1.
Oh and I'm sure I'm not the only one who found it ironic how the teacher had them fill out
their despairs instead of hopes.

Even better was at the end when the other teacher was thinking his students had such great
hopes since he didn't realize that Itoskiki had them list their despairs. It was ironic how he was concerned over Fuura Kafuka since her answers were so ridiculous because she actually wrote things that she couldn't hope for. lol
In addition to the wonderful contrast between Itoshiki Nozomu and Fuura Kafuka, the rest of the show had some other whacked out characters. Like the girl bothered by Fuura's socks. I also found the poor councilor who was worried that
Itoshiki Nozomu would show up more than once with his ultra despair.
Kind of funny, I mean seriously, how he got so upset over that cap was hilarious. Anyway, now I just need to find a fan sub of the second episode. After all I want to see who is
under that bed after all!
2. Well as expected DB my preferred method of communication is face to face. For the simple reason that you get the most out of it. From facial expressions to body language, to tone of voice, its the best way to really communicate. Or rather I think it's the best. Talking on the phone, IM or getting messages just isn't the same. I don't mind the phone so long as it's a friend, but otherwise, just about any place you call these days have elaborate systems of, for this press this, which leads to, for this press this and so on. So unless it's a friend or family I never use the phone for anything. It's too annoying. IM is okay I guess. But most of my friends don't really use it. I would imagine it works best for talking with friends who live in other countries. So in that respect it's probably fantastic. Being able to communicate with say someone in Australia. I certainly couldn't afford to otherwise. Though at the moment I have no one that I IM with who lives out of the US. Text messages? It depends on the person I guess. I find it a bit tedious so I rarely use it. Posting and using pm's and e-mail are great though. Posting since it's pretty accessible and easy for putting your thoughts down, pm's and e-mails since they're nice and quick for getting information to someone in a hurry. But in the end, I'll take face to face over all the other methods. Well except for perhaps posting. I kind of like doing things that way for conversations when there are a lot of people. It makes it easier for everyone to get a say instead of having the conversation dominated by a select few, which is often what happens in a large group. Especially when you have a couple of people who are very firm in their opinions.
  3.
If you could wait until then, then okay. But Rach's banner set is amazing aswell. ^_^
Feh, it's nice of you to say that, but I know perfectly well that most of you guys pwn me when it comes to graphics. About the only thing I did was brighten up the colors that were dull, give the pictures a glow as well as a simple border. Though I did hunt down the font for it. Finding one that looked similar to the symbology seemed perfect to me. Heh.
  4.
How do you find the move where Fayt gets
wings?
I tried looking for it, but I never really found it.
Well I haven't gotten there yet since I only just finally beat this game, but the item
Huge Folio
that you use to grant Fayt the
Ethereal Blast
move which results in him having
wings
is located in the bonus dungeon the
sealed sphere levels. According to the guide it's on floor 114.
I've only just started the first bonus dungeon so I've yet to unlock that area of the game. Which is a shame since according to the guide that's his strongest skill.
  5. Well here's a set based on each picture, also, I realize that you were looking for a silver and blue background, but to tell the truth doing extractions is not my thing. That and I'm wondering if that was for the previous pictures and not the replacements since I never saw the original pictures you posted. Anyway... Here's the two sets I made. Oh and this last one I made just for fun, a banner for the actual thread once it goes up, though if you like the other picture better I can make one of it too:
  6. Aaryanna, if there's one thing I've noticed about this RPG, it's that GuyYouMetOnline and indifference are the ones who know what the hell is going on. Well besides SunfallE since she's the creator of the RPG. Anyway... It seems that you, me and your mom are the clueless ones. XP LOL! When Aaryanna_Mom and I suggested that we have Kerstin figure out who Daniel was SunfallE was sure, go right ahead. Now I'm thinking that she was probably laughing secretly at how that just played right into what she had in mind. Oh the fun of being predictable! Heh. At this point Daniel's and Williams best bet is to be completely transfered over to the other ship and into their new persona's before Kiva and Daego return. Though so far, that hasn't stopped Kiva from finding things out in the end. So the real fun is going to be to see just how that plays out.
