1.
Well I'm equally as nosy since I'm supremely curious as to what Erica is referring to. And for the life of me, other than the third project in sector fourteen that we never learned what it was, I can't think of anything else that it would be.
I've been wondering about that too. Since we never did learn what was on the third project. So for that to be part of what Erica is referring to would make sense. However, I'm terrible at figuring these things out so I'm sure I'm wrong too. lol Regardless, I'll be looking for that pm with my new objectives. I have some ideas on that so I'll shoot them off to you in a pm SunfallE.
 2. Hell! This sucks. I wanted to be voted off dammit! XP Figures. Oh and Sandy... [I'm just living up to my whiney reputation so just ignore me okay?] Oh and SunfallE, no worries. I've had my shots so getting bitten won't be a problem. lol I'm sure it would hurt though. Now... Post the next challenge Sandy! SunfallE ordered us to kick some butt! :p
 3. I think it's obvious that for many of us the word Otaku has a different meaning. After all until I found this place I had never even heard of it. I've since learned what it means but again, that doesn't really apply here. lol Seriously the only thing I think of when I hear the word Otaku is theOtaku.com myOtaku.com and OtakuBoards, all three simply being a site for anime fans and a whole lot more. So yeah, some of us do think of ourselves as Otaku, but not in the same sense as they do in Japan. For me it's simply that I'm a member of this site not that I'm obsessed with it. Words definately do get a different meaning when they show up in other cultures. Or rather they are understood differently. :catgirl:
 4. Well some of my purchases could be considered outrageous since spending over $10,000 for an instrument is expensive. But since playing the cello is what I do, it doesn't seem that way to me. Every time I've needed a new one it's always ended up being more. lol Though hopefully my next purchase will be my last one for quite a while. Especially since one of these days I want to get a car. Heh.
 5.
ten to one says that Rachmaninoff gets caught first. :p Oh and it's a given... Aaryanna needs to kick BKstyles in the shins.
Thanks a lot traitor. Feh! I do agree about Aaryanna though, she needs to clobber BKstyles and the Aces. Especially after they evicted SunfallE from Survivor for real. I really thought it was going to be me. Not her. >_< Also, dammit woman! You left us right at a cliff hanger. In the middle of a mall with all those people no less. That would totally suck. Heh. And now I'm curious to see where it goes from here. And another thing... everyone knows that you're the cruel overseer who kicks people's butts off the boards Crystia. :p So for you to show up in that respect in Beth's dream makes perfect sense to me. lol
 6.
You're not the only one who's speculating here Rach. Hehe. ^_^ Though my attempts to pry stuff out of SunfallE have so far been unsuccessful. Bah!
Feh! She won't tell me either. I tried prying it out of her last night on MSN and all she did was laugh at me. ;_ ; *pokes SunfallE* Still I'm betting that another Council member will be found guilty, after all Sandra's father was guilty of murder not of hiding the modifications. So I'm betting that at least one other Council member is guilty. As for what A_M is going to do with William and Daniel. Beats me. She already knows that for now Kerstin intends to say nothing. Though William and Daniel don't know that. lol Nor do they know that she has no intention of contacting them again. At least that's what she thinks at the moment. I'm sure SunfallE might toss that out the window with the next objective. Heh. Also... totally off topic... You need to add a Fuzzers update to your sig Aaryanna. :p
 7. Gah! Why didn't someone warn me that BKstyles bites! *dies* Besides, seems like White needs to be poked not BKstyles. XP *pokes White and then gets smacked by Sandy for spamming the thread*
 8. Well DB, I've never been to the Atlantic ocean but rather the Pacific. :p And the spots I've been to were in Oregon. You'll probably recognize one of them Beth since you mentioned Seaside. I've been there a few times since I have some relatives who live in the area. Not right by the shore but close enough and I love the beach there. I don't get to go anywhere near as often as I'd like. I tend to avoid the beach near the main hotels in that town since going either up the coast a bit or down gets you a lot more privacy and it's equally as beautiful. Not only are the small towns nice and fairly quiet, the food there is great and there's lots of nice places to get seafood and yet still have a good view of the ocean while you enjoy dinner. I could easily spend weeks and weeks hanging out in the area of Seaside Oregon.
 9.
You've got to be kidding Rach, you and I both know it has to be one of the funniest things you see in life, especially if the poor dope doesn't even realise the girl's a lesbian.
I'm talking about the one who really thinks he can get the girl to like him enough to have a deep relationship. Those guys who think they can 'cure' them of their lesbianism are painful to watch. Not the one who hasn't figured it out. lol
I can't really speak for other guys I guess, but I know that I am one of those who sees lesbians and imagines they will have sex with me. In my imagination, though, I am also a girl and a lesbian, so it's perfectly reasonable. That's just me, though... >_> yall can continue with your serious discussion now...
