Actually, it isn't really that caffeine keeps me awake. I can endure sleep-deprivation so long as I'm actually doing something, whether it be physically or mentally. So what Mountain Dew does for me is speed my brain up to, like, twice again its normal fuction-level, and that allows me to ward off the urge to crash. It doesn't keep me awake, just better allows me to do so myself.
I've noticed the same effect when I have something with caffeine. it doesn't make me feel more awake, it just makes my thinking a little clearer. However depending on how tired I am, sometimes even that isn't enough to keep me awake.

Also I've gotten so used to tagging my posts manually that sometimes I forget what those buttons up top even do.
And I've always just highlighted and clicked to apply tags. It's handy when you need to apply more than one effect since it stays highlighted even after you add one thing.

For some reason, reading this article just made me laugh. ?Real Buzz? welcomes Buzz Lightyear back I was also unaware that it had even happened to begin with, or if I read about it, I forgot. For some reason, the idea of holding any type of welcome back from space for a toy, just keeps making me laugh. It's amusing. It was kind of nifty that Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin was there for the event. So now I wonder what's next on the agenda for being sent to space. What do you guys think?

We all do it. We put off doing an assignment or cleaning up our room or even taking care of errands that need to be dealt with. The question I'm asking here is whether or not you're pretty hard core about putting things off till the last moment, or if it's just something you do from time to time. For example I'm dealing with some students who got the bright idea that spending their spare time playing Halo instead of doing assignments was going to work out somehow. Naturally it's not, they can't go back and earn the grade on the assignments and tests that they failed, they'll either need to pull out or toe the line and earn a low grade for the semester. Personally I'm guilty of it, but for the most part I'm pretty good about keeping on top of stuff, especially anything related to practice, since my day doesn't feel right if I skip that. lol Anyway, what's your level of procrastination and what kind of things do you put off, if any?

No texting @ dinner! Parenting digital kids

[B']LINK FAIL
Works fine for me, but you are in the UK right?
I don't understand why ANYONE would think that he should be overlooked simply for being "famous".
Because some people think that being artistic or having money, makes you somehow exempt from the law. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. But upon reflection, I realize it was to be expected. No texting @ dinner! Parenting digital kids This wasn't an issue for me, but I'm sure it may be for some of you. What do you think? Personally I think good etiquette applies to this as well. It's like turning it off for when you're in a movie or in class. Seems reasonable for parents to expect their kids to turn it off during dinner or when they're out for special occasions.

