Walking back from her visit with Raj, Cho stopped for a moment to look up at the sky. It was a clear day, and only a few clouds dotted the sky. "I love days like this... I hope every day is like.... What the!!" All of a sudden, barely three feet in front of her, a folded piece of paper in one hand and a clipboard in the other, was Joe. "Hi. I'm J.." "Joe Deadrien. I know. And I'm Cho. But you already knew that, didn't you? What do you want?" "This is a map of Esper Hall, so you can find your way around while you're here." Joe said, handing her the paper he'd been holding. "Now, since you don't have any questions, I'll just be on my way...." "Hey! Next time, don't just appear without warning like that! I almost had a heart attack!" Without any sign that he'd heard her, Joe vanished. ************* By the time Cho slipped back into the Cafeteria, it was bustling with life and full of the smell of bacon and maple syrup. "I knew I should have come in the front!" she muttered. "I can't stand Cafeterias!" she cast her gaze around the room, her eyes finally settling on a lonely-looking basket of croissants perched on the edge of a table holding a toaster oven, some butter and jam, and not much else. I guess those look edible at least... She walked over to the table and grabbed a couple of the croissants, filled one liberally with strawberry preserves, and walked out of the cafeteria, eating as she walked. As she walked by the bulletin board, a class caught her eye: "Introduction to Telepathy - M-F at 2:00 in the Informal Garden (The Rose Garden)" Introduction to telepathy, huh? I guess what I can do is telepathy... Sounds interesting. She scribbled her name at the bottom of the list, noticing that there were a lot of people already signed up. Well that's good.. that way I won't draw too much attention to myself. I still have a couple of hours until then too.. maybe I'll go check out this "informal garden" place before it's overrun with people. Walking towards the door, Cho pulled the map Joe had given her earlier that morning from her pocket and shook it open. That idiot... Cho thought He almost gave me a heart attack showing up out of nowhere like that! I hope the other people here have better manners than he does... though I bet if I could do that I'd probably try to freak people out... "Anyway.. the garden." Cho murmured to herself. "What kind of place is this anyway, with an informal garden? Does that mean there's a formal one too?" Looking down at her map, Cho started in the direction it indicated. I hope this thing isn't very far away.. I'm getting tired of all this walking around.

She had been watching them for some time now; had seen some of their most trusted allies betray them. She had made her decision. Their cause was just, and their motives pure; she would be proud to join them. She walked into the terrorist's base, flip-flops slapping against the floor; dress billowing about her ankles; eyes scanning the room. Not there, not there, not... ah, there! Keeping her eyes on the alcove where The Beast stood watching from the shadows, she walked up to Charlie. "I hear you have a job opening..."
But it sure makes itself a 3rd world country in its valuations of its people and how its entire system functions.
uh.. have you ever lived in a third world country? Obviously not, because if you had you wouldn't say that... anyway, about college, I did the whole planning ahead, super-research, decide everything before-i-graduate thing... and then last summer i saw an ad for a college i'd never heard of before but sounded perfect... so I applied there, took last year off, and am about to start this september (with no major). So.. so much for planning... I say that to say this: planning is good, but in the end you're the one that is going to spend four years of your life, as well as tens of thousands of dollars, in college. Do something that you WANT to do, don't worry so much about where your degree will lead you.. so many people go to college, get a degree, and then proceed to get a job that has absolutely (more or less) nothing to do with what they learned in school anyway... just my two copper

