1. Oh this so speaks for itself. =P
 2. Feels like this today.
 3. Well here's hoping it all works out in addition to congratulations. Just let us know how it goes once everything has been confirmed. I imagine that getting to see the baby grow up as well as being a part of their lives will be a great opportunity. So, best of luck.
 4.
And I don't see how voting on prop 8 is a neccesary step to legalizing gay marriage.
Not one person here has said that prop 8 was necessary. The only thing they have eluded to was that it only proved that a concession or rather granting gay marriage rights was necessary. To prevent states from passing legislation like that.
It seems everyone else here would be just happy with this issue getting caught up in the system for another 20 years.
Now you're just being silly. By realizing it's going to take a genuine legal battle to get rights for all gays doesn't mean anyone is 'happy' it only means we've realized that it can't be undone so easily. Don't go assuming that anyone here is okay with gay's being denied marriage just because we don't seem to be as riled up as others are on the topic. You're assuming that we aren't disgusted with it because we're not saying much. When it's really a case where we find being involved in things like this, a better use of our time. Gay Leaders in Utah Plan 5-Bill Attack in Legislature I see work like that as being far more useful than ranting on a message board. By taking the steps necessary to work on getting those rights that were taken away restored, it's doing something to reverse what was done. Being calm doesn't mean we've accepted it, only that like Aaryanna said, we see no reason to get in a tizzy and be angry over something when it serves no purpose.
 5. My plans are the same really, spending time with friends and family. The only difference this year is it looks my parents are going to travel to where my older brother lives up in Idaho. And though I think it would be fun, I'd rather stay here, even if that means making my own food this year.
 6. *moves thread* I heard about that, the news that Tennant was quiting, but not about who the replacement was. I suppose it was only a matter of time before they ended up with someone else. I just figured it would be longer before that happened since Tennant has been very popular among the fans. Seeing this thread reminds me that I've yet to watch season four. I should fix that.
 7. o_O So wrong and yet so funny.
 8.
Actually, its not only that. I'm so incredibly tired of hearing about the freakin election all the time.
That's what I figured, that it was really more of people ready to move on and being subjected to it by others continually bringing it up. Much like this thread. Though that wasn't really my intent. o_O
All this election stuff is making my stomach ill...does that count as post-election blues?
Possibly, I can't say it's had that kind of effect on me but then I get so busy with other things in my life that when it does crop up, it's just a tiny part of my day instead of running into it all the time. Anyway, thanks for the input, especially since both of you are sick of the whole deal. So I'm sure you looked at this thread and just groaned at yet another election thing. @Beth: Apathy for the win? =P
 9.
I still disagree with allowing a proposition which denies the rights of others. It's just how I feel..
Then we are in agreement. I'm just not in favor of getting rid of the process, or attempting to force a filter on it based on the potential to deny the rights of others. Now before you answer that bit, just to be clear I do think it's a clear case of doing that in regards to prohibiting same sex marriage. And I do grow tired of seeing it happen in state after state. We had a similar law end up being passed here in Utah back in 2004, which I voted against btw. I just think it's obvious that we still have a long way to go in terms of something like gay marriage being legal. Oh and to be clear, taking away the vote aspect doesn't guarantee that those who are higher up won't turn around and implement the exact same thing, but that was covered already.
 10. Indi sent me a link to some music so it's what I'm listening to at the moment. Once I'm done with this song: Mosane Pi ,E.S. Posthumus I'll probably follow some of the other links for other songs by the same group. Though I'm pretty sure I've heard it before at one point since it sounds so familiar. Or perhaps it's only because I'm sure Allamorph pointed me in the direction of their other album Unearthed at one time.
 11.
How is it fair to allow people to vote on the civil rights of fellow American citizens? This shouldn't be about "what people want", this is about EQUAL RIGHTS. That's all. This isn't like voting for your favorite color of M&M; this is someone's life. It shouldn't be in the hands of the public. And it's not about people not being allowed to vote on this issue "because you say so", it's about not letting the majority inhibit the rights of the minority. Every civil rights law ever passed has passed without the vote of the people.
