1. Boo... o_O Your entry is just... weird. I kind of like it and I kind of don't. I don't know how to even describe it. ^^ Haku877, to be honest, though I like the concept, I didn't care for the transparency issues. That just puts me off when I look at it. Seeing stars in his face feels off. I think I'm going to vote for KimmehWolfwood since I like the comic feel to it. Other than the font I think it goes together rather well.
 2.
I think this specific instance is of concern because Israel did not let in any foreign journalists to cover an extremely pressing and controversial military operation... this really hasn't been done by the west in the recent past. Sure, nations may pressure journalists to omit certain things, or try to steer them, but the fact remains they were still given the ability to even have access to the conflict zone.
I think we are misunderstanding one another. I questioned the site's legitimacy and reliability, not the knowledge that Israel censored and kept journalists out. That's old news Retri. o_O I already knew about that since the concern over that has been brought up many times since the conflict began.
 3. You kind of glossed over this part of my post:
Also, what government doesn't censor some of their news? Especially if it's related to military operations. That shouldn't be a surprise if you think about it.

Even though a blog is by no means a veritable source, what he says is correct. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jan/10/gaza-israel-reporters-foreign-journalists I remember reading about it on BBC, but couldn't find the article in an abbreviated search, so I settled for this instead.
I didn't say he was wrong, I said I doubted whether or not the source could be trusted. Anything like that is something I'm going to read with the mindset of it's not official and therefore has a high potential to be incorrect.
 4.
You mean like how every artist out there sings Amazing Grace and makes up their own tempo as they go along? Yeah, I can see how that would get annoying. *nods* There are some artists whose religious songs I do like, but I don't know if they fall in the category of "popular": I like Enya's "How can I keep from singing?" and I also heard Michael Crawford sing some hymns. They were beautiful. Gosh, his voice is to die for. *_*
That is precisely what I'm talking about. I've moved completely to older renditions, when I actually do bother to listen to music like that, instead of attempts to popularize it. Net result, that kind of music is something I rarely listen to. I'm not really religious anymore either, so some of the lyrics/message just grates on my nerves as well, no matter how pretty or nicely done it is.
 5. I prefer dubs if possible. I like hearing things in my own language. I avoid subs unless the voices are awful or the translation is heavily edited. Though for stuff that's currently airing, subs are obviously the only way I'm going to be able to watch it. Bottom line though, I like watching the show instead of reading and watching. And if I'm trying to multi-task at all, dubs are a must since I don't understand Japanese. =P
 6.
The biggest issue to me is his bequeathing of the feathers. Did he store them in the magic itself? And if so, will they separate when they reunite with Sakura, or will Fai need to sacrifice that again to allow her soul to fully reintegrate?
This is what makes it so much fun. They always have something that you're just dying to know how they're going to resolve it. Also... COLOR. That's gonna be sweet. EDIT: Okay... no color other than the beginning page and ending page. That just sucked. I would have liked to see more than just that. Anyway... So Fai got his magic back and Fei Wong, was not Fei Wong but someone else? I should have known it would be far to easy for him to die so quickly. o_O
 7. I honestly do not care if it's used or not. However since I think we don't need it, I voted no on it. The others have said it already, quality is not only hard to determine, but very subjective so it wouldn't be all that accurate anyway. Popularity contests never are.
 8. All this thread does is remind me that I so rarely use mine. I have my main one that is just for personal stuff and it rarely gets updated. Then I have a second one for reviews on classical music. So far I've only put up one review. I just keep getting too busy to do more.
 9. Well apparently he has decided to give a speech according to this: Blagojevich plans ?passionate? speech at trial Though according to the article, he can't be bothered to testify on his behave. Maybe that's because he'd have to take an oath and answer questions. Nope, he's going to give them a closing statement instead. Also, I find how they censored the quote at the trial hilarious. lol Or they did that for the article, either way, it's amusing. Just as his running around to various shows was pretty much a circus. It would have made less of an impact if he'd just owned up and went to his own trial. Even if they somehow find him innocent, no one will believe it after all of that nonsense.
 10.
I was surprised to learn that Israel censors military info and even banned international reporters from conflict areas. Here is an underground site called Israeli Uncensored News http://samsonblinded.org/news[/url'] which runs some very odd reports.
I'm surprised that you're taking someone's personal blog as a legitimate source of information. I tried looking through that and other than to link back to themselves, nothing led to any outside sources of information. There wasn't anything to back up what any of the snippets said. Also, what government doesn't censor some of their news? Especially if it's related to military operations. That shouldn't be a surprise if you think about it.
 11. I don't really read a lot of manga let alone collect it. I have some of the first season for Yu-Gi-Oh and a few volumes of Tsubasa. Other than to eventually getting around to collecting all of those series... that's all I have in mind. I might start collecting xxxHolic, but we'll see. I tend to spend my money on music instead of books. >_>
 12.