Well that explains a lot. XP I agree with Gavin, you are beyond weird. lol But strangely entertaining at the same time. No wonder your rps are always wacky as well. :p Though I suppose that's why those are fun too, even when you're not a part of it. Heh.
 10. Oh you could technically say we live near a beach Crystia. The Great Salt Lake State Park/Saltair Beach. But having been to the ocean it's just not the same. But I suppose it's better than nothing right? And for an inland salty lake, the largest in the western hemisphere to be exact, the sunsets over the lake can be breathtaking. And with beautiful turquoise waters and white sandy beaches, it is popular with swimmers and sunbathers. :p Still in the end I liked the other beaches better. lol
 11.
Speaking as a guy, I think it's the fact that there is something about the male brain which does not comprehend that lesbians are not interested in men, and that somehow those two chicks would be interested in having a male presence.
And also speaking as a guy, I've never seen the attraction to watching two chicks making out, because to be blunt. I want a chick who will make out with me. XP So even though I have no problem with it, people being gay/lesbian, etc. I've just don't get it when a guy tries to get a lesbian interested in him. It's like an oxymoron in action and painful to watch.
 12.
Thre are a few good choices I have in mind, but they are mods, and therefor out of the picture. While nominating a person who's done a lot in the past might be fine, I don't like the idea. If we're talking about someone who embodies the very heart of otakuboards, it can't be someone who is no longer a major part of it. The OB I live in is not only made up of it's past, but of it's here and now, and that's what's most important.
Yeah, a couple I would nominate are mods, so putting that aside and the fact that I agree with nominating more than just people who have been around for a while... I second the nomination for Aaryanna_Mom. And for pretty much the same reasons that indifference already mentioned. She's not as active as you DB, but when she is you can't help but take notice since she's thoughtful and tries her best to be none abrasive and yet still stick with what she truly thinks. I can't imagine OB without her, she's like the mother of the boards. And she shows it by making suggestions and being part of things like the new OB paper as well as commenting and rping. :catgirl:
 13.
As for the show itself? It's sensationalism garbage in my opinion. I have no problem with the police handling such stings to catch predators, but that sort of thing has no business being handled by people who really aren't trained. NBC is after viewers and ratings instead of any true form of justice.
Agreed, that show is pointless and unnecessary. It's not justice at all. And even if that guy was a predator and needed to be caught, it was pointless for them to do what they did. Attempting to publicly humiliate him. I doubt that type of thing would actually make a true sexual predator change. If he's innocent, then they deserve to get sued, if he's not. Well, he needed to be brought to justice. But instead it seems he killed himself. And I can't help but wonder why he would do that. I know if I was falsely accused of something like this I sure as hell wouldn't kill myself. I'd sue their butts for slander. Anyway, stupidity like this is why this type of show shouldn't even be allowed to air.
 14. The only thing I hate about the beach is that I don't live next to it. I've only been a few times, but it was great fun. Far more interesting than visiting a lake. It's great to catch it on days when there's at least semi decent waves to either wade in or simply watch. And if you've got a bunch of friends, nothing beats having a party together and just hanging out. Like I said, it's too bad I've only gotten to go a few times. I'd probably spend a lot more time at the beach if I lived close to it. Heh.
 15. Lets see, there's music obviously since that's my career. Not rock or metal mind you but stuff that people usually just call classical though it's far more than that. The other is hiking with friends and going camping. Seems like lately I don't get to do that enough. I suppose the hot weather and things being closed since they are considered a fire hazard for being so dry doesn't help. Hanging out with my friends and playing games and watching movies. We do that pretty much every week. And my new hobbies in the past year are watching anime and checking out manga. I honestly didn't think I'd like it as much as I do, especially since I've found fan subs and such. No commercials as well as being interesting makes for a great combination.
 16.
Umm... I must be blind, because the only changes I've seen are the new graphics. Am I missing something?
