1.
Same here. At times I felt like banging my head against my monitor.
You said hopefull smiles? This sounds like it's just going to get worse ;.;
Atleast I can look forward to some Kuro/Fai. I can't imagine Syaoran getting mad at Fai but I can definitely see Kurogane being less than pleased about his behavior. Tube of doom, eh? Why does CLAMP continue to confuse the TRC fandom? I had to read the chapter with Syaoran clone a couple dozen times before I could get a gist of what the heck was going on and now I have a feeling I'm going to have to do that again.

I know, I really don't want it to get worse, though. All of Acid Tokyo and Infinity arc has been a giant angst fest. And granted, this is after many chapters of fun and cuteness and general fluff with the angst thrown in via foreshadowing but geeeez. Come on, CLAMP, throw us a few happy panels. I'd be happy with just one right now. And you're right, I still have no idea what's going on with
clone!Syaoran and real!Syaoran. I mean, one of them is bound to die, I bet, or merge or something. And is clone!Syaoran just mindless now or what? Argh

Beats me!
I thought the only reason he attacked Sakura was because the curse said he had to kill the person who's magical power was greater than his (or something like that) and I doubt Kurogane or Syaoran possess that kind of magical power. No CLAMP! Don't make me hate Fai. I love Fai, and if he does something as bad as CLAMP is making it sound I will be angry. Why does he have to be such a complex character?

Oh, I definitely think that
the curse is still mostly the kill stronger person thing. But I think Fei Wong Reed made that curse very specifically for Sakura. I mean so far he's messed in everyone's lives, all just to get Sakura dead. Apparently he's been referring to Sakura as a corpse and she's close to it, now. So it's possible Fai's curse was meant for Sakura. And I'm very worried about what that interview meant. But I seriously can't imagine anything at this point that Fai could do to make me hate him. He just stabbed my favorite CLAMP character and I still don't hate him. Granted he didn't want to but still. The only thing that's making me mad with him is how he pushes Kurogane away and that's it.
Oh and CLAMP has said that, at this point, we're only 65% through the manga *laughs* So, I'm happy things still have time to get better for everyone. I'm hoping for a happy ending.
 2.
I'm glad that we finally get to see his past and the real reason why he was running away.
I thought Fai left Ceres because he commited some horrible crime. Now I can breathe a bit since he didn't turn out to be evil. However, now I think he's going to be more than a little emotionally traumatized from stabbing Sakura even if she isn't really dead (everyone should have seen that coming).
Amen! The gloomy atmosphere was getting really old. A manga series should not be that depressing.
Tell me about it! Here's hoping there's at least a few hopeful smiles coming soon. I can't take non-stop angst for too long. The new spoilers came out for Wednesday's chapter!
It sounds like Kurogane stops Fai from stabbing himself or something. That makes my inner Kuro/Fai shipper happy. But Syaoran and Kurogane don't sound happy. And that Sakura's soul ends up in that tube of doom from the beginning of Tsubasa. This makes me wonder what's going on in that scene from the beginning. Maybe Syaoran couldn't save her soul? Also, apparently Sakura's vision was of Fai killing Kuro and Syaoran. I wonder why he would have done that, though? I'm seriously not nderstanding it. But, next up we finally see what went wrong between Ashura-ou and Fai. I do wonder why Fai fears Ashura-ou, you know? But I'm also glad, yet still worried. A recent CLAMP interview said "We wonder how many people will still like Fai when they find out about his past?" So I guess we're not out of the woods yet...
3. Right now I'm pretty stressed, actually. I admit, I've always been lazy. But I'm the type that can be lazy about anything and still pull out ahead *ducks rocks* But this time...well, I think I've honestly met my match. I just spent two years in community college. It was wonderful. Amazing, even. I had wonderful teachers, wonderful classes, I decided more or less what I wanted to do. So now time to transfer to a university to finish education. I want to go to Windsor University, as a friend of mine lives there. But that is in Canada. I am in Michigan. This is turning into a much bigger problem than I thought it would. They need a thousand pieces of paperwork, it seems. They need proof I can pay for college, a visa, a passport, my course descriptions, other things I can't remember. And my college isn't willing to help, because apparently America doesn't like funding international students. Or the loan I took out doesn't. Or something. And Windsor thinks they do and argh. And I don't want my two years of college to go to waste, so I'm scared that they'll reject my classes. And I can't stand dorms but there is one building that I could probably love but it's limited and I need to get all this done first before I can apply. I've been in tears over this. I'm not even worried about my classes right now. I'm just scared my only plan for the future might be screwed. I don't have a back-up at all. ...As for personal life, eh, I ranted enough ^^;; But it felt nice to get it out.
