Man, why do you guys all hate dating so much? O_o
That's what I was wondering since like you said, it's a great way to strengthen a relationship and learn more about one another. They don't always work out of course but still, it's worth it. About the only thing I don't care for is blind dates. For the simple reason that the few times I let my friends set me up... it was a disaster. But other than that it's been a combination of fun, frustrating and exhilarating when you've found someone you really adore. Also, DeathKnight gives good advice, don't bring her back late on the first date, well at least not until after you're out on your own. Awww Anomaly, dating is fun! Especially when it's the right person. ;)

The expansive park with lush and detailed landscaping wasn't quite as free as Alecia and Alexander would have liked. Families had shown up in droves with blankets spread out on the grass as their children enjoyed running about in silly games of tag while the older one's attempted to get kites to fly in the ever unpredictable breezes of High Czenoble. And for those who didn't think to bring a picnic basket full of goodies, there were plenty of street vender's selling different snacks along with chilled drinks for those who wished to pay for a bite to eat. Still as Alecia smoothed out her dress on the small blanket that they were sitting on, Alexander couldn't help but admire how lovely she was sitting there in her outfit that was similar to her potionist uniform only in varying shades of blue with black trim. He had always liked how blue brought out the color of her eyes even more. And with the slight breeze teasing her hair, it just made for a picture perfect moment, making him wish he had a camera. "What are you thinking?" She asked when she realized he was watching her instead of enjoying the view of the city that was visible from their vantage point on one of the higher hills in the park. "I was thinking about how lovely you are." He smiled when she blushed at the compliment. "I'm also a bit concerned that you've been so tired lately, you've been like this for just over a week and a half. You're not coming down with anything are you?" "Not that I'm aware of," Alecia frowned slightly as she turned to look out at the city after leaning into Alexander who responded by putting his arm around her. "I've had some headaches as well, but nothing else to go along with it." She laughed slightly, "If I am coming down with something, it's taking it's own sweet time. Seriously though, other than being so tired and the occasional headache, I feel perfectly fine." Alexander didn't have a response to that. If it had only happened once the mess with Leonhart had started he wouldn't have worried since something like that was extremely stressful. But the tiredness had started well before that had come up. Though he was certain that the stress of all that had happened didn't help. "Did you want to join the others at the races later? And what about Henry and Dame Anna? Did you still want to insist that they come with us? After all Lady Bavaria won't have a say over who's allowed at the races." He reminded her, since public events like that were open to everyone and Bavaria couldn't bar them from the races like she had from Rosengard. "I left a note with the housekeeper to that effect, I'm not sure if they'll want to though. I just hope Henry doesn't back out of participating after what happened. I understand that he's quite good at racing." Alecia sighed slightly. "I wish Grandfather was still here." Before Alexander could answer that a change in the breeze brought the smell of cooking meat in their direction, causing Alecia to wrinkle her nose in distaste. "Ugh... That's just awful." She grimaced, surprising Alexander since it was something that she normally liked. And then she surprised him even further by shrugging free and getting up. "Lets go and check on Fauntleroy before I get sick, that smell is making me nauseous." To Alexander's surprise she really did look like she was going to be ill. Hastily he snatched the blanket, folding it up and then caught up with Alecia who was hurrying away from the smell of the food cooking. "Are you alright?" He asked her. Alecia took a deep breath, "Yes, for a moment there that just made me feel like I was going to be sick." She smiled at Alexander. "I'm fine now so lets go. We can decide later if we want to go to the races or not." She reached over and took his arm in hers before heading towards the nearest train station, leaving Alexander wondering what had just happened.

Remind me to never upset Aaryanna. XP And just to break the pattern here, instead of requesting someone else's death. How about my own? Something noble, like defending one's love or some such thing. Sad, tragic and beautiful all in one. Not that I want to die mind you, but it would be interesting to see what you come up with.
Well then I take issue with James' post, because it creates a phantom '7th Day' where none of the characters seemed to do anything but Gadget, Vincent and Gustave. Everyone seems to be on the same timeline but Vincent and Gadget. so I'd simply reword the Gustave posts so that you pick him up from the Aerodome in the morning of Day 7.