  7. Wow, you weren't kidding about Sandy continuing to be eeevil in the dream. lol And dammit! I really want to know just what we were wanted for! Anyway... hehe, seems that Shy got nailed for doing the same thing I did, trying to help someone. That's just too funny. Especially since I can imagine him doing just that! Good stuff. :catgirl: I look forward to seeing just who makes it out on top.
  8. 1 - Is it really closed? And BKstyles is no longer lost. BKstyles Try to avoid wandering off next time. Oh and... You're welcome BKstyles! :p
  9.
Wow, a lot of you people must really think little of your fathers. Seriously, when you've gone and hugged your mom, go and hug your dad if he's been there for you your entire life, because apparently by the sentiment here, he didn't have to be.
Others have already addressed this but how in the world did you get the idea that I was implying they wouldn't be a good father? I thought we were talking about the right to have an abortion, not to be a parent. In that moment, regardless of anything else, having the guy around who got her pregnant in the first place is a non-issue in that her body is the one that will result in a baby should she decide to keep it. Aaryanna_Mom put it best, even if I was married or with a girl I got pregnant, which by the way I have never done. If she does not want a baby and really feels that way, there's no way in hell I would try to force her to. If I ever do get married and have kids I want it to be something we both decide on, not a battle. In the end, if they are in a healthy relationship they'll work it out together. And for those relationships that aren't why complicate them by making it even harder for a woman who does not want kids at that time? Sure there are guys out there who will make great fathers, but at the same time, one would think they would realize that forcing that on someone isn't the best way to go about it.

??? ???-N/A
Bah! Where's the fun in that? 11.
Full scale war would be fun to do in my opinion. And it would make for a great sequel since freeing the lesser races at this point would just feel unnatural.
That was my reasoning as well. I want to get to the point where they end up free, etc. But with how the story has progressed that just wouldn't fit. And this hasn't been a true war story either. It's been a struggle with the Resistance and change within a corrupt government sort of deal. Besides, doing a full scale Civil War would be a lot of fun in a sequel. Heh.
The shockers just aren't big enough for them to really consider such an option. It's going to be hard enough to get Versilans to even accept the change in regards to separating families. Since for the most part the average Versilan doesn't give those of the lesser race a second thought.
True, it's how my characters tend to think, since that is the premise of what they believe. Even the knowledge of the illegal modifications is more of anger towards the government instead of a desire to run and free the others. Heh. Though I suppose given time that would change.
Anyway... regardless of how that goes, it's still going to be fun to finish wrapping things up. After all we still have some fun objectives to deal with. Though just who that is fun for depends on the character. Heh.
Feh! Naturally Jared's always going to be having fun when there's an interrogation involved. Though I loved how he was tormenting Blaine with the knowledge that he was no better. I rather liked it that he was in it again, especially after Aaryanna_Mom and I went to such lengths to turn him into a mean little shit. lol
  12.
My bad person who uses same color and font of 2k7 Digital Boy.. and talks like him. I hope he hasn't cloned himself or something. O_O
Gods, now there's a scary thought. Clones of 2007DigitalBoy running around. >_< Seriously though, he hasn't even been online for a couple of days at least. As for the topic... I'm in agreement with the sentiment that in the end a guy has no say in the matter. I mean seriously, other than to get her pregnant at that point it's 100% out of your influence. You could cease to exist and it would make no difference. She's the one in the position of facing all the issues surrounding being pregnant so that definately gives her the final say. I mean when it comes down to the total process of a baby being made, a guys contribution, though important is less than 1% of the total process. Sure it's his sperm that fertilized the egg, blah, blah, blah. But it's 100% her body that's making that process come to completion.