 4.
I don't think socialism is the answer really. It's just about having the right healthcare system. Australia's Medicare system is pretty much the only one of its kind in the world, as far as I know. Various countries have tried (and failed) to mimmick our system (including Canada). Our system pretty much delivers the best of both worlds - access to low-cost healthcare services/drugs while also being economically sustainable (ie: it isn't a massive drain on our economy, like it is in Canada). It also ties into our private healthcare system in several meaningful (and sustainable) ways.
Really? That sounds very interesting. It's always interesting how some systems can work so well in some countries and cripple others. I wish I understood this topic better so I could see why it didn't work as well in Canada. Maybe part of the problem is that overhauling programs can be really taxing on a country. And I do agree. I certainly don't expect drug companies to simply give away medicine. In an ideal world, sure, but not here. And I remember learning somewhere that one reason America has good quaility health care is because it is such a big business. But I just wish there was a way to level the playing field a bit more. Sometimes it feels like a lose-lose situation. And this is a bit of a side note but Aaryanna_Mom mentioned a lot of money goes into ads. It certainly does feel like every other commercial is for some new pill. I do wonder, in some ways, if at least a bit of that money could be better spent. This really is one of those topics where I wished I understood economics better.
 5.
(And what's up with the aforementioned order and a diet soda? Seems kind of a silly place to get your "diet" from....)
Actually, about the diet soda thing, I'm fairly certain that too much diet pop is bad for you. Now I can't remember why but my mom's doctor told her it was unhealthy to drink it and not just for the normal soda reasons. What annoys me is how so many people today go on diets. I remember a survey down on middle school girls that found at least half of them were on a diet or planned on starting a diet. To me, it's another cultural problem. We don't need diets as a people. There are individuals who may need a specialized diet but for most people, really, eating a healthy balance of foods and being active is all that is needed. Diets also sort of feed into my pet peeve of how everyone wants everything now. It's like people can't stand for things to take one minute now, it has to take a few seconds. No one even wants to work for anything. Yay pet peeves.
 6. Actually, I remember this happening to me often in Xenogears, though my other games worked perfectly fine. It might be a Xenogears related glitch.
 7. I'm not entirely sure. I know that usually the co-pay is pretty small, like $10. I'm in Michigan and my dad works for the state, so we get our health care through that. It's not the best, honestly, as the company keep trying to find ways to kick me off the insurance. I'm be leaving for Canada in the fall though (hopefully) so we'll see what changes. As far as my take on it, I wish we were more of a socialist society. The more I study capitalism, the more frustrated I get with it. If what I've read is correct, then Scandinavian countries are more socialist leaning and they're doing much better with these things. And of course, I really hate the Bush Administration so there's that. Although it's not just because of the way medical things are handled but still.
 8.
But above all: HARRY POTTER.
Yeah! I had nearly forgotten about this. I'll be locking myself in my room, shutting off the internet and unplugging the phone while I read it, haha. I hate spoilers. I'm even looking forward to the movie, just so I can finally tell my dad book 5 spoilers (he only follows the movies, so I'm not allowed to tell him what happens in the books until the movies come out). Aside from gaming and movies, I'll mostly be finishing up transfering to university. I've finished my two years at community college, so now the fun part. But mostly I plan on writing. I want to get at least one of my novels done by the end of the year, so hopefully summer will give me the time to do that.
