Er, I open them on Christmas day. I suppose it just makes more sense, and Christmas isn't there so that you open the gifts the day before. It's a single day, so celebrate it then, and it's not like Christmas isn't far from Christmas Eve night; you just go to sleep and wake up and it's Christmas, lol. :D

I can't say that I've searched for my gifts, but I have a pretty good idea of what I am getting. In previous years, I'd go looking for presents, but I've realized that I would much rather be surprised when the time comes. In any case, I bet I'll be getting a few video games this year, not a lot though since I got my new computer as an early Christmas present. >.<

Why am I an Otaku? Well, can't say that I am. I like anime, sure, but I'm not overly obsessed with it and devote my life to it. In the General Anime section, I told about how I got into anime; by watching DBZ. I came here first, rather than theOtaku. Back in June of 2001, I was looking for DBZ pictures to draw, and I just got annoyed of OtakuBoards coming up as a search result, since there were no pics on the main page in site, just a lot of words and links. ;) I started posting, figuring out forums, and then learned about theOtaku from there. Now, a year and a half later, I work there...and here as well. ^_^ My devotion to OtakuBoards is the atmosphere. Everyone is so nice, and spamming is controlled, and numerous other things that make it my favorite forum on the net. :)

1) I'm going to go...outside of my bedroom. o_O 2) I'm probably going to play the video games that I have until Christmas, at which point I will play my new video games, hehehe. 3) I celebrate it by waking up at 3:00 am (don't ask me, I automatically get up then on Christmas, or my 'lil bro wakes me up) and organize the presents until my parents get up. They watch us open them, we stick them in the PS2 regardless of whether or not it's a video game (hehehe), and play them. 4) My whole immediate family comes over and we have a Christmas dinner and whatnot.
Originally posted by Mitth'raw'nuruodo Look at the attachment, need I say more? They are some good looking characters.
Yup, yup, yup. ::gets the series:: You have to see them when they're angry, though. Ouch. o_O

I thought that they should have showed the meeting between Jim and Gene. That was a real downfall for me in the first episode that they simply came off as friends.
Originally posted by Cyko I read a pretty big article about it in the newest Anime Invasion. I downloaded it a while back, but I never really got a chance to watch it all the way through. I did see the beggining and the end though. I had almost no clue what was going on because it didn't have any subtitles. In a day or so I am going to download a version with subtitles. The last fight between Vincent and Spike is amazing though. :smoke: I can't wait untill I get to watch it all the way through. :D
I really like the first fight, but you might have missed that seeing as that was in the middle. You won't be disapointed when you download it, subbed. ;)
Originally posted by BigCajones Can someone tell me (someone who has seen the film) is it worth watching, because if not then i will save my money up! Thanks ... Well, I guess I just asked for a few video games. Not much after my new computer! ::hugs early Christmas present:: Phew, in any case, I actually bought some stuff for my family this year. No, I'm greedy, I just don't have my learners permit yet, much less my liscnese, so it's not like I could sneak out of the house with me being in the middle of no where. Anywho, I got my brother the first season of Malcom in the Middle, my dad a pump for cars and bikes and whatnot, and I got my mom some pajamas and a pen. Merry Christmas, indeed. o_O

Heh, I was just playing around Matt. Had a lot of time, etc. Anyway, the dwarf (;)) seemed to have a much bigger role, and played a large part in
comic relief
. Heh, it was pretty funny. :D

Wow, those are amazing drawings. I really like the soft kind of shadding you put into the Inuyasha one, and as for Rikku; well, she's just my favorite character in FFX. >.< Welcome to the OtakuBoards and to staff. Hope you can help us a lot in graphic design, and understand the deadlines, lol. Don't ask... >.>
Originally posted by Shyguy Heh, that episode is titled "Jamming with Edward". It is session 9, or something like that. I'm not entirely sure though, hmm. -Shy
Yup, exactly. Session #09 : Jamming with Edward. The episode doesn't exactly stand out in my mind, but at least that means I didn't particularly hate it.

Well, I saw it; opening day. Me who thought I would never see it. --; First let me give you some background information. ;) I wasn't actually supposed to see the movie. I was going to go to anime club, but since my mom was kind of sick, I came home in case she was so sick that I wouldn't have a ride home. My brother and dad were already at the theatre, and it was starting time when my mom went to drop me off. And then when it ended, I couldn't find my dad in time and...yeah, they left without me, without knowing I was even there. I actually really
liked
movie. I thought that it was so
good
, that it was even
better
than the last one. I especially
liked
the part when they
fought in that big war
. I'm not going to spoil the movie for someone who actually wants to see this, so I won't say any more.
Originally posted by vegeta rocker Bebop is one of the few series that even the filler episodes end up on favorite lists. I still say that Ballad of.... is the best.
Yeah, the filler episodes arn't too bad. They seem to actually have a lot of them, too, since only a handfull actually have to do with the plot. Oh, and the title is "Ballad of Fallen Angels."
Originally posted by Axel--Ignition So, when is the good action coming?
Hmm, not sure. I'm waiting for enough people to put in their AIM names so that we can have a decent topic on AIM chat. I really don't want to spam up this thread too badly. --;

