1. I just find this one amusing.
 2.
What do I think should be done about this? It would be fantastic if they realized internally that this isn't right and changed it of their own accord, but I don't think that will happen. So, what should we do? Absolutely nothing... I understand and respect the rights that these people have to hold their beliefs and practice/enforce them. I just think it's a damn shame is all.
Though it would be good if they saw it for themselves, sitting back and doing nothing... changes nothing. To some degree, members of any religion have a right to question how authority is distributed among the members. Good example would be the Mormon religion I grew up with. Until the 70's black men were denied the right to hold any form of authority. And though it may seem barbaric, it's not like it hasn't changed drastically over the years: Click It's just a basic list of when women started gaining that right. Still it is interesting to see that it is changing, just not as quickly as some would like.
 3. And Basement Cat is undone. =P Not really, it's just cute. Princess Leia Kitty! lol
 4.
In a lot of RPGs, you can custom build your character by deciding which stats go where. A character who is focused heavily on a single aspect is called a "pure".
I'm at a loss as to how you even thought people would put that connection together. Plus Video games are not real so using them as a model for what's considered pure for a discussion over something that is real, like tattoos on people... just seems ludicrous in my opinion.
 5.
It's kind of lame that this thread is 7 pages long and most pictures are the same 6 people. >.> Charles Chabichou James SaiyanPrincessX and The Boss kuja
The rules don't require members to do someone else if a person has already been done, plus people have different images of how they see a person. Just as expecting people to know older members who don't even post anymore is too. And since I haven't done one of the other Darren, I'm going to do so. 6. Hi and welcome to OtakuBoards sasusakulover18. In regards to your questions, I'm assuming you mean theOtaku or rather your world there? If you're talking about fan art, wallpapers or e-cards, just go to their section and chose the submit button and follow the directions. If that's not what you want to know, please clarify just where and what you wish to put up. Anyway, again welcome to the site. If you have questions about OtakuBoards, just let us know and we'll help you out with those too.
 7.
Saying you're going to keep yourself pure by the way, implies a sort of arrogance against all piercings and belies a sort of prejudice. Not that there's anything truly wrong with that, but on the other hand, it's a common theme among socially conservative people. Misunderstanding, partially a call to the "body is a temple of the Holy Spirit." Am I wrong?
I can't speak for Crimson Spider, but for the Mormon religion that I use to belong to, the concept of keeping your body pure (which includes more than not putting tattoos or piercings on it) is solely a religious concept. For them, it's a way of honoring the gift of life and isn't meant to be arrogant. Though people who aren't socially conservative might see it that way, and sadly some people do look down on body modifications. Most of us really don't care one way or the other though. For myself, religion has nothing to do with it. I've never been interested in modification of any kind. You could say religion influenced that, but even though I left that behind nearly seven years ago, I still have no interest. It just doesn't appeal, at least not for myself.
 8. The Golden Compass. I saw it because I was curious (there was a fuss over people trying to get it banned here) but ended up disappointed in it. The actual movie started out fairly well and the steam punk imagery was neat. But it was pretty clear before long that if you hadn't read the book, you weren't going to know what the hell was really going on. So I managed to watch it to the end but it wasn't worth it. At first I though, meh, worth watching once, but the more I think about it, the more I lean towards the thought that it would have been better if I had never seen it at all.
 9. Welcome or should I say welcome back Seancore. Depending on how long you've been gone, things have changed quite a bit, still I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Welcome to you too Little_Miss_Laz. Just look around and I'm sure you'll find something you like. If either one of you has any questions, just let us know. In the meantime, sit back, relax and have a good time here at OtakuBoards.
 10. When you talk, this is what your cat thinks. =P If only. 11. Get back on topic people. And chibi-master your advice to Allamorph only proves you need to be older before you hand out fashion advice. If you want to continue that line, take it to pm's. Thanks. Anyway, even if I don't dress up, I always do something for Halloween. =P It's my birthday after all so I end up going to a Halloween party. Whether or not I bother to actually dress up is another matter. I always did when I was younger. Now I just enjoying the watching absurd scary movies that really aren't scary at all.
 12.
Whether i like it or not is very relevant. The relevancy of it is proven by the amount of time i've had to spend trying to get the opinion out of stubborn people. But in no way is that an insult. I'm probably the most stubborn of them all. =D You know that, Rach.
No that just shows you still have to argue and do this:
I assure you, my motivation isn't anything as juvenile as "getting the last word in." I simply wish to debate whatever the subject may be until i either bore of it or i feel that it has been settled. The only problem is how rarely that happens with me. ;D But... don't you wish you still were a child? Overlooking sounding corny, there really is beauty in the innocence and pure joy of a child.
And yes I know you argue endlessly, even if there's nothing to argue over. As for the last part, no, I prefer being an adult. And finally:
I don't believe in any of that sort of stuff. Have you ever heard the quote, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof."? I think for anybody to take such claims seriously would require substantial evidence to back it up beyond anecdotal evidence. Even so, it's interesting to think about. But when it comes down to it i think the more likely explanation is that people are just imaginative.
Sounds like you need to do some backing up on the whole idea of Aliens even existing because in reality, it's an extraordinary claim that has no extraordinary proof whatsoever. Sounds pretty similar to other opinions that you were not interested in because they refused to come up with possible ideas about aliens. If your so willing to have an opinion on Aliens possibly existing, why toss out other nonsensical theories as well? Sounds like you're refusing to be imaginative. =P
 13.