 9. THREAD REVIVE, I CHOOSE YOU! All right, so, has anyone been keeping up with the chapters in Japan? We've been given more of Fai's background and I must say, I feel bad for him. Not to mention Sakura. And Syaoran. And Kuro. And, well, everyone. Prepare for [STRIKE]the fight scene[/STRIKE] spoilers:
Wow, so, Fai and the twin who died so he could live? Or the clone. Any thoughts on that? I personally think it was a twin sister. And I still don't understand how that person died. They fell but...somehow, to me, it seemed like there was nothing Fai could do to stop it. I've heard people say he was selfish but doesn't seem like it. And then, flash to now and we learn that as long as Fai lives, he's cursed and now he's stabbed Sakura. I think the curse is interesting but confusing. How can he kill those who surpass him? Unless the curse was aimed for Sakura only. And at least Ashura-ou is turning out nice
I'm also surprised wikipedia has already been updated with this information. Fans work in mysterious ways. I have to say, though, I'm glad this arc is finally picking up. I was getting tired of the moping. Someone needed to do something. Aside from this stuff, I'm enjoying the less angsty spot we are at stateside. It was fun to see Tomoyo and Sakura together finally. And I appreciated the Kuro and Fai stuff. I forget what would is next. I rather want the one with the Victorian look but I can't remember now ^^;;
 10. *pouts at RiflesAtRecess* Aw, c'mon. Don't I make up for any bad KH fans? Ahh, now then. Nothing like talking about the things that urk you. James Dobson (and Focus on the Family in general), Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Chick Tracts, George Bush, the guy who wrote the Left Behind series?Intelligent Design supporters. Can you tell what annoys me yet? *laughs* I also hate people who drive and use their cell phone at the same time. And although this one is a bit vague, just people who are uninformed in general. My country (America) would be so much better if people would just be informed and not spew out the first thing they hear. I?m also gaining a growing dislike of capitalism? Or maybe it?s just American society in general. On an ending note, do we really need spiders? My phobia is annoying. *ends bitterness*
 11. Oh, I definitely think they used Serge better than Crono. I mean, even when
Crono died
and everyone was freaking out, I still only cared because I liked using his attacks. I'm still not sure if that Lynx revelation would have been as good but you both do have a point. Serge did manage to actually feel like a person. I think a lot of the characters did, though, actually. Serge is special because he's mostly indirect and doesn't speak. I think, and this might have just been how I played it, but there was also something about Serge that made him easier to be "the player" without being a complete blank slate. But I think that many of the characters had good development.
 12. I can't say it's happened with entire CDs but it's definitely happened with songs. Not just the overplayed sort but just ones that I used to love and gradually, even though I still think they're good, I can't listen to them. Actually, it's happened with a band. Better than Ezra is one of my favorite bands and yet...I can't listen to their stuff anymore. I still their they're great but I've been burnt out on them for awhile now. Oddly enough, it hasn't happened to some CDs that I listen to a lot. For example, I can still listen to Yasunori Mitsuda's "Kirite" CD over and over on repeat. I don't know what it is that can make some bands, songs, etc get annoying and others not. It's interesting. But I think it happens to everyone at some point.
 13. Ahhh, Chrono Cross, how I love thee. Prepare for rambling. I think that, on the topic of Lynx's identity, it might have sounded weird if he came out and said
"Serge, I am your father"
but at the same time, I think that would have been really trippy and that CC could have pulled it off. On the other hand, Serge was sort of...lacking a personality and such a plot twist would have only worked if we could see how badly it affected him. I really found the game easy. Way too easy, actually. But it was a game that I found myself very involved in. I didn't play it because the battles were engaging. Rather, the world was very interesting to me. Like Shinmaru said, the different time lines and dimensions and the could have beens...I think when I first went into Another World, seeing all the differences, now that was fascinating. I must be one of the only people that really liked the good ending gained with the Chrono Cross, then? I thought it was sad that
everyone forgot each other and their adventures
but overall, I thought it gave hope and I was interested with how it left off with Kid. I think there was just something that touched me about the game. It was all the "another you" stuff. It made me think about possible other "me"s. Plus, it was pretty well used in the game. But it just got to me in some way that hooked me completely. Oh and the Developer's Room was so much fun! I loved the alternate endings. My favorite is the one where
Dark Serge, Kid and Harle go to the bar, Dark Serge is too young to drink even though he's actually not and they end up having to wash dishes because they couldn't pay the bill
Chrono Trigger is definitely great too, though. I do wish it had been more clearly connected. I loved Magus and I agree that you cared a lot more about the characters. It actually reminds me of a different series, the Lunar series. There's a point in the second game where you, as a player, realize that time has passed and the heroes of the first game are dead and it's a sobering moment. When I played Chrono Cross and it mentioned that
Lucca had died and then when FATE killed Robo
I just felt really sad. Especially in the Dead Sea and Nadia's Bell. Oh and as wrap up note, Yasunori Mitsuda writes such beautiful music in general and CC was definitely no different. Radical Dreamers is still my favorite song.
