1. >_< Why did I have to be right about things getting worse? Because dreams like this usually do get worse? XP Anyway... I think you have a serious problem here. So... when you have the next part ready... be sure to post it. Though I'm sure it won't be pleasant since I can't see it suddenly becoming nice. Well unless you have a shift where you suddenly begin dreaming about something else. :p
  2.
I'm about 11-13 hours into the game. Most of my time has been spent on levelling up. My parties level is between 20-22. Just getting to Luin.
The only word of advice I would give you, is to give it a little time, or rather go a little further to get more into the story. It picks up and becomes more interesting just as you eventually reach the point where you can tackle some very difficult quests. Ones that make beating the game look like nothing. The only drawback is you practically need to read up on the game in order to make sure you get everything you need to unlock them. Though I did that after I beat the game once since I didn't want to spoil to many things. As far as Tales games go, I think you'd find Tales of the Abyss more to your liking. It doesn't have the chibi look, the voice acting and music is in my opinion more appealing and the battle system though similar has some stuff that I found far more enjoyable than this one. Even though I like this game. :p
  3. Kerstin did not care that they were back on their way to sector one, all she cared about was what had happened to her brother Darren. Whether or not he was still alive. She believed Jared when he kept insisting that the New Alliance would need him alive, but she couldn't help but worry what would happen once he was no longer useful. After all, with so many rumors and unconfirmed reports as to how each side behaved, she didn't know what the truth was anymore. So she did the only thing she could do, she worked on the portraits of those who had been in the meeting she had attended. On the off hand chance that those involved were not in sector eight when it had been retaken. Stevens would need to know anyway and though it was hard to think straight with all that had happened, it didn't affect her ability to recall faces or to draw portraits. She had been doing that long enough that on some level it was a habit, one she could do in her sleep. If she worked hard enough, by the time they got to sector one, she would be finished. With a sigh, she continued working on one. ********************** Darren had been surprised when shortly after being put back in his cell, he was once again moved. He hadn't even been sitting down on the tiny bed for long when someone had ordered him to stand up and walk through the transport door that opened inside his cell. He had done as asked, only to find himself in yet another tiny cell. Leaving him wondering just what was going on. He was not left wondering for long when the same tall, silver haired Versilan who had initially spoken to him arrived, only this time, other than to make a point of indicating that any move on his part to get off the bed would result in him being stunned. The door to the cell closed behind him and once it had done so Darren spoke up. "I thought you said I had a day to decide." He reminded him. "I did." He acknowledged from his position of standing just inside the door. "I have a question for you, a rather simple one at that. Tell me Darren, what do you think would happen if an undercover agent working for the High Council were to know that you are here?" A chill ran down his spine as he pulled back a bit, stiffening. "I know exactly what would happen." He looked around nervously, the direction the question was going only served to make him feel even more helpless. "It's likely they would simply silence me, to keep you from getting the information." He frowned, his eyes narrowing. "It's also likely that if I do as you ask, once I'm done, you'll do the same to me as well." The man simply pulled out a simple reader, something that could hold very basic information, but couldn't be used to contact anything. It was something every Versilan child had, before they were old enough to start using a regular computer. Parent's often put simple videos on it, or reading materials. To Darren's surprise he tossed it so it landed on the bed next to him. "You already know that getting that information is important, just as convincing you that absolutely nothing will happen to you once you're done is also important." He paused as if searching for the best way to put it. "I can't guarantee that nothing will happen to you, after all, spotting an undercover agent isn't exactly easy." Darren nodded cautiously, agreeing with the statement. After all, he had believed that Kiva was who she claimed to be and she had turned out to be an undercover agent for the Resistance. "What I can guarantee you is that I would do everything in my power to see that you are not harmed, even after you are done sorting the information; whether you did so willingly or not. The Resistance may have agreed to back the New Alliance and though we may still use some of their methods that we intend to put an end to, we do not execute those who are innocent of wrongdoing." Darren said nothing, not sure where the conversation was going at this point. After all, what was the point? Was he trying to convince him to trust him? The whole thing felt more like he was being toyed with a bit, the you have a day to decide and now this implication that he was in danger. "I can see that you are perhaps thinking I am toying with you." The man sighed at Darren's guarded look. "I am deadly serious Darren, and to prove that I am, look at what's on the reader. I think you'll find it enlightening. Once you've done that, if you change your mind, simply speak up and someone will contact me so we can get you started." Darren watched as he left, and then once the door had closed, he finally turned his attention to the small reader that was still sitting on the bed. Cautiously he picked it up, wondering just what in the world could be on it. With a tap, he turned the power on to see that there were two things in the memory. Clearly some type of video, and if the date was correct, both were made recently. For the longest time he just stared at it and then, as his curiosity got the better of him, he finally opened the first one.