  13. Something was wrong. Darren could tell, it was more of a feeling than a statement of fact. It was not due to the executions or how the change in regards to how family of Resistance members were treated. He had spoken to Sandra several times since she had been cleared for duty, and though there was a tiny bit of uneasiness, most of the crew was fine with her being back in command of the Creator. Now that it was in the open, it was becoming apparent that a lot of people disagreed with the policy of shared guilt, but had been to wary of actually protesting. Darren had gone over the shipping earlier that morning and had found nothing amiss, there were problems, but nothing that was unexpected or too extreme. If anything it was more like a heavy cloud over the remaining Council members who refused to cooperate, even with the threat of being interrogated. And like those who were covering the investigation and broadcasting it to the entire Versilan Empire, he too agreed with the sentiment that they were hiding more than the illegal modifications. Twenty eight members had been cleared already and on some level were even starting to take part in the minor day to day functions of the government. But until the remaining twenty were cleared, full control could not be returned to the High Council and Martial Law could not be lifted. What is so important that they won't cooperate? It made no sense, the evidence indicated that at most only three people knew of the modifications and did nothing to put an end to it. So why were twenty members refusing to cooperate when it was likely only two were guilty? He sighed and turned off the terminal in his quarters at the sound of a chime indicating someone was at his door. He got up and went to let Kerstin in, ever since her ordeal she had been struggling with the emotional trauma associated with all that had happened. And though Darren had insisted on having her come over for dinner every evening since she had been rescued to talk about what she was up to, it was clear that she was having a hard time getting over it. In a way, he understood, it had taken him a while to get over being locked up in that tiny room. Though for him it had been easier, once he had been taken to the Resistance's base on Earth, he had not been mistreated like Kerstin had by Blaine, nor had he witnessed someone being tortured repeatedly. The doctor on the Creator warned him that she would struggle with that for a while. And truthfully it worried him. Kerstin had seemed to be making progress until just about a week ago. She had gone down to Reflection to talk to Daniel, but instead of telling him what had happened she had suddenly gone completely quiet. Something that baffled Darren since she had been so vocal in her concern over what happened to him. And even more puzzling was her avoidance of Jared. Not that they were overly friendly or anything, but before she had no trouble chatting with him or giving him an earful if she thought his security measures were unnecessary. But now? Anytime they ran into Jared, Kerstin within minutes had an excuse to be elsewhere. Darren turned his attention back to Kerstin who had poked him in the side. "Some host you are." She teased. "You insist on my joining you for dinner and then to rudely tune your own sister out when she arrives?" He couldn't help but laugh, it was the first time he had seen a bit of her old humor since the deal with Blaine. "What can I say? I'm a boorish excuse for an older brother." Kerstin looked away as they took a seat at the small table, having gotten their dinner. "I wouldn't say that," She looked back at him and smiled. "If anything, I'm the one who's been moody lately." "That's alright. I understand." Darren said. And though the rest of the conversation was fairly straightforward and to the point, even though Kerstin seemed to be in better spirits, he still couldn't help but feel like she was still hiding something that was bothering her. Had something else happened when she had been a prisoner? Something that she had not told Jared? Darren finally shoved the thoughts aside, if what the doctor said was true, she'd tell him when she was ready.
  14.
Oh my! I just finished episode five! Oh that was just priceless when Otani found out that his new
girlfriend who kissed him is a guy!
I never expected Seiko to be
a guy! I mean... he looks too much like a girl! lol
That was by far the funniest episode yet with the way Otani was getting teased over what happened. :catgirl: As well as poor Risa's reaction to realizing that she had
grown another 2 centimeters. Oh the tragedy of realizing she was taller! lol

You have no idea how much I cringed when I realized that Seiko
was a guy.
o_O I mean Seiko does not look like
a guy
at all! Even the voice doesn't match. And the first thought going through my mind when that was revealed was wtf? And this after I was admiring the music for the scene where Otani got
kissed.