 14. After watching some anime today, I've grown fond of two voices. Specifically, I watched the D.Gray-Man anime. Allen's seiyuu took a bit of getting used to but I fell in love with his voice. He's done by Sanae Kobayashi who has a very sweet, pure sounding voice. Very girly but she is a girl, so *laughs* She's also apparently done Pi in .hack//G.U. and I love the .hack series, so I'm all for that. The second is also D.Gray-Man. Lavi's seiyuu, Kenichi Suzumura, has actually done a lot of popular voices it seems. He's got a goofy fun voice and it totally fits Lavi. He's also done Hikaru from Ouran Host Club and Demyx from Kingdom Hearts 2. He's done a lot of dramas, too, and I swear I saw some BL ones listed, which would make me a happy girl (Silver Chaos, at least, was listed). I really loved both of these voices and want to hear more of their work.
 15.
I mean, you could argue against that with other atrocities like the Indian removals and the Japanese encampments and etc., but none of them come close to the scale slavery impacted the US.
I would argue this point, actually. I don't think it's right to say that the crimes against the American Indian population "didn't come close." I would argue that it was equally tragic. Just read up on any given tribe and look at their current status. It's truly disgusting. The problem is that US history really is full of horrible acts, like any nation. And when it comes down to it, that's what the civil rights movements were about. Not just the movement for equal rights for blacks but during this time there were many groups, including the American Indians, taking up the fight. Okay, sorry, had to get that out. It seems to come up in a lot of slavery debates and it annoys me. The point is, I think we should be apologizing to at least several groups. African-Americans are one of them, for sure. A formal apology would be great but I would hope that, along with it, we'll see people doing more than just saying "Well, that's done now." But that's another rant for another time. And to answer the question in the title of the thread, I think it's something that never really went away, personally. So I suppose now is as good a time as any.
 16. Ahh, I'm probably going to be pulling out some cliched ones but I can't help it. Might as well get them out of the way, right? I have to note Ishida Akira because he did two of my favorite roles: Kaworu from NGE and Satoshi from DNAngel. Ogata Megumi did Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho but more importantly, she did Yukito and Yue from Cardcaptor Sakura. That was the first subtitled anime I watched, so all the voices there have a special place for me. Tange Sakura is still my favorite cutesy girl voice but again, CCS was my first sub. One that I've really liked lately is Namikawa Daisuke, Fai's seiyuu from Tsubasa. I actually really dislike most of the voices but somehow his stands out to me. And I love Sakamoto Maaya as Haruhi in Ouran Host Club. Actually, that's another sub where I love all of the voices. One of my favorite English VA's is Brianne Siddall. She's done Tsukasa from the .hack//SIGN anime but she's also done a lot of my favorite video game roles, like Jr. from Xenosaga and Elk from .hack. Joshua Seth is another fun one. I swear I hear Tai's voice in everything! (Digimon). But I really liked his role as Dio from Last Exile. That's such a good anime and all the VAs in it were good. Oh and the entire cast of Cowboy Bebop was amazing. I know that comes up in every "good dub" discussion but really, I think it's my favorite all-together cast. That's all I can think of at the moment. Not exactly anything obscure though.
 17.
This dude has a mask. Of course, he's from an anime, and it's not even one that's aired yet, so maybe it's not the best example... - Why has no one mentioned Tuxedo Kamen!? For shame!
Ahh, you're right, Dagger! I can't believe I forgot Tuxedo Kamen. That's sort of obvious, too. Also, that anime looks beautiful, especially the mask wearing guy. Hmm...I keep thinking that Kaitou Kid from Detective Conan (Case Closed) had a mask but I can't remember. I'm pretty sure at one point he did. This is making me realize there is a sad lack of awesome masks in both manga and anime. I really love masks, too.
