1. Nope, I already know that my predictions are usually wrong. Except for when I'm watching silly horror flicks and making bets with my roommates as to who's going to die next. I seem to have a pretty good rate of figuring out who is going to die. But then hey, those movies are so obvious at times that it's about impossible to miss just who's going to be nailed next. lol
 2. Right now the only consoles I have are the ps2 and the gamecube. I use to have a N64 but it wore out and I never bothered to replace it, especially since the Zelda games I had for it were put on a disk for the gamecube. I never owned a SNES though my brothers did and we played it a lot. I believe it still works. As for what I'd like to get. Absolutely nothing. There isn't a single console out there right now that I'm interested in. Once they pick up more games I might get a Wii, but for now? I'm still too broke after buying my new Cello last week. And after spending 10,000 plus on that Cello... I'm more inclined to start saving for a car instead of spending my money on a console when I don't play games that often.
 3. Something that I have noticed a lot, is that people will sign up for an rpg and then never bother to post in it. Or they do so maybe once or twice and vanish. Which makes me wonder why they even bothered to make that sign up in the first place. It really makes no sense to me since I never sign up for something unless I intend to be a part of it. I'm sure there are reasons like school or work, or even a loss of interest in the rpg, but at the same time I'll see those people who signed up for one and never post... turn around and sign up for something else and actually post. And yet they can't be bothered to inform the others that they aren't going to be active in the other rpg they signed up for. So I guess what I'm saying is don't sign up just to see if you'll get accepted. It's just pointless and takes the fun out of it for those players who are interested in being a part of it. Sign up because you really want to be a part of that rpg. The same goes for the creator, don't start it and then leave those who joined high and dry. I see that too, the comment that I'll be starting things and then nothing happens.
 4. I've been watching Lovely Complex as well since it's one of the better romantic comedies that I've seen in a while. The lead character, Risa, makes the funniest and zaniest faces through out the show. I never get tired of watching her. I'm also watching Lucky Star and though I rarely catch the references unless I'm lucky and the fan sub makes note of it, it is hilarious to watch the antics between Konata and the other girls. As for reading... Like Crystia and Gavin... School has made putting that kind of stuff on hold a necessity. If only because there are other things I would rather do with my spare time. But still, between my own studies and the teaching I do... anime related reading will be on hold for a while.
 5. Almost none actually. I just don't have the time to put that kind of hours into a game. Often I beat it once and then I'm done with it. Still if you include all the games in the series then I've easily put in over one hundred hours into the Zelda games. Some of them I have played more than once, but I rarely finish all the side quests like gathering poe's or gold spiders. The other game I've actually managed to hit one hundred hours is Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. And that came from doing the bonus dungeons, which I have yet to finish. The time needed to level up, earn money, do weapons and armor customization makes hitting one hundred hours a given. And I haven't even touched the next level of difficulty or unlocked the final 4D level. I've enjoyed plenty of other games, but none of them hit that mark of 100+ hours.
 6.
What? Delete posts when you three are being so entertaining? I think not! lol
Bah! Don't encourage them! Though I do have to admit... It is entertaining. Though some of those comments... I'm going to steer clear of them. lol That and I'm running out of things to say I'm proud of. I don't want to appear too vain after all. And somethings even though I am proud of them, I have no clue how I manged to get/do them in the first place. Like my parents, it's not like I chose them, but they are awesome and I'm proud to be their son. :animesmil
 7. Well here's my attempt. Hope you like it.
 8.
Ehm... No... If they'd treat me like a last resort, I wouldn't be their friend, now would I?
Same here, those few who slip into that mode of you're the last resort end up off my friends list at that point. So I really don't have friends like this, or rather once they start behaving like that, the friendship pretty much ends at that point.
 9. Like Dagger said, I think it would depend on what you mean by control freak ChibiHorsewoman. For the most part I am in control of everything around me, for the same reasons Beth already mentioned. And yet like Dagger said I never try to force others to join me. So depending on what it is I'm more than sometimes but clearly not always the one in control. Though those who seem to think they should be the one to make all the decisions do get on my nerves and don't remain my friend for long. That just gets boring real quick.
 10.
My God, you all really need to go to Group Sounds for a while to just relax and lighten up, go look at cat captions, laugh and then come back here and hang your collective heads in shame for being so serious.
But that's the thing Gavin... I wasn't being serious! I was trying to twit DB. :p
I'm proud of Gavin's ability to lie about his own shortcomings.
