Actually, I'm gonna go with Yagami because so far as I've seen Lamperouge can't grasp the nuances of the human mind. Lots of abstractions there to factor in. Oi, I think the flow of this post suffered greatly from a combination of "so much stuff to put in" and "it's three in the morning; I want to finish". I'm not entirely satisfied with it. And yes. Hi, Victor.

Business As Usual â??Good to see you again,â? Nathan called to as he strode through a wall into the empty loading bay. Gavrie gave a lazy salute of a wave in return; Karl did nothing, standing with his hands buried deep in his coat pockets. Nathan had considered holding the meet in the park, but he hadnâ??t wanted any of the other Reapers to overhear the exchangeâ??for now, the information the group had uncovered was merely that, carrying no implications along with itâ??so he had chosen an out-of-the-way place, on the industrial side of the city. The shipping company that used the building had not yet taken to round the clock business yet, so there was no danger of assignments, the only possible reason one of the others could have to be in a position to eavesdrop. Nathan beckoned to the pair while he walked, altering his path to head for one of the bay doors. Gavrie and Karl moved and intercepted him, and the stern-faced veteran spoke first. â??You said you had something for us?â? Nathan nodded. â??Something we found recently that I wanted to run by you,â? he said, â??and didnâ??t trust to encoded transmissions. I think it might be interesting.â? â??You think?â? asked Gavrie, raising a thick eyebrow. â??You donâ??t know yet?â? â??Nope.â? The discrepancy didnâ??t seem to bother the blue man. â??Our tech expert told us she found something significant, and I told her not to send me any information through normal channels. I sent her some message paper, and Isenâ??s retrieving it right now.â? Gavrie chuckled as they ghosted through the wall and into the freight station. â??A bit paranoid, arenâ??t you?â? â??I dunno who could be tapping us,â? replied Nathan. â??Even though most of our information-swapping is done through her crystal stuff, thereâ??s still the off chance that someone could pick up on the pattern.â? He shrugged. â??I donâ??t want to take chances. First, though, here.â? From the inside of his blazer, Nathan withdrew a small sword. The black metal of the blade gleamed in the moonlight. â??I know what that is,â? said Gavrie. â??Iâ??ve seen more than enough already.â? â??Soâ??ve I,â? countered Nathan. â??But this oneâ??s different. Take it, check it out; see what I mean.â? Gavrie did as Nathan suggested. His eyes narrowed as he reached for it, but still he hefted it and spun it in his hand, giving it a few test swings to either side. â??Hunh,â? he said thoughtfully. â??Itâ??s just a normal blade, but thereâ??s something....â? â??Yeah,â? said Nathan. â??It feels different somehow.â? He paused. â??I think theyâ??re using human souls.â? Gavrie stared at him. â??I know,â? said Nathan. â??Weâ??re supposed to know about that kind of thing. But Iâ??ve had a suspicion for quite a while that there was some kind of testing being done on human spirituality, and the feel of this blade makes me think whoever weâ??ve been tracking may be trying to restart the forging.â? Gavrie nodded. â??And that would be...?â? â??Youâ??ll know when Isen gets here,â? said Nathan. â??Although I have a feeling weâ??re thinking in the same direction.â? He glanced over his shoulder at Karl, who was following a few paces behind the two men. â??That one yours?â? Gavrie nodded. â??Karl. Had him since the War,â? he said. â??Good kid. A bit thick-headed now and then, but heâ??s mostly a good kid.â? Now Nathan chuckled. â??You seem to like the thick-headed ones.â? He seemed to think for a moment. â??Good-looking cat. He carries himself well.â? â??Well, I have spent almost three thousand years training him,â? Gavrie mused. â??I should think heâ??d have learned something by now.â? â??Yeah,â? Nathan laughed. â??I guess . . . oh wait, here she comes.â? Above the freight yard, Isenâ??s figure was descending from the direction of the city. She touched down a few meters away from the men, though Nathan walked ahead to meet her, closing the gap quickly. As she handed him the paper she carried, she gave him a curious look. â??Are you sure this was necessary?â? Nathan shrugged. â??Just a precaution,â? he told her while the other two approaced. â??It probably wasnâ??t necessary, butâ??â? He started at the werecatâ??s sudden hiss. Isen shoved him behind her and dropped into a defensive crouch, her left hand up by her opposite shoulder and her right arm in draw position. Her teeth were bared, and she was staring straight at Karl. The male werecat took an involuntary step back; Gavrieâ??s scythe-staff flashed into existence as he stepped in front of his familiar, his face troubled. â??Nathan...?