1. Out of all the anime I have seen so far, which isn?t much, I rather enjoyed the part in Fruits Basket where Shigure offers to go to the school to pick up some things for Tohru. It?s just so priceless as she?s there thinking how kind and sweet and thoughtful he is and that pervert is just singing to himself on the way to the school
High School Girls
Another moment I rather enjoyed was in Full Metal Panic Fumofuu. (I hope I spelled that right) The one where the military guy who is protecting the girl follows her all
dressed up in that silly costume. The best part is when she is bothered by some guys at the park she is at and he beats the heck out of them and finishes by literally stomping them between the legs. (ouch)
That was just beautiful. And then the episode where the girl is
kidnapped
and he gets the
kidnappers little brother to help him deceive everyone.
That was one of the best episodes in the entire series. Especially how he
freaked everyone out by telling them the easiest way for him to get them.
2.
I'm not dating the guy who used this on me, nor will I ever date him. So I was wondering... Why do people use pick up lines? Do they actually work? And what were your best/funniest/worst pick up lines that you have used/heard? *I hope the guy who said this to me isn't reading this... :animeswea *
Don?t be too hard on the poor guy. (And no I?m not him ;)) I try to avoid pickup lines because I want to sound sincere when I ask a girl out. But its not always easy to tell the girl you are interested in that you like them and thus some guys fall back on pick-up lines. I?ve never heard anyone use one, other than a few random times in high school, but it?s been long enough that I don?t remember what the actual line was. I do remember that none of the guys who used one ever got a date with the girl in question though. I've always tried to stick with the simple one of would you like to go to a movie with me. And for the most part it's always worked. ;)
 3. Probably the only thing I?m good at is playing the Cello. I do fairly well in school, but I don't seem to have the knack for getting all A's like my friend Crystia does, but I get close enough to make me happy. Then I do semi okay in video games because I don?t have the patience for some of the racing and fighting games. And that about sums it up.
 4. About the only dancing I ever learned to do was ballroom dancing, and even then that was because my girlfriend at the time thought it would be fun to take the class together. We?ve since broken up and other than the class; I haven?t tried any other forms of dance. It was fun doing it with her, but other than that I?ve never really cared for dancing.
 5. Ah the dub vs. sub argument. Perhaps a decade or two before technology made it a simple matter to provide both on a DVD I could see arguing over it. But today? It?s pointless when you can have both. I?ve only just started watching anime this past year, so I haven?t seen any of the terrible dubs that people often complain about. Terrible shows, perhaps, but not the dubbing. That being said, it?s a fair assessment to say I prefer hearing it in my own language. I?ve no desire to become one with Japanese anime to the point that it has to be in the original language. Occasionally I?ll switch tracks if something seems confusing to me, but the rest of the time. I?d rather watch than read.
 6. Ah, so that?s how they end up free from the Empire. At least for now that is. I had wondered about that after reading and signing up for your RPG based on it. ;) As for the actual chapter, I like how you told it from several different viewpoints. So out of curiosity, are there any more chapters before the RPG starts? I?m assuming there is at least one based on what the others have written in their signups.
 7. When I?ve actually had a girlfriend, I?ve always tried to find out what she likes and then give her something along that nature. Asking friends or family is definitely one way you can find out. Or the next time you are at her house, take a look at what she has to see what type of music or shows she likes. If you see that say she has several volumes to a show she likes and not the rest you could get her the next one. If that?s not an option, try to get something you think she would like. I?ve often given simple gifts of jewelry since you can get some fairly decent sterling silver necklaces and bracelets for a good price. I've even gotten a little teddy bear and attached the present around it's neck to give it to her. And so far every girl I?ve ever given it to has liked it, some of them still have the little teddy bear even though we no longer date.
 8. Well putting aside the homework aspect, I?m both against and for cloning. I really don?t see the problem with using cloning to make organs people need for transplants. And by that I don?t mean grow a human, cut out what you need and toss the rest. I mean where only the one specific item is grown, like a heart. I do see a problem with cloning the entire person. For one thing we are already heading towards overpopulation and allowing cloning especially if the other person is still alive would really upset that balance. I also think from a psychological standpoint it would undermine the uniqueness of the human soul. If such a thing exists that is. And though I?m not too terribly religious myself, cloning would open up so many doors that would literally set people at each other?s throats as to whether or not it was moral to attempt to do what they think God did in the first place. Or what about countries raising clones to fight their battles for them? It just seems like it would end up being a total pain in the butt in the end.
