You can scratch out probable Crystia and change that to one confirmed case. At least for the Park City area. They're closing the schools in that area until the tenth. o_O They don't know about our area yet. I'm hoping they aren't cases of this flu, but I'm not going to hold my breathe either.

He could no more tell at this point if they were simply related to whoever built the metal spires or if it actually explained its function. There was one thing he was sure of, and that was that it had to be tied into what was keeping the valley at tropical temperatures. How else could everything be so overgrown? The wear on the metal spires indicated they had been there for a while as well. Plus many of the symbols were nearly worn smooth, leaving with him only part of the full symbol. However, that paled in comparison to the next discovery. He could hardly believe that he was looking at a metal man. Juste had come across many references in his studies, indicating that the Xear was highly advanced. One only had to look at what had happened in Czenovia to confirm that it was true. The terrible weapon used in the revolution may have been destroyed, but the stories about its horrifying destructive power had spread quickly among the survivors. Was the metal man also a weapon of some kind? Was it a sentinel meant to guard the spires? Or was it simply something to tend the area? He was trying to figure out the one symbol that was easiest to see when the pressure of him running his finger along it caused it to suddenly give way. He barely had time to realize that something was happening when Felix yanked him aside, putting himself between Juste and the metal man. ?[B]What have you done?[/B]? Felix cried. Juste winced as the metal man moved. ?[B]I don?t know! All I was doing was checking out the main symbol on its chest.[/B]? He clutched his leather-bound notebook tightly and cautiously inched backwards. Felix grasped the hilt of his saber as he back away as well. ?[B]You certainly have a talent for getting into trouble Juste.[/B]? He quipped seriously. The metal man was trying to get up, but the joints to one of its legs seemed to be rusted in place, preventing it from doing more than simply sitting up. Its head turned to face the group and Juste nearly jumped out of his skin when it spoke. [I]What in the world?[/I] It didn?t sound like anything he had ever heard before. ?[B]Well?[/B]? Felix asked, not taking his eyes off of the metal man. ?[B]You?re the language expert, what is it saying?[/B]? ?[B]How would I know?[/B]? Juste protested. Puzzled he watched as a small little coil come out of its right arm, aimed towards him. ?[B]Juste,[/B]? Felix said tersely, ?[B]back away, now.[/B]? He turned to look at Felix, and nodded, moving back the way he had come. With a whirl, the little coil moved back into the metal man?s arm. Curious he took a step back and then retreated when it started to respond again. ?[B]Well so much for that.[/B]? Juste sighed. The pair backed away, but other than to repeat its earlier phrase, the metal man made no attempt to follow them. ?[B]Now what? Should we move our camp?[/B]?

Just to let you know, I am alive and working on a post. I got side tracked by preparing for finals. I've now gotten that out of the way ([SIZE="1"]still have to take and give them in just under a week though[/SIZE]) so I'll work on getting my post up asap. I have a pretty light schedule for the next couple of days so I should be able to get it in before testing starts. [B]EDIT:[/B] and it's up. =P

Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it finally came down to someone doing this kind of thing over a speed camera on a freeway. [URL="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30436439/"][U]Slaying fuels debate over speed cameras in Ariz.[/U][/URL] I don't really care for them either, but to actually shoot and kill someone over it is just absurd. The way I see it is if you don't speed, you won't have an issue with them anyway. And yes I know that there are cases of them getting someone who wasn't speeding. I just think the reaction to it is way out of proportion. Anyway, should they get rid of the cameras? Considering that having an officer there full time is far more costly, I can see why they'd use cameras instead. So I don't have a problem with them being used.

I fell in and deployed a portal by reflex and went through it. o_O And no the toxic acid did not come out the other side... that was weird.

I think I'm going to save worrying over it until it really has caused more problems. I certainly hope it does not spread more, but it sounds like it already has. Only time will tell if it becomes a serious problem or not.

I can't agree with such a broad statement since it's making the assumption that there is nothing else going on that could have contributed to the problem.

I find it interesting that both entries ended up focusing on death and loss. Both works had things about them that I liked better than the other entry. You guys like to make it hard when it comes time to picking just one. For this I'm going to give my vote to [B]Anomaly[/B] since it stuck out in my mind the most. Great work, both of you.

Right now I'm playing [B]Portal[/B]. I started it before and never got back to it so I'm working on finally finishing it. Only one level left to go so it shouldn't be too hard. =P I had forgotten how much fun it is. When I'm finished, I'm going to go back and mess with the level that has turrets on it, just for the heck of it. Those things crack me up with all the little sayings they have. lol

[COLOR="Indigo"]Indi[/COLOR] got me started on [B]Glass Fleet[/B]. The animation is surprisingly well done and the theatrics and politics in it are very entertaining. That and the music so far is excellent stuff. Best part of all is it's up on Funimation's site so watching it is a snap.