â? he said uncertainly. â??I donâ??t know!â? answered Nathan while he attempted to get past his partner. Isen drew her sword and stood, leveling it at Karl while she used her left arm to hold Nathan back. â??Traitor!â? she spat at Gavrie. Her glare intensified. â??What is the meaning of this? Why do you protect this filth?â? â??Nathan...,â? Gavrie repeated, a touch more demanding this time. His grip tightened. â??Stand aside, Reaper!â? Isen ordered, taking a slow step forward. â??Let me dispose of it, as is my right.â? â??Isenâ??whatâ??grraaaah!â? Nathan wrested past the incensed werecat and ducked under her blade, arms out as if to separate her from the others. â??This is Gavrieâ??s familiar, Isen. Stand down.â? â??He isâ??â? â??STAND DOWN!â? Silence fell after Nathanâ??s roar. Sullenly, Isen bit off her reply and sheathed her sword. The blue reaper scowled, looking back and forth between Isen and the men behind him . â??Now,â? he said slowly, drawing out the pause. â??...what in the hell?â? Isen glowered at the pavement. â??He is Marked,â? she fumed, crossing her arms without releasing the hilt of her katana. â??His face shows it. He is the thrall of a vampire.â? â??That vampire is dead,â? Gavrie retorted, as Nathan turned a querulous gaze in his direction. â??I killed him myself. No one owns this beast.â? â??Sheâ??s right?â? asked Nathan Isen gave Gavrie a piercing stare. â??He is free?â? she asked? â??He is free,â? answered Gavrie. â??Do you speak the truth, Reaper?â? she pressed. â??Do you swear to this?â? â??He is free,â? insisted Gavrie. â??I have known him for nigh as long as you have known yours. I believe I would have noticed.â? â??So she was right,â? repeated Nathan. â??Then I am sorry,â? Isen said, letting go of her weapon. â??I have not heard of anyone escaping a Marking and yet retaining their will, much less their sanity.â? She stepped forward and gave Karl a slight bow. â??Forgive my hostile actions; I did not know.â? Karl stood with his mouth slightly open, a glazed expression on his face. â??...sure,â? he managed. Nathan huffed. â??Look, will someone pleaseâ??oh, nevermind. Iâ??ll find out later.â? He held up the paper Isen had given him. â??You know, I did have a reason for calling this meeting, and it wasnâ??t so we could try and kill each other. So can we maybe get back to that now?â? He waited for a response from the others. When there was none, he nodded. â??Good,â? he said. He lowered his hand. â??Jeez.... â??So weâ??ve uncovered a few interesting things about this entity weâ??ve been tracking, like I told you earlier,â? he continued. â??Recently our tech girl ran across a data dump that was larger than normal, and...,â? He opened the paper. â??...she says the man behind this organization is someone named Shou Jian.â? â??Oh, now thereâ??s a name that rings a bell,â? said Gavrie. â??Yeah, same here,â? agreed Nathan. â??But I thought we wiped them out.â? â??Tsat is what most everyone tsinks.â? Four heads snapped around to find the source of the silken voice. On the roof of a nearby building, casually silhouetted against the moon, stood Victor Lâ??Envers. â??Whoa, whoa!â? Nathan threw himself in front of Gavrie and Karl, who had both summoned their weapons and were preparing to assault the trespasser. â??Easy! Heâ??s okay!â? Gavrie paused. â??What?â? â??I would do as your friend suggests, shinigami,â? Victor counseled calmly, leaping lightly down to ground level. â??It would be a shame if tsings became messy.â? The vampire was dressed in a white dress shirt unbuttoned to three buttons, a light, precisely tailored blazer, denim jeans, and square-toed leather shoes. In complete contrast to the ensemble, a rapier with an oversized blade dangled from his left hip, the blade running down and over the basket guard. Victor smiled at Isen. â??How charming of you, my dear, to stand by and leave all tse troubling effort to your partner.â? Isen rolled her eyes. â??Why are you here, Victor?â? â??Always tso cold,â? Victor murmured, glancing at the two uncomfortable spirits behind Nathan. â??She is not always like tsis, is she?â? â??Iâ??m beginning to wonder,â? quipped Nathan grimly. â??Now answer the question, or Iâ??ll let these two have a go.â? â??And we tsertainly donâ??t want tsat,â? Victor agreed. â??Well, I was just out for an evening tstrollâ??â? Isen coughed. â??â??when I happened to overhear a name tsat I wass familiar wiss.â? He tilted his head slightly. â??Jian, I tsink it wass? Shou Jian?â? When no one answered immediately, he chuckled. â??I tsought as much. â??As it happens,â? he went on, â??I know a little tsometsing about monsieur Jian. For instance, at tse moment he is quite tse powerful businessman....â?