You missed her point completely, she didn't say it was fair, she said that's how the law currently works. Saying it's equal rights and using the system to make it fact, doesn't mean you can turn around and toss out the system just because you say so... You have to prove it. And until that is done, the legal process isn't going to come to a halt. History has proven time and time again that when the majority makes a move like this, it requires effort to get that changed. So basically she's saying she agrees that it's wrong to deny them rights, only that you can't just casually change how the process works. That would lead to more confusion because flawed or not the system works. The reality is that the majority does win, until someone fights it and pushes for a change. It's easier for say you and me, but for those who have been around longer and gone through the phases of homosexuality is a mental disorder in addition to being morally wrong based on religious beliefs, it's not going to happen so easily and some may never change their opinion on it, ever. I think it's wrong to deny them equal rights based on sexual orientation, you think it's wrong, but others do not agree and I'm not going to dismiss what they think just because I don't agree. I'll use the legal system to push for such laws that discriminate to be repealed.
 12. Oh if only. lol Looks like they need a new sign, like many states. =P
 13. Sounds about right. =P
 14.
Hes leaving in 3 months to move across the country.
I have one question really, is this move permanent or merely temporary? Because it sounds like he's just uncertain about how that's going to work out. I mean who wouldn't be? Especially if that move was for good. If it's only temporary, it's still similar, being apart for long periods of time is difficult. My only advice would be to actually talk to him about it, oh and this:
And after that, remember that you should not follow most of the advices from people off the internet, regarding your own life. :whoops:
I'd listen to this more than anything and do your best to work through it yourself. It's a little hard for any of us to give you relevant advice when we don't really know you or him, or the full circumstances of what's going on. And even then, we're still not qualified to counsel someone.
 15.
I do hope I'm incorrect, but I do fear that we will see many more of these on the ballots in the years to come. Hopefully, however, they will be shot down and California will repeal their repeal.
This isn't completely accurate but it represents it well enough: Same-sex marriage legislation in the US by state But this kind of thing already is pretty prevalent in the US. Adding on more laws to make sure gays will never have the right to any form of marriage.
 16. I don't agree with such amendments since they cross over the line and remove the separation of church and state that needs to be there. It's one thing for a religious organization to refuse to marry gays, but to deny them state marriages is just wrong in my opinion. I'm not the only one to think so since the involvement of the LDS church in telling members to back it resulted in protests here in SLC over the weekend. o_O However, I also worry over the tendency to automatically point fingers at Christians when being one, doesn't automatically mean they all think it's okay to attempt to force their morals on others by using the government as a means. It's pretty clear that it's a religious issue, but not everyone who is religious is over that far on the right. To the point of attempting to regulate others. It's just a pity that those who do, make the rest of them look like ignorant idiots.
