Johnny honestly deserved that. for your travesty you get this. That's how we terrorists do.

Anywho, I didn't think R2vq's captions were funny at all >_< Allamorph's trophy hath been pilfered
Well, I am pleased that you've felt strongly enough about personal bias to speak out on such occasions, but I don't believe that your concern applies in this case, since the judge always changes. Personally, I preferred
Ikillion's
, but I wasn't the judge. I don't think Johnny Justjohhny has any problems with the decision.
Further, I think it's clear to everyone that their mothers dress them funny.
But are their mothers hamsters, and do their fathers smell of elderberries? As to future attacks, I think we can handle Ross Perot, and quite possibly even Ralph Nader. (I swear he ran for the Oval Office against Abraham Lincoln.) Bob Dole, on the other hand.... ...it'll be iffy. 'Cause Bob Dole is an important man. And Bob Dole knows ... things. Bob Dole. Bob Dole.

Groups 1 & 2
?All right,? Oromis started, after spending a few seconds in silence. ?We?re getting out of this.? He spoke loudly, projecting his voice so that he wouldn?t need to yell constantly. He?d need it for a long while yet. The others were visibly relieved. Mary started to shout her thanks and encouragement across the room, but a glare from Oromis subdued her, and she deflated a little. Even from that distance, Oromis Tu?wail still managed to be very imposing. ?We?re getting out of this,? he continued at the same volume, looking intently back to the keys, ?but if we do this, we do this my way.? He glanced around, making direct eye contact with each of the others, his expression brooking no dissent. When he found none, he again returned to studying the keys. Unconsciously, his left arm crossed his chest, and his right moved to rest on the left?s wrist; his right hand made a loose fist, and he grasped his lips between his thumb and forefinger. His eyes occasionally flicked around, resting on the keyholes, the teleporter, and various spots around the room. Oromis remained in this position for some time, long enough that Julian began to feel anxious. The student called across the room. ?Don?t you think we should try to hurry up? What if there?s a time limit?? ?There isn?t.? Julian was surprised at the snap, terse answer, but he wasn?t convinced. ?How do you know?? ?Because,? Oromis replied evenly, ?the platforms haven?t lost any more pieces. This is trial and error, but with team communication skills and pattern recognition added in. As we make mistakes, we lose ground. The objective is to not make mistakes.? Julian felt a little silly. He should have recognized the situation; it was like one of those exercises they gave on aptitude tests back at school. He decided that Oromis probably knew what he was doing, and he let the matter be. After a few more minutes, Oromis? hand dropped away from his face. ?All right. I?m going to talk us through this the whole way. I want us to survive, but I also want you to understand what I?m telling you to do so you don?t hesitate. ?First, I want us all to straddle two tiles. We can touch the same tiles, but I?d prefer it if we only had one in common. Here?s why: we aren?t guaranteed that the next time we screw up, the tile in front of the panel won?t drop. If a tile you?re standing on starts to drop, you?ll feel it, and you?ll be able to step onto the other tile easily.? After they had positioned themselves, he continued. ?I?m going to start describing a shape to you. I want you to look at all your keyholes and tell me if the shape matches. If it does, I?ll send the key with that image through. When you?ve got all five keys, we?ll switch. You?ll call out shapes, and I?ll tell you if they match. Make sure that you describe the shapes as precisely as possible. Are we clear?? Julian nodded. ?We?re clear!? he shouted. ?Good. Let?s get started.? Oromis handed the failed key to Lucia and picked up one of the ten in front of him. ?This one is intricate, so we?ll start with it. It has a square for a border. The square encompasses a circle and triangle overlaid onto each other, so that edges of the circle and the points of the triangle touch the sides of the square. Inside the triangle two more triangles set on each other to make a six-pointed star?? ?A Star of David!? Julian cried. ?Mary, do you see that shape anywhere?? ?No,? she answered, a little sadly, ?wait?yes! Here in the center!? She frowned. ?It?it has some funny lines near the outside. There?s always a crescent moon between the square and the circle, and everywhere else is wavy. Does that match?? ?Yes,? Oromis called. ?Good. I thought so.? He sent the key through the transporter. Nothing happened on either side. Julian retrieved the key from the console and placed it sideways on the panel, so he could distinguish it from the other nine keys. Oromis took up another key. ?This one?s not quite as complicated?.? They spent a long time this way, calling shapes back and forth across the chasm. There were mistakes, naturally ? mostly Julian?s. He?d ask for a key before Oromis was done describing it, or he?d miss some small detail that made the difference between the right key and the almost-right key, which, unfortunately, was still the wrong key. Once, he got it the other way around, and he had to go all the way back through his rejected keys to find the fifth that Oromis and Lucia needed. Lucia eventually noticed Julian placing the keys up out of the way, and when she mentioned it to her companion, the head-hunter told Julian to use them as soon as he got them, to make sure they were right. Each time they turned the right key, it glowed and disappeared, and the symbol on the keyhole lit up. They finished with everyone still intact, despite a few near-falls here and there. At the end, Julian and Mary?s platform had four squares left on it, and Oromis and Lucia had five. Julian wasn?t too surprised, having expected Oromis to perform much better than he. After the last key had been turned, the control panels disappeared, and the platforms floated to the center of the room and recombined into another three-by-three square. Mary squealed and immediately launched herself happily at Lucia, almost knocking the two of them off the platform with her enthusiastic hug. Oromis raised one eyebrow, and the corner of his mouth twitched briefly; Julian was the only one to notice the rare display of amusement. Congratulations. The foursome turned to the wall the Panopticon?s voice had sounded from. A large screen was descending to their level. All subjects have performed well. No fatalities were sustained, and the obstacle was overcome. Again, congratulations. Mary cheered. Julian and Lucia grinned at each other. Oromis didn?t move. Since the subjects have performed well, they will be granted an advantage from the Panopticon. The massive screen flickered to life. On it, videos of the other players came into view. The subjects may select another participant. That participant will be terminated. The women gasped, and Oromis? eyes hardened. Select a subject for termination. Julian stared at the screen in shock. He had to pick someone else to die? That was cruel, that was inhuman, that was?just wrong. He couldn?t do it. He just couldn?t. ?It would be best,? Oromis said quietly, ?if we chose someone we weren?t familiar with.? ?What?!? Julian cried, appalled. ?You expect us to just kill some random person we?ve never seen before?? ?Would you rather kill someone you already knew?? Silence enveloped them for a few interminable seconds as the gravity of his terrible words sank in, broken at length by Mary, who?d started to whimper. Julian glanced at the two girls. Mary was pressing herself into Lucia, transfixed by the images on the screen. Lucia held an arm protectively around her; she caught Julian?s eye and slowly, painfully shook her head, mouthing a silent plea. No. Not me. Please no. Oromis stared fiercely at the wall. Julian doubted he could convince the man to talk, much less make the onerous decision. He sighed. It was in his hands, then. He faced the screen again. ?That one,? he said at last, pointing. ?The one on the big man?s back.? She looked in the worst condition of those around her. Julian reasoned that she might not be missed as much if she were gone. The reply was instant, harsh. Invalid selection. Subject?s consciousness has already been terminated. Choose another subject for termination. The repetition of the order made it worse. Julian?s mouth went dry, and he felt a lump rising in his throat. His mind began racing in panic. He chose randomly; he didn?t realize what he had said until he heard it strike the air. ?The dark-haired woman.? His voice sounded weak and unsteady, like he was about to cry. Subject Eliana Cedes selected for termination. Congratulations. On the screen, Eliana?s body glowed and was gone. A scream came from above them. Their heads jerked up, and they were greeted with the sight of Eliana Cedes as she plummeted, flailing, from the top of the room towards the floor. Time seemed to slow down, and Eliana?s terrified scream hung in the air for what seemed an eternity, until she finally plunged into the black acid below.
--------------------------------- OOC: Oooh, the insidiousness.
*poke* My cruel nature? Pfft! Anyway oh lurker, I have killed so what's stopping you or Allamorph for that matter? Hmmm? So get cracking you two so we can start the next chapter!