Hearing Christina Scabbia in this, "Our Truth", and others makes me appreciate good vocal training. I've mentioned before that I enjoyed Tarja Turunen because she could do so many different sounds with her voice; I feel the same way about Scabbia, except she seems to keep head voice strong on the lighter parts, in contrast to Turunen's almost liquid sound. Scabbia's chest voice is mesmerising. (see "Heaven's A Lie") Andrea looks kinda weird, though. And the rough sound he gives his voice is okay, but I'd prefer if more guys in this genre sang more cleanly and capitalised on the inherent power in the male voice. Just seems to lack any real passion. *shrug*

Yeah, that's what I was thinking also, especially given the dates of their "sales". Back-to-back-to-back stuff like that makes me feel less like I'm looking for entertainment and more like I'm looking for a car. So yeah, wasn't thinking that was too legit, there. Thanks.

What is your opinion on emo people?
Allamorph replied to HelloKittyLover's topic in General Discussion
And sorry if I'm off topic here, but where exactly did the word "emo" come from?
Darren did a bit towards answering that. "Emo" is another high-school method for seeking attention. It's a fad, a status, and nothing else. If there's a person who would genuinely meet all the stereotyped attitudes of an "emo", then they're most likely genuinely depressed, and won't go around calling themselves "emo". Being "emo" has nothing to do with having actual emotional or psychological needs, problems, or stress. -
In the same vein, does anyone have experience with AnimeballZ.com? I stumbled across the site today while searching for someplace to buy me some Wolf's Rain, and I'd like to know stuff about them before I go capitalising on sales and what.
Just hide anything that could be used as incriminating evidence and try to get your family to avoid alcohol at all costs.
To make things even more unbearable... Thanksgiving now officially has a reason to be hated... My plans have just gotten a million times worse...
Vague post is vague. Also kind of emo. I am going home. Since I'm in college, taking the week off to go see my grandmother in SC isn't possible for now, so I'll content myself with my immediate family and my cats. Man, Shadow is going to go frilling nuts.

You know, maybe we should have an "Ask The Staff" sticky, just for all the random questions that come up. :p Most of our banners come from other members, HelloKittyLover. If you head over to the Art Studio, there's a sub-forum for requests where you can ask for banners and avatars, and members who are good with graphic art are free to answer you. Usually it's a good idea to post the images you want to use along with your request, so the members making it don't have to spend hours hunting down images and concepts and stuff. But yeah, that's where people go. Now, my signature, and the sigs for Indi, Sabrina, SunfallE, and Rachmaninoff were all made by SunfallE because we worked out details outside the site. But if you don't really know anyone who's good at graphic art (and I am not :p), the Art Studio is the place to go. Hope that helps. (^_^)

