1.
Your descendants will. And if your name is defamed, then so is(are) theirs, and it'll be a little difficult for them to overcome that. You can't change it once you're dead, but you can try to prevent it, for their sake(s). You will be important to someone. So a good memory or a bad memory of you can have effects on them, even after you're not around. And a true memory is a rather powerful thing. (Heck, I'd like to have even one memory of my grandfather.)
The point I was getting at is after I'm dead I can't change it. Naturally I'd correct any misunderstandings I knew of since that's usually a good idea anyway.
How uncalled for... what did i ever do to you? :animecry: I like to consider my sense of humor at times as faux-immature. ...It's funny because of how awkwardly and uncharacteristically immature it is! It's not MY fault you didn't get that. :p
Fake or not, I'd say you earned it, so in my opinion... not uncalled for. =P And while I'm here, try actually answering the question and lay off the immature humor. Right now you're trolling the thread so knock it off please.
 2.
...I almost want to say we should simply agree to disagree... but that's so against my nature. ...Gwah!
Just say it. I already consider the discussion over anyway. =P
I considered it that from the very beginning btw
3.
I think you're misinterpreting the question as egocentric, Rach. I mean, there's nothing wrong with saying, say, "I want to be remembered for the best cakes ever at our family reunions". The point of this question is to ask you what you think others (even as small a group as your family) would remember you for, and if that answer lines with what you're doing with your life. If they'll think "what a good cello-player", or fi your students will remember you because of how well you taught them, and you're fine with that, then isn't that what you want them to remember? If they choose to remember you as a backwater pothead, wouldn't you want to change that to reflect the truth of who you were? It's not pretentious. It's just a setting of goals and a statement of what you've put the most effort into while alive.
Can't help it if it feels that way. =P I know that's not what they mean, it just feels awkward to think about what I would want to be remembered for. As for people remember wrong, I won't be around to object anyway. But yeah I suppose I would be curious to at least know what my students or others thought.
 4.
As far as the spelling/punctuation goes. I haven't been using spell check to save myself time. I wasn't sure how many people would read the story and until I knew for sure if there was/wasn't much of an interest in it, so I've been writing for me and putting my ideas on paper so to speak. Now that I have at least one peson interested I'll start being more Grammatically correct.
The problem with taking that approach is you don't know how many people you've alienated from even reading it just by not taking a moment to run things through a spell check before posting. It's not that people expect perfection, but consistently running into spelling errors can be a turn off. It comes across as if the author couldn't be bothered instead of a rough draft.
Again, this story is more to get my ideas on paper. I'm not trying to make it into a novel or anything of the sorts. When I started writing short stories about Jackson McGee as a "hero" for my Nephew. I didn't even start until my Chapter 10 here, so everything up too is new for me. I do appreciate any comments regardless of how blunt they are. I will do my best to be more grammatically correct in the future, and as I said will be utilizing spell check from now on. Anyone else who wants to post any comments/criticisms, feel free to let me have it, I'll do my best to fix. Please do let me know anything you do like about it, because lets face it. If you're willing to read through 12 pages, 6500+ words. There has got to be something that kept you interested, so let me know what it is.
I'd still recommend at least doing basic spell check. I know for myself, that's a bit of a turn off. I'd consider at least fixing the spelling errors and then worry about polishing up the grammar. It might get you more readers if you do that. If you don't have word, there are plenty of online services you can use, like hotmail or zolo. Even firefox has basic spell check that works inside the actual box when typing up a post. So that's my advice, to find a program to check things. Punctuation and capitalization would come next in my opinion. It just shows that you're sincerely interested in getting feedback. I know you're just getting your ideas out on paper, but fixing small details like that comes across as you're more serious about wanting good feedback. At least that's the impression I get when reading something.
 5.
I'm not assuming that they know what they are teaching is wrong. I'm assuming that they realize the possibility that it is wrong. This is an important thing for people to realize in science. There are many things in science that are taught that can be disproven. I don't know how it was in your highschool but in mine we had some older science texts and every now and then we would come across some out of date information. This is because science is dynamic. If you realize that then you can realize that whatever you're saying might be contingent upon science.
Assumptions are not the way to go. Don't assume that they know it's wrong, that's why I used the "world is flat" example. They had no reason to assume it was wrong. :/
As for the placing of the blame, i did actually distribute it between the teacher and the material... and even the student, i think (maybe implicitly). Regardless of whether i said it before, i'll say it now, if the student is of age to have discovered independent thought then even the student should be held partially responsible.