  4. I wondered if we would see Daego again, anyway, just saying I'm not dead and that I'll be posting soon. Beth already knows that I've been understandably busy. XP Fortunately I finished up with some of that this morning no less so I'm good to go again. Though Darren still needs to make up his mind as to what he's going to do. Heh.
  5. I'm back to listening to one of my only Metal Albums again. Nightwish. Though I only listen to the instrumental versions. In this case I'm currently listening to this song: Nightwish-Sahara (Instrumental) The longer I have this album, the more I enjoy it. Well the instrumental disk that is. XP
  6.
Special thanks to Rach for his work on the latest Landmark. He had it completed over a month ago, but I wasn't ready to put it out until we absolutely needed it. Is it vague? Probably. Like so many other things in the RPG it seems to raise more questions than answer. Oh, and Rach/Beth: Feel free to follow up on my post if you want. Fonty doesn't have any new information about the photos, but he obviously wants to be as helpful as he can. -Shy
You're welcome... I'm not at all surprised that Kathy figured it out. XP Anyway, I'll follow up on what you did with Fonty when I post again. That should happen either later today or sometime tomorrow.
  7.
What the ? hey! That box is supposed to be green!! *grumble grumble* :p
Oh the fun of print screen. :p Anyway... even though it was kind of funny that Aaryanna was in there twice the first time around, I do have to admit I like the presentation with the graphics a lot better. And congratulations to those who were also chosen now that the outright duplicates are gone. I mean seriously, Shy not nifty? Impossible!
  8.
So if I'm right, the only problem I see is I can't read sheet music. So for those of you that can -I'm looking at you Rach- I say it's time to finally figure out what that blasted poem means.
You can stop that... looking at me that is. >_> I'm not the one who was training to be a concert pianist before things in one's life got in the way. That is Kathy, who I see has solved it. Anyway, yes I can read the music, even if the piano is not something I can play, well other than to peck out a simple melody. XP Anyway, like Raiha said, it's a pity that the actual message itself is a bit on the vague side. Makes me wonder if there is more to it that will surface, making the message more than it seems. I mean there was that reference to a giant in that bedtime story that Aaryanna did in her post. The question here is... was it just a story?
  9.
What is your experience with people with body mods? How are they generally treated? Is that right, or wrong? By "body mods" I mainly mean multiple tattoos, obvious and abnormally placed piercings, tongue splits, facial implants, stretched piercings, and so on.
Not a lot since I don't run into it very often. As to how they are treated... It's a mix, sometimes it?s no big deal and others are judged on their appearance, in a negative fashion. Is it right or wrong? It depends on the culture really. Even if I think tattoos or piercings are up to the individual it doesn?t change the fact that for some, that?s considered a contradiction to how they were raised. Though that brings up the question of tolerance towards different beliefs. In general, I think it?s a mistake to judge someone so quickly.
Now, if any of you were to meet me in person, you wouldn't be thrown off by some side show freak with facial tatts, or horn implants. Most of my ink is well concealed by normal clothing, unless my hair is pulled back you can't see my ear size, and I have a very good flesh tone stud for my nose when I'm not in a casual setting.