That's really the heart of the problem. I guess the other characters were sitting around twitting their thumbs or something? :p Anyway, in the end, day seven, day eight, who cares? Pick a day and that shall be it! Whichever number you like best Sandy!
As for the Landmark, I know a couple of players are working on it. But it's going to be very difficult to solve without the next piece of the puzzle. Expect that up in a future post. But if anyone can solve it now, that's very impressive. I'm sure at least one of you has an idea of what the poem might be referring to. -Shy
Sure someone has an idea... you and Sandy! lol Also Beth does make a very good point Sandy, none of the characters even know it exists, so even if we are speculating as to what it means, we have no reason to post about it at this time.
-
It was agreed in this thread that James' post happened a day after the incident with the bomb (to give the characters time to recover, I guess), and Sakura's post started the events of the following morning (continued by you).
Just because I can... :p That was on account of Sakura deleting her post and re-posting to better match what James did by skipping a day. Originally it was done as if Macey left the very next morning. The switching days happened later to help clear up the confusion, or did you forget? *poke*
okay. so my private message is saying that i have two unread pms but i when i go to look there arent any. :animeangr
Since you posted in the thread for issues with myOtaku, I'm going to assume that these ghost pm's are with your myOtaku account. In which case you'll want to go here to report the issue: Contact If you are talking about here at OtakuBoards, then I would suggest pming either Dagger or Desbreko for assistance.
Goodness, that's a fun piece. I'm going to have to hunt down a copy of the music to this so I can play it. It's wonderfully fun and as you said quite lively. And of course it's now what I'm listening too. :catgirl: Oh! Wait a second! It's the same music that's in your signature! Even if I can't play the Cello I can still read it just the same. Fun!
You are correct, it is the same music, even if what I linked to is the piano arrangement and not Gypsy Tango for String Trio, which is what is in my signature. I don't have a full recording of it or rather I don't know where it is. All I have is a short three minute clip of the String Trio version. XP But the piano arrangement is rather fun so I uploaded it instead. Anyway, I'm currently listening to the soundtrack to Kingdom Hearts. Even though I never finished the first game I still like the music to it. Kingdom Hearts I find it amusing that I like the music more than I actually like the game.

To be honest, I'm not sure I follow the complaint. The game is rated Mature, which in effect means:
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.
So it seems pointless to get up in arms over a game that has stuff in it that actually fits within the rating it was given. If it had been rated incorrectly, sure I could see the fuss, but otherwise? Pointless really.

I blame this entirely on Shy for giving me the link, but now that I've checked it out and actually played it... I have to share it: Game It's funnier than all get out and so true as far as politics go. :p I lost though, since I wasn't mean enough. >_
That song is pretty and reminds me of something that would have been the BGM on a Pico game, yes I had Pico when I was a kid. That's not what's important right now, though, ihad no idea you had a blog!!!
I've only had it for two days... >_> Beth about smacked me upside the head and told me to join since she has one there too. XP But yeah, I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet. Maybe I'll do stuff on music I really like or something. :catgirl:

Right now I'm listening to Gypsy Tango by Gary A. Edwards. I didn't see a clip over at youtube that I liked so I uploaded one to my Vox account. Anyway, I've played the cello part for this but the music I've linked to is actually a version of the Gypsy Tango arranged by accomplished touring pianist Scott Mayfield. It's a fun lively piece to play and to listen to.

