1. Not a lot really, for the simple reason I haven't watched a lot of anime. XP Still out of what I have seen I like the opening song to Detective Conan, it's got a nice combination of fast paced music that really fits the type of series it is. I don't care for the vocals though, at least not for the English version. I also like the opening to Lucky Star It's almost ditsy and yet it fits the series so well and is fun to listen to. Fair warning... it's a bit addicting. I also like the opening to Lovely Complex The song for the second season is fun too, but I didn't see it over at youtube so I don't have a link for it. XP It's more of a rock song and really fits how the series has changed at that point. Now without a doubt, so far my favorite opening is from DNAngel I like the music to this series enough that I ended up getting all of the soundtracks to it. I love the piano aspect to it as well as the fact that the singer has a nice voice.
  2.
Disagreement is at the heart of democracy as well. Without it, and if everyone thought the same, we wouldn't be citizens of our representative republic, we'd be sheep. And being a sheeple is bad. Most teenagers are incapable of 'suddenly' seeing anyone's point of view but their own. I vaguely recall a time in which I disagreed with my mom because if I DID agree with her, I felt like I'd loose face. Now I tend to agree with her because I'm noticing she was mostly right all the time. ....except when it came to non Christian music poisoning my mind. I had public school to do that for me.
Sometimes it surprises me to see people get so worked up over having a difference of opinion when it comes to politics. But then my family for the most part has always been pretty laid back in the sense that having the same view as say mom or dad was not required. And some of the arguments/debates we've had over different issues have been fun because we don't have a problem with the other person seeing things differently. Take this current bill. My parents think it's stupid as hell and a waste of time. Where I and my older brothers disagree. Still, in a way I prefer it, even though I wish my parents could see that there is a problem with discrimination. I just like that we aren't little carbon copy idiots who all think the same. That kind of mindless mentality really gets on my nerves. When I was a teenager it didn't matter what my parents thought because to be honest, I didn't give a damn. Once I could actually vote I became more interested but until then? I avoided it like the plague since a lot of the stances here in Utah just annoy the hell out of me. And arguing with the other teenagers at the school I went to only had me wanting to strangle the stupid fools. lol
  3. I?m sure you all have been asked this before, what your sexual orientation is. Whether its heterosexual, bisexual or homosexual. But what got me thinking about it is first some conversations I?ve had recently and second those conversations reminding me of some very awkward social situations that came up when dealing with people who were previously unaware of what was going on in my life. Nothing to mind shattering I assure you, but my parents, being devote LDS/Mormons were less than thrilled when they learned about my first relationship I had that became intimate. Now that was a long time ago and though they don?t agree, they?ve long since gotten over it. Or rather they?ve decided to not make an issue out of that sort of thing anymore. Now as for situations as far as sexual orientation goes? That?s been more interesting since I am straight and have absolutely no interest in guys at all. But I have had roommates in the past who were gay and though most of the time it wasn?t a problem, I have had one who drove me up the wall since he couldn?t take no for an answer. I finally had to request being moved to another apartment to get the management to do something about it. Anyway, where do you stand and have you every had to deal with awkward social situations as a result of either your sexuality or that of one of your friends?
  4.
Alchemy might be a little much for the story, but it could work if, say, the only people who could wield it are the secret police.
Forget Alchemy and go for new technology for the secret police, like say special spring loaded arm sheaths that with proper training they learn to send knives flying with but a move of their body. Something that without proper education the commoners would think was magic. It would make them very intimidating and yet stay within the confines of a world that isn't as technologically advanced.
  5.
I would have my left index finger surgically amputated for one million dollars. Heck, I would probably do it for less. It's not like I really need that finger, PLUS it would make my hands even since I am already missing my right index finger. Come to think of it, if I were to get a million for each finger I would be willing to give up a few more.