I wasn't actually planning on seeing this movie. Why? Well, I really didn't like LotR at a glance; midevil times, bow and arrows. Ahh, I thought the idea wasn't too hot. Well, about a week ago, I decided to watch the first movie. I've had it on DVD for a while now (my brother's) but hadn't got around to watching it. After watching it, however, I've grown to understand it and respect it. I will deffinitly be catching the next title. :)

DuoMax, please try to stay on topic and don't SPAM. Thanks. I really liked the movie, but if that was all I was going to say, I might as well have put it in my old thread about "Die Another Day." I think this is the best plot in a Bond movie since Goldeneye. It was action-packed, as are all Bond movies, but it had a taste of unpredictability. I really couldn't believe all of plot twists in that movie, making it all for the better. I was very happy with the result of this entire plot. Let's hope they can keep it up in future titles...
Originally posted by Mr Roboto also, does anyone have any information on hack.//liminality
Liminality? Is that some sort of sequal to .hack//SIGN? Just when I thought that series were made quickly, they come out with a sequal to one only a month after the first comes out. o_O
Originally posted by Chaz $ I'll tell you what to do, download the episodes. -Chaz $
Well, some people may not have the time or space to download the episodes. For another thing, that process is illegal, and OtakuBoards frowns on piracy. Perhaps RoseofDawn was just curious. I don't know, but in any case, I believe that this topic has already been answered in addition to having little to do with Cowboy Bebop itself, and no longer needs to remain open anyway. :)
Originally posted by Yoshi If your gonna talk about humorous episodes you gotta mention Cowboy funk, Black mushroom Samba, and Toys in the Attack (and anything remotely related to Ed and Ein) Yahoo Id: Bardtm AIM Handle: Screature2 rpgs and officials and website and all that are nice and all, but first things first. Then we can be flowerchildren and... bebops... and spacecowboys... Yeah i see BANG! ...as if...:bawl:
Hey, it's great to have your instant messenger handels, but have you signed up yet? (Note the first post in the thread) As for humorous episodes, I can't say that I agree with you on Toys in the Attic. It didn't seem to really set off a comedic tone, but more so mysterious and whatnot. But yeah, Mushroom Samba was a great episode for comedy; one of my favorites in fact. :)

Go to school...on Christmas break? What does this guy think he's doing? It will probably fall through anyway, but in case it doesn't, just don't go. :) If you can convince your parents to let you stay home, good, but if not, I wouldn't go anyway. This is coming from someone who has never skiped school in his life, but having to go to school on Christmas? I believe that's morally wrong, and it's not the presents that get you off of school, lol, that guy is a dumbass, it's the religious holiday. What he should have realized, is that he should just take off days from the end of school, which is most ligical, or one or two from Spring Break. That's what my county is doing. EDIT:Glad they changed it, even though I still don't think they should have taken away from Christmas break.

Socially, school is great. I get to see most of my friends, talk about stuff, and it helps make life less boring. We have clubs like Anime Club where you can chat with people around your age that like anime, and obviously watch some. As for the subjects, I deffinitly could do without them. Of course, I don't really like to get something for free usually without doing any work to pay it off, so it may be a good thing. I just struggle with some of the subjects and am not a fan of homework. Although we may try to convince ourselves that we hate school, it is just a spur-of-the-moment reaction to some work that we don't feel like doing. I'm sure that if we were introduced to a life without school, we would be able to accept it better.

Hmm, about time I gave my opinion on, erm..."Americanime." I can't say that I really agree that American animation is what is technically "anime." Now, hear me out. I believe that the actual description of anime comes from the term Japanese Animation; the two are pretty much interchangable. The feeling given off by Japanese animation is very distinct and different than the cartoons in America. Why? Well, I think that TechTV explains it much better than I ever could:
Although it's easily identified by its distinctive visual style, anime knows no boundaries. It's not merely a style of animation but a genre unto itself where you may find sophisticated science fiction, fantasy adventure, romantic comedies, and even wrenching drama. Anime sets itself apart from Western animation by exploring depths of character and contortions of plot. Despite their deficiencies, anime characters are beholden to their desires, their hopes, and their dreams. Happy endings can happen but are not guaranteed, and actions always have consequences.
Is America trying to compete with the Japanese animation market? Sure, but the basis for this will most always be confined under the editing for American viewers on network television. I don't think that they would get that detailed in plot and character as well, since their aim would be for younger individuals. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't mind a lot of the cartoons in America, but I can't begin to compare them to Japanese Animation, which is what I call anime.
