  1. Also, I think I accidentally discovered a thing.
  2. I ... sort of do the same, actually. I'm basically always logged into Skype, though, despite only using it consistently with a small group of people.
  3. Big Bad Wolf – In This Moment A) This band kicks ass. B) I can't get enough of Maria Brink's voice. C) No one woman should be allowed to be that hot, like, goddamn
  4. For reference .... that was, you know, "you" plural. I'm not calling out James for anything. If anyone should be getting called out for stupid ****, it's most likely going to be me, haha. Ha. >_>;
  5. You know what, James-sock? I haven't talked to you in quite a long time. Do you still use AIM, or have you moved on to better and brighter futures these days? Also I don't care if this should be kept to a PM. Weeks go by without posts on the entire boards, what are you going to do to me? Fire me? Been there, got the t-shirt, lol
  6. Music shipment received. 7. If you are not listening to The Rival Sons, you are wrong.
  8. Don't mind me, by the by, I was just being absurd. It was just a very abrupt change, is all. I do very much like how it automatically separates the unread posts from the previously viewed posts with that little blue line. That's clever, and a lot cleaner than one might expect. I would like the full size avatar back, though. The porthole image is nice and clean and modern and chic, but I'd rather have the full monty, as it were. Oh, and is there a straight WSYWIG post creator/editor mode, or do we just have the current postbox as is? I noticed the new super-/subscript buttons and I like muery much but the thought does go tickly in the back of my brain bucket. Look forward to seeing what the rest of it can do.
  9. Wait what the crap what is going on WHY DOES EVERYTHING LOOK LIKE A WINDOWS 8 UPDATE CLONE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  10. All of this sounds good, but none of it really seems as lazy as Ritz and peanut butter.
  11. I'm sort of curious about the timing of the release of the Apple watch and the Samsung watch, myself. That being said, they are really cool pieces of tech, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't want one. Just a little more pushing and we might actually get holos. [/nerd]
  12. That is really spiffy-loking. I'm sure I would like it more if I had any idea what in the sam hill it was.
  13. More new toys. New mouse. Logitech Proteus Core. New keyboard. Logitech Orion Spark. I have lots of lights on my desk now.
  14. Right now it depends on the day. I still log into Guild Wars 2 every day, but usually just to look around and check on things. I play actively twice, maybe three times a week, depending on what's going on in-game. Even more rarely I might be caught fiddling around in Aion, SWTOR, or even TERA (omg trolling global chat there is so much fun). I looked into Lineage 2 this week and got really interested in their race/class system, but got ten minutes into Newbie Isle and was so fed up with the original OoT-quality graphics giving my computer latency (seriously wtf) and the fact that apparently Newbie Isle critters can easily kill any solo newbie in one battle that I trashed it. When I'm on the 360, I'm usually watching TV shows on Netflix or anime on Hulu, but if I get in a gaming mood I default to the Assassin's Creed series (all of which has been free to download at some point this past year, up through Black Flag) or Geometry Wars 3 (which is AMAAAAAAZEBALLS and will kick your ass six ways from Sunday). I do have some other stuff I need to finish up, but I have a very addictive personality and can do the same thing for an incredibly long time without getting bored, and will subsequently feel profoundly guilty at having gamed all my post-work free time away the next day, so ... I dunno. I wanna finish Tomb Raider at some point. And the dozen other games I have on pause, including DA: Origins. AND I wanna go back and do a full Mass Effect playthrough again, this time as a paragon male soldier instead of the heroic-but-blunt infiltrator Commander Blair Shepard Is Tired Of All Your Bullshit. And then maybe go back and play another femShep but renegade mode instead. FRUSTRATIONS You clearly haven't played Gauge. You should give us your character name. Several of us play GW2 as well.
  15. No. *nosethwack* Bad. That is "what was past for OB". Please keep off-topic posts to a minimum.
  16. Well, there you have it, folks.  Our very own retired site administrator and OB Royalty has given us the definitive answer to this thread's posed question. What's next for OtakuBoards? What an inspirational guy.
  17. Yeah, but forcing social interactions never goes over well. I also don't think you were around to see how much cross-forum posting went on. I was here just before we all started doing real life things that required us to not be monitoring the boards every minute of every day, and you better believe people posted everywhere. But they had interests everywhere then.

That cat is nice, but the other ones don't look so happy about the hugs.

You wouldn't look too happy either if you were stoned out of your mind on pain meds after coming out of surgery.

  18. I think you're confusing separate forums with separate chat rooms on TheOtaku.  Chat rooms demand you pay attention to one of them at a time, so even if you're lurking in several rooms at once, your attention will be on one primary window, and therefore your social focus will be with that room as well.  Thus cliques, just like in real life.   Forums don't require you to limit your attention to one single forum, as evidenced by the current forum arrangement already.  What .... oh lord I can't bring myself to say that name.   Uhm.   What Greg there is bringing up is how our current forum setup is a very broad environment where everything from a general topic is lumped into the same collection of threads, which is very nice and clean and tidy.  But what that does is sort of discourage highly specific thread topics like favorite characters or "who would you date" or stuff like that, which differ from a general, say, chapter-by-chapter or episode-by-episode analytical breakdown thread of a series.  Although nothing is physically stopping these threads from being created, a member who, for instance, wants to discuss all things One Piece now has to wade through everything for Naruto, Bleach, Sword Art Online, Attack On Titan, Avatar, etc., ad nauseum.  And there are so many series that are either popular or cult classics that the prospect of wading through thirty pages of threads just to find the one you posted in yesterday is utterly ridiculous.   So it's not like they don't have a point.
  19. There is a Dairy Queen directly on the way home from work, and it makes me incredibly happy.

  20. Nerdsy is right about the reps. High rep low weight workouts are good for toning and creating definition, but not really for doing anything other than that. If you want to get your muscles used to working, I'd suggest starting at a minimum of 35 lb free weights, one for each hand. And once you get to the point when you're not dying after one or two reps, then high weight low rep will build your muscle, and high rep low weight will tone it out. As my old RDC chief in boot used to say, if it doesn't burn when you're done, you're not doing it right. Also if you want to take his workout routine, keep in mind that planking is all about core strength. Do not let your pelvis sag during it, and also do not let it rise up into what we call a 'bridge'. Maintain a nice flat line with your body. And don't start with fifteen seconds. That's preposterous. Thirty seconds. Two minutes if you want to understand how doing absolutely nothing can make you grunt and groan like a wuss. (I used to say "two minute plank" during A School PT and then make them hold it for two minutes thirty. Hee.)