I'm sure you can understand why the very idea of doing that for money is one of the absolute creepiest things I've read so far in this thread. :animeswea Honestly, I'd rather be poor the rest of my life. *shudder*
  6. All I have to say is it's a good thing I realized you were posting when I was working on mine. Since what I originally was going to do would have totally contradicted what you posted. XP Still, now that I've re-written it to match what you did Aaryanna_Mom... All I have to say is I want one of those cards! lol That, dear lady, was well played! ;)
  7. ?Well now, that was interesting,? Celesta observed. ?And far too good of an opportunity for putting an end to some of this trickery.? ?It?s too soon to think that even more deceit is not in the air.? Raone cautioned. ?I assure you Raone, I know better than to think that.? Celesta stated, carefully avoiding Illyria and Paraxis since both of them had proven to be dishonorable in their dealings within the Ragnarok. Ian was horribly torn, more than anything he wanted to get Charlotte away from the Kaijin, but it was crafty, clever and always made sure it was within easy reach of her. Occasionally gracing him with a smug smile when no one was looking. Damn that thing! The others, Patrick and Cho were no better as they could not see the danger that they were in. Cho seemed to not really care and Patrick was practically glued to her side and often glared at Ian and Charlotte as if their presence was not welcome. It was an agony to follow along with the charade of hunting for baby Kenneth when he knew that the Kaijin only intended to use it to escape the fate it was trapped in. Ian was so busy worrying over the Kaijin that he didn?t even notice when they entered a huge passageway that seemed to lead into a castle. It took the rasp of steel to bring him to his senses and realize that they had been trapped by a steel grate crashing down to cover the entry way they had just walked through. And the other way out was blocked by strong doors. Ian pulled back in fear as he realized what the slits in the walls were for. ?Be careful,? the Kaijin cautioned as it slyly looked at Ian. ?Even my attempt to stop the curse on this man was not enough to prevent the trap from springing.? ?So this is your fault!? Patrick snarled at Ian. Ignoring his wound that he had received earlier as he moved towards Ian. Ian started to protest and then halted when he realized how close Charlotte was to the monster that called itself the Kaijin. ?Patrick, don?t!? Cho cried out. ?It?s not his fault, I too was cursed by some power. So lets just find a way out of here instead, okay?? ?Listen to her Patrick,? Charlotte spoke up. ?Ian would never do such a thing.? She moved until she was standing next to him. ?You must be mistaken Kaijin, I know within my heart that Ian would never harm any of us.? ?What I think matters not,? the Kaijin explained. ?If you don?t find the way out when the trap springs, all of you will die.? It was at that moment that the others realized that something was poking out from the slits in the walls. Ian knew what it was though how they had managed to find their way into the entrance to the King?s castle was beyond him. He tried to move to protect Charlotte, but there was no way he could cover her on all sides to stop the King?s men from riddling her and everyone else with arrows. ?It seems that you all are too feeble minded to even know how to escape this.? The Kaijin sighed as it moved back to where the grate was and with a smooth motion forced it back up, enough for them to crawl under. ?Now hurry! Before the order is given to fire!? Ian ran with Charlotte towards the opening the Kaijin had made, quickly urging her to slip under the gate. Noticing out of the corner of his eye that both Cho and Patrick were doing the same. But when he moved to slip under himself a sharp pain caused him to halt and a jerk caused him to look down to see several metal points sticking from his chest. He stared stupidly at the arrow points. Then as he stumbled and fell he heard Charlotte?s screams of horror and Patrick?s frantic cries. With a thud he landed on his right side to realize that Cho too had been shot multiple times with arrows, pinning her to the floor as she was moving beneath the grate. Her expression dull as the light in her eyes faded. ?Cho!? Patrick was trying to pull her to safety and then, just as he got her through the gate came crashing down as the Kaijin let go and simply vanished to reappear on the other side. ?We must leave,? The Kaijin told Patrick and Charlotte. ?Their wounds are fatal. And if we stay much longer, those who inflicted them will come for both of you.? ?I can?t!? Patrick cried as he desperately tried to get Cho to wake up. ?Oh Ian!? Charlotte was sobbing, even as the Kaijin pulled both her and Patrick out of sight. And then, he knew no more.
  8. Name: Edward Steven Windsor Age: 27 Country of Origin: England Personality: Firm and unyielding, Edward is the type to make up his mind and stick with it. He comes across as being strict and in fact he is, but he still has a hint of kindness underneath all of that and he is never deliberately cruel. He has a firm belief in holding to one?s responsibilities and takes his as King quite seriously. Appearance: Here Edward stands at about six feet tall and is rarely seen without a pleasant expression on his face. Tall and fit he walks with an air of authority about him. Though he prefers a more casual dress he is always formally attired as is required for his station. Family History: Born as first son to the house of Windsor, Edward was educated from an early age in preparation for when he would eventually become the next King of England. His two younger brothers have also been educated to take other roles that would support him just as his younger sister has been preparing for when she will be married to the appropriate country. Edward enjoys a close bond between him and his siblings as all of them have been raised with the understanding that it is their duty to support one another in their roles within the house of Windsor. Occupation: Current King of England. Being extremely conscientious, Edward reads all government papers and often annoys his ministers by taking a prominent interest in government and policy. Edward is never content to simply take the advice of others as to what he should ultimately do. Social Standing: As the King of England, Edward is currently living in the palace. Have you ever had Revolutionary Thoughts? Of course not. However, he is aware that there are those who do. A concept that on some level he cannot understand.