I won?t lie, initially I would be thrown off. Because I?m not use to really seeing it. It doesn?t bother me, but it does take getting use to because I really don?t run into it a lot. I wouldn?t judge you over it though.
But do you think it's right that I should have to go to those lengths to be considered a reasonable young man? How would you judge me, say, if I did have facial ink, a one inch tongue split, 1 inch gauges, a septum ring and the like? Would it be different than the appearance I described before? Is that justified?
Depends on the context, everyone has to do things to fit in with society and covering tattoos is one of them. A lot of jobs require it. Do I agree? *shrug* I just know it?s expected, though for me that is not an issue. I couldn?t say if it was right for the simple reason I do not have enough information to know if a mod really is disruptive in a work environment. As for your appearance, it would perhaps earn a startled look, I won?t lie. But that?s not the same as judging someone. I really prefer to judge someone based on actions rather than appearance.
See, now, I know a lot of people with a lot of body mods. A lot of those people are good people. They are sound-minded, generally gainfully employed, non drug users, non violent, and very sociable people. So, while I understand the apprehension of people not raised around that, I just want to see your thoughts on the subject. How do you see these kinds of people?
I wouldn?t say apprehension, but for someone who has never seen it, I could understand that. I?ve long gotten past that stage, of being outright startled by it. But in general, I see them as people like anyone else.
PS- Anyone who can guess where my thread title came from will get sweet Modprops.
Considering that you started the thread on Metal and were quite active in posting. I can only assume that the title is part of some lyrics from a Metal song. Something that a little research indicates it is by Rob Halford, Forgotten Generation. Though that?s assuming my guess is actually correct. :p
  10.
Perhaps, the Sentinel is still in the aerodrome, so if Alexander has the message marked as urgent, Daedalus may get it in the middle of the night. Quite a nice thing to be woken up to.
Yes he would have and there are some details I forgot to tell Beth to include when we discussed it. Not only would Alexander have marked it urgent, the reason it wasn't sent until the end after they finally left Rosengard for the night is he would have commandeered the darkroom and insisted on making a copy of the picture to be included with that message for Daedalus. He's concerned that if he only hands it over to his superior officer that the news will be suppressed. Since Grants is a member of the Underdogs after all. By his reasoning, with Vincent dead, he figures that Daedalus the only one he can truly trust.
  11. Here it is, the last few minutes of Valentines Day and I still feel the urge to bang my head on my desk over this. >_< And ironically, I remember the conversation you mentioned Des. Gods... I thought, as I'm sure Beth did, that you were kidding. I should have known better. Now I just need to borrow Aceburner's avatar and I'm set.
  12. I am curious about one thing though, with the chaos in New Czenoble... wouldn't some people wish to evacuate? And if so, where would they go? I mean that would make sense, these people are use to their cozy little world and the idea of a rebellion is something that would cause many people to freak and run. What kind of plans would High Czenoble have for such a possibility? Would they even consider an evacuation or attempt to act like nothing is wrong? You could say I'm curious to see what would happen during the next day since by then everyone will most likely know that things are a mess.