In fact, if they don't use their death cards by Wednesday I'll repeal them and start the next chapter. You guys better lay them on down, I'm getting antsy.
Cripes!, people. Any of you guys could have posted random bits of fillers while we were waiting for the other two players (to be erased), and then I go to sleep for for the afternoon before I work and you two are already harping at me? It's not yet been a full day, milady. At least allow me time to think, or I shall start quoting Christopher Robin at you. And then I shall taunt you a second time. (Have we reached Scene 23 yet?) Anyway, I shall be posting forthwith. Please don't interfere. (DB, that means you. Everyone else is fine. :p )

I should like to be called Shades. It's a nickname I picked up about three years ago (because of my tendency to forget I'm wearing them), and it's the only nickname I've let stick. And Ploppy, are you sure you didn't leave out an 'L' in his name? :p

AAARRRGGH. Nadia's dead. Here I was hoping to see if someone ever noticed they'd even switched, and now Nadia's dead. Drat. And all my plans are foil't. Bother. Humbug. Ah, well. At least we can keep moving now. Oh, and thanks, DB. That makes me quite happy. (Honestly, that meant that when I read the compliment, I turned and grinned happily at my sister's Jack Russell, who promptly let out a whimper and skittered back to her bed. That made me, for some reason, even happier. Perhaps I should do it more often. :D ) On with the wanton slaughter!