Manga Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [Warning: Spoilers]
Allamorph replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
Though, considering the fact that this is a very rare occurence with CLAMP (unlike certain other manga-ka who shall not be named), I'm willing to forgive them.[/color']
See, yeah. I'm not really aggravated so much as I am perplexed because the style of this chapter is just not like CLAMP. I mean, I can understand the need to communicate the desires of the villain, which so far have been expertly hidden, but I'm not a big fan of the "stop everything, Lucy's got some 'splaining to do" club. If you know what I mean. -
Manga Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [Warning: Spoilers]
Allamorph replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
So, new chapter, at long last, and we are presented with... ....absolutely nothing. Sorry, that's what war is good for. I need something a little more obvious than 'oh gosh, Fei Wong is going to attempt to alter the moment that Yuuko froze'. Throwing Syaoran into the mix last chapter was very nice, but this one didn't seem to be anything short of a gloat-fest for Mister I-wanna-have-hair-like-Wolverine. Still, Kurogane expressed my sentiments very eloquently. Shut the heck up already. :p -
And here I thought you would have liked series like Agatha Christie's Poirot or Midsomer Murders. I have some of the sets from these series and they just seem like shows that you would enjoy. Though maybe you do and you're just not interested in having them around to re-watch at some point.
It's not so much whether or not I like them, or enjoy watching them. Heck, I know of about eight TV series besides those that I plan on eventually owning. But I'd rather have books and music now. I can buy TV series, movies, anime, and games myself. That's what I did with all the games/systems I own now, so.... My uncle once offered to buy me a bass guitar when I told him I'd like to learn someday, but I told him if he bought it, and not me, I'd probably never use it just because the sense of ownership wouldn't be there.

Barack Obama: Confirmed to be 44th President of the United States
Allamorph replied to Mr. Maul's topic in General Discussion
I'm not surprised, actually. I mean, since we've still got a long ways 'til the Super Bowl.... But yeah. Us Americans, we just love buyin' and sellin' our useless crap, don't we? (Although, granted, I'd rather see Barack on my plate staring back at me than John. :p Man looks like he's got a cyst in his jaw.) -
Sweet. Incidentally, if you like following other games, I know three that have been going for quite some time. The Von Braun Odyssey has a nice cast at the moment, and Silver One is on its second installment. And the banner below will take you straight to my pet project. And like I tell everyone else, it gets better the farther in it goes. But yeah. Jump on over there and see what you can start/get into.
I like chatting and RPing on forums. So if someone knows of an active RP, tell me about it, and I'll look into it
Awesome to hear. Word of warning first, though: the RPs here aren't the kind you can hop into/out of on a whim. Least, that's "not how it's done" at the moment. :p Popular thing currently is getting a crew of players together and running a game with that set of people from beginning to end. For that, we use the Auditions subsection of the Theater (which is where the actual gaming goes on). I think a few open-format games have been attempted so far, but either no interest was sparked at the time or the leader kind of disappeared. Doesn't mean it can't work, but . . . if that's what you're looking for, then I-unno. Kinda story-based 'roudn these parts. But if that's your thing, then don't mind anything I've just been blithering about at all. :animesmil

I have a solid three-page list of music I would like over the course of the next few years, and it's always subject to change. Depends on what I learn about through Pandora, the National Science Foundation, and Viewers Like You. Found Acroma through them, at any rate. Since I don't see a reason to try and accrue any other entertainment stuff if I'm not going to use it for ages, I won't be asking for much else. Ultimately, it's just nice stuff to have, and I can't really ever feel the same way about movies/shows/video games as I do about music. The other things are merely time-killers, I guess. Come to think of it, I should throw together a list of books I want to own. Hmm.
To be clear: The thing I disagree with is using voting to inhibit gay marriage, that's all.
Which means that as long as the proposition had been voted down, you would have said nothing about voting whatsoever. Or in other words, people should have the right to vote as long as they vote the way you want them to vote, and otherwise no one should be able to. You said you were done before. So right now all you're doing is shoving your foot farther down your throat. Ain't nobody here against you, man. Not even the system is against you. Take a breather, a'ight? ...unless you don't mind entertaining us like that. That's totally cool, too. (^_^)