I'm talking about posting and all the options when you are writing one up, like the way you select a font, it shows you what each one will look like instead of just a name. Or the size of the font which has a nifty drop down menu that actually shows you the size. The colors have a little box of colors displayed like a pallete instead of a drop down menu, even the smilies are in a row of two instead of three. And the way you link text is slightly different. But it's most noticeable when I'm highlighting and tagging text when I'm writing up a rp post. Before, selecting something and highlighting it to add bold tags resulted in it putting you back and the very beginning of your post once you added the tags, so you had to scroll all the time to get back to where you were. Now it just stays put and highlighted so you can apply more than one thing at a time to the same section of text. It's just a whole lot easier and less of a pain. lol That and the silly automatic pop up asking if you want a receipt when you pm someone is gone. I certainly don't miss that at all. It was annoying. EDIT: Oh and as I'm doing right now, even the option to edit doesn't load the entire post, it pulls up a quicker menu that's easier to use for simple changes. :)
 17. Kerstin had intended to simply forget about what she had found out, but the more she thought about it, the more she couldn't get it out of her mind. Until finally, after contacting William and finding out that Daniel was at the beach at Reflection. She, along with her escort went to find him. It hadn't been hard, so many people were staying indoors, the beach was for all intents and purposes empty. And even then, when she finally saw him sitting on some rocks simply gazing at the sea she almost turned around and left. But in the end she was too angry, furious at the deception even though she understood why he had lied. After all he couldn't very well enter the sector under his real name. He would have been arrested on the spot. Daniel Landers was currently the most wanted individual in the entire empire. And the implication that those he was with were most likely not who they claimed to be was also upsetting. Kerstin just couldn't see how William would not realize that someone was impersonating his best friend. So in the end she wondered if he and the rest of those on the Tryst were also members of the Resistance. At the moment though as Daniel just stood their speechless after all she had said, the only thing she cared about was getting an answer, even if she still wasn't sure why she wanted one. I should have never come here. What good will it do me to know if I'm right? When it became apparent he was not going to speak Kerstin did. "Fine, forget about why you lied about who you are, after all, it's not like you could enter sector one if you told the security at the checkpoints the truth. They would have arrested you on the spot. But that still doesn't explain why you kept interfering with Blaine." Kerstin reached up with her right hand, tucking her hair behind her ear. "I already told Blaine and Jared, no gentleman would ever stand still and do nothing when a lady is being hurt." Daniel finally spoke up. "Regardless of what you think you know about who I am, I would do the same for anyone, it's my..." Daniel stopped, standing rigidly as if he was preparing to bolt. "Your duty?" Kerstin finished for him, noting how he flinched slightly. "After all before your father was exposed and your mother executed." Another statement that triggered a brief flash of pain in Daniel's eyes, of that Kerstin was positive. She shook her head and continued. "You were the Commander of the Tempest. Even if I don't know the specifics, I do know that it is the military's duty to protect civilians from harm." Suddenly tired, Kerstin found a rock and sat down, looking out to the sea instead of at Daniel. "Darren told me what happened you know. When he was on Earth and got caught up in those attacks." Kerstin sighed. "Not that it matters anymore, just as I don't give a damn that William is probably not who he claims either, or the rest of the crew on the Tryst." She looked back at Daniel who was still strangely quiet. "You're not going to say anything are you? I can tell. Even if it was only for a short time, I did learn that much from being around you." Kerstin got up, reached into her pocket and handed Daniel the sketch she had done. "I'm sorry," Daniel finally said. "I did not come here to upset you." Kerstin just smiled sadly, her anger burned out, "I know. I would imagine you came here to try and find a way to free Celestia." Kerstin ignored his pained expression and his attempts to hide it. "Anyway, I'll leave you alone. I honestly don't know what to think anymore. I don't know the full story and I doubt you're going to tell me either." With that Kerstin left, more confused than when she had first confronted him. Why? Why did I bother? Even if his reactions indicate he is Daniel Landers, what good will knowing that do? Kerstin sighed, hugging herself to ward of the slight chill of the ocean air. Unless I plan on telling Jared, a thought that pained her, there was no reason to even talk to him about it. A few minutes later she was almost back to where her escort was waiting, Kerstin smiled at him for waiting so patiently the whole time. "You ready to return to the Creator Miss Anderson?" He asked her once she was close enough. Kerstin just nodded, "Yes I am thank you." Then a moment later when her escort contacted the ship and a transport door was opened she stepped through and headed for her quarters, feeling even more confused than when she had first left to come down and confront Daniel.
 18. What can I say, it's been almost a month or has been a month and I'm still loving the upgrade/change. Every time I post or respond to stuff I'm again reminded of just how nice it is. So though it's long over due... *showers Des with praise*
 19.
Woot, new signature size's.^^
Heh, I agree. It is nice. That extra bit of height does make it easier to have what you want in there. So thanks for the increase James and Des as well as everyone else who was in favor of the change. :catgirl:
 20. Heh, didn't we have this discussion not to long ago? Well I'm too lazy to hunt up my previous response but it hasn't changed all that much. Sure I think doing illegal drugs is pretty stupid, but at the same time it's not the end of the world. Maybe for those who get into the more dangerous stuff, but there's plenty of drug use out there that though not very bright, it doesn't really affect others in a bad way. I'd be willing to bet that drunk driving, kills more than some of the milder drugs like pot do. And alcohol is legal. XP So as much as I'd love to go on a rant of how stupid doing illegal drugs is, I'd rather tackle something that has a proven track record of killing people, especially since many of those victims were not the one drinking. But still, for the most part I think it's better to steer clear of illegal drugs, if only for your own health and well being. That and I've yet to see one of my friends who does pot occasionally have some miraculous improvement in their life. All they do is sound like a complete idiot when they are high. Though that in it's own way can be entertaining. My absolute most favorite random conversation that occurred from an instance of this was when one guy couldn't seem to get off the tangent on how we should add plant fertilizer to our water to make us smarter. It was one of the dumbest and yet funniest conversations I've ever heard. lol
 21.
