy if they only knew how far it goes. First of all, gore is hardly anything that comes to mind when comparing cartoons to anime. While this may be true, it is only because of the long list of restrictions on the part of American television, which has aparently turned into something that is edited in the case of young children possibly watching that show at the time. When you compare anime to things like Rugrats or something, there is really no comparison. What Japanese animation does for us is create a world not too much unlike our own, but with a very strong story, a great style of animation, and with tons of different genres to choose from. These genres include things like romance, action, adventure, sci-fi, humor, horror...the list could literally go on forever. The story itself, for the most part, is very strong and really sucks you in, so much in fact that you really feel for characters when they die or something. Compared to cartoons and live-action, you could really care less. The sweet style of animation aparent in all anime seals the package. Am I right in assuming that you've only been exposed to the likes of Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Dragonball Z? In the anime world, even most of us dislike those shows, and if you want to get a taste of real anime, try watching things like Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and .hack//SIGN, but without the washed out versions on Cartoon Network. And may I also suggest watching subbed versions? That way, you can hear the original dialogue that was meant for the show. You may even like manga, which is kind of like anime comics. I think that pretty much covers it. Next time, don't judge something like anime on those few bad ones shown on Cartoon Network. Otherwise, we've really overly discussed why we like/dislike anime in the past, and I see arguing coming from this thread, but I'm willing to give this thread a chance. Be sure to please explain what you think about anime in regards to American cartoons.