Heh, best response in the entire thread in my opinion. Now for something different and totally silly, I'm proud to have met someone here from OB. Crystia and I spent most of yesterday with Beth at the anime convention in Salt Lake City yesterday. And boy was that fun! :catgirl: And why am I proud of it? Because doing things like coming here and going to anime conventions is something I was too busy with school and other things to even consider. [yes at one time I considered them a waste of time, my loss really] So I'm glad I've lightened up over the years. :animesmil
 11. Well after doing a quick check it seems that we haven't had a thread about blankets in over two years. And since I was not around then we need to have one just so I and every other person who wasn't can tell us about their blankets. And I'm sure those of you who did have since picked up new ones. Anyway, for the most part I really don't think about blankets at all, other than to keep them clean and to use one or two to keep warm at night. But my mom seems to think that if she doesn't regularly give me some new blanket to add to my collection, that I'll freeze to death in my apartment in the winter. Ever since I moved out about five years ago, I get at least one new blanket from her each year. This year it was a huge comforter type deal that she got the set on sale when her and my dad were getting things for themselves. It's one of those patchwork types and it's in nice browns and tans that actually goes pretty good with the other stuff in my room. Now as to what I prefer, for the most part I really don't care. I think about the only type I always like to have is an electric one for the winter. It's just nice to use to get all toasty before switching it off and going to sleep. And soft throw blankets are perfect for getting cozy with your girlfriend while watching a movie, especially when it's cold outside. The few times I've picked that out I've always gone for one that's nice as soft since most girls I've dated like soft fuzzy blankets. Anyway, what about the rest of you? What's your take on blankets?
 12.
I think it's also a good idea to have a certain amount of plots as well as objectives worked out before you ever post it in the Adventure Inn. But then I like a certain amount of direction so it makes it easier if you already know that you will have lots for the players to do.
I have to agree with this, especially if you have new players. When I first started, I didn't have a clue what to do even though I wanted to be a part of the rpg I signed up for. And I'm pretty sure Silver One was the first since I joined just so I could be part of it. Heh. Still having that direction from Beth really made it easier for me to learn how to effectively rpg. She gave us enough to go on and yet not too much either. So if you want to do your own rpg Prem. It's definately a good idea to have plans as to where it will go and what the players will be doing before you even post in the Adventure Inn. I think I must have spent over a month getting ready for the Maze and that was even with a perfectly good example to build off of. Also, once you write that sign up, send it to someone to look it over. I sent mine to Sandy and he essentially ripped it to pieces [I gave him grief over that but still in the end he was right and I apologized for taking it too personal] Anyway, what happened though is I was able to revamp it completely and come up with a much better and more focused idea. In many ways I owe the success to his input as well as Beth's since they helped me to see where I could do things better. So even if you come up with an idea and you want to start having fun immediately, hold off and do the homework first, in the end you'll have a lot more fun since you'll know where you're going.
 13.
And seeing as nobody has said it yet, at least not in the last fifteen responses, I'm also proud of the size of my penis. As from the title, this thread has just been asking for that response. ;)
Well yeah, but I was expecting DB to say it, not you! lol Anyway... as for other things I'm proud of. My education. Getting my Bachelor's Degree, being nearly finished with my Masters and now... getting accepted into the university's Doctorate program since I finally got my acceptance letter from the school. It would have sucked to have to apply elsewhere and since they don't accept every applicant I was glad to finally get that letter last week. :catgirl:
 14.
I haven't seen a bank in Canada yet that lets your debit card tie in with Visa/Mastercard/AMEX companies. I'm not sure about the States but the difference between Credit Cards and Debit Cards are really big here. Hotel Rooms wont take a Debit Card as a deposit, but they will with Credit Cards. And although it's pretty easy to use a Credit Card Number and Expiry Date online, my Debit Account would require... a little more elbow grease (and possibly some headlight fluid). Using my Debit Card also means that I have to pay fees for certain transactions...
Interesting since in the states, if I understand it correctly a debit card is separate from a visa/check card since the bank I go to has both. The card runs as if it was a credit card but it comes from your checking account. But the advantage is that so long as you have the funds, you can use it anywhere. Which is why I like it. It's really no different than a Visa card except you aren't borrowing money, simply using your own. You just have to make sure you keep track of what's in your account so you don't try to spend money you don't have. It also has no fees like a debit card does, some of those fees for debit cards are nothing more than a way to gouge you. Anyway, I think everyone has already given you pretty good advice. I'd start with just one card and keep it paid off and avoid the temptation of getting more than you really need.