You were going more for blaming the teacher instead of the material, when sometimes it's not the teacher at all. It's the mistaken belief that what they are teaching is correct. So blaming them is pointless, they think that they know the facts.
As for what you were getting at, do you mind very bluntly saying it in case i missed it yet again? ^^^sincerity^^^
This is what I'm getting at, I explained it already and you have to keep going in circles over the same thing, only you word it slightly different or clarify a tiny bit when the basics of what I or you said is already done. =P
 6. I'm not sure if I really care or not. I imagine my friends and family will remember me as the one who was obsessed with music. >_> Other than that if they do, fine, if they don't that's fine too. Somehow, it seems pretentious to want to be remembered for something, or rather it just feels like it should be up to the person to decide what they would remember. I don't know how to explain that other than what I'm doing in life, well I'm not doing it so I'll be remembered for it.
 7. I love how the cat looks demented in this one. lol
 8. I just saw that Korey, though it made me think of James instead of Des. And since I'm here... it's Aceburner! I'm sure you can guess which one is him. =P Aceburner
 9.
A few things here that i need to explain/debate. First off when i had initially wrote what you replied to the material that i had in mind wasn't wrong, which isn't to say it was right. In the case of religion, i don't know. But i will say that even if the material is flat out wrong (such as your flat earth theory) i would still blame the teacher and not the material. Well, not exactly. I will place some blame on the material, but majority blame i would still place with the teacher. This is because i truly believe that the person receiving the information should use his critical thinking and logical skills to see the flaw in any material. And in the case of young and impressionable children the teacher should be held responsible for instilling these skills in the child. For instance, if i were to present the flat earth theory at the time in which it was believed i would emphasize that this is a theory based on speculation and has not been tested in any way. This theory is capable of being tested, obviously, but has not been. This sort of basic sentiment is important for presenting most ideas in science (and a lot in life), the difference being that science nowadays carries out those experiments a lot more often than before.
What if the teacher doesn't know it's wrong? You're assuming that a person knows what they are teaching is wrong... You missed what I was getting at. Both need to be scrutinized, it's that simple. Placing blame in on only once side fails to take in account a person's upbringing and education and so forth.
Yeh, i guess i do go in circles... even though i don't entirely understand what you mean by it. In spite of my circular...ness i hope you don't cop out and stop arguing with me. I dislike that.
I'll say it again. =P I won't change my opinion just to argue. And I won't go in circles since like I said, it would be redundant. Don't assume it's a cop out, it's my way of saying, I see no point in discussing things or going much further with it.
 10. Sorry for being lazy and not commenting in so long. My time off was just too tempting for doing nothing. I'm still wondering where you intend to go with this so I am curious to know if you plan on adding more to this story. If so... post. Pwease =P
 11. The psychological aspect of that one was creepy. >_> It makes you feel sorry for the person who ended up dead. Well sort of, and since I don't have an idea for a death... I'm done. I did like it though, even with the creepiness factor.
 12. I'll blame Des and his videos he's been posting on his world at theO for what I'm playing right now. >_> I ended up going to my parents and digging out some of my older games, namely The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. After seeing some of the nifty tricks he does in those videos of that game... I decided I have to try them out. Like the one where you use a bomb to knock yourself over a hole. Or turning the anti-fairy into a fairy with magic dust. All of it is stuff I didn't realize you could do... so I had to play the game just to do it.
 13. *pokes Allamorph* Still good to know even if it is a bit late. =P Anyway, I'm going to try and be less lazy and post. I was all fired up to do so for my time off and went into super lazy mode. Big time. >_> Sorry about that. Now that I'm back in school again, I'm feeling more motivated to do things. Which is ironic since I have less time to do stuff... figures.
 14. He may not be around anymore and he doesn't really do this kind of thing... but it does make me think of him. >_> 2008DigitalBoy And since he's always working whenever I manage to catch him on AIM... James And this reminds me of Aaryanna Mom since you just know she'd do it. =P Aaryanna Mom

 16.
It's no fun when people agree... or when the few that disagree are too afraid to respond.
It's no fun to change your opinion just to create an argument. =P
I don't think it's right to accuse the material being taught for hindering a person's sense of logic. It should be the person doing the teaching that is held responsible. The parent or religious figure in the child's life. I do believe you can teach religion while enforcing critical thinking and logical skills. Should i ever kids i fully intend on teaching religion to them while enforcing these abilities alongside with the possibility of no gods existing or even the sort of agnostic nuetrality.