 9. Hmmm? well as one of the GameCube players, I can definitely echo others sentiments that if you haven?t played the Wii version, it won?t make a bit of difference. You can?t miss what you haven?t played right? Anyway, I?ve only made it to the second dungeon since I got it and so far the whole experience is downright amazing. Even though the first boss battle was fairly easy, it still was entertaining and the way the dungeon was done is foreshadowing a far more rich and interactive Zelda experience this time around. I?m eagerly awaiting the new experiences that they have in mind with this game. And playing as a wolf is just pure enjoyment. The storyline and how they?ve drawn you in with more interaction between the characters is poignant and beautifully done. And Midna is a hundred times more fun than some of the fairies have been in the past games. I think Charles really summed up the aspects of the game really well as I agree completely. I can see why others might want a more difficult level, and yet at the same time, I?m not at all disappointed in how the game looks and feels. If I ever do get a Wii, Twilight Princess will be on the top of my list just so I can play it again with the differences.
 10. I?d like to go back in time and hear some of the greatest classical music when it was originally performed. Or rather meet those who were responsible for writing it. If not that, then definitely the future, one where as SunfallE put it, we are out among the stars. Now that would be interesting and quite the experience. Or can I be selfish and have the option to travel to many different times and check them out before I decide?
 11. If zombies were real then I would have to say that other aspects in relation to them are real as well. So I?d learn the magic I?ve seen in games that deals with the undead and go out and kill as many as possible. Then once I?m too exhausted I?ll end up being eaten alive and will have no need to hide. Or I'll get lucky and have a spot to rest until I can go out and kill again. Though if they are everywhere, eventually like everyone else I too will die.
 12. *looks at the previous posts* Seems that the human race still has the conflict of struggling to understand one another, though it looks like you two are at least trying. But for myself, I can kind of relate to what Phaedrus is getting at. I don?t completely understand it and yet at the same time it?s rather fascinating to realize just how little we really understand. As for this Crystia:
The only good thing is that recently his parents pretty much got tired of her antics and her showing up at their home when ever she knew I was visiting and gave her the option of staying away or having legal action taken against her. Though whether or not that will really keep her away is yet to be seen.
I feel the same way and it sure surprised the hell out of me when my parents actually told that pain in the butt to get lost. I was leaning more towards giving her the spanking she deserved for being such an immature brat. Anyway, I also agree with what Aaryanna_Mom said and pretty much everyone else in the thread. In the end I think one of our greatest conflicts is to overcome the darkness within our own souls. Those little whispers of greed and stupidity that drive us to do things we later regret.
 13. My favorite media is music; life would just be fairly boring and empty without it. The most obvious reason, think of a movie like Jaws, it wouldn?t be anywhere near as dramatic without that classic sound when the shark is near. After music, is video games, things like Zelda, Final Fantasy are a just fun to play. And computer games like Diablo II Lord of Destruction and a number of the Star Wars games as well. Especially the Star Wars ones, the music to those are awesome. And finally I would have to say books. For the same reasons you have listed. They take you further into the story than a simple show or movie. Movies, television and other media of that nature have become too loaded with commercialization and the newest trend of previews on DVD?s that you can?t skip is pretty damn annoying.
 14.
1. How do you think you'd react to being shot in the foot? 2. Do you watch actually watch anime, or are you here for the community? 3. What do you think of the internet revolution?
1 ? It would depend on what I got shot with don?t you think? Something small that just stings I?d be annoyed. Now if we are talking about something going through the shoe and foot and doing some serious damage, I think it?s a no brainer that I?d probably be clenching my teeth trying to not cry and getting some help to get to the doctors to get treated. I?d probably cuss as well. 2 ? I?m here more for the community as one of my best friends is a member here. In fact until earlier this year I had never watch anime at all. I do enjoy watching it, but I?m not some huge fan of the stuff. 3 ? The what? Truth be known I?ve never really thought about it at all. It?s just one of those things I grew up with. So I don?t really think of it as a revolution. Allrighty! Now for my questions! 1 - What do you think about global warming? 2 ? What is your greatest fear and why? 3 ? What is the dumbest thing you have ever done that you regret?
 15. For or against? Can?t see a reason why I would be against it, after all it?s not like someone is forcing me to join. In fact I don?t have an account at myspace. I?m really not into that sort of thing and even the myO account I have is rarely used. The only reason I even know about it is due to several kidnapping cases that were on the news here in Salt Lake City, Utah during the past year. Because the stupid kids put enough information on their myspace accounts that the kidnapper used it to find them. I can hardly be against a website for that since they didn?t make them put such personal information up on their page, they did it all by themselves. Not very bright, and since they were underage, sounds like either their parents didn?t do a good job of telling them the dangers, or they ignored it and put the info up anyway.