Discuss Shinigami Dance: Playground of Deities
Rachmaninoff replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Theater
So, any thoughts as to where we want to go with this? For all intents and purposes everyone is pretty much out of the mansion, even Shalua once Lucia wakes her up. I left it vague as to what everyone did since I wasn't sure what all of you had in mind. Oh and I hope you don't mind the little spat and using Astera like that Crystia. It just seemed like she'd do something like that if Adrian was hurt. After all she is his 'shrill security blanket' after all. :D -
Alex was beginning to think he understood a little of the emotion that humans called fear. In all his time as a Shinigami, until coming to this mansion he had never been so forcefully startled or even hurt for that matter. Though it was clear, as he and Nathan helped Adrian to his feet, that both of them including the Count had some means of moving quicker. How the hell they did so he didn't have a clue and whatever Adrian had done... it looked like it had done some serious damage, far worse than what he had gotten from the Count. Though now that the curse was gone he could feel that fading as his own energy repaired the damage. What in the world did Adrian do to hurt himself like that? It was to be frank, puzzling since unlike the Count or even Nathan, he hadn't gotten any sense of movement at all from Adrian. Nothing at all. One moment he was only a few steps in front of him, the next he was on the other side of the room, dealing with the Count. Or was he imagining things and it only seemed that way because he had been hurt? Alexander shook his head as they took the back door that Nathan had come in through, only partially listening to Lucia as she explained how the fight had gone. He was too busy wondering if he could convince either one of them to show him how to move that quickly, it would come in handy should he ever run into a vampire again. They were probably about halfway towards the entrance when a shrill voice caught their ears. It was Shalua who now that the Count was dead, was free of the trap she had been caught in. Alex winced at the screech in her voice as she ranted about how she was going to clobber them for not setting her free before heading for the Count. Ugh, this is the last thing we need, it's not like we wanted to leave her there. To Alex's utter surprise, the moment Shalua got in range Adrian lifted his head a bit to fix her with a glare. "Shut. Up." He said as forcefully as he could in his condition. "Don't you tell me to shut up Adrian!" Shalua shot back as she worked herself into a frenzy, becoming even more agitated. "Astera..." Adrian managed before another less severe bought of coughing seized him, causing him to grimace in pain. "You heard him! Shut up or I'll do it for you!" Astera took off, moving until she was facing the pair directly. "You?" Yutuko said with disbelief. "That's a laugh." "You asked for it!" Astera shrieked, getting angry. A split second later Shalua collapsed to the floor, leaving everyone, other than Nathan, startled as to what had just happened. "Why you!" Yutuko started to protest only to halt when Lucia intervened, moving so she was literally standing between the two. "That's enough! All she did was put her to sleep so there's nothing to get excited over!" She looked to Nathan who merely looked amused at what was going on. "Go ahead you two, I'll wake her up once you're outside." Nathan offered one of those tiny half grins of amusement that he often did before he nodded at Alex who in turn continued towards the entrance to the mansion. "I swear," Alex muttered as they finally left the mansion. "She gets more shrill with each passing day." Astera just gave him a look and laughed a bit. "I guess we should take him to his place here in the city?" Alex inquired. "Or does he need someone to keep an eye on him while he recovers?"

Discuss Idea: Ridiculously Over-powered and Mature Kiddies RPG Anyone?
Rachmaninoff replied to AngryBarista's topic in Theater
*ignores Allamorph* :p
And, yeah, guys...it's probably not necessary to react too seriously to this type of thing. If you overreact you won't present your case well. We can definitely state our opinions without jumping on each other. I believe that Satori simply needs to focus on creating his own RPG if he feels that what's out there now isn't serving his interest. I'd tell anyone the same thing.
Regardless of what Allamorph said, Raiha pinned it down pretty good. The vague nature of the thread didn't really help things. So if it seems like an overreaction, it isn't meant as one. lol Personally I agree with what you are saying here James, if what's out there doesn't suit Satori then it sounds like they need to create their own RPG. I've only done one myself and even with using someone else's basic concept it was a lot of work, so I think it's fair to simply say hey, I don't see anything I like, how about this? It gets your point across and yet helps to keep the feather ruffling down to a minimum. I do agree with Allamorph on that point, wording is everything, especially on a message board where more often than not you don't know the person, can't see their facial expression and can't instantly determine their intent. ;) Though you can ignore the bad things happen part after that. -
Discuss Idea: Ridiculously Over-powered and Mature Kiddies RPG Anyone?
Rachmaninoff replied to AngryBarista's topic in Theater
So I was reading through a few of the current and past RP's, and well while some of them are top quality reads [in between playing Harvest Moon - I'm that hardcore - and working two jobs, the only RP time I get here is the reading time], others are becoming more and more lacklustre, and some of the more common roleplayers surface with each large-scale RPG that is run. Not to point the finger or make out that there's a problem here, but it's almost like I've seen the same group of players in all the big ones every time a big one hits :animedepr [Yes, you put the effort in. Kudos to you]
In all honesty, you?ve lost me with this part. I mean to be blunt, how does this really tie into the rest of your post? Most people, successful or not, rpg because they enjoy it, not to ensure that it?s not ?lacklustre? to whoever just might happen to read it. ;) After all it?s for the participants enjoyment more than anything else. If creators tried to make sure no one got bored with an rpg they ran, no one would ever do so. And if it?s not a problem, then why bother to bring it up? As Raiha said, let people have their fun. They don't need to worry about whether or not they've been in a lot of successful rpg's or not. Honestly, that just seems silly if you ask me. I would have thought that the fact that you keep seeing the same people participate is because you know? they?re enjoying themselves and that?s what this section of the boards is about.
