For some reason I've had trouble posting YouTube videos in general, even though everyone else's display correctly for me. *shrug* I'm not sure what that's about.
I've edited a number of posts for people in the Lounge since they didn't work, and usually it's a case of them putting the tag for the video in the wrong spot or putting the entire url when they only need the last bit for it to work. I don't know if that's what you're doing, but it's possible. o_O
I only sneeze once per. But then I sneeze very violently and scare people.
I only sneeze once as well. However, mine are not violent and I do not scare people ... weirdo. =P
How safe and responsible of you! In all seriousness, do try to drink responsibly. If you don't know what your limit is, prom night is probably not the best night to find out.
That's what I was just thinking. Anyway, when I went, I got dressed up in a tux. Wasn't the most comfortable attire, but I still had a good time with my date. I remember thinking the music was kind of meh, she liked it though.

You know, considering this statement in your signature
FAKE
Gavin:
Taking a leave of absence from April 15th to May 15th
I am now wondering just who the hell you are and why are you using Gavin's account and pretending to be him? :p
I guess I meant "front page" in a different sense. That feels more like a "behind the scenes" view than my usual idea of a front page. I'm trying to think of a way to explain what I meant, and failing at the moment.
I know what you mean. It may be there, but it doesn't feel like it really stands out. I also moderate in the chat room over there and when I mention OtakuBoards, most of the time the kids have no idea what I'm talking about, even though the link is right there on the main page. o_O
it wont make people quit it just forces us to pay more...
Sure it will. It may not be a lot, but people will quit. Like Nerdsy, a number of the smokers I know have quit because of the increase in prices. What I find ironic about it is if food and other expenses hadn't gone up as well in the past few years, the increase for smoking wouldn't have been such a big deal for some of my friends. But between all of it, they had to cut back somewhere.
Everywhere on the planet has needed less[/I'] lolcats for about two years now.
Agreed. And since Shy took the time to add this disclaimer at the beginning of the thread:
There is no topic, so therefore this thread can never go off-topic. [Update: Except for LOL Cat Pictures. Those are banned.][/b']
Let's keep any images like that restricted to links. Thanks. =P

Ugh, that's just terrible, that someone would feel so hopeless that they would kill themselves and leave their family behind. I agree with Gavin. Saddest part of all is that his daughter will have to grow up without him being around.
That's right, most of you don't know...I joined the Navy. Yes, I signed my life away to the masses of chaos and blame. Long live idiocy and power-hungry men who want the world and more.[/size']
I remember when you left and why you did. Just as I wondered if you would come back or not. It's good to see you again. :)

I guess I?ll start something more serious in here. I was reading this article here: Suicide group's manual urges celebrations And I couldn?t help but think why? Why would anyone think it was a bright idea to help people kill themselves? Now four members of this Final Exit Network have been arrested and according the the article: they face charges of assisted suicide, tampering with evidence and violating Georgia's anti-racketeering act. I can?t help but see it as a type of murder for them to help people do this and then actually try to make it look like they died from natural causes. Anyway, apparently they only help people who are legitimately suffering, but I just see it as being open for so many horrific mistakes. So what do all of you think of this? Is there any time that suicide is acceptable?
Is there some way to orchestrate a member drive? theO doesn't seem to have a front page anymore, so I'm not sure where the message would go, but it would be neat to have a week where there was a push on theO to encourage OB sign ups. Maybe with an accompanying "welcome" event on the OB?
The front page of theO is here: theOtaku And the nice thing about it is OtakuBoards has it's own link now. Whether or not that has helped bring in new members, that I don't know.

Gaming Anybody got Animal Crossing: City Folks?
Rachmaninoff replied to Picchick's topic in Noosphere
I'll probably move this to Video Game Archives later, but right now it won't let me add a thread there ;_;
You can't move threads. Also, Video Games Archives are for older discussions that are no longer active. What you want is the Arcade, our active section for games. So I'll go ahead and move this over there for you. -
And I'm thinking that there are more interesting things to talk about. Anyway, when it comes to pain... probably my worst experience was a broken leg from a car accident. Surgery and then casts for a few months was a royal pain in the butt.

And here I like that places are closed. I get Sunday's off anyway, but it just makes it easier to get together with my friends who don't normally get the day off.