No, Mom! Don't go! If you do, then you'll... Cho awoke with a start, her eyes wildly searching the room around her for a few moments before she remembered where she was. "Right... I'm actually here..." She looked out the open window beside her bed into the pre-dawn sky and sighed. Raj? You there? A few moments passed, then a slightly arrogant voice replied Of course.. can't you see me? Really... you humans have such horrible eyesight. What do you want? Actually I can see you... I think. It's not my fault you're only a bloody speck from down here! Cho replied with a grin, looking up at a wee dot circling in the sky above. I just wanted to ask you not to come down here unless I call you, ok? There's no telling what these people here are like, and I don't want anything to happen to you. I suppose you're right.. Thankfully, the fields around here are full of mice, so I won't have to go very far away.. Oh, well, about that... You should stay a mile or two away from here too... You don't exactly blend in with the local wildlife you know. Cho said apologetically. It's pretty warm here, so you should be okay staying outside. I'll come find you in an hour or so, ok? ...fine then. Be careful, though; I don't want anything to happen to you either. With that, Cho sat up and looked around her new room. She had been so tired the night before that she'd just thrown her one bag, an old backpack, down on the floor at the foot of the bed, collapsed on the bed and gone to sleep without even turning on the light. The early morning light showed a bare room, to her left, a nightstand with a lamp on it, and a desk and chair against the same wall as the door. Past the foot of the bed was a small dresser, and a wall with two more doors in it, presumably leading to the bathroom and the closet. Her perusal of her room complete, Cho hopped out of bed and headed for the door she thought led to the bathroom, and hopefully, a hot shower. ************* An hour later, Cho, dressed in her usual outfit of a tank top; dark, skin-tight jeans; and a red leather jacket, slipped out of her room. She went downstairs and headed down the hallway in the direction of the kitchen she thought she'd seen on her way in, hoping to grab a quick meal before she went out. It was indeed the kitchen that Cho had seen the previous night, and there was no one inside, so she went inside, made herself a sandwich, and, seeing a door leading outside, decided to leave that way, instead of by the main entrance, hoping that no one would notice her go. OOC: Do you still call it a voice when you're speaking telepathically?? Also, Cho never wears shoes unless she has to, and then only flip-flops...

uh.. white... you do realise that that verse has absolutely nothing to do with a church, right? and besides, the church is the people, not the building... anyway.. it seems to me that the church is overreacting a bit... it's not like the game's about destroying the church or something...
Wait, this is for real? I thought Ctrl-Alt-Del was making it up.[/url']
i did too... if only..

What do your Avatar, Signature and title say to other people?
Jiazu replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Jiazu, your signature tells me that I don't know Japanese. Which I guess fits into the whole Otaku thing. Equivalent exhange? FMA, baby. (that reminds me, someone I know got the FMA symbol tattooed to his back. >>)
ah yes.. well ,for anyone who cares to know, the green one is a quote from .hack//The Legend of the Twilight.. a pun involving panda-shaped bread.. and the blue one says that Sasuke's the prince of emo... -
Who here has a journal? (No not a blog of sorts.)
Jiazu replied to Domon's topic in General Discussion
the only things I ever want to write down are things that I'd never EVER want anyone else to read. EVER. So I don't keep one. I did sporadically for a while, since I needed something to rant about my bi*** of a dorm mom in... it pretty much consists of cussing out various people, mostly her... very literary.... but i think I wanted her to find it and read it so I could be more pissed at her for going through my stuff... I had a blog for awhile too.. basically served the same purpose.. i really should delete that thing... -
Bloodsport (Jean-Claude Van Damme) - 1988 Hehe I love this movie :) Kumite! Kumite! :) uh yeah.. The first time I saw this I was probably seven and I thought it was the best movie EVER!! twelve years later... maybe not ever, but I still love it.. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Jane Powell and Howard Keel) - 1954 This is probably my favorite musical.. the musical numbers are all a bit different from the norm (when was the last time you saw someone singing and dancing whilst chopping wood?) and the story is so funny.. kidnapping wives?? men really are idiots... ;) The Lion King - 1994 HA! it's before 1995, so it could technically be "early" 90's... Ok, I know that this isn't really old, but this was the first movie I saw in a theater that didn't scare the **** out of me (the adventures of huck finn.. my wasn't I a brave 6-year-old?) and it's pretty much my favorite movie of all time... I don't like the new version they did with that extra song added in though.. it totally screws up the pacing of that scene.... Singin' In the Rain (Gene Kelley, Donald O'Connor, Debbie Reynolds) - 1952 A total classic... I could watch this movie every week.. though I must say, I really don't like rain... Risky Business (Tom Cruise, Rebecca DeMornay) - 1983 This movie just makes me happy... I think it's so funny.. teaches good lessons too, like don't EVER park your dad's Porsche on a hill that leads into a lake.. EVER. Well that's it... I'm sure there are plenty of other movies I've seen an liked as well as these, but my memory sucks, so...