 18.
No, the "lost season" has never been dubbed but you can find it subbed online. I've been watching it on youtube.
I take it you mean the season that's somewhat poorly drawn and where Kaiba has green hair, ne? That season isn't out, true, but it also wasn't true to the manga, either. It did add some random things, like the character Miho, and generally didn't seem to have had much effort put into it. YGO was one of my first fandoms where I really dove into it. My favorite character is Dark Bakura. What can I say? The guy is psycho and twisted. I like that. He's still my favorite character and the Memory Arc in Egypt with
Thief King and Zork
only made me love him more. I really ought to start collecting it again. I was wondering if anyone remembers the manga that Takahashi started after he finished YGO? It was some sort of remix of the manga and all I remember is it started with Jounouchi and Yugi and Pegasus.
 19. You mean mine? *laughs* Unless someone has the same banner as me. I have to say, it's one of my favorite images. The first masks I thought of, though, were from DNAngel. Such a great manga, I wish it would continue. But at any rate, there's a really nice image of Dark wearing half of a Krad mask. I always thought that image was really interesting, because since Dark and Krad are other halves, it made me think maybe Krad was really just Dark's mask. Crazy theories. There was also a case about masks in that manga but it's been awhile so I don't quite remember the details. It did highlight the way masks conceal the truth, though. Of course, there's always metaphorical masks but if we listed the manga characters who wear those, we'll be here awhile.
 20. One thing I've learned is that it's so much better to just ask and get it out of the way. I'm not saying rejections are fun. They can be horrible and depending on how much you like the other person, they can really hurt. But once it's out of me and that unsure feeling is gone, I know I feel better. The deciding and debating to ask or not ask is what drives me crazy. Sometimes, you just need to go through the list of ways to ask and just do it. It's like catharsis to get it out.
 21. Mmm, my song right now is "The Recluse" by Cursive. I'm sure most of you know them. They're pretty amazing overall but this song is one of my favorites. The music even sort of reminds me of spiders and I love his voice in it, how it never gets too loud and stays pretty soft. The female singing just adds something a little deadly to it. It's a great song. Oh and the person that suggested Dead Can Dance is great. They're always good for any mood.
 22.
Low-ride jeans that come up to your hips or right below have been in for the past 3 years.
You just hit on the fashion trend that annoys me most. I don't care for it. I don't care if people wear it, although I tend to disagree with their choice to do so. But that's not why I hate it. I hate it because it's getting hard to find nice looking jeans that aren't "super-low" or "ultra-low" and such. I just don't feel right wearing them. I don't want my pants over my stomach, either, but it's hard to find the comfortable middle ground. The fashion trend I hate the most, however, is in children's clothing. I can't stand the clothing little girls are given now. I call it Bratz clothing after those dolls. It's all halter tops and thongs and such. I don't understand why that clothing sells so well. It feels like oversexualizing girls. But fashion I do like tends to be in men's shirts and jewlery. They get some nice stuff. But otherwise I don't really notice men's fashion.
 23. Hello! This is the thread for questions on Life After Death, which can be found here. I'll be happy to answer any questions, as well as hear suggestions or whatever you have in mind. Once the RP starts, we can use this thread for deciding plot turns or where different members can bring up their own plot ideas. I want this RP to be a nice, group involving RP. So let's have some fun with it. Edits for Clarity: Just so that I can make things a bit clearer, at least. In the Afterlife, most mythological beings are real and considered the ruling powers. The Gods are almost like Presidents, although the various governments handle most things. There are places with Emperors and Pharaohs and some that simply have mayors and councils. I realized I might not have made that as clear as I hoped. But any other things that need clearing up, I'll be happy to do.