 15. Well there are other people here who share the same birthday that I do, but other than Crystia I don't know any of them. Anyway, my birthday is on October 31 and apparently I do share it with some people I've heard of. Dan Rather: I never really watched CBS Evening News when he was doing it though. Michael Landon: I vaguely remember seeing him in re-runs of Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie. John Candy: I remember him from a lot of movies like Space Balls, Uncle Buck and National Lampoon's Vacation. Still the one I remember the most is Crystia since that's how I ended up noticing her in High School. She was new since her family had moved to Utah that summer and she came to school that day all decked out in a very nice witch outfit. And learning that it was her birthday as well resulted in my talking to her. Though technically she's older than me. :p At least by a couple of hours, since it also seems that we were born the same year too. lol
 16. Thanks, and the same goes to both of you. :catgirl: I honestly wasn't sure who Sandy was going to chose. I am happy with how the article we did turned out and yet I have to agree, it would have been nice to work on making it more focused. But with school and other obligations, time wise it would have been a pain and definately unfair to make The Aces wait. Still I'm not going to complain since we did win the challenge and Charles was happy with how the article was written and it was included in Otakupedia. I think, now that I'm looking back, that it might have been better to separate out some of the history of the boards and it's format instead of trying to use it to explain the forum structure. But again I still like how it turned out just the same. And regardless of everything I still think it was an excellent informal article. ;) And good practice for the one I'm currently researching since doing that got me all interested in other aspects of the boards. Though what I'm working on will take a while. Unlike the Yu Yu Hakusho forum, the person I'm researching has a very long history for me to sort though. Heh. Anyway, best of luck you two. Though I'm thinking that both of you are going to totally clobber me. XP
 17. Okay, time for some Lawyer jokes. XP How many lawyers does it take to change a light bulb? "How many can you afford?" It only takes one to change your bulb...to his. Two. One to change it and one to keep interrupting by standing up and shouting "Objection!" Three. One to do it and two to sue him for malpractice. Three. One to turn the bulb, one to shake him off the ladder, and the third to sue the ladder company. Three. One to sue the power company for insufficiently supplying power, or negligent failure to prevent the surge that made the bulb burn out in the first place, one to sue the electrician who wired the house, and one to sue the bulb manufacturers. Fifty four. Eight to argue, one to get a continuance, one to object, one to demur, two to research precedents, one to dictate a letter, one to stipulate, five to turn in their time cards, one to depose, one to write interrogatories, two to settle, one to order a secretary to change the bulb, and twenty-eight to bill for professional services. How many lawyers does it take to screw in a light bulb? None, lawyers only screw us. And finally, my favorite lawyer joke... How can you tell if it's cold outside? When a lawyer is walking down the street with his hands in his own pockets.
 18.
"Well it is funny," She gave Sunny a look as if daring her/him to disagree and then she snickered. "Besides Rach... I mean Romona is just too adorable when she's angry."
>_< Oh good grief! I just caught this part. Bah! Traitor! lol
A quick moment to shoot off a pm to indifference that she had found it and then SunfallE pulled her modrod out. "BKstyles! Gavin!" She called out, startling a number of members near her. "I'll show you two what's funny!"
Heh, now that I'd like to see, her clobbering both of you for laughing.
For the most part they were all quite funny [strike]and the best ones were the ones with me in them[/strike'].
Well I kind of had to include you since the first thing I thought of when I saw what we were suppose to do was that you and Gavin would find it funny. I can totally see both of you snickering over it. :p Anyway, don't be so hard on yourself Prem, I got a good laugh out of your entry. And Gavin... I can also totally see BKstyles as Shooter. lol Oh and to whoever voted for my entry, you have my thanks. I'm glad to know that someone enjoyed it. :) And finally... I find it kind of funny that here we are at the end and we still don't know what the prize is! lol
 19.