  9.
Ahahaha, yeah right.
This from someone who has never met any of my friends. Nice.
I would only sell my body if the person taking it was someone I approved, lol. Just kidding...
sort of.

Oh I can see doing that, for myself that is. Well maybe in the past or when I'm not dating, but now? I would not do it. After all my girlfriend would probably clobber me if I did. Strike that, I know she would. XP
I've also done the whole "drink a gallon of milk and hold it down for 30 minutes" thing before. That was pretty hard, because milk just fills you up so quick and having that much in your body is just unhealthy. I made quite a bit of money on that one...:animesmil
One of my roommates tried that, he ended up throwing most of it back up before the time he had to keep it down came up. He was so close to keeping it down long enough too. We ended up giving him some of the money from the bet that he couldn't anyway, just cause we felt sorry for him. lol
  10. The title really says it all, it?s simple, if given a substantial sum of money, what would you be willing to do? I?ve run into this question many times, in movies, older threads here, even in discussions at school or just with friends. Oh and by substantial I'm talking in the millions here. Anyway, some of the discussions I've had produced the declaration that one would perhaps be willing to sell their body but unwilling to harm someone else or commit murder. Or the statement that nothing could entice them to go against their moral code or do something that they are normally opposed to. Personally I like to think that no amount of money could persuade me to do something I would normally be very opposed to and yet without actually facing such a situation, I have to admit that I honestly don?t know what I would actually do. So? How about the rest of you? Would you do something if the price is right and if so what and why? Or if you wouldn't, again what and why?
  11.
While I love ham, no. I just choke down the turkey.
Well that's no fun. As much as I love turkey, I also love all the other stuff my family has prepared. With my parents, older brothers who are married and assorted relatives, we have a huge feast! And that includes far more than just turkey. We almost always have ham, some form of roast, different shrimp and rice recipes, etc. You can easily skip turkey at my parents place and no one would even notice.
  12.
We do have an existing cable infrastructure but there is much debate about the development of a new, ultra-high speed fibre optic network. Why is there that debate? Simply because of the massive, massive expense. And I know such debates are occurring in other wealthy nations as well (including the U.S.) So while the overall concept of how digital distribution might be a reasonable replacement for digital media at some point is fair to consider...I do think it has to go hand-in-hand with an understanding of the realities as well. It's important to understand why new physical media formats are being sought by major industry players.
There's another thing to consider as well, until better networks are in place, services like say Comcast, are coming down on what they consider bandwidth hogs. People who download/stream a lot of material. So even if you want to rely on digital distribution, at the moment, attempting to go that route can land you in the position of being given a warning to back off or have your Internet service cut. Right now, it's easier to have a system that does not rely on digital distribution since the set up to support it just doesn't really exist yet. At least not on the scale of getting everything that way. Plus, I would rather have most of my stuff in a physical format anyway. So better storage in a physical format is what I want to see.
  13.
The Shield Card's effect is permanent, BUT it only protects from Death Cards. So there are a few ways around it. One of the ways was Darren's Sure Shot Card, but he's out of the game already so it can't be done. But some other cards might work, perhaps... ;D Yes, I'm being evil again. XP
*wonders what the other cards are* And yes Sandy... You are totally evil. This is going to get interesting, to see just who has something up their sleeve that can outwit that shield card.
  14. Kerstin was less than thrilled to be in sector eight. Even though they had managed to pass the border without incident, in spite of being in but a simple freighter, she still kept expecting to be stopped and arrested at any time. It wouldn't matter that she was technically considered a civilian. The moment she had done what Fleet Admiral Stevens had requested was the moment she lost some of the protection that came from simply being a civilian. And though the Resistance had always taken the stance of leaving civilians out of things as much as possible, the sectors that had broken off to join with them to form the New Alliance would most likely have no problems with sticking to standard methods, which meant if she screwed up, there was no telling what would happen. It was a thought that weighed heavily on her mind as she casually strode through the main capitol of the world in sector eight, carefully attempting to play the role of a paid escort by holding on to the arm of the undercover agent she was suppose to go along with. Walking as if she had no care or thought beyond her current job. It wasn't easy. Kerstin was not use to wearing the high heels or the soft silk that clung to her like a second skin. Nor was she use to getting stares either. It was horribly uncomfortable to be wearing something that not only was sleeveless but exposed her shoulders, most of her back, and her legs as well with the high slits going up the sides nearly to her waist. And the front of the monstrosity that they dared to call a dress? Never had she been so barely covered. Be calm, she thought as they approached the building that would take them below to where the meeting was being held, or rather to the location where they would transport to the real meeting. The agent with her merely ignored her nervousness and talked with her about things of no consequence as they finally entered the complex, showed their ID to the security and then stepped through the transport door taking them to the meeting. The room itself explained nothing as it was but a mere circular table with others sitting around it, their expressions guarded as everyone took a seat once they had all arrived. As was required she was fitted with ear pieces that would keep her from being able to hear what was said. Not that she wanted to hear anyway. Kerstin just did her best to pretend to cling to the man she was with while carefully taking in what everyone looked like. There were twelve people total and by the time the meeting was done she had gotten a look at each one of them. It would take her a little time, but she would be able to sketch each and everyone of them. I hope Stevens is happy with this. She thought as they finally got up and left when the meeting came to a close. As they walked through the transport door and back into the city, all she could think about was getting back to the ship and out of the sector as soon as possible. She did not think to watch or even notice if anyone was following them.