You shave down there because it gets sweaty? ... Gosh, i guess i'm just lucky i don't have sweaty balls. I didn't know anybody's did... How strange.
That's what I was wondering. It's certainly never occurred to me to shave in that area of all places. That just seems too strange to me. I suppose if you really think you need it shaving there is a good idea, even if I don't see it. Anyway... definately stick to scissors. Oh and I'd get ones that the tips aren't pointy. Just one slip and you'd be in a world of hurt.
 22. Well I don't plan on it. I don't have anything that I really want to change that much. And at the same time I don't see anything wrong with it. Sure there are people who only do it to look younger, have bigger/smaller assets and such, but as others have said there are plenty of people who having the option to have cosmetic surgery is a good thing. Also realistically, the more the science develops, the better it will be for those people who truly do need it. If it was only done for things that were necessary, like fixing a crocked jaw, or fixing horribly scarred skin due to say a burn, I think it might not progress as quickly as it has. So in the end, the demand for this type of surgery is inadvertently making it better for those who really do need it. I mean, I did have minor surgery along those lines to make the scar from when my leg was injured last year look less noticeable. And though it wouldn't have bothered me to still have that scar, I do admit that when I'm wearing shorts it is nice that no one can tell anymore.
 23.
But it's definately time to launch the Argo Navis and get this show on the road. ;)
Agreed. I'm very curious to find out just why people are disappearing, especially since those who are vanishing are not even using the gates. That's got me wondering just what in the world is going on. lol Oh and if someone wants to put their character in the same room as mine feel free. Anyway... Time for some fun! :catgirl:
 24. Well I know that beyond the current events finishing up I'm running all sorts of theories through my mind. lol From civil war breaking out to the more calm one of things simply settling back down. At least for the Versilans that is, right now I don't see any indication that the government will free any of the enslaved races. Sure they are cleaning house for themselves, but for people like Celestia and Jason? Feh! All those fools are doing is using them to further their own ends like always. And there is still hints about something else that Erica arranged that has yet to come to light. I'm gonna save my speculation on that one since I don't want to spoil it if I'm right. XP About the only thing I am certain of is if this goes to civil war we'll either wrap it up at that point, you know leaving the Civil War to the sequel. Or all hell will break loose for everyone in so many ways. LOL! Hehe, whatever happens, whether we final come to the end of this part of the story or we go on... Damn if this hasn't been fun. :catgirl: And now I'm gonna keep speculating as to just what you have in mind SunfallE. Hehe.
 25. Michael wasn't sure what to think of everyone else. Even though he had worked for the government as a translator, he had never dealt with the military and to be honest, other than Captain Schovick who was anything but reserved the others came across as being more standoffish. Even the thought of talking to Dr. Henderson was intimidating. He was good at current languages as well as studying ancient ones, but she was far more knowledgeable about some of the older written ones than he was. Finally it was too uncomfortable for him and with a short nod to Dr. Henderson he had taken his bags to find a room, snagging one that was still empty, for now. There was more than one bed in the room and as he set his things down on one, the thought occurred to him that him might end up with a roommate for this assignment. That would certainly seem odd, he hadn't shared a room with anyone in quite some time. Well other than a girlfriend or two. He was heading back to the bridge when the announcement to meet in the conference room came over the speakers and instead he made his way there, politely saying hello to those who sat next to him and then giving first Colonel DeSouza his attention as he explained a bit and then Dr. Henderson as she first passed out CCB's and then went over the data on them. It was both fascinating and a bit startling. People have been vanishing? Michael gripped the edge of the CCB, staring at the picture of the gate as if doing somehow would give him insight to what was going on. Of all things, he could have never imagined an assignment like this and as he looked at the inscription on the metal he was already trying to analyze just what it would actually mean. It wasn't often that he came across a completely unknown language. I bet my assignment will be to work on that. A thought that was confirmed when Dr. Henderson went on to say: "I'd like you Dr Travis to work on the translation of the language inscribed on the gate." A statement that had him looking back up at her to nod and then follow along as she wrapped things up. I really need to talk to her about this, to see if there are any similarities to ancient languages that she is familiar with. Something that as the meeting came to a close, he planned on doing.