All right you two, good work on sending me your thoughts and input as to how you thought we should do the review. I've gone ahead and posted it. :catgirl: I look forward to seeing what The Aces write as well as finally seeing the outcome of this challenge. I'm a little nervous since even though I'd like to win, I'm not sure I want to face the two of you if we do! lol Either way, since we'll be on the Jury if we lose... I'm thinking it's going to be fun to see what the final challenges coming up are! :catgirl:
You're welcome. ;) I look forward to seeing what The Aces post as well. I'm sure there are things we could have done differently, but overall I'm more than pleased with how it turned out. Especially after all the work we put into it. XP Also, you're not the only one who is nervous. lol Even if it's only to end up on the Jury! I'm curious as to what the final challenge will be should we win and I'm curious about the involvement one would have if they were on the Jury! Anyway, I have to agree, seeing what's coming up is going to be fun. Also, regardless of how it turns out, I've enjoyed working with both of you. And with everyone else as well.
 20.
have you ever wanted to do some thing that was a part of your hobby, only to have some one you love tell you some thing that kind of hurt you in some way.
Well I wouldn't say that it hurt me, at least not seriously, but when I was about twelve I decided I was going to be a professional musician. I had been taking lessons for the Cello since I was about eight and I decided that my little music hobby as my parents liked to call it was more than just something I did for fun. I'm quite sure they didn't mean to hurt my feelings back then but I clearly remember my father telling me that I needed to pick something that didn't require real dedication. Which really made me mad since I felt dedicated! lol Ironically, that hobby has become my career since I will be getting my Masters degree at the end of this semester. Now my new hobby that they give me odd looks over is Anime and Manga since I've only been into that for a year and a half. So some of my friends are surprised that I visit this site as much as I do. I'm sure they'll get use to it though. Heh. And if they're smart, they'll do the same thing. Also, now that I'm an adult, those occasional rude comments don't bother me at all, especially since most of the time they don't realize that they are being rude.
 21. I'm going to follow Gavin's example and only talk about my newest nickname. That and I've never really got much in the way of nicknames or rather ones that were worth remembering. Anyway, my newest one is Rach. And I got that nickname here at OtakuBoards. Since there is another Darren here and that name stealer got it as a user name as well since they joined before I did. Though it's more fun to have something different than my real name so I don't really mind. lol In the end people started abbreviating Rachmaninoff to Rach and I even tend to sign my pm's with it as well since I've gotten use to it.
 22.
Whee! :catgirl: Even though I'm sad to have put up my final post for this part. XP
I know what you mean. Heh. It does seem odd. We've been doing this for so long so I'm going to miss it while I'm waiting for the next part to start. Anyway... Darren is of course less than thrilled since his position leaves him stuck on the Creator when he'd rather head to the outer rim and steer clear of things. But with Kerstin there he's already figured out that he's going nowhere. Also, even though I'm not sure if Mike is going to factor into the next part or not I named my ship since it seems I forgot. Though that's a weird name you suggested SunfallE. But seeing that I forgot to name the ship all this time... Serves me right. XP Now... Don't keep us waiting too long for the sequel. :catgirl: I'm thinking that things are going to get very interesting with so many sectors breaking off. So seeing how that plays out will be fun. Though I have to agree with Aaryanna, sucks to be Jason and Celestia. Though I'm sure that they'll at least be happy to learn that Daniel escaped thanks to Kiva deciding to run.
 23. Darren was resisting the urge to laugh. It wasn't funny, but part of him just thought it was rather ironic that sectors seven through twelve had broken off from the rest of the Empire. And in a way, it was not surprising. Not after he had heard on the news about what the four factions had been hiding. If my family had the blood of the lesser races in it, I would have hidden that knowledge too. But as he stood there in his quarters, looking out at space, the real irony came from realizing that until told otherwise, he was stuck on the Creator. With the prospect of war occurring, Sandra had made it clear that he was going nowhere. Once again he was going to be expected to use his knowledge of shipping to aid the High Council, only this time he was going to be using it to track down smuggling and other aspects that could indicate people were aiding those in the sectors that had broken off. Darren had started to object, only to shut up when he realized the position he was in. Kerstin was still on board the Creator and Mike was in sector five when the borders had been shut down. Even if part of him wanted to get on board his ship, the Wilkey and run for one of the sectors that had broken off, it just wasn't possible. For one thing he doubted that Sandra or Jared would give him the clearance to get out of sector one. And his ship, though well equipped, was a freighter. It had no special defenses or any weapons at all. Darren sighed. No he should have realized that once he had been dragged in this mess he was stuck. And though he was certain that Sandra would do nothing, he did not trust Jared to be above using whatever means was necessary to ensure his cooperation. And the only thing he truly cared about was here on the Creator. In the end it would be better to say nothing and simply do what was expected. At least he had been able to tell Kerstin that Daniel was no longer in sector one. It was no secret that Kiva and her crew had left. They were not the only ones, all through sectors one through six, there were reports of people making a run for one of the sectors that had broken off. Not a lot but some. Though most of them were caught before they even got out of the sector they were in. Unlike Kiva they lacked the means to simply evade the military. It had surprised him at how much the news that Daniel had escaped made Kerstin happy. At least at first, since considering all that had happened, he knew he shouldn't be surprised. Kerstin was like that, once she understood or knew what someone was like she was pretty forward about how she felt about them and the knowledge that he had turned out to be a Commander in the Resistance had hurt. She did not want anything to happen to him. And in a way he could understand that, if only because he did not want anything to happen to her. Darren continued watching the fleet as more and more ships began to show up. He didn't know what Stevens had in mind, but he'd find out soon enough. Though he imagined that Stevens would move to reclaim the sectors that had broken off. If only he had not been dragged into this mess. Darren would have much happier to still simply be a merchant. He shrugged mentally, I guess I'll find out what's going to happen soon enough.