Looking Glass ?You seem pretty relaxed, Alex.? Alex just grinned at Nall in response. Sure he was still feeling annoyed over what had happened, but felt different than it did before. This time he already knew that Nathan would help him work on his ability to fight. He still had sessions with Adrian and Astera to look forward to as well. Whoever this Shou Jian was, they didn?t know where he lived or even who he was. If necessary, they could simply hold off on doing anything while they worked on improving their skills. It helped that nothing had happened as he carried about his usual duties since that day. ?Don?t we have a meeting at Phaidra?s place in a bit?? Nall reminded him, interrupting his train of thought. ?Yeah, as soon as we take care of the triplets we?ll head over.? ------------------------- Alex really liked Phaidra?s place, even though he couldn?t quite put his finger on the reason why. It didn?t seem that different from anyone else?s place, it was just easy to take a seat and chat for hours without even noticing that time was passing by. The meeting went how he expected it would, with them all agreeing that holding off and making sure to fully coordinate before moving against the vampires again, was the best course of action. There was only one question he had remaining, and that was to wonder why he had never heard of familiars being able to train before. Not that it mattered; it was a passing curiosity and nothing more. After all, the more he thought about it, the more it made sense. If one had the ability to train, it shouldn?t matter if they were a Shinigami or a familiar. I wonder if there are others like Karl who can train. The sound of his cell indicating he had a message caught his attention. At the same time, Adrian's did the same thing. Alex wasn?t surprised to get a message from Nathan but the content? Meet me in St. Louie, baby, meet me at the fair. ?What the hell is that supposed to mean?? Adrian exclaimed. He looked over at Alex, ?Did you get the same thing I did?? He showed him the screen. ?Yeah.? Alex reached up and scratched the back of his neck. ?Hunh? I?m not sure.? ?What is it?? Phaidra asked. ?Nathan sent us a message, but it doesn?t make any sense.? Adrian told them the message. ?I?m assuming it has something to do with training, but that doesn?t give a time or a location.? Phaidra shrugged. ?I have no idea what it means either. What about you Lucia?? Lucia snorted. ?Since when does Nathan ever make sense?? She stood up. ?I need to get going, I?ll let you know if I find anything.? Alex nodded. ?Thanks.? He stood up once she, along with Karl and Ruby had left. He closed his cell and put it back in his pocket. ?I wonder if he means the fairgrounds in the city.? ?Then why not say so from the very beginning?? ?I don?t know. Why don?t we go and take a look? If he?s not there we can always call him.? Alex grinned. ?It?s on our way anyway.? ?True.? Adrian agreed. ?Catch you later, Phaidra, Sarvel.? Alex said by way of farewell. ?So,? he started once they were clear of the building. ?I was wondering if you knew that familiars are capable of training.? Adrian laughed. ?Of course, Karl was one of my trainers when I went back.? ?One of them?? ?The other was Gavrie, since Karl is his familiar.? ?Oh, I see. Are there more who can do training?? ?I don?t know.? Adrian glanced over briefly, ?Why do you ask?? ?No reason, I was curious. I didn?t know it was possible.? ?Neither did I.? Adrian shrugged again. ?I do know that Gavrie and Karl were involved in the War with the Vampires. Just as I also know training back then was a hell of a lot better than it is today.? ?I would hope so.? ?I know so.? Adrian said firmly. ?I?ve seen Nathan and Gavrie spar before. I?ve learned a lot since then, but at the time, I could barely keep track of their movements, they are that skilled.? Now that would have been something to see. Someone as skilled as Nathan in a spar with him? Just thinking about it was enough to make him grin again. His phone buzzed and he opened it to see another message, this time it was from Isen. Alex laughed. ?Looks like I was right, we?re to meet him at the fairgrounds.? Adrian rolled his eyes. ?Please tell me that messages like that aren?t the norm.? Alex laughed again. ?No, they?re not.? ?Good.? A few minutes later they were at the deserted fairgrounds. They landed in the center and looked about for Nathan since his aura was nearby. But there was no sign of the blue Shinigami. ?What is he doing on the roof?? Astera exclaimed. Alex turned around and looked up. Sure enough, Nathan was standing on top of one of the closest buildings. What is he doing up there?

Anime What are You Watching/Reading Now?
Rachmaninoff replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
I recently started watching Ghost Hunt. I'm not a huge fan of the supernatural deal and I did like how it had a bit more science mixed in. However the further it gets in, the more it falls back on relying completely on supernatural stuff. Which is fine considering the type of show it is, but I find it less interesting than the first story arch where it was a bit of both. I definitely like the music for it. Especially the OP, it has a very Outer Limits feel to it, the lack of narration makes it stand out well. -
We could always consider Monster for it's own forum. Its not super well known but it does have a fairly decent fan base. Also, it's being dubbed and aired on SyFy starting October 12, so getting to finally see the dubbed version is bound to renew interest in the series. I know I plan on watching it.
Is Monster really underrated at all? I mean, it is not FMA/Naruto/DBZ levels of popular, true, but it has a fairly sized audience on the 'net, and the people who love it really love it. (It is the 14th ranked anime at MyAnimeList and with ANN's various weird ranking measures, it is ranked anywhere from 64th to 13th there.) Plus, it will be airing on SyFy soon. It has a pretty good fanbase, I'd say lol. (That said, I love the series, and everyone ever should see it.)
Probably not, other than in the sense that it doesn't have quite as huge of a fan base as a few others do. But with it being aired soon, that's likely to change. Hmmm, perhaps we should have a Monster forum to go along with it finally being aired on SyFy. {I still think that name change looks dumb. lol}
How dare they try to prohibit people having sex in front of their roommates, what kind of sexually repressed world are we living in ? What's next the roommate won't be allowed record the act and sell copies of it for booze money ? God damn it this is a line and they've crossed it.
Oh right, I forgot that such a restriction would interfere with your acquisition of booze... my bad. *shot* Seriously though... the fact that they even needed to impose such a restriction, just speaks volumes about people who see nothing wrong with that kind of conduct. XP

Homeless sex offenders directed to woods
Rachmaninoff replied to Rachmaninoff's topic in General Discussion
I dunno, guys, I kinda prefer to be glib about stuff I can't actually vote on yet. Haven't heard much about anything of this sort in my state, yet, so.
I don't think there is anything to be voted on. More like pointing out that the current system for dealing with people like that is failing. And it doesn't even go into how many people aren't dangerous sex offenders. But yeah, most threads here don't do much more than let people comment on what they think of the current situation. -