Why? If the material is wrong, then why teach it or be politically correct and not fault it? We use to believe that the world was flat. Was it right to blame the material? Of course it was, since it was wrong. The whole issue debunking ID in the first place is that the religious aspect of it isn't fact. I could just blame the parents, but that leaves no room to scrutinize the actual material that is being presented as if it were a fact. That's just passing the buck in my opinion.
Well, what do you consider to be fact? If i were to ask if any one religion were fact i wouldn't be able to say. Perhaps one is, perhaps they all are, and maybe none are. There's no way of knowing. And what of science? There are so many "theories" in science that you could very easily not consider any of it "fact" without injecting some small portion of doubt. My point is it's not whether something is fact or not that makes it valueable. It's the methods we as a people used to gain the information. The theory of evolution came about through very rigourous testing by thousands if not millions of scientists. It's tested almost constantly. Whereas religion, depending on which one, isn't up to that sort of scrutiny. Certainly people may argue about religion, but there's no methods of proving your point through any sort of experimentation. That, in my opinion, is why science is so valueable.
I'm sure you understand the concept behind science, theory and testing theories and so forth. So I don't see a need to go into if a religion was a fact side of the argument. And you're kind of going in circles as well so I'm pretty much done. I already stated what I think.
 17. This one is fun. I can just imagine some poor new member not realizing what they are about to get themselves into with that move.
 18.
Intelligent Design is not science, so it should stay out of science classrooms. Evolution has been studied and observed. A scientific theory is a well tested hypothesis that has proven to be consistently accurate. It's not a guess. Ideally children would not be taught about religion until their teenage years. I've seen too many people that teach their own beliefs to their children as fact and it tends to screw with their developing sense of logic
I agree, with all of this actually. It's not a science so it has no place in the classroom. And the last bit... I've seen that all too often. Like you said, it tends to mess up their sense of logic. I've always understood that religion is more about faith than science. So to try and teach something as fact when it's not... big mistake in my opinion.
 19. Others have said it, but just give it time and you'll do fine. Once you figure out where your classes are, getting lost won't matter. That only happens maybe once or twice and then you'll realize you know where everything is pretty much. It won't be perfect of course, but don't let the small mix ups get you down. Seriously, once a week or two has passed, you'll start to feel more at home in High School, to the point that you'll look back and wonder why you were so worried.
 20.
Wow, I had very little hope that this movie would be any good before I read what it was about, and now that I have, I have absolutely no doubt it'll suck beyond any form of redemption.
I'm not even a fan of this show and yet after looking out of curiosity... I agree with this statement. And the one you just posted about a five minute fight taking twelve episodes. I made the mistake of watching some of it just to satisfy my curiosity... never again. XP
 21. Here's a fun one. =P
 22.
The biggest one is how the men in black seem to just about never factor into any of the episodes. It is fun how each one is a mystery and they put such good detail into the actual animation for you to pay attention to, but I find it kind of frustrating that it seemed to be dragged out quite a bit.
My understanding is that some of the show was done different from the manga. It was altered to removed the men in black from episodes. Which in my opinion is a shame since I agree that having so little about them in the show was annoying. However I have not seen beyond about the first 150 episodes so they might be in it more later on. But at the rate it's being released... who knows when I'll actually find out. Oh well.
 23.
Now I just have to remember what those secrets were. :p
Talk to Beth, I'm pretty sure she has all the details on that. I kind of remember discussing it, but I'd have to actually hunt through my chat logs to be sure. All I remember is that it had something to do with
experiments and humans.
XP
 24. The others have already given you some good advice so I'll just touch on one point, the same one that Allamorph just covered. Give it time. There is no set time frame for when you have to have made friends. If you keep trying to get out of the comfort zone of being shy, over time you'll get better at it and actually find new friends. Okay I'll touch on another one... Look for ways to get involved and don't worry if you don't make friends instantly. What will happen is later on, you'll suddenly realize that you've made friends. But only if you don't use being shy as an excuse, or that you have no one to go with you into the cafeteria. That's what does someone in more than anything, not trying because you're shy or because you don't know anyone yet. Every time you tell yourself I'm shy or I can't do this... make a point of DOING it.
 25.
I am sorry about the tale being a bit rough around the edges, it was late and I wasn't in the best state for explanations. She is my girlfriend of eleven months, and it hasn't been a bad time, just, little things adding up that have finally forced my hand so to speak.
It's still good to bring it out into the open though. Since it sounds like that habit of hers to not call you really annoys you a lot. If it hasn't been a bad time like you just said, then confronting that irritation will just help to keep it from ever going bad. If that makes sense. So it's good that you intend to bring it up with her. If the relationship is going to continue you're going to need to confront that. Otherwise, as others have said, it just might be time to move on.