Finally, since there seems to be some actual interest in this plan, would anyone object to my adding a poll to this thread so we can take a more formal vote on enabling reputation?
I certainly don't object. I wouldn't object if you went ahead and just enabled it. If anything, it could simply be a trial run to see how it goes. I'm still going to get my impression of people off of how they post anyway so it won't make any difference in that respect. =P
 13. Welcome back then dranixe. It's always nice to see people return. And welcome to OtakuBoards yuuki desu. If either one of you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. In the meantime, take a look around and join in. I'm sure you both will find something you enjoy.
 14. Not much really. Just my wallet with my ID and such. Then I have the keys to my apartment and other places. That about covers it.
 15.
Allamorph...3 words and a smiley for you. Wall of text.:animedepr
If you read that entire post... *gives you a cookie* Anyway, since so much has already been said...
Um, I'm in support of the death penalty for especially heinous crimes. It's a difficult decision to make, but there are those who are beyond any redemption or help. Any opposition I have towards the death penalty is really towards the complicated judicial system which convicts a man to death, only to allow him to spend the next 20 years making appeals. -Shy
I'll go with that since it fits exactly what I think of the death penalty.
 16. Welcome to OtakuBoards skllngtn and TwilightZelda. We've got lots to do around here so I'm sure you'll both enjoy your stay. If either of you need any help, feel free to ask. And again, welcome.
 17.
Quite frankly, your pessimistic view is a load of crap. I really did start this thread in the hope to get good discussion from it... but people, such as yourself, have tried to stop that.
This really sums up the problem, you have a history of dismissing others simply because they don't view things the same. I know you like to see it otherwise, but you often come back with you're wrong or your point is crap just for the sake of continuing the discussion/argument. It's not that people aren't interested in the discussion, they've already seen how you operate. I'm not trying to be mean, but you're already dismissing people's concerns that you had no interest other than to start an argument. It's also why we end up fighting too remember? =P So they're not interested, it's not the end of the world, however I will say this... Guys, if you don't want to discuss it, how about not bothering to reply to the thread in the first place? It's not that hard really.
 18. Hmmm, does this mean you've returned DB? Or just poking your head in for the name change? =P Anyway... Other than to continue with Tales of the Abyss I don't have any plans to watch other shows. Though my schedule just changed for the semester, resulting in having nothing on Fridays and therefore three day weekends. So I might change my mind. I'm not sure what to chose though.
 19. By the time I started watching any anime, I was already living out on my own and attending college. So the parent approve/disapprove deal never came up. And I honestly can't remember if they cared if my siblings watched stuff like that or not. I'd have to ask.
 20.
W-Wait. ohgodwhatifsomeonehaxx0rsmeandchangesittosomethingdumblikehahaha
Uh, you do know that Des CAN do that right? o_O That's like begging him to prank you right there. And no I am not giving Des ideas on how to prank other people in some futile attempt to protect myself. >_> Anyway, I'm happy with the option to turn mine off so thanks again for that.
 21.
I woke up early to watch the ceremonies, and even though a lot of the time was filled with newsmen blathering about equality, I enjoyed it greatly. This is an important milestone in my nation's history, and I'm glad it happened within my lifetime. [strike]Twenty[/strike] even five years ago this sort of thing would have been impossible. Fun fact: There are exactly four black people in the entire world who were not interviewed on camera about the inauguration today. Hello television, this is an important day not just for blacks but for all minorities. Diversity is a two-way street... -Shy
I did the same. I personally think it's great that they did as much as possible so as many people as possible could be there. People can whine that no one in the past got such treatment, but the fact still remains, he's the first black president and that's something I'm glad to see happen. It's long overdue in my opinion. Just as I think it's understandable that people are excited about it.
 22.
Oh yeah, and I am not so sure about the whole hiding thing. As said, the only reason would be aesthetics (same reason why I do not have any of my Otaku profiles linked), because by hiding it while others do not, you only make people wonder what your post count is and why you hide it. :^D
Exactly, it [strike]has nothing to do with my posting here waaaay to much >_
 23. Since this isn't quite the discussion of sea kittens but is still fun...
 24. Shy: I think you did a nice job of giving a short look into a mothers life and yet leaving a few unknowns in there that tugged at your mind, leaving you wondering just what kind of story it was. pfisland: Though I feel you captured the emotion of feeling like you have nothing and no one cares really well, it felt a bit off for a sixth grader and the cirumstances just doesn't come across as very believable. I vote for Shy.
 25. Rexikat XVI: I think you did a nice job getting to the despair one can feel after losing everyone they cared for. It felt a little rushed at the end but it was still nicely done. DeLarge: As much as I like how well you painted the scene, I kept wondering who the hell the person was. The short brief mention at the end was so... well short, that I just couldn't feel connected to it at all. I vote for Rexikat XVI.