I just loved the music for that moment in the series. Now I'll never be able to think about it in the same way again. XP Though speaking of music, the opening song to this is starting to grow on me. lol I wouldn't mind having a copy of it to add to my play list on my computer. Heh. Oh and I agree, Risa's reaction to realizing she was
taller
was too funny. As well as all the snickering going on over Otani being
kissed by a guy. lol
15.
I suppose you have a point, but if you look at it from the stand point of a biased parent, the instant they saw something like Elfen Lied, they would judge all anime by it.
Well that is the point of this thread, parents who don't look beyond a single show. Though I do find it ironic since some anime fans are equally as judgmental towards cartoons that don't come from Japan and yet I've found things like Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck and Samurai Jack to be well done and excellent shows regardless of the fact that they didn't come from Japan.
But for parents to put their foot down on anime, but allow them to go see violent war movies, as well other things that are not 'cartoons'.
You won't get any argument from me on that, some parents are stupid. It's unfortunate but true. I remember seeing 'Saving Private Ryan' in the theaters and it has some very intense bloody moments and yet parents were in there with their toddles and preteen kids. And that show was Rated R for intense prolonged realistically graphic sequences of war violence, and for language. Definitely not for kids.
  16.
however, regardless of if they do or not, that doesn't change the fact that the parent would take measures to restrict their kids from the subculture of anime that they enjoy. It isn't the kids that take from the parents, its the parents that take from the kids. If they understood it, then they might not be so eager to 'take'.
Well obviously. lol It is a parents job to moderate what their kids watch. Not the other way around. And even if the parent does go to the trouble to understand, there's always going to be something that they take away. It's not so much an eagerness but a parental desire to do what's best for their kids. Though kids usually don't see it that way. They tend to think their parents are just being jerks. lol Honestly, if a parent let their kid watch any anime that they wanted without a thought, I'd be questioning whether or not they were good parents. I know I wouldn't want some thirteen year old watching something like Elfen Lied.
  17.
Music makes people crazy passionate sometimes. Especially string players, lol. Do you play for an orchestra?
Yes, the Utah Philharmonia. Before that I was in the University of Utah Symphony Orchestra.
I have a similar outrageous purchase. $3,000 for a cello, which was a fine price for the quality instrument I got, but I quit orchestra a year later and joined newspaper. >_0.
No danger there, of my quitting and joining something else that is. lol I just finished my second Master's Performance recently for getting my masters degree and I'm finishing up the paperwork to get accepted into a doctorate program either at the current University I'm attending or another one about a hour south of where I live. Though by finishing up I mean everything is in order and sent, I'm just waiting on the acceptance or denial letter. Though I'd be surprised to get denied since I've spoken to the faculty of both schools and both were encouraging about my application. Once I get accepted... I'll be forking out that $10,000+ on my next instrument. :catgirl:

  20. ?Attention everyone please, we are about to launch the Argo Navis, no need to find a seat. Take off will be virtually seamless due to the Argo?s inertial dampeners.? Kendra announced. At the start of the announcement Michael looked up from his position in his quarters, a couple of items still in his hands as he had been putting things away in the small locker built into the wall alongside the beds. Before Kendra was even finished he placed the last item in and closed the door, the latch catching in place. And though she claimed otherwise he still expected something, after all once he had gotten this assignment he had traveled from the Cerulean home world where he had been working to Narisyan. And most civilian transports though well built often did experience some level of noticeable disturbance during travel. But true to what Kendra had said, he couldn't tell that anything had changed, and when he walked back out to hunt for Dr. Henderson to discuss an idea he had about the language on the gate the first thing he noticed through one of the observation windows as he headed up towards the bridge was that they were indeed in space. "Damn." He said to himself. "That's impressive." "What is?" A voice spoke up from behind. Michael turned to see Dr. Henderson heading his way presumable going to the bridge like he was. "The launch of the Argo Navis, I was expecting the usual jitters if you know what I mean." Michael explained. Dr. Henderson smiled. "I would have been annoyed if we did experience them. I was assured that