Anyway moving on more to the point. So while I was reading some of the 'not so successful' RPs I noticed a common element; the characters were ridiculously underage, with overly mature ideas and situations being played out. The characters being suggested or put forward have mature personalities and outlooks. Not that there's a problem with this, but I've noticed that when you play a role of a 17 year old with a 29 year old personality, the age gap within the character clashes, and you can't really get into it. Feel free to correct my wrongness here if you can do so without flamage :)
You could have started here to begin with really, stating how you?ve noticed that this style of rpging was being done and that you noticed it wasn?t really successful and then launched into why you felt it wasn?t successful. Leaving the baggage of the first paragraph out altogether. As to why someone can?t get into it, I think DB is correct in that it has to be something that you want to do. And whether or not it?s believable is again, besides the point. So long as those participating in the rpg are having fun, it?s irrelevant. I?m going to point back to Raiha again here and point out that you can simply not read it at all if it's really annoying or boring. There are plenty of rpg?s here I don?t read for different reasons. Some, nothing more than the fact that though well done, it?s not the type of story that appeals to me.
So here's my basic off the cuff idea: Let's do a play on failure, let's aim to tackle world politics with 10 year olds pulling the strings; let's take over the planet with toddlers; let's play the role of religious leader with a pre-schooler. Not only will we be ridiculously young, but we will have the brains and thought processes of 30 year olds, and the financial capacities of world leaders. We will be trained in all schools of magick and weaponry far better than anyone who has unlocked all licences in the 'Weapons' category on the license board in Final Fantasy XII. Thoughts and questions? Post them here. Problems? If you can keep the blame flame and name [calling] to a minimum post away, otherwise complaints go straight to me so no one know's you're being silly :P Thanks guys -Sat
I have no interest in an idea like this really. I think the fact that I?ve never joined an rpg that does this speaks for itself. Because for one, like you said, it?s often poorly done and two, even if it wasn?t, it?s one of those concepts that doesn?t appeal to me. Oh and before you comment about blame/flame/etc. You might want to re-read your first paragraph and take into consideration how that comes across or could be taken wrong. Because it sounds like your whining over the fact that the same group of people are in successful rpg?s when there is no good reason to whine other than in your opinion, it seems that they aren?t entertaining you as much as they should. I?m not saying that?s what you meant, but that is how it comes across. -
I'm not that familiar with the guy, but I'm sorry to hear it just the same. Just as I'm sorry to hear of all the nonsense being said about him. It's just pointless and sick on their part to be so ugly towards someone who never did anything that really affected them. So he played a homosexual character in one film. My stance on that is, so what? It doesn't define who he really was. That sort of thing, fictional or in real life doesn't in my opinion.
-
Sure I use it. How often? Don't know. I don't really pay attention to how often I use a phrase like that. Usually if I do it's because the conversation is on some level amusing. When something is really funny, I tend to use hehe or haha instead though. Since usually at that point I really did laugh out loud.