  13. Alexander didn't know what to think of how the day had gone as he finished getting cleaned up once he and Alecia had gotten home. For one thing, even with the potion he had been given at the hospital and the salve the nurse had put on the bump on his head, he still had a horrible headache. And even now, he still found it maddening that it seemed like there was something just hovering on the edge of his consciousness that refused to come forward. Though it was easy enough to put aside whenever he thought of what Alecia had told him on the way home. It still had him hovering between a state of intense joy and excitement over the idea of being a father. He had bombarded her with questions all the way home. Too wound up to even relax like he was suppose to. They had so many things to talk about, so many things to plan. I wonder if it?s a boy or a girl? He finished up with slipping into some casual clothing and after carefully toweling his hair again, avoiding the large bump on the back of his head. He measured out another dose of the stuff he had been given to take and then stopped when Alecia took the vial from him and applied it carefully. ?What am I going to do with you love?? She said as she wrapped her arms around him from behind, pressing her left check into his back and smiling when he took her hands in his. He pulled them free a bit and was turning to kiss her when a loud knocking sounded at their front door. ?Who could that be?? Alecia frowned slightly and let go of his hands to go and answer the door. She barely opened it only for Victoria Ann to shove her way in and start asking for Alexander. ?Alecia! Where is Alexander? I have to show him something!? She was clearly agitated, making Alecia wonder just what in the world was going on. A moment later she darted past her upon seeing Alexander standing in the doorway leading to the rest of the house. ?Alexander! Grandfather is alive!? She thrust the picture of Leonhart, bound by the wrists, along with several other older men, in some sort of cellar, into his hands. ?He?s not dead! He have to find him!? ?Victoria Ann!? Alecia came over and grasped her by the shoulders. ?What are you talking about?? ?Alecia,? she turned at the serious tone in Alexander?s voice and then gasped in surprise when Alexander showed her the picture. ?Where did you get this Victoria?? Alexander steered her towards the sofa so they could both sit down, and because his pounding headache was making him feel a bit dizzy. ?Uncle Fonty had it in his darkroom. He said it was already in the camera when he started using it, that it was taken earlier.? She frowned as she tried to stay calm enough to explain. ?But he?s got gray hair in the picture so it has to be recent! He?s been kidnapped! Just like the others!? ?Alexander?? Alecia hesitated as it was clear he was thinking on what to do. ?We need to show this to Vincent Achard.? He stood up. ?Why? Wouldn?t it be better to hand it over to your superior officer Grants?? ?NO!? Alexander said forcefully, startling the two. ?Sorry, I didn?t mean to shout. Please trust me on this, it needs to go to Vincent.? Alecia nodded and then turned to Victoria, ?Do the others know about this?? She shook her head. ?I don?t know, other than Uncle Fonty.? ?We should go to Rosengard then, to make sure the others know.? She smiled at Alexander. ?It would be easier to get messages sent from there too.? She reached down squeezed Victoria Ann?s shoulder. ?We?ll look into this.? "Okay." She said carefully. Alecia took care of Victoria Ann, something as they headed over to Rosengard, Alexander was grateful for. It was clear that she was on the verge of tears and only holding it in to make sure someone knew Leonhart was not dead. It certainly looked that way with the photograph. But what was on Alexander?s mind was why the hell had Fauntleroy not shown it to the RPG? Or had he? After all his own superior officer was a member of the Underdogs. Had he simply made sure the picture vanished? Or explained how it couldn?t be Leonhart? I don?t know what to do! He winced at the pounding in his head as they headed down the street. It was clear that news of the Underdogs stand in New Czenoble had reached their area, people were clearly agitated and even a few were obviously leaving. What?s the matter with them? Why are they panicking? It made him wonder what else had happened since he? the memory eluded him, other than the sounds of the guns of the gunship firing, the screams of those who were innocent caught in the crossfire. What if the Underdogs are right? He had never thought he would live to see the day were the rpg would use lethal force without using non lethal methods first. And yet at the same time, they were kidnapping people, holding them against their will. Yes they needed more equal treatment, better living conditions.. But? ?Are you alright Alexander?? Alecia looked concerned. ?Perhaps we should go back, you?re awfully pale.? She moved over and took his arm in hers, smiling up at him before turning her attention back to where they were going. At that moment, when she smiled, he realized what he had to do. He had to do what was best for his family, though he still wasn?t sure just which path would be the best.