What do your Avatar, Signature and title say to other people?
Jiazu replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
As for the age thing, it reminded me of something. One of my fiends said it was nasty that a junior to be dating a freshman because of the 3 year age difference. But you see couples with bigger ones being married and accepted. Weird to me.
I think that's just because when you're still a teenager, a few years' age difference can make a pretty big difference.. but I don't really know cause stuff like that doesn't bother me.. anyway.. BK, your sig means that you're in some team called The Aces (or you really like poker) and that you like POTC. and.. like a girl named Brooke? or something like that.. Your avi says that your name's Matt, and your title pretty much speaks for itself. -
that commercial for freecreditreport dot com... that guy is so annoying.. "and it happens to be 720!".. he's really obnoxiously smug.. hmm yeah i guess that's it, i guess those head on commercials are pretty awful, but they quit with them months ago (mostly)... @Kuja... well i guess there are only so many ways you can say "buy this coz itll make ur hair rly shiny!!!!!!!!!!!111!!"

Name: Chora S. Park (Cho) Age: 19 Gender: Female Appearance: Height: 153cm (5 feet) Weight: 46kg (101 pounds) Eye Color: Black Hair: Purple (for now), shoulder-length, in lots of little braids. Blood Type: AB Biography: When she was a little girl, Cho would find injured birds and bringing them home to nurse them back to health. One day, when she came home from school with a box of about five birds, her mom asked her how she found so many of them. When Cho said that she could hear them calling for help, her mom looked at her kind of strangely, then laughed and walked away. That was when she realised that not everyone could communicate with birds like she could. A few years later, her family moved to India, and Cho rescued a kite (the bird, not the paper thing) she found tangled up in some telephone wires. After she nursed him back to health, she tried to let him go, just like every other bird she'd rescued; but the bird refused to leave. Cho didn't have the heart to force him to leave, so she named him Raj, and let him stay. When she and her family moved once again, this time to Canada, it took a lot of begging to get her parents to let her bring Raj along, but they finally relented. A few months after they moved to Canada, Cho's mom died in a freak car accident, and her dad, unable to deal with the loss, killed himself. After the death of their parents, Cho, convinced that her mom's death hadn't been an accident, left her little brother with their uncle, and set off to find out who or what was behind the car crash that cost her mom's life. After some of digging, Cho heard about a place where people with powers lived, and, after a bit of inquiry (sparrows are rather good sources of information... at least when they're being stared down by a mean-looking bird with a beak that could rip them apart in no time flat...), decided that even if no one there knew anything about her mom, that it would be a good place to learn more about her powers. Powers: Can communicate with birds. Also, she never gets hurt... this may be related to her powers in some way, but hell, maybe she's just lucky... Affinity: Straight, more or less... Other facts: She hates her middle name, so she never tells anyone what it is, and has an affinity for temporary hair dye. She won't talk about her mom very much, but she always carries a picture of her. When Cho was growing up, her family moved around a lot, and, as a result, wherever she happens to be staying at the moment is "home" for her, be it an apartment over a traditional medicine shop in Chinatown or a hotel room in Singapore. She has a knack for languages too, being able to pick up almost any language in a few months without trying very hard. If there's anything wrong w/this tell me...
In any case, I don't expect we'll have too many people protesting until about the 2nd movie, unless there's some christian who's read the books and is able to sprad the word. Not that it isn't likely, but I suspect that right when they got to the blasphemous part, they would stop reading it... So who knows, I don't think it will be a big deal unless the movies turn out to be a big success, like Harry Potter.
Well I didn't stop reading it... and I was really into the whole christian thing back then too... Actually, I got them from my (super-conservative christian) school library :) I was pretty surprised that they were still in there though, and I bet someone's complained by now. And it will totally be a big deal...some people can be incredibly insane about that kind of stuff, whether it's a big hit or not. It's like the concept of 'if you don't like it DON'T ******* WATCH IT' hasn't really caught on in some circles... and the bad thing is that they give the decent christians out there a bad rep...