 16. Name: Darren Anderson Age: 60 Gender: Male. Race: Versilan. Loyalty: Neutral. Description: Darren Weapons: Other than to know how to use the most basic of laser and disruptor weapons, Darren has no special weapons skills. He has learned basic hand to hand combat, but not much beyond that. Most of his knowledge in regards to weapons is in knowing how to safely transport and prepare them as occasionally his merchant services are hired to deliver them. Special Skills: Darren is a bit of a handy man in that he can fix most basic repairs to his space ship and run the most basic of computer programs as well. Though not a true expert in any field other than transportation, he has a wide range of general knowledge. He also has field experience as a commander. Not for the military but rather for the company he started over thirty years ago. Personality: Fairly easygoing, though quick to take offense. Darren has no patience for those he perceives as lazy. Short Bio: Darren stifled a yawn as he oversaw the preparations for jumping into hyperspace. With the increase in activity in regards to the sector of space that the planet Earth was in, the military had become more ridged in their control of independent merchants like himself. Getting the clearance for his current cargo had taken nearly twice as long as it should have. But Darren knew better than to argue. He may have the best armament and weapons on his ship that a civilian was allowed, but compared to one of even the smaller battle ships of the fleet, he was outmatched and the last thing he wanted to do was get on their bad side by being impatient. He stifled another yawn catching the attention of his second in command. ?They sure do like to keep us waiting lately don?t they?? Mike said. Darren shrugged, ?You know how it goes, they couldn?t find their mama?s even if you guided them by the hand.? Mike laughed and went back to what he was doing. A few minutes later they received the go ahead. Finally! Darren thought as he issued the command to enter hyperspace. It?s a good thing this cargo is going to bring us a good profit, otherwise that delay would have really hurt. ?I?m off to get some sleep, short of a disaster I don?t want to be disturbed.? Darren said as he got up to leave the small bridge. ?Sure thing commander,? Mike said. ?It?s not like there?s much of anything between here and our destination. Earth doesn?t count since we don?t stop there anyway.? ?True,? Darren replied. ?Still all the activity makes me nervous, especially since they?ve never been so damn picky about giving us clearance for a section of space where the only inhabitants can?t even get to their moon very well.? ?Or manage to get along.? Mike snickered. ?Don?t worry, I?ll keep my eyes open for anything unusual.? Darren yawned yet again and then left the bridge for his quarters. Any longer and he?d pass out from exhaustion.
 17.
And the best thing? Influence these lady's lives in a positive manner, and allow them to grow more because of the terrible things which happened to them. One day, I expect them to be quite strong people due to their ability to grow from something so terrible. That's retribution if anything.
Ah yes, that?s exactly what you should do. The most important thing here is the ladies. Whether or not the scumbag who attacked them is brought to justice or beaten for his crimes is irrelevant. In the end it is the ladies who really matter. Don?t be a fool and rush off to take vengeance, stand behind them and support them based on what they wish to do, whether it?s to move on with their lives or to prosecute the jackass. Don?t drag them down by being no better than the one who attacked them, it may seem macho and cool but unless you are defending from an actual attack in progress, it?s foolhardy and dangerous. Oh and if the lady in question wants vengeance, try to get her some help so she can move on and not let such a jerk rule her life in that respect. I can understand the feeling on some level as someone I care for had something really bad happen to her. She wasn?t raped, it was something else, but it was still horrible and I wanted to kill the person who put her through it. But I didn't I just did my best to be there for her. Phaedrus is right, in the end she became a much stronger person because of it.
 18. Well besides the fact that my real name Darren is usually taken, I thought it would be nice to have something that reflected a bit of what I like and what is the driving force in my life. So since I play the cello and I?m into classical music, I used the last name of one of my all time favorite composers. Simple and to the point.
 19.
>_< That never worked for me. Although I do have the worst luck in the world...but ANYWAYS!...
Well...it never works for me either. But I'd rather know than continue to pine over a girl who in the end has no interest in me. But still, you never know right? And even then at that point at least she knows you like her in that way and though perhaps she might think she would never think of you in that way; at least you've opened it for a down the road she might do a double take and re-consider moment. In the end all I can do is wish you the best of luck in moving up the list from friend to potential special someone. ;) I'd still go with a more simple gift and a chat with her.
 20. I feel your pain my friend and I am in agreement with DeadSeraphim, the present you have in mind is already far more than what a mere friend would give. Adding a poem to it is a bit of an overkill and likely to weird her out and push her away from you. I?d stick to either the shirt or the series on DVD, though the shirt is a better present to get from a friend, as the entire series on DVD is more substantial and something one would expect from a boyfriend. I?d save the poem to go along with flowers or chocolates on Valentines day as such a gift is more fitting for that type of holiday. ;) I can understand that you would love to be more than just friends, but unless she desires it, that?s just not going to happen. Again I agree with DeadSeraphim, try talking to her and letting her know how you feel. For all you know she might actually like you and is under the impression that it is you who is only interested in just being friends.