we would be given more than a simple civilian transport." "Ah, I see." Michael said, unsure what to say to that. He started to continue but Dr. Henderson beat him to it. "Come with me please, I'd like to use the communication's terminal on the bridge to start analyzing the language on the gate." Brianna paused just long enough to make sure Dr. Travis was following her. "I'd like to take the translation that the Creids government has and compare it with current translations of all known ancient languages. I've already gone over what they have and to be frank I'm positive that it's completely inaccurate." Michael followed along, stopping briefly when they got to the bridge and Dr. Henderson simply nodded to Bishop, Kendra and Teresa who were already on the bridge. "How do you come to that conclusion Dr. Henderson?" He asked as she took a seat at the communications terminal just to the right of the main doors. "Brianna will do," she said firmly as he took the seat next to her, pausing only to plug her CCB into the terminal and download the information. The screen coming to life displaying the information. Brianna reached up, taking a moment to separate the information into different sections before continuing. "It's simple, if you look here and here," she pointed to a number of key phrases. "You'll see that there are inconsistencies as to what the root meaning would be." Michael pulled it up on the screen in front of his spot, "Ah! You're right." He paused and turned to her. "Oh and by the way, just call me Mike." Brianna smiled a bit. "Fair enough. Now as you can see both this language," she indicated an ancient one from the Creids nation. "And the one on the gate have similarities right? But if that were true." She launched into a detailed explanation as to why what they had translated the language to mean was wrong. Mike waited patiently and then shook his head when she finished. "That's an interesting theory, but what if there are no similarities at all? What if this language is completely alien to that region of space? If that were the case then you get a completely different possibility as to what those symbols would mean." Both of them continued discussing the different languages, completely tuning out the others who were there. And if only for a moment Mike completely forgot about the dangers involved with the actual gates. He was too caught up with the thrill of figuring out just what the language on the gate meant. He couldn't wait to actually see it in person!
  21.
I think at first the happiest one will be Jared. lol.
Understatement of the year. >_< Oh good grief! 22.
That just seals it right there, the moment this type of nonsense has even the police looking at it form the standpoint of it making good tv, is the moment that officer loses his objectivity and shouldn't be assigned to that task anymore. Because he'll be biased towards cases that are more 'sensational' and that's not a good thing. It should be about catching them whether it's good tv or not.

I think perhaps as much as we would be inclined to, we cannot judge every officer involved in this distasteful show based on the reaction of one. Granted he should lose his badge for so cold a comment but that is another matter.
I feel like I'm missing something here, but I got the impression that Crystia was saying that if the show is influencing the officers working with the station, then they shouldn't be working on those cases. Not that all police would behave that way or that every officer is guilty of this. Only that paticular one. And I have to agree, they need to be careful about not allowing what's going to 'make good tv' interfere with their judgment. Which only goes back to the point that this type of sting to catch a predator needs to be done without the cameras and such.
  23.
Well besides being a 31 year old woman who is obsessed with anime, goes to conventions in cosplay and loves video games?
Personally I think that's pretty cool. Especially the cosplay bit. However, since I'll be going to my first anime convention next month [I'm not brave enough to cosplay though] my roommates and friends are already twitting me about it. Since they've been trying to get me to go to rock concerts. XP So the whole thing is a 'You'll got to something related to anime but not music?' Feh! 25.
Food for thought: We get year-old America's Most Wanted re-runs here, and about 2 months ago, two "catch-a-predator" type episodes aired. I thoguht it was odd that, while NBC Dateline gets scorned for being ratings-hungry pariahs, America's Most Wanted does a very similar show, and it doesn't even rate a mention )in either thread).
Oh I don't know, usually the people portrayed on America's Most Wanted have already been tried and convicted instead of like the people on 'catch-a-predator' who have yet to be convicted of anything. The first one is going after someone who already is guilty where the second is attempting to catch them in the act, a position that is open to mistakes, especially when most of those people on the show are not genuine law enforcement. But America's most wanted?