Just thought I'd get this thread back on the radar, since it was buried and all. After all, we might need it. :animesmil Oh, and if I don't use all of my posts every chapter, please don't worry. The Hound isn't much of a socialite.... ...heh. -
It's not like Allamorph who lurks. *pokes*
It's funny, because I get to watch you poke the air from where I'm not standing anymore. <_< >_> ^_^
And speaking of you Allamorph, I like how you had the part in your last post that was like some program was running. It reminded me of my programming classes I took.
Well, since DB told us the P is overseen by two ESP entities, and since both the erasure and the execution of Delirium Trigger were set up as sub-programs, I thought that the P at least approximated AI, and as such would naturally have an automated self-diagnostic system. I'm pleased it went over well with at least one player. Yeah, and I kind of want to get moving as well. Right now I am hampered in both RPs I've joined because of members who haven't/can't get online.

Heh. Why the devil not. 1.) A little groggy, if I can be so frank. I just woke up about an hour and a half ago, so.... Yeah. Graveyard shiftwork is futzing with my hours. I am slowly becoming more of a vampire than I already was. (Sunlight makes me sneeze. It also really burns my sinuses, and in summer it sometimes hurts just to stand outside. Sucks that its summer right now, hunh?) 2.) Nothing's happening all that much over here, either. So I decided I'd start watching Fate/stay Night. End of story.
Spambots can be easily configured to post a few times before creating a thread. Sorry to burst your bubble, kids.[/color']

...to make a thread/ post they'd have to type in one of those things that prevent automated signups, "text in the box" I think is what they call it.[/B']
With that in mind, why not just use the "text in the box" thingamajigger to regulate account sign-ups? indifference mentioned that in passing, I believe, and it looks like her comment kind of got glossed over. Oh, wait. I just checked, and that's being done already. In that case, is there a way to modify that barrier so that these spambots can't actually get around it? I know that it is probably doing what it is supposed to do; and there's no way for me to keep tabs on all spambots that attempt to register (though why I'd want to is beyond me...), so I can't make any judgments on the barrier's effective- ness; but we still see the occasional bot, so there must be a way for them to bypass that barrier. If they can do that at the registration step, they'll be able to do it at the posting step, so how do they get around it and how can that be stopped?
There's actually a modification for vB that I've been wanting to install to stop the spam bots, but I'm not able to until we upgrade to vB 3.5. (We're running 3.0 currently.) What it does is keep track of the amount of time it takes a new member to register. Real people will take a couple minutes to fill in their username, password, e-mail address, etc., but a bot will do it in less than a second. So if the mod sees that the registration form has been submitted too quickly it blocks that member from registering.
That's works, too. And, it's kind of nifty. Still, it holds with the main point: why not keep this at the registration process?
Nefertimon, hang on a sec, for Allamorph in fact. He's come up with an idea involving your character that could work. Don't think about dropping out yet alright? ^_~ . . . Right now I'm going to try and get this chapter done and have a slightly free chapter until everyone's comfortable then we can take on missions like these easier. Sound good?
Okay, it's been about four days now, and I'm starting to get a little twitchy. I want to start talking about this thing I concocted, but I also wanted to make sure Nefertimon was still on board. And I'm not really getting twitchy because of the four days, but because she hasn't even been online in four days, and I worry that her internet may have gone all bollocksy again. (I mean, I didn't show up either for four days in The Panopticon and it made people antsy, so I'm trying to lay back.) I do want to prep a little, though. This idea, if it gets a green light, would need a good bit of cooperation from several fronts, and if it can get Nefertimon back on track while still preserving the chapter's intent, I think it'll be well worth it. When I hear something from her, I'll get back to you all with more info, and I'll also be wanting to talk, if only briefly, with anyone that Faust will be interacting with, since he'll be doing a small bit of stirring in his aberrant way. If it turns out that Nefertimon would still rather pull out, then I'll scrap everything and we'll go right back to what Vicky wanted in the first place. I also want to clarify:
So I will say yes - go a head. If you want to post any of this information in the Underground as well to give people an idea that's fine as well. ...I'm going to discard the idea for now and we'll try yours. I don't want to make it seem like I'm throwing the lead onto you, not at all, I'm just saying we'll do your idea instead.[/B']
This was in response to a knee-jerk PM I sent about my brainflash, and to the bolded sentence I would like to add that I am not trying to, nor do I want to, commandeer this thing. I only wish to do a little back-and-forth because I am the most acquainted with this alteration (Jays!, but that sounded snobbish) and I want to make sure we all get on the same page before and should we attempt this. Also, I won't be able to post until I know, either. Just so's ya know.... Later, and hopefully with a go. -A