I'd say Kreid has a problem on his hands since her mission is to fully clear him and that's just not going to possible. ;)
Oh I agree, that does look like fun and I find myself hoping she'll succeed in exposing him, heh. Three weeks. Three weeks that on some level had felt like an eternity to Darren as they made their way for the relay station in sector four. The four members of the Elite Task Forces had made Darren almost feel like he was under siege as no matter what he did, everything was scrutinized or rather it was obvious that they were keeping a close eye on him. Making him wonder just what the hell was in the the data from sector fourteen. Part of the trip had been pleasant, catching up with Mike had been enjoyable since he hadn't really gotten to spend any time with him since the whole mess started shortly before the High Council had taken over Earth. Even though it hadn't really been all that long, to him it felt like an eternity and the two of them had spent most of the trip hiding out in their quarters catching up. Darren was sure that their quarters were most likely being monitored but he didn't care, so long as he had the illusion of privacy that was all that mattered at the moment. "I swear Mike," Darren said for the hundredth time. "More than anything I wish I could go back to simply being a merchant." "That will never happen, not after being made the Shipping Expert. Even if the High Council let you retire, everyone knows who you are now." Mike shifted in his position on the sofa in Darren's quarters, putting his feet up as he comfortably faced where Darren was sitting. "I know." Darren sighed a bit as the chime for his computer terminal in his quarters sounded, indicating that they would be arriving soon. He stood up, straightening his uniform since unlike the rest of the trip today he knew he would be required to wear it. Mike got up and followed along as Darren headed to the bridge of the Wilkey, arriving just in time to see the viewer indicating that they had dropped out of hyperspace. With an inward sigh he sat down at the command chair while Mike took one of the remaining spots that was free. "You know what to do sir." The one leading the others spoke up without turning around to face Darren. "You've only told me repeatedly through out this trip." Darren rolled his eyes. "I'm already aware that I am authorized to request full access to the relay station. That comes with my position and doesn't even require Stevens to authorize it. Besides," He said shortly, irritation creeping into his voice. "It's not like they aren't expecting us, it isn't often that a relay station is ordered to take part of the system off line and simply wait for someone to come and literally take the equipment." "Right." The man said even as he opened a channel to the relay station. "Just remember that we need to actually land since it's better to avoid attracting unwanted attention by orbiting the station. It shouldn't take more than a day or two to retrieve the equipment, but it's better to simply play it safe." Darren just ignored him in favor of waiting for the staff at the relay station to answer their hail. Wishing to retrieve the equipment and head back so he could finally press Stevens as to how Kerstin was doing. If he was lucky, he would have the data sorted by the time they got back to the Conqueror. A moment later the viewer came to life as a Versilan wearing the uniform of a security officer answered their hail. "State your business please." He requested. "I'm here to retrieve the equipment that you were ordered to keep off line." Darren replied. "By my authority as Shipping Expert for the High Council." "Understood, please transmit your authorization code sir." Darren had been expecting the request and already had the code ready for the security on his ship to send over, a moment later the man at the station, after checking it nodded once and then looked back up. "Authorization code confirmed, did you wish to simply transport down to the staton or to use the main landing pad?" "We'll be bringing the ship down." Darren answered. "Understood, I'll send you the coordinates immediately." He looked down for a moment and then back up. "I'll send someone to greet you there, anything else sir?" "No." A moment later a chime sounded as the data with the coordinates arrived and then the transmission was over with as the view changed back to one of the relay station as the ship headed for the landing pad. Darren could only watch as the security brought the ship in and made a landing. Once they were safely landed and the ship shut down he got up. "Lets get this over with." He motioned to Mike who got up to come along only to halt when one of the men stopped him. "He stays here." "What? Whatever for?" Darren exclaimed. "I have my orders sir." He motioned to two of the men who escorted Mike off the bridge against Darren's protests. "Where the hell are you taking him?" He snarled when the remaining two blocked his path. "Relax sir, he's only being detained in his own quarters until the cargo is secured on the ship." He motioned towards the where the hatch would be when the two men returned after locking Mike in his quarters. "You're so full of it." Darren snapped. "There's no reason why he can't see the data, after all the crew of the relay station did." "The crew of the relay station weren't your shipping partner when the first protocols were written." That left Darren speechless. Did Stevens think that Mike had helped him write the original protocols? He sighed out loud. It was too late to set Stevens straight on that assumption. Mike had been working with him when he did it, but he had never told Mike about it let alone got help from him to do so. "Fine." Darren finally said as he followed the four to leave the ship. Even now they were still wearing full security gear, something he found a bit laughable considering where they were going. He turned towards the main hatch to the ship as the locks released and the door opened. ------------------------------------------- OOC: And now it's your turn GuyYouMetOnline
Oops, just posted at the same time as Rach. Hopefully nothing conflicts (with an early glance it all looks okay).
Sounds like your group just missed Alexander who is off talking with his superior officer who just happens to be a member of The Underdogs. XP So I'd say you're good to go. Anyway, at the moment Alexander is beyond confused. lol