 24. All right, just like it says at the end of my post with the tag, SunfallE is going to finish up that bit in the Internet cafe. She's going to go over what our characters find and that's going to end up giving them some information in regards to the 'Count' who's holding Aeru. I'm not completely sure how she's going to do it though, I just set things up like she asked me to. ;)
 25. Op. 2. Adagio It didn't take Alex and Lucia very long to arrive at the top of the building where they were suppose to meet Adrian and Astera, but when they arrived, no one was there. And a brief fly around revealed that no other Shinigami were in the area. Great. Now what? Alex was landing on the roof top next to Lucia who had already done so when a strange chime sounded. Puzzled he watched Lucia pull out her Crystal Communicator. I wonder where she got that thing? As far as Alex knew nothing like it existed on Earth. Lucia read something and then put it away. "Adrian is not finished with his part of the city, he's gone to meet with Nathan." She looked up at Alex. "Though the message says he'll meet us later, there's no reason for us to stay here, we should check into the meaning behind the clue: Death Whispered A Lullaby It's probably a good idea to check at one of the Internet cafe's around here." Alex followed her as Lucia flew down to the street and with a blur changed into the shorts and casual shirt she often wore. Immediately heading towards a little coffee shop nearby. It was a little surprising since he knew how much she hated human technology. "I'm surprised that you even use the Internet, after all, everyone knows how much you dislike..." Alex almost winced when Lucia gave him a look as if he was stupid. "Whether or not I like it does not affect using it to complete a mission. Besides, you're going to use it not me." Lucia said with a shrug. Alex just reached up and scratched the side of his head, "Uh, yeah, I knew that." But Lucia just kept heading towards the cafe, taking no notice of the glances they were getting as she took one of the spots near the back that had a workstation for customers to use. Within moments they were seated and Alex had used his credit card to pay for the session. He had barely entered the words Death Whispered A Lullaby when the owner of the cafe came over. "I'm gonna have to ask you two to leave." He pointed to the sign that said no pets. Alex felt Nall start to stiffen but Lucia beat him to doing anything. "And I'm going to have to ask you to mind your own business," she said firmly, even as she pulled her wallet out of her pocket, opening it up and showing the man something. He looked at it and bowed slightly, "Understood ma'am." To Alex's complete surprise he turned around and left. "What did you show him?" Lucia just opened her wallet again and showed Alex, but the slot for an identification card was only holding an empty piece of paper. "Uh Lucia, there's nothing there." "It's paper that is treated with a substance that is psychically receptive, all I have to do is think of what I want it to show someone and that's what they will see." Lucia put her wallet away. "What? I've never heard of that before, where did you get it?" But Lucia just fixed him with a stare, the same look she gave anyone who asked about her communicator or anything else she had. Just like her wallet, it looked ordinary enough, that is unless one was holding it. The material was a flexible type of Crystal just like her communicator was. "Just look for what Death Whispered A Lullaby means Alex, once you've done that we'll also see what we can find out about Vampires." "Heh, Right." Alex turned back to the computer and pressed enter to start the search, in mere seconds links to different information as to what the phrase could mean pulled up. ************************************** OOC: Tag SunfallE