  14. I have to say something... >_< Because I signed in only to find pm's from people wanting to know why I changed the Lounge... Uh... Just to be clear people. I can't alter that kind of thing! I understand that only Desbreko, Dagger or someone like James can. Gods... I just know this is some horrible Valentines Day prank by Desbreko, it has his signature humor written all over it! *dead*
  15. I can easily see Aaryanna as being nifty enough to take two spots... She's just that awesome. However, there is also a duplicate for OtakuBoards Survivor four and for the OtakuBoards Graphis worm. Can we say oops? :p Anyway, other than that, fun stuff and congratulations to everyone involved. As well as thank you for nominating me again. :catgirl:
  16. The more he thought about it, the more Alex didn't like it. He had rested for a bit after returning to where he had a spot in one of the buildings close to the city center. He didn't use it a lot since he usually spent his spare time hanging out at some of the human shops instead. But today when he woke up later after giving his spiritual energy time to heal the wounds he had gotten at the hands of the Count, he found that he had no desire to do what he usually did. Instead he was lying down on the sofa, lost in thought while Nall took advantage of the situation to curl up on his chest and sleep, much like a cat. "Why didn't they tell us Nall?" He said absentmindedly, not really expecting an answer since Nall was asleep, or rather he thought he was until Nall raised his head and looked at Alex. "Tell us what?" "About the Vampires! What else?" Alex sighed as he moved his arms, putting his hands under his head as he looked up into the sky through the skylights in his place. "Why weren't we informed when we were first paired together? It makes no sense to give us basic training and then toss us into a situation where other than perhaps Nathan, none of us have a clue what?s going on." He sighed a bit. "Surely they had to know that someone like the Count was capable of killing us. So why would they send us in without bothering to take the time to let us know what was going on?" Nall stretched a bit, until he was more sprawled out. "I don't know, even though I'm a dragon, I haven't been around as long as the others have. Most of our kind are gone and only a few of us remain, co-inhabiting the world of the Shinigami. By dragon terms, I'm not even considered mature." "Then how do you know so much?" Some of that comes from being what I am. Just as you can sense when it's time for someone to die, I can sense other things, even if they aren't completely clear. Just like I knew when I first saw you that we would make excellent partners." Alex laughed at the thought, it was one of his more pleasant memories after all. Familiars were chosen based on suitability and often it was a matter of new Shingami taking the time to meet those like Nall who had been offered the chance to serve as one's familiar and were willing to accept it, provided they met someone they felt would be a good partner for them. It was a little awkward really to meet those who were willing to serve as familiars, wondering which, if any of them, would end up working with you. He had been so curious and eager to give it a try, being a Shinigami that is. In truth he had been worried that none of them would even like him since he was a bit odd. Alex had certainly been twitted over his fascination with the humans a lot. But in the end his concern had been unnecessary, when Nall had swooped over and outright landed on his left shoulder, declaring that he would do, it had just felt right. No fuss, nothing off, just as if he was meeting up with someone he had always been friends with. The following period of training before they were finally sent to the human world had gone just as smoothly. It had felt as if things had always been that way. "If only I was capable of sensing things about the Vampires without the need for someone to tell me what the hell is going on." Nall snorted, "Just ask Nathan when we finally go to see him. If he won't tell you, then we can always head back and talk to your original mentor." Nall curled back up on Alex's chest. "For now though you should get some more sleep, even though you're better, you still could use some rest." Alex sighed a bit. "I know." He closed his eyes and tried to put it out of mind so he could actually get some more rest. It was hard though, his questions and concerns kept running though his mind, making it next to impossible to fall asleep.
  17. Well... that was... O_O Definitely one of the darker posts and deaths so far. Also, I rather liked the war death as well since it was put together so well and I especially liked the final words since they wrapped it up so neatly. Anyway, now I'm curious to see how Petie's request comes out.
  18.
;805389'']It sounds to me as if Romney doesn't know a thing about his own religion. I could be wrong, but it seems that way.
