Why do I have the feeling that someone is going to say that when they see my name, they see "Sky"?
-
Probably taking his temperature. Making sure he's okay, that sort of thing. Otherwise it's just ome medical thing checking something to make sure he's not ill inside.
-
I know one thing they could do - make EGM look silly and actually put Sonic and Tails in there. Hey, it could happen; SONIC team isn't held to a single console, and GCN has been the one getting their games...

Ah, yes, Pet Shop of Horrors. I saw that a while ago at my anime club, and I really liked it. I can't say that I've seen many horror animes, so this one was cool to watch. That would totally freak me out to have a pet in the image of a dead love one. ::shudders::
Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! EXACTLY. They will hate all anime because they think that DBZ is the best thing that ever happened to them and they don't want to think that anything else is good.....well, there are so many different things I just don't know where to start.
::sigh:: No, No, let me rephrase that. People will hate all anime including Dragonball Z and Pokemon because they think those shows are all anime is good for - nothing. They are too thick headed to understand that there are other good genres of animes that they may like. :whoops:
Originally posted by Cyko Hey now, simmer down. I happen to like Dragonball/Z/GT a whole lot. One of my favorites in fact. At first I thought this thread was going to bash DBZ and all it's fans. But after reading a bit more carefully, I think this thread is just bashing people who think they are Otakus when they have only explored DB/Z/GT. Do you hate DB/Z/GT fans even if they know they are not an otaku? Just curious. Anyway, it's true that DB/Z/GT lacks a bit in plot. But that isn't the only thing needed to make a great show. Seinfeld (spelling) had no plot and it was one of the best shows on network television. It has goos animation for it's time. Some slightly deep characters. Plus great action. Story isn't everything. And no likinbg DB/Z/GT doesn't make me a stupid little dubbie. I have explored many other great anime/manga. So what do all you DBZ fan haters say to that? Note: I am spurring discussion not insulting anyone.
Hey, I agree. I like DBZ to an extent (I used to be absolutely obessed with it) and this thread is not bashing the show; it's bashing people who will only watch that anime out of god knows how many are out there, who think that since they watch that one show, they are suddenly otaku's and are gurus of anime. The same would go for someone like that in Yu-Gi-Oh, or Pokemon, or even Sailor Moon. o_O
Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! I totally agree with you. Just because someone like DBZ they think they rule the world of anime or something.....0_o And it's SO true. Every anime is different and unique in it's own way. NOTHING I know of or any other series are like DBZ. It's just all those major DBZ fans out there that tell everyone that because they think that DBZ is the best thing in the whole world.
Yeah, and that brings me to another point. Some people will do exactly the opposite; they will hate all anime because they think Dragonball completely sums it up. That and Pokemon. It's gone so far that when someone mentions the word "anime," they get a reponse such as "oh, you mean Pokeman and Dragonball Z?" Of course, we know that there are countless other genres and animes other than those, but others are perhaps too stupid to see that. Sorry if that sounds mean, it's just that is pisses me off when people judge all of anime over two shows. Doesn't make sense to me. o_O
Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! I liked the movie, but not enough to tune into a PM series. If it really is true that they're making a PM TV series, that won't last very long. I doubt that it would ever get popular.
Lol, I'm sure it will be popular at first. The movie wasn't that bad, and the title alone will get a lot of people to watch it. Then it will go from there; whether it will turn out to be a good or bad series.
-
Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! But a PM series?!? Where did you hear that from?
I'd actually like to know myself, and find out if such a thing is really in progress. It sounds like a good idea, but they're taking the chance of ruining the Princess Mononoke title. And if there really is going to be a series, what does that make the movie? An OVA? As for the movie itself, I've seen it, and I doubt I would call it a rare anime, since most everyone here has seen it. o_O
Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! I never got to see the ending of DBGT....but I've seen pictures. I think I've only seen like 1 or 2 episodes and that was like a long time ago. Most of the info I get on the series that I actually beleive are big websites. And CB....like I said before, I was tearing, not crying like a baby, but I had a few tears roll down my face. And can you beleive that the series has ONLY 26 episodes?!? That's not very much.
That may not be lot compared to some of the anime you've seen, but it's actually the standard for most anime. I'd say a good 65-70% of all anime is composed of 26 episodes. On another note, we're straying off-topic with DBGT and whatnot, so please stop. :whoops: I thought the ending was sad, sure, but I can't say that I actually cried over it. That's not to say I've never, erm, teared up during an anime before. All those flashbacks in Trigun, where that guy was dead, and Vash's brother was all happy, and Vash was crying, and then that big explosion, with that weird music...um, yeah. o_O Yuuup, let's try to stay on topic...

Anime *Dances around* I finally got it!!!!!!
Syk3 replied to Yu Yu Hakusho!'s topic in Otaku Central
Cool. ^_^ I really want it as well, but I doubt I will find it. In any case, this could probably just be put in the seperate Shonen Jump thread, which you can find here. Enjoy. :whoops: -Syk3 -
For my last birthday about three months ago, I just got money...lots...of money. I used that to buy the entire seasons of Trigun, Outlaw Star, and Neon Genesis Evangelion, and still had some left over. Well, at least most of it went to a worthy cause.