Anyway, the first pet I had was a hermit crab named Balto (remember that movie?). It scared me... then we went on vacation and it died while we were gone. I remember when we got back my dad said he buried him, but he wouldn't tell me where... i only just realised a few weeks ago that he just threw him away *sniff* :). Ah, youth... Besides the wee crustacean, I had budgies... I got two, a boy and a girl. but the girl flew away, so I got another one so the remaining wee creature wouldn't be lonely.. Then he died. So I got the recently bereaved one another companion... and then we went on vacation and they got eaten by cats. Then the second year I was boarding, the family I was staying with had two cats.. not mine (they were actually my best friend's, but her mom just gave them away randomly), but i loved them.. so cute!! Then they got attacked by a dog and one ran away.. the other one was fine though.. she had three of the cutest kittens EVER. Then my friend got her back, and then she got run over. Yeah... I'm never getting pets. They'll just die. I must be cursed.
One thing this movie will clear up is how to pronounce some of the names from the book. I don't think I've ever pronounced Iorek's (spelling?) name right, and Pantalaimon as been giving me equal trouble... So at least That will be cleared up.
Yay for movies! I'm never quite sure how to pronounce names like those either.. I just watched the trailer, and the movie looks like it's gonna be really good... can't wait! I perdict large-scale boycotting of this movie by various christian organisations.. at least by amber spyglass...hehe one thing I've never understood is why people like that always BUY TICKETS TO THE MOVIE and then 'walk out' in protest... uh... you already paid for it... hello?? Now... to read the books again before I see it or not? What do you guys think?

but this is ok. I think that it's better if you don't listen to it expecting the usual sound... The album's actually pretty good in its own right, now that I'm listening to it for the fourth time. I pretty much grew up listening to LP too, and I definitely prefer their old sound to this, since I think that was what made them so great in the first place. Nhot that I'm against maturation of musical style (or some other way to say that that doesn't sound so damn snobby) or anything... but metal beats U2 any day. 1) What grade are you going into after this year? Are you graduating? Or did you already graduate? If so, what year? I graduated in '06, but I took the past year off to take care of some stuff, so I'm starting college in the fall. 2) Are you, or were you, worried? What do you plan to do with your life or are you just as confused, (and in some cases, scared) about the future as I am? Hell yes I'm worried. I'm really shy (really people just scare me), so I don't make friends very easily; and I just moved back here after 9 years, so the only people I know are randomly scattered everywhere (not counting my parents), and I'm incredibly lazy and unmotivated, so I'm hoping that I'll be able to find something in college that I really love, so I can actually succeed in life (as in not becoming a hikikomori for real instead of just sort of)... 3) Did everything work out in the end? Or was there some sort of hinderance that kept you from going or doing what you wanted to? I hope it'll all work out. Usually for me things seem to basically turn out alright, so I'm trusting in my luck for now. 4) What sort of advice can you give to someone like me? (Someone in high school who is freaked out of his mind) Hmm.. advice... Well, I don't really know anything about college, or about life, but I do know about being away from home... And the one thing I can say about that is: don't be a loner. Even if you're not a social person, if you don't make the effort, eventually people just leave you alone, and you'll wind up alone and depressed... or at least that's what happened to me for couple years of high school... which sucked until I realised that there were actually people who wanted to be friends, but since I was always by myself and giving off this "stay away from me" vibe, that's just what they did... Stopping=bad, moving forward, however slowly, =good. Well.. I hope I didn't just freak you out more or anything. One last thing, ENJOY YOUR SENIOR YEAR!!!!! you're not gonna get another one, and that's the one thing I wished I'd done a little more of.

Pretty Much any VeggieTales song.. but especially The Dance of the Cucumber. And The Cheeseburger Song. I Love those two :) Besides songs by limbless talking veggies, the funniest song I've ever heard is one me and my two roommates at the time made up one night when we were supposed to be sleeping... One of them was really scared of roaches, so we made up this song so she wouldn't be anymore (yeah, dumb, I know... but it was like 2 in the morning).. It's probably funnier in person, but here's the lyrics anyway EVIL MINIONS OF DARKNESS by j, a, and c. *in super high-pitched loli-voices* Evil minions of.... DARKNESS!!! *melodically* they're pirouetting up your leg in bright red g-strings playing clarinet in a hair net.... while playing dru-------------ms bum bum badum bum ba dah da dum bum.............(this bit continues until someone stops it) Edit: A Brief Explanation of Some of the Madness: Red g-strings: Pinocchio from shrek. "It's a thong!!!" The evil minions are las cucarachas... and yes, hey can play clarinet whilst playing drums... 6 legs and all...
