The only thing I can't do is have cereal with milk in countries other than the USA. I guess they process milk differently & have difference enzymes, because drinking the milk makes me so sick I just want to keel over. *_*
I forgot about that since it's been a long time since I was outside the US. But I know what you're talking about. o_O
It's because parents these days don't freaking teach manners and common courtesy anymore. If I EVER kicked a store clerk [or anyone, for that matter] when I was a kid, I'd be hauled out of the store and spanked to heck and back. Oh, and that's another thing. Spanking is practically being considered abuse nowadays. Just verybally scolding a kid to make them stop isn't enough, it really isn't. A smack on the bum? That'll get them to shut up. [and yes, I was spanked as a kid. And I'm glad, else I woulda been a horrifying urchin.] My mother also works at a day-care. She can attest to how horrible kids these days are. It really has to do with how they are raised and how their parents approach punishment, if any.
Yeah, my parents were the same, if I had pulled a stunt like that kid in the store did, I would have gotten in so much trouble. Mine didn't spank, but they were quite strict about applying restrictions based on our behavior.
Which reminds me of a story from back in November. It was election day, and I was going off and voting [for the first time!]. It was unusually warm out, so I decided to wear shorts. Apparently some little girl I walked by didn't like that, as I heard her mutter "gross! Gross, lady!" as I walked by. Then as I walked past her, she was going "Hey! Helloooooooooooooooooo" as if she was trying to get me to notice her.
And that reminds me of a few times when I've had kids tell me I'm a nerd or a loser when I'm walking around carrying my Cello case. I ignore if of course, but it's kind of sad when the parents don't do anything at all when it's obvious they overheard their kid being a twit.
All the Articles I've read state that this game is ranked almost as highly as tales of the Abyss (which fans rank as the best tales game). Sadly I'm yet to confirm this first hand as I have to wait till end of June at the earliest for a PAL release.
And here I'm waiting until I actually have a console that can play the game. Still I've also heard that it's getting rated quite well. Anyway, I know people who have it and like they've said (looks at Beth) the graphics are beautiful. Plus it's nifty how they have voice overs for all of the skits. It just adds a nice touch to the game in my opinion. I look forward to eventually being able to play it instead of simply watching others have fun with it.
I'm bashing on Nerdsy[/COLOR']. I dunno what you guys are going on about. :p
Oh we know what you are doing. =P It's like a chain event and Gavin's not the only target. What's more important though is, what are you doing in here when you said you had finals for most of the afternoon? Get back to work!

I was reading this article: Today's tykes: Secure kids or rudest in history? And I would have shrugged it off if not for the story at the beginning. I've seen that kind of thing happen, more than once I might add. So naturally it got me thinking about whether or not there is any truth to what it says about parents worrying so much over self esteem that they neglect teaching compassion for others to their kids. I also found this little bit in the article interesting as well:
It is also worth underlining that rudeness can have more serious behavioral consequences. As a 2005 Yale study demonstrated, preschool students are expelled at a rate more than three times that of children in grades K-12 because of behavioral problems.
Though I would tend to just look at that more as a case of them still being too young at that age to grasp the necessity of behaving. So what do all of you think? Are today's kids rudest in history? I have seen plenty of cases of such behavior and yet at the same time, I'm not willing to look at all kids in that light. Either way, I can't deny that I do see the kind of behavior their talking about in the article all too often. The most recent example would be at the grocery store. Some kid (he looked to be six or seven) decided he was going to get candy period and snatched a bag off the shelf by the register as they were leaving. When the clerk noticed and moved to tell them they needed to pay for it, since they were leaving the store, the kid kicked the clerk and the mother just glared at him before finally taking the candy from her kid to hand over. Then she took her kid and stalked out of the store. She couldn't be bothered to reprimand her kid for kicking someone who was only doing his job, she didn't apologize either. o_O
Are we bashing on Ace? Cool!
Not really. More like a failed attempt to bash Gavin. But he's the evil overlord of Wal-Mart and could care less I'm sure. =P
This just in: Chibi Horsewoman has keeled over from shock and just up and died after reading Octopus Royalty's comment about there not being a Target in the area. Funeral arrangements will be made sometime in the near future in lieu of flowers please make donations of coffee and chocolate.
Well you're no fun. I would have picked out some nice flowers for the occasion. =P Speaking of wallets though, I have an older one that's worn out that I meant to toss. I found it tucked into one of the pockets of my satchel. I checked it before getting rid of it and found a twenty still inside. o_O