 17. So very true...

 19. Fatal Error ?Don?t you think it?s time I went back?? Patrick didn?t bother to turn and face the Reaper who had ghosted into his apartment. He kept staring out at the city, reaching up to first scratch Terry on the head and then Fiero. He could hear the sound of footsteps as the non-descript grim approached and then stopped so they were just behind him and to the right. Patrick nodded to Terry and Fiero who took off, vanishing from sight as they took to the skies. ?Are you tired of the assignment?? Patrick frowned. ?I?m not tired of it; it?s just that I haven?t picked up anything new in the past two years. The remains of that Count?s network are long gone.? He finally turned just enough to face him. Not that there was anything remarkable about him, with short sandy brown hair and eyes. His medium build and plain workers clothing was something that would blend in no matter where he went. ?I?ve been telling you how the others are as well, but they?re not even around at the moment and it?s not like their activities really matter. It?s obvious they?ve gone back fulfilling their normal duties.? He sighed and turned back to looking out. ?Are you certain there aren?t any other vampires about then?? The Shinigami asked. ?Of course not.? Patrick snorted. ?I?m just saying that if there are, they?re either staying carefully hidden, or they?ve moved on. I can keep looking around but after two years of finding nothing but silly political backstabbing on the human?s part, I think I?m wasting my time here.? ?In that case how about you take care of some other 'small' matters?? ?Other matters?? Confused he turned to face him again, ?What are you talking about?? ?It?s really simple,? he leaned forward, lowered his voice and told him. ?You want me to do what?? Patrick pulled back in surprise, ?Are you out of your mind? I thought that kind of interference was unacceptable.? ?Normally it is,? the man soothed. ?However, there are times when it?s necessary and this is why?? Patrick could feel Terry and Fiero approaching as the Reaper quickly explained. It both made sense and didn?t make sense, but he had been told up front that he would have unusual duties this time around. The sooner I get this done, the quicker I can return to the other side. He wondered what Terry and Fiero would think of it though. He winced inwardly at the thought. Necessary or not, those two would not approve. ?Alright, I?ll take care of it.? He said as Terry and Fiero entered the apartment. The reaper didn?t bother to answer. He nodded in return and then simply took off, ghosting through the ceiling, a moment later and even the feel of his aura was gone. For the longest time Patrick stared at the spot in the ceiling before he finally turned back to watching the city.
 20. When I saw this article here: What do you do about post-election blues? I have to admit it initially surprised me. Probably because other than to notice who wins in an election, I've never considered it a major factor in determining my own happiness. I do remember feeling disappointed in the first election I voted in since the party I voted for lost, but nothing like what some of the people in that article are describing. So that got me wondering if anyone around here actually had profound changes in how they felt after the election ended. Personally I was rather thrilled since it's the first time a candidate I backed actually won. That was pretty much it though, nothing else. Because like it says here in the article:
"If people want changes, they can do that in their day-to-day lives. They don't need a candidate to do that."
In the end, I've never considered an election, of any kind, to be the driving force for change in my own life. So, what about the rest of you?
 21.
I was wondering, anyone here play piano? if so, for how long? and, if you do(or if you don't (it doesn't matter)) how do you like it? would you play any other instrument? i play piano, and i've been playing piano for about three and a half years. i like it so far and i also want to play the alto sax.:catgirl:
Not really, I can read the music just fine, but I never learned how to actually play more than picking out a simple melody or certain notes. The main reason I never took the time to learn more is on account of putting all of my serious time into learning to play the cello. I've picked up on how to play guitar and a few other things, I just never got back to learning more about the piano at all. If I ever get a little less busy, I might take the time to do so, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
 22. Boo at work in the Art Studio. 23.
After this chapter though I thinking that maybe the reason that Sakura is "soulless" is primarily because of the fact that she is frozen in time. I can't really think of how to explain this right now, but when I do I might come back and explain it if I remember.
That's what I was just thinking after reading the latest chapter. Her soul is stuck in that moment when time was frozen. I was already leaning towards that idea and seeing that chapter only re-enforced it. If what you are talking about with memories creating a soul is correct Kei, would that potentially mean there is now a duplicate of her soul? If so, that would leave us with the original soul that is still stuck in time and the duplicate that was created via memories/interactions.
 24.
Then he's no longer invited to dinner. He'll have to stand and play a soothing composition whilst (yes whilst) we enjoy our creepy yet satisfying meal.
Wait... wut? o_O *doesn't recall agreeing to even come let alone play* Or is this one of those, too bad, you're stuck kind of deals? If it is, no Canon! And yes I know that's for more than just a cello...
 25. Okay, the general consensus, based on AIM conversations, is that it wouldn't matter if it's the same day... So naturally this damn post is refusing to cooperate with me. I've only re-written parts of it three or four times. It just does not want to come together. Oh well, if I get it in there fine, if not... also fine. EDIT: And I finally got it to cooperate.