Group Three
While Etamet and Eliana fussed over Dafine-that-was-Satasha, Delita seated herself in one of the exterior chairs, leaning it back against the wall and staring off into the distance with a concentrated look about her. Actually, she was beginning to feel restless and twitchy. Aside from manipulating a conveniently placed gigantic swinging axe-crane, she hadnt really done anything, and she disliked being just part of a crowd, like so much extra baggage tacked on to the side. Unconsciously, she began tapping the ball of her foot lightly against the chair leg. It looked like the solution Eliana had quickly concocted was working; Dafineno, Satashaappeared to be in much less pain, and she/he was gaining some color back, though Delita wasnt sure how she knew that, what with Dafines feline body being covered in fur. Satashano, Dafinewas looking relieved as well. Delita gave her head a quick shake. I want to see how he gets 'reprogrammed', if reprogramming for such an oddball violation is feasible. Edit: (again) But are they magically delicious? 'Cause honestly, that'd be a little creepy.
One other thing...ZOMG!Allamorph is in visible mode instead of invisible. *twilight zone music begins to play*
(*raises eyebrow*)
From now on, I shall abandon invisibility when posting in the game thread. It caused minor confusion once before, I think, and I fain would have it again.
Things that make you go "hmmm".

*reads Darren's post* O_O Holy crap. Well played, sir. Though as for Merik, it seems that we're allowing too many of our guys to degenerate into some form or other of the loins-for-brains stereotype. Some people like that, I guess. Others prefer at least a measure of chivalry in their characters, and having a bunch of guys around who resort to thinking about sex at the drop of a convenient vulnerable woman is just boring after a while. I think that that was what Sandy was thinking, and if that was the case, I concur. Speaking of men, is it just me, or are we a particularly anti-male bunch of posters? We have three men left currently in active play, and Alcuin, the fourth, is still imprisoned. We have nine females. Maybe next time the players should be encouraged not to immediately turn everyone into a pervert or a psychotic at will. Regular people are so much more fun. (And I didn't really mean for Kayrel to end up psychotic. I actually wanted to go somewhere with him, but subsequent posts hampered me significantly, and his intellect and youth-based oddity were unfortunately lost. If anyone wants to know, I was trying to recreate Moriarty.) Anyway, special card to follow. Edit: (which I seem to have a penchant for doing)
Well this doesn't look awkward, Merik cursed the situation he had gotten himself into.
Spotted the problem. Simple name mix-up, I think.
*swoops in and completely misunderstands the response* ZOMG! Oromis is Allamorph's character! *runs off to kill*
No, wait!!!! He's not mine!!! I swear!!!! ...or is he? (Or isn't he? Oooh, tricky.)

"Wait for it...."
You're not the only one. I was hoping that the remaining three: Allamorph Soliel HellsMinion6676 Would have shown up by now. At least for this round that is. :p
Whoa, now; don't get your undergarments all up in a bunch. ;) It's only been four days, and I like to let the playing field kind of settle down a little before I screw things up again, you know? I mean, what's the point of starting a dust devil, if you're in the middle of a tornado? I'll post a little later today. Right now I'm going to mull and lurk (whistling, of course; you've got to whistle while you lurk...) until dinner, and by then I should have an idea of what's exactly's I want's to do's. ...aaanywho,.... Edit:
OoC: Oromis Tu'wail is saved from the poison. To the player who owns him, no need to thank me. I would rather we keep an original character like him than one of the many generic bastards like Merik.
Thank you.
Then please tell what title you are referring to since I thought you were talking about the one for this chapter. I have no clue what you mean.
Oy. Well, yours says "Without music, life is a mistake." Title, by-line, the little second doohicky under your username. Whatever it's called.
Also...I've never played Clue. :animesigh
O_O Color me stunned. We need to rectify this terrible fallacy. (Who in their right mind would deprive any child of such a great game?)
It's your RPG. So Lucia and Sastasha banged each other, both of them are probably going to end up dead anyway as well as Nadia so who cares? I give up.
Oh, don't you start, too. Jeez.
:animesigh Okay then. The rp is under your guidance, I'll just throw out cards once and a while and tell you when you've found the exit. I'm not even gunna post in the main thread anymore. If you want, I can even delete that whole section where they have sex, then just back away completely.
Okay, now I'm aggravated. It's one thing to say "O.K, I goofed," but it's a complete 'nother, and a total cop-out, to just up and back out like that. Boy, you're doing to yourself what you did to Premonition, and as much as I disagreed with that move, I refuse to accept this as a solution. Sitting there at your PC feeling sorry for yourself won't make this any better, and you're much better off simply saying "I screwed up," and trying to do better in future posts than you are pulling a Pontius Pilate like that. You quit now and you'll be stuck at that level for a long, long time. Edit: I try, and I learned from the best. (Mainly Conan Doyle ^ ^; )