  15. Oh I bet that you would like for us to not worry Shy. :p No deal. It certainly isn't unreasonable to wait on Sandy to clear that up for us. Since I too would like clarification as to how that shield card works. Because at this stage in the game, such a detail could mean the difference between winning or losing and I intend to win.
  16. Celesta merely watched as Bellanna stormed out of the temple, clearly annoyed. She wasn't the only one, even Raone, though he seemed as calm as always, Celesta could easily sense his unease. Or so she thought. She lacked the ability to see the truth as he did. But still, Celesta was certain that he was unhappy with how things were progressing. And yet Illyria and Paraxis, other than their irritation with each other, they seemed far from it. Cho could have never guessed that her life would be turned upside down so drastically. And even though on some level she had resigned herself to what was happening, she wished that it had never had. Reiko, Jamie and now Patrick. Each one making her feel like she was slowly going insane. Tears started flowing down her face as she silently got dressed. "Why are you crying Cho?" Patrick asked her confused by her sad expression. "It's nothing Patrick, we should return to the others." Cho hastily brushed the tears away and put her fake smile back on. "No it's not!" Patrick grabbed her right wrist tightly, all sorts of wild thoughts entering his mind. Were the other women jealous of her beauty? Had they said something to hurt her feelings? His expression darkened just a tiny bit at the thought. "Please Patrick, you're hurting me, let go!" Cho pulled free only to jump when he grabbed her again with both hands this time. "I would never hurt you Cho! How could you say that?" "No! You misunderstand! I only meant that you were holding my wrist a little too tightly." Cho was startled by the intensity of Patrick's gaze, it was different than what she had seen in the others. It was a bit frightening. "Daughter of Bellanna and Son of Illyria, we must make haste." Startled Patrick let go, turning to face the Kaijin as a surge of possessiveness overcame him. They're all trying to come between me and Cho! He thought. "What are you talking about? Surely you can give us a little more time!" Patrick objected. "If that is your wish, however, Naomi has taken Jeanne and fled with her. If we don't hurry they will get to the baby before we can." The Kaijin explained. "I don't understand, why would she do that?" Cho was puzzled, Naomi had been so quick to help them subdue Jeanne and had even healed Patrick. "I wish it were not so, but I fear that Jeanne has somehow tainted Naomi with the power within her." "Then I say good riddance to both of them." Patrick turned to smile at Cho. "I'd rather be alone with you anyway." Cho started to object and then stopped, too tired to care anymore. It made no sense. Patrick's obsessive behavior as well as what Naomi had done. Just as she still was uncertain about the Kaijin and it's motives. "All right, lets get going." Cho told the the Kaijin. "So you're saying you don't want to be alone with me? Is that it?" Patrick glared at her a bit. How could she not see how much he loved her? "Please Patrick! I'm not trying to start a fight. Don't you want to help that poor baby? What if it was our own child?" Patrick pulled back a bit... Their own child? Patrick nodded. "Lets get going then." He took Cho's hand in his own and turned to face the Kaijin, to follow it since they were unable to sense the others like it could.
  17.
Here's a thought: why would they want to work somewhere where they will be looked down upon anyway?
Here's a thought, why should they have to look elsewhere for a job because someone would be so narrow minded as to care about what their sexual orientation is? This kind of discrimination is a problem here in Utah. It doesn't get put out into the public eye very often since people like to pretend it doesn't happen, but many if not all of my friends who are homosexual know that talking about it or even letting it be known at work is a big mistake that could get you fired. This is but one example that I could find an article on it that happened here in the last decade: Article This kind of harassment is unacceptable in my opinion and just shows that this type of legislation is long overdue.