This could be why America is one of the least happiest countries in the world (Canada isn't that far behind) because we're stuck doing things we hate because we need the almighty paycheck (BTW- mine sucked and this coming week I only have 24hrs- anyone want a used PS2 and a DDR game w/ pad?) to pay off our bills and the debt we've ecrewed (is that the correct term?) while in school learning to do what we loath so we can make a living, pray for the weekend, and work ourselves into an early grave. (I almost did that last year doing what I love which is being an HHA- but 70 hours a week can be hell on you and your vehicle)
I was actually driving more towards the notion that not having your "ideal/perfect" job didn't mean you couldn't be happy. I'm just saying that even if it's not your favorite thing to do, so long as you make more than enough to make ends meet, it's the other things in life that are what make it worth while. I've had plenty of jobs before what I do now that I didn't care for. It didn't instantly make me unhappy though. Usually what drove me more insane than anything in a job wasn't the actual work but other co-workers or managers or the silly customers I had to deal with.
 14.
Let me just preface all posts here with a disclaimer: Do not use the internet for health advice. Some people may know what they're talking about, but it's the nature of the human body to express similar symptoms for hundreds of different ailments. Internet = turns people into hypochondriacs Bottom line: Stick it out. Your body will adapt. It's going to be hard for a long time, but after a month there will be a noticeable improvement. If your fatigue continues to be a serious problem, however, you may want to consult your physician : )
The bolded/underlined parts are my advice to you. In other words, I agree with liamc2. Don't trust or expect anyone here to really know what they are talking about. And if the problem persists or gets worse, go and talk to someone who does know.
 15.
I did, on the other hand, say that that opinion is a lousy one and not one that i'm interested in on this subject. Damn...
Too bad, people certainly don't need to change their opinion to suit or fit what you find interesting. (And no I'm not saying you said that but you did ask what people thought and they told you, whether you like it or not is irrelevant). Just as thinking it is lousy is only your opinion and nothing else. Your inability to accept others thoughts without telling them they are wrong somehow is what I find lousy. Also known as "getting the last word in". Anyway, ironically this bit here:
The statement "based on the lack of information, I feel that the forming of an opinion which is highly likely to be biased, fantastical, and false is a waste of time" is a legitimate opinion. In this case, it's also known as "we'll find out when they get here".
Is exactly what I think of the whole Aliens spiel. Though some stubbornly insist that they have to do more than that. But I gave up on turning flights of fancy into a legitimate opinion long ago. I'm not a child anymore after all.
 16.
Don't forget your aluminum hat.
Or one of these, can't let those transmissions get to you after all. =P All joking aside, I really don't see a problem with it.
 17. It's always the wind's fault. =P Well when you're a kid, you can always find something to blame, even if the parent knows better. lol
 18. Putting all the cynicism in this thread aside... the whole point of getting a job that pays more is so you can actually afford to do what you enjoy when you have time off. If you can also have a job that is what you really want to do then even better. If you can't, then finding something that pays well and is tolerable is the next best thing in my opinion. Anyway... When I finish school, I'd like to continue what I'm already doing, and that is teaching. I'd prefer a university setting, but I'll be looking at other options as well since so long as I make enough to pay the bills and have extra for fun stuff, I'm fine with that.
 19. I can take a guess at what Sabrina was referring to. We've got some group running around campus handing out flyer's on how Digital broadcasts apparently will have subliminal messages in them. I think most people just laugh at it since other than to say it would tell you what to buy and who to vote for, they didn't have any real reasoning behind why they think that will actually be the case. Anyway, others have already mentioned how digital is better and how it doesn't affect actual content and so forth. I get cable myself so I won't need a new TV and the switch over won't affect me at all. I already get digital and have for quite a while. I just don't have a HDTV and my older analog TV works just fine with the cable box.
 20.
Yes I know it's not a heavy rock/metal song... Shaddup
Actually since I know you actually do like Rachmaninoff's second Piano Concerto, I'm not surprised you gave this a whirl. Instead of killing it after 30 seconds like you usually do. *pokes you* It has quotes from the moderato or rather first moment of Rachmaninoff's piece. =P And since I'm here, I'm now listening to it as well. Heh.
 21.
By the way, this really doesn't count as asexuality, there is still fertilization involved.
I wasn't looking for total accuracy, just a shorter title than the article. =P
If[/I'] there is a God. Explain all the wonders of nature.
It's called science, and we're still learning. Just because we don't understand something fully, it doesn't mean there has to be someone who created it. Falling back on saying "God" created it is a cop out in my opinion.
 22. You just know that this is what cats really think of humans.
 23. This would so be Ace, thinking he had the upper hand and going... Hell! =P Ace
 24. I ran across this article the other day: Death of the father: British scientists discover how to turn women's bone marrow into sperm The whole idea is that they apparently can use a woman's bone marrow to create sperm. Basically, using artificial means for babies being born. I'm curious about a couple of things here. Whether or not you've heard about this and if you have what you think of it. I don't recall reading about this before so I'm not sure what I think. I'll have to read up on it before I say much either way. On the surface, looking past the obvious issues of defects and so forth, I don't really have an issue with the idea. Though that could change once I learn more about it. Anyway, your thoughts?
 25.
DONE! That was really hard work. Enjoy your giggles, Rach!:animesmil
Of course, it's always fun when you play with the formatting for effect. =P It makes it more interesting to read. Well for that paticular prank that is.