I'll clarify a bit on why what Aaryanna_Mom is talking about is unsettling to Mormons, even though I haven't been one for over six years. The real problem is he does know his own religion, he's done things that require more in depth knowledge instead of the simple going to church and listening to the talks, lessons, etc. He did what's known as serving a mission, where one literally gives up two years of their life to go and spend every single day going from door to door to preach the Mormon religion. He served in leadership positions, that requires one to be far more familiar with it than just someone teaching a lesson or giving a talk at church. He's married in the Mormon manner, in one of the temples. These kinds of things require one to be fairly active and to have a decent knowledge of how the religion works, so it's a stretch to think he doesn't know a thing about his own religion. Being in a leadership position, even on a simple level for a group requires knowing more since you're responsible for everyone who attends the meetings in the group you're overseeing so to speak. And there are a lot of Mormon's who are disgusted by how he's presenting himself since they know he knows better. Ironically it's the one's who don't know the religion all that well who are not offended by what he's doing. Because they think, oh he didn't really mean that. XP Anyway... I still need to learn more, since I need to figure out which one is the lesser evil to vote for, and I'm still not to a point where I'm clear on who that's going to be.
  19.
Also I somehow can't imagine Bavaria being above a wedding of convenience. :catgirl:
Personally I don't see her as being above it either, for the simple reason she's a diplomat. If she really thinks such a marriage would bring stability to the country, she'd do it even if she hated the heir. She would consider it her duty. At least that's the vibe I get from her. Oh and Alexander has no real reason to hate her either. He dislikes her but he really doesn't know her. On some level he's simply supporting Alecia since he trusts her judgment when it comes to that sort of thing. Even if her judgment is a bit whacked out due to being pregnant. :D *ducks yet another whack from Beth*
  20.
In other words, you'll find out soon enough when the New Alliance gets clobbered. :p
What I love is how my character supposedly helped Stevens with that and yet I haven't a clue as to what he did. XP Oh the fun of implying your characters did something when you don't really understand what it is they are doing. Heh. Now if he can just avoid getting tortured and getting killed. >_> If Darren can manage that... I'll be set. But damnit! He's refusing to tell me if he'll cooperate or not! [and that's just another way of saying... I haven't decided yet. XP] You and you're choices Beth, when it comes to these things. *poke*
  21. This just gets weirder by the minute. Taking her inside instead of to the mainland, some medicine that makes her wound feel better so quickly. And that tea? >_> That had me going.. what are you doing? Don't drink it fool! I find it interesting how the main character is picking up on things that they couldn't really know. Like the bit about knowing that whatever was causing the mess didn't want them to leave. Plus Jim's parent's are losers. :p Mean ones at that. Crystia... you have the weirdest dreams. Seriously. Unless this takes an odd slant, I don't see this getting any better, but rather worse, for the main character that is.
  22. Good grief! O_O Is correct. That was just... ugh! Good thing Lucia found that, Alex would have been a bit freaked by that. He doesn't have the mentality of... I'm gathering data... to keep him focused. He' be like... What the hell? And then he'd take off at a dead run. XP Crystia is right, you're so nice Allamorph! :p Also, she's right about the picture, it fits.
  23.
I like them because they're terribly cheap and when you're a STARVING college student like me, your mantra becomes C.F.T.B. Which stands of course for 'Cheap food tastes better.'
That's so true that it's painful. Eating things that are inexpensive to make ends meet. Though that just makes me appreciate my girlfriends cooking even more. Even if I hate it when I'm back to regular college styled eating. XP Anyway, I'm not all that partial to waffles. They're just not my thing at all. If I'm going to have something breadish for breakfast, I'll go for a bagel first. Those are great when you toast them a bit, and they're easy to eat on the run. Since I'm bad about leaving at the last possible moment for things.
  24.
Well because sometimes there are places off the beaten path, that wouldn't come up on an internet search.. Like if someone from Soul Society ran it. :)
True but at least you'll know you won't have to go without the Sapporo Miso Soup flavored ramen you mentioned. And even if there was nothing, I'm sure you could find another way to get what you wanted. Sure it would be a pain to have to order and have something shipped to you, but still. It would work.
  25. Voting for the heir huh? There you go. XP This should be interesting. I have put my vote in and Alexander is back, even if he's confused as all get out as to what the hell is going on. >_> *ducks Beth's impending whack and runs* :p