I heard that Easter was originally a pagan holiday?
Oho. Watch out there, Lee. You incurred some wrath there. *Guffaw*
I didn't see any wrath. I saw a polite response to someone poking fun of religion in general (and yes it came across as very sarcastic to me and I'm not religious). Considering how easily that opening could have been taken the wrong way, Sabre's response was anything but wrathful. And there's no getting around the fact that Sabre didn't start it either. It's quite simple really, either Rosencavalier meant it as an insult, or it was them joking around. But that's not so easy to determine with someone you've only just met, especially online. Responsibility goes both ways, as Nerdsy already pointed out. :/ -
Horoscopes yo!!! Do you read them?
Rachmaninoff replied to xxxscenekidxxx's topic in General Discussion
No, I don't read them. About once or twice a year I'll look out of curiosity. Then I laugh at how absurd they are. I don't look into other stuff like palm reading either. -
If you're not willing to take responsibility at a young age, you're not that likely to do so later in life.
I don't think it's as cut and dried as that. Hence why they're considered minors in the first place. They lack the maturity to fully comprehend the consequences of their actions. I'm quite sure a lot of them do grow up as it were. =P
This sounds like a case of mom deciding to give the finger to her ex by supporting the crazy idea of her daughter suing him over punishment merited out for her behavior.
That thought crossed my mind as well. I've seen divorced parents do some crazy as hell stuff to get back at the other one, regardless of whether or not it screws their kids over in the process.
tl;dr. Point there is that those who truly desire to control themselves will find a way to do so, whether it be through their own power or through seeking outside intervention. (Neither of which is better or worse than the other.) Those who are afraid of losing control . . . will typically lose control. I could go into the psychosomatic part, but I've blithered a while already, and I need a nap.
tl;dr ... I kid, I kid.. Basically, without the long explanation, I think most of us got what you meant the first time around. Anyway, I trust you did wander off and get that nap after all? =P

It decided to snow today... oh joy. [/sarcasm]

Like many others here, I don't. It's just another Sunday. About the only difference is I'll spend time with my family since they do like to celebrate it. Though usually my involvement is merely going over for dinner and to catch up on how everyone is doing.

Let's see, basically what he's saying is... paparazzo = zombie Works for me. =P

Okay, there's the lead in that you were asking for Beth. I'm assuming that works. o_O Oh and just cause Alex is going to ask Nathan about his scythe, doesn't mean it will do him any good. =P It's just bugging him now since he has a gut feeling telling him there should be more to it. Doesn't mean there is. XP

On The Prowl Alex was sitting on the edge of the roof to the building he lived in as he examined his scythe, lost in thought. He couldn?t get what Chris had said out of his mind?
?Yes. Originally our scythes were . . . more, umm, scythe-like,? she answered. ?Bigger, and more like what Alex uses. Except without the little,? she made an obscure gesture in his direction, ?things on the back.?
It had never occurred to him that one could change the shape of their scythe. Nall had been right; he still didn?t know what the three floating points did. But he had never considered the possibility of them changing in some manner, or rather, more than they already were by virtue of not being directly attached to the rest of his scythe. ?You?re just going to give yourself a headache if you keep thinking about that,? Nall twitted him. Alex glanced at Nall and choose to ignore him as he let his scythe go, sending it back to it's resting place, before taking off to head for where they were to meet Adrian and Astera. Of course he had no idea what, if anything, it could do. No one knew. He couldn?t even confirm if any of the ideas he had would work. He didn?t know how to actually go about testing it. ?Oh come on Alex,? Nall said contritely. ?I was only kidding.? ?I know. I just wish I could figure out if they actually serve a purpose.? ?Why do they have to have a purpose?? Nall maneuvered until he was able to land on Alex?s left shoulder. ?Everyone?s scythe is different, that?s probably all there is to it.? ?I don?t know, it just seems like it should have a purpose. That?s all.? Alex sighed, ?It doesn?t matter. I?m going to talk to Nathan about it when I see him again. Maybe he would know.? He put it out of mind as he came down to land on the rooftop near their starting point for yet another run through the traffic. Adrian and Astera were already there waiting for them. ?You?re late,? Adrian joked. He didn?t look upset, just amused as he handed him a map of the city to look at. This time, Adrian had made the route for them to follow. ?Yeah, sorry about that.? He said as he started opening up the map to take a look. He had it halfway open when a familiar aura caught his attention. Alex looked up at the same time the others turned to look as well. ?Is she going to do this with us?? Alex asked. ?Not that I?m aware of,? Adrian said. He folded the map and tucked it into his pocket, Alex doing the same as Lucia and Ruby came in to land on the roof.