  18. She sounds annoying, but really the best option would be to either ignore her or to notify your teachers. Because the others are right, you don't beat up a woman. That's just not cool. Even if it's annoying that you can't when it's someone who really deserves to be beaten up. Though sometimes that can be solved by introducing them to another woman who would beat them up for hassling you in the first place. XP And yes, that's bad advice, but funny as hell to see when some chick who has been hassling you for a while gets totally pwned by another woman. And I mean verbally, not outright fighting.
  19.
Am I the only one who just felt an overwhelming surge of excitement?!
Yes, you're the only one, other than your lackeys who follow you around the boards. So I'd say it's more like a surge of over optimism since James has already made it clear that will never happen:
If you want something sexual, there is plenty of stuff out there to service you. I'm obviously never going to debase OtakuBoards like that.
*pokes DB or whatever he's calling himself these days* :p As for the topic, I don't have any suggestions since most of what I would use, the site already has in the current tags available.
  20. Actually I think the plot point is fun. So as long as the baby is an NPC, I'm fine with the kid being around. Besides, I'd rather kill off someone else. All I need is one more point and I'll be set! Provided that I actually get a death card instead of something else. As much fun as the poison was, I'd rather not get another one. XP
  21.
But im sorry i didnt know you couldnt voice opinions in a FORUM, frankly this being my first thread and haveing that be the first response, well i guess ill just stick to myotaku.
Sure you can. ;) Don't let someone misunderstanding your request bother you. It happens on forums. Also, if it was on myOtaku, then the best person to ask would probably be Adam, the site founder. If anyone would know about this feature it would be him: Adam Now as for Deus ex Machina, just do what the rest of us do, ignore him when he's like that. After all, plenty of other people responded so that's proof right there that the rest of us are friendly. :)
  22. Meh, what Crystia said since I'm too lazy to type it up myself. Also, I do have a question for you. Is Charlotte's baby an NPC? Or do we need a death card to kill the kid off? I'm assuming it's an NPC since it's not an original soul in the game so whoever owns Charlotte can't win if the baby lives. Also, if it's considered an NPC and you'd rather we leave the kid alone for the current plot point going on, I'd like to know that too so I don't clobber the kid and annoy you in the process. :p
  23. I intend to wait as well, to see just which format comes out on top. I'd hate to spend the money on one only for it to fold and leave me with useless equipment. It's way to early to see just which format is going to end up being the one that becomes widely accepted. I see no need to state a preference or to argue over which is better. It will be interesting to see just which one makes it out on top though.
  24. I can't stand being disorganized, so my bedroom and everything in it is nice and organized and clean. The same with my bathroom since my apartment is the type where each person has their own attached to their bedroom. I keep that nice and clean too. I don't mind a little clutter every now and then, but that's not the same as just being a slob. Fortunately my two roommates are fairly neat, for a guy that is. Their rooms though not as clean as mine, at least don't reek since they usually clean things a couple of times a month and it's kind of an unwritten law that the kitchen and main room has to be kept uncluttered and neat. And for the most part they do, enough that I don't grip over the occasional dish in the sink since it doesn't happen very often. I have had roommates in the past that were complete and total pigs, something that I've always complained to the management about when they've refused to keep their mess confined to their bedrooms. It's embarrassing and annoying to have your girlfriend over when the place is a mess. Anyway, for the moment, that's not an issue. Which is good since I like my roommates.
  25. I realize that for those of you who are in Canada Thanksgiving is long over with. However for those of us who are in the states, it's coming up in the next couple of weeks. Sadly, I really don't know a lot about the holiday. I've never taken the time to learn about it's historical roots. But it is something that I remember and look forward to for obvious reasons. The family get together and all of the food. I won't deny that I love going to my parents on this holiday and meeting up with all of my family since it's one of the few times we all get together. So I always look forward to that. My mom is of course an excellent cook and since I no longer live at home, I follow a type of family tradition where you are required to bring something to go with the rest of the food. I'm not much of a cook but I do try to bring something. XP Most of the holiday is spent just enjoying leftovers and catching up on what everyone is doing. And staying out of the way of all of the insane shoppers for the next few days. It gets pretty crazy with all of the sales and such. This year, I plan on going to a concert instead of staying inside like I always do. But other than that It will just be a time for family and friends. Anyway, what do the rest of you do on this holiday? Mine is pretty simple and yet all the more enjoyable since it's just a nice break from my otherwise busy schedule. Oh and if it's over for you, what did you do this year and what have you done in the past? One of my wackiest Thanksgivings was agreeing to go with my mom on those shopping days. It was insane but I still had fun running around with her. I don't know if I'd want to do that again though. XP
