And yes, that's my way of saying I refuse to predict who would win. :p
Or you could save yourself the trip 'round your elbow to get to your nose and just say you refuse to predict the winner. In the website's defense, Wikipedia is by no means a bad source. If you bother to do the research, you'll likely find out that very little of the articles there are actually wrong. But no, it should not be used as a main source or key reference point to one's argument. I prefer to think of it as a starting point, to give you some idea of what you're looking for beyond keywords specific to your topic. Since I've been at college, I've touched Wiki during almost every paper I've written. However, I have never even included it in a bibliography, let alone cite it. It may (and it usually does) give you reliable information, but it's not a hard, established source, nor is it as thorough as a reference should be.

True, but then again, intent and reality are often two different items. All I'm sayin' is that if your wardrobe is causing arousal, whether or not that's what you were intending is quite irrelevant. And if a large percentage of people are so moved by the style, I think it's safe to say that it's provocative, no? In wardrobe stuff like this, you have to be able to think from both your angle and the mind of anyone who might see it, so you don't accidentally draw . . . unwanted attentions.
Also, it is not only my statement that "lolita is NOT a provocative fashion," but the community's statement as a whole. We are forever trying to correct people of the assumption that the Gothic Lolita style has anything to do with the original, Nobokovian (is that a word?) definition of the term "lolita."

Wikipedia article: Lolita Fashion; subheading Lolita; (links) Although "Lolita" is a reference to Vladimir Nabokov's famous novel, and GothLoli is often worn by teens, most followers of the style do not consider it overtly sexual. Adherents present themselves as Victorian children or baby dolls and prefer to look "cute" rather than "sexy". Many Lolitas claim that the term 'Lolita' doesn't necessarily have anything to do with sex at all.
So this is not news to me. However, if you read the book, you'll notice that the subject of the main character's desires, and the one he calls "Lolita", was not intending to come off as "sexy" either. I just want to make sure you realize, my lady Roxie, that provocation is in the eye of the beholder. (^_^)

I couldn't tell you exactly what the problem is, but I can explain Hibernate for you. (^_^) As opposed to the Sleep function, which is basically Energy Save Mode for the computer, Hibernate actually turns off the CPU, but keeps your session in memory. To resume your session, you'll have to physically turn the computer back on, instead of just wiggling the mouse. Everything will be just as it was when you Hibernated (just like it would be with Sleep), it's just that the main difference is power-off instead of power-down. And even though I'd be willing to bet that someone else could immediately help you with the issue, I'd like to see what you're seeing; could you takes some screenshots, prettyplease? :p

Left Behind was one of the strongest in the series, incidentally; although I kind of liked the approach they took, their characters did get kind of worn out and stale by the fourth and fifth, so I quit following. Plus, later on in the series, LaHaye and co-author Jerry B. Jenkins didn't thresh out their story as thoroughly as they did in the first one or two. It gets kind of choppy and "lolwut" every now and again. If I get the chance, I'll start in on that Stephen King I picked up earlier this semester, Duma Key. Since I haven't read any King yet, and I feel badly about that, I figured that it was as opportune a place as any to start.

Hey, Mihoruru! Welcome to the Anthology. It's nice to see you getting active, but in the future, please don't pull up threads that are more than a year or two old, if that. (^_^) Chances are, the people who were posting there are already gone, or have lost interest completely. Also, instead of double posting, we encourage you to use the Edit button to add material to your post, so the thread doesn't get cluttered up with spam. I went ahead and merged them for you this time, though. (^_^) Nice to see you around. Have fun. –A
(Thread closed)

Yeah, it's an actual style, I'm pretty sure. Rapier, I think. It looks kind of flashy and braggy with a weapon made of pure energy that's usually handled like a cross between a broadsword and a katana, though. Then again, Jedi lightsaber duels have always been a bit flashy.
Oh, I knew it was an actual style. I also think he's mixing forms, but eh. Speaking of flashy, I found yet another duel. This one is very pleasing, and quite fast. -
Gothic Lolita isn't porn at all though. It's just a reasonably classic and often misunderstood style of clothing.
No, but then again, it makes the fetish that much more accessible. I mean, the point of GL is to put really short skirts on women, so they both look younger and show more. Personally, I doubt that "elegant" is quite the right word to use for this style. In fact, elegant to me means something more like mature and demure beauty, with graceful bearing. Not childish and provocative. Excuse the italics abuse.

Another bit of Ryan Wieber. This one's a good one; and shows how Maul should have been using the damn thing. Shame that the slow-motion bit was actually filmed at that pace. The motion of Ryan's shirt gives it away. And actually, I like Scott's style. Very controlled, precise. Edit: And while I was browsing, a decent double v. twin match. Don't mind the clichéd script. :p [YOUTUBE="Blue v.
On a side note to DB: I really, really hope you made that post to intentionally rile people up. Because that has to be one of the most tasteless things I've read in a while.
No, those are actually his tastes. And please let's not get him off on another "I'm proud of how effed up I am!" spiels. This poor thread doesn't need that. :p -
I like the new singer better. The band is okay. The guy on keys is pretty good. The classical instrumentation is good. The "metal" stuff... just doesn't seem right to me. It's not "metal" enough for me. Metalcore is heavier than this stuff... It's guitar riffs similiar to that of Children of Bodom. A girl singing and an average double bass drummer. But that girl does have a voice. :][/COLOR']
Perhaps also, you're hearing "average" in the way they write their music. I doubt every piece is written to give the set player a workout; why write in sixteenth-note triplets if eighth-notes fit the style? And yes, they are most certainly not as heavy as metalcore. 'Ts why they call it "metal opera" or "symphonic metal". Trying Dead Gardens or Romanticide by them should give you a harder feel, I think....and even then, the guitars know to submit to the vocalist, and they also make sure you can hear the chords they're using. MOAR QUEEN!!! :p