I don't think my school makes as big a deal out of clothes as other schools. Personally, I really don't see how the type of clothes you wear puts you into a specified group of people. >.> In any case, most people dress normally where I go. You don't see many gothic or punk type dressers, other than a small handfull. But yeah, I agree that there is virtually no point in trying to impress others with the way you dress, since you'll be out of school in a few years and have worked so hard to impress other for nothing; no one will care. I'll dress how I want to dress, and if you want to make a big deal out of it, that's your problem.
Originally posted by {SITH} Change What jerks they are...oh well, I have coencidently and sitting on the japanese version with the scenes, suprisingly it spruces up the serise more than it normaly is. It sorrta fills in the gaps. Plus more fan service. BTW, I noticed that Evangelion is not a big topic arround here, this semes to be the only topic. i hate to make another seperate topic since this one has already been delt with, but what did you all think of the ending of Evangelion (the movie End of Evangelion, not the series)? What a downder.
>.< Man, I wish I saw the deleted scenes... Anyway, you'd be surprised how popular Evangelion is around here. I'm surprised that there isn't a seperate sub-forum, even though yes, we have very few topics. In any case, I was going to expect that the ending cleared up a few things, but it just made the whole thing more confusing. Bah, I probably didn't pay enough attention to it, what with the movie being subbed and all, and I'll be watching it thuroughly some time. Otherwise, I was glad that the movie actually had a plot, rather than Death and Rebirth which just summarized the confusing parts of the series, and started on the plot which is just completely re-shown in End of Evangelion. I really wish that Eva had stuck with what they were doing in the beginning of the series, instead of making it confusing and getting into such things as religion and God and whatnot.
Originally posted by Cyke I would hate her, too... if she existed. o_O
Hehehe, I guess he ment her aunt, Haruka Urashima. Oh yeah, and you stole my name! Lol, at least, they are pronounced the same. Now I wish I was "Cyk3" so people wouldn't call me Sky. o_O I actually just got the series subbed, and I'm half way through the second DVD, out of three DVDs total. Then I'm probably going to want to get the movies. >.<
Originally posted by TFlover Yes yes! it was 'Toys in the Attic'!!! Thanks! Um.. yeah you're right, but for some reason i still love that episode. And ok yeah... stupid question but... is Ed a boy or girl? Because if Ed is a girl, then why does she have a boy's name? And if Ed's a boy, why does he act like a girl?
Lol, not that this is on topic, but Ed is no doubt a girl. It was told many times throughout the series, and even in the movie. The reason Ed is named Ed is because she named herself. Edward Wong Hau Peplu Tivrusky the fourth (scary memory, huh?) is the full name she dubbed herself. Otherwise, if her father had named her that, it's because he pays so little attention to his daughter that he is unsure of the sex, himself.
Originally posted by TFlover hhmmmm.... let me see. I don't really remember which session it was, but it was the one from yesterday. (the one where Ed (sp?) ate the black blob thingy and called it 'pudding' lol) i loved that episode.
You probably ment Episode #11: Toys in the Attic (don't be alarmed, my brain does that after I summarize all the episodes in a series >.

Yeah, Sponge Bob is indeed halarious. Although, I'm pretty sure that there was an earlier topic like this. Ah, well, that's a pretty old topic as it is. Lol, that was a really funny episode, especially the hay in the needle stack part. ^_^ Come to think of it, though, I havn't seen the show in a while. o_O
Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! How come I don't know all of this and you guys do?!?
That's a funny question, lol. Which, I might mention, seems like you are just saying to get in another post. o_O In any case, it's either because we... 1) Research and buy anime online 2) Have a store near us that sells anime or 3) Have an organized anime club in our school at which people bring lots of different animes As for me, I'm a 1 and a 3. Hey, that rhymes...
-
Hey, let's try to keep to the subject at hand, shall we? Stop the arguing; we have plenty of other threads that discuss the dubbed/subbed relationship. I really won't mind if TechTV edits these animes for pupblic television. It's when they start screwing with the dialogue and cutting entire scenes when it becomes an issue. Ah, well, we'll see when it is released, which I hope is soon. >.<

Depending on wheather its used or not, and the game itself, but still...:therock:
Heh, funny thing...I got three video games, but my parents had pretty much maxed out on spending money, so when they made me choose one of the three to take back to the store, I just bought it with my own money from them. LOL
Originally posted by genkai Cool, it's snowing.. it was raining this morning.
Yeah, same here. That counts as a white Christmas...right?!
Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! I just started celebrating last year anyway....
Yeah, I believe that you would give more thought to it and enjoy it more if you had celebrated when you were a baby. To other religions, it probably seems pretty silly. ;)

Although, I can tell you that it has come very quickly this year. In any case, I really want to open my presents, and see the look on my family's faces when they see what I got them.