Naturally Gavin had no problem homing in on the intended spot. No need for him to pick apart the semantics of Ace's post either. =P

Rachmaninoff replied to Charles's topic in General Discussion
Well it's a little late (gotta love school and finals) but welcome to OtakuBoards everyone. If you ever have any questions, feel free to drop me a pm. In the mean time, I'm sure you'll find something you enjoy around here. =P -
Just a word of advice xxxscenekidxxx, if a thread is that old, don't revive it. Most of the time the person who started it isn't even around anymore. It's best to stick to the first couple of pages when replying to stuff. Thanks. Thread Closed

Right now I'm listening to this song from the ending of Portal since I picked up a copy of it earlier today.

I ran into this fun little clip earlier today. Hehe. -
I tend to just grab whatever is the easiest. Sometimes I actually have cereal around, other times it's leftovers from dinner the night before. Lately I've been eating grapenuts with banana slices in it. I don't like either one by itself all the much, but together they're quite tasty.

You know most salons have books with pictures of different hairstyles. Failing that, google is your friend. If you want pictures, start looking. Anyway, personally, I'm fine with a nice simple short hair cut that requires no fuss other than to wash it and comb it.
Also in the new rules I would like to institute a policy that all trolls must be licensed and sanctioned by me personally after a thorough, comprehensive test of their abilities. All those who fail the test are to be packed inside of deadSeraphim[/COLOR']'s locker.
Works for me. I get the impression that a test from you would just drive the person insane, so that in itself would be very amusing to watch. lol
Why is everything that happens in Utah SOMEHOW MY FAULT???
Because blaming someone else for stuff is fun? =P I do find Gavin's explanation rather amusing though. Anyway, just two more days and finals will be over. Then I get the fun of issuing grades, oh joy!

I have something similar to what Allamorph is talking about. It usually has an assortment of books and folders with papers in them for school. A handful of pencils and pens and random papers that I need to sort through so I can toss what I don't need. Hmmm, and one of the pockets has a little digital metronome and a couple of extra strings for my cello. o_O I forgot about those.
What's even more amusing is that if this thread was made back in, say, Version 2 of OB, it'd be a laugh riot and everyone would be replying "OMFG YES!!!11". I swear, it's all a factor of time :']
I've looked at some of those earlier posts you're alluding too. So I could totally see people agreeing with making something like that the new rules. =P
-
Ah Gavin, you have the response to this down perfectly... anyway... I'm going to assume you're kidding and that this is meant to get a laugh out of people. But if you're actually serious about it, let me know and I'll move this over to the Information Kiosk. I am curious about one thing though, have you even read the rules we currently have?
Apparently, 'Swine Flu' sounds too scary. Now it's called by its scientific name, H1N1.
I doubt that's going to catch on. People are too used to stuff like this: Flu tracking where you can see that everyone is calling it the swine flu. I'm kind of getting tired of hearing about it. Yes it's good to be informed, but after a while, it gets old since you keep hearing the same stories again and again, just from different sources.

Right now I'm listening to this: Shiny Toy Guns - Major Tom It was sent to me so I'm checking it out. It's not too bad for a remix of the original song.

I'll do what I always do for Mother's day. I'll end up getting her a gift and some flowers. We usually get some form of take out or fix dinner as well. That's always fun cause she tries to help so we just shoo her out of the way. =P
Symptom of the modern world economy don't you know.
And here I was thinking it's because members are either still at home (High School) or out going to College (which sucks you dry of money). Anyway, I have a twenty, my student ID and Driver's license. The usual debit and credit card and some photos.