 24. The Afterlife. Ahh, a nice, peaceful place, right? Finally released from the sufferings of the living realm, souls are free. No cares, no troubles, just that promised, glorious eternity of rest until you?re reborn again. Or not. For the realm of the dead, things are quite active. Qin Shi Huang and his Terracotta Army have been restless as, well, as the dead. Not content to simply rule over China with other emperors, Qin Shi Huang has allied himself with the Chinese Gods and is slowly conquering the Afterlife. His army and land grows by the day and with the Gods on his side, no one seems to have the power to stop him. As can be imagined, not many are pleased with this. While many Gods are defending their lands or ignoring the problem, some have decided to fight back. The Egyptian Gods and Pharaohs, tired of Qin Shi Huang?s attacks, have launched their own military campaign. The fate of the Afterlife is caught up in these two power hungry armies, with no clear end in sight. Yet all is not lost. The Greek and Norse Gods have started to set their own plans into motion. Instead of declaring all out war, they?ve been recruiting and arming the souls of normal humans to fight the two vicious armies. Ares, Athena, Thor and Odin have been handpicking these individuals for greatness. These people are being trained to go into these foreign lands and stop the very Gods, Emperors and Pharaohs that stand in their way. It is no longer a quiet life for them. It?s a life full of danger, where the very existence of one?s soul is threatened. You want peace? Tough, you?re going to have to fight for it. Welcome to the Afterlife. Enjoy your stay, it might be awhile. ------------------- Welcome and hello! In this RP, you?ll be taking sides on the war for the fate of the underworld. You?ll be playing as one of the mortal souls that?s been chosen by their respective Gods to fight in the war, either against the armies of China and Egypt or, if you play as them, against everyone else. For the sake of the RP, only Norse, Chinese, Egyptian and Greek Gods are participating. Other Gods are trying to stay out of it. The Gods themselves will be NPCs. You may pray to them and interact with them like NPCs but try not to go overboard. Gods may approach you for special missions sometimes and it?s a good idea to give sacrifices to them when you can. Remember, these are Gods, so show some respect (even if it?s grudgingly, depending on how your character feels about them). Your role is up to you. Are you an assassin working your way towards Qin Shi Huang himself? Are you a spy for the Egyptians fooling the Greek Gods? Are you just out of luck and trying to find a peaceful solution? Maybe you?re even a bit bitter. Try to be creative and get involved with the world. One important aspect is the belongings system. Although players will be given goods by the Gods and can make offerings to them to receive new items, you generally start out with what you were offered at your funeral. Some people may only have the clothes on their backs and some jewelry. Others may have a burial mound or a pyramid full of stuff. Therefore, if your character has only recently been recruited by the Gods, he or she may have fewer things than someone who has been in their service for years. As far as geography goes, the afterlife is much like our own world, except a bit darker and more barren. There is a perpetual mist that hangs over the world. This mist is cleared up in the temples of the Gods and cities. Buildings of the living are not visible in this place, although alters to the dead like pyramids, burial mounds, graveyards and the like are around. There are many ?ghost towns? where people live. These towns are sometimes actual ghost towns but usually just versions of current cities that have been changed. For example, the New York of this world maybe be a ghost of the New York of ours, being from perhaps the 1920?s rather than 2007. Different towns age differently, so some may seem older than others. This also means your characters can be as recent or as old as you want, really. Just keep time period in mind when creating your character, as it may affect what jobs they are best suited for and their attitudes. The Alignments: Chinese Gods are somewhat divided on the issue of the war. Most have thrown their support to Qin Shi Huang. They?ve taken nearly all of Russia and India now, edging dangerously close to Middle Eastern and Nordic lands. Although the Gods are helping in the fight, make no mistake here: Qin Shi Huang is the one in charge. He?s crazy, paranoid and ready to take over. Egypt, in contrast, is mostly being led by its Gods. They?re currently fighting China in the Middle East having joined forces with, and in some cases outright defeated, the Gods there. The Pharaohs stay mostly in their pyramids and palaces. It?s the war generals to be wary of. Greek Gods have been edgy ever since Egypt joined the fray. Of course, since they?re Greek Gods, they have no problems gathering the common souls together to fight for them. They have chosen not to have direct parts in the fight, staying to their temples and simply following their hero hopefuls around for moral support. They worry mostly about Egypt but fear China almost as much. Norse Gods, however, are ready to fight. They not only pick their humans but train them and fight along side them. As such, these Gods are very busy and wandering all across the world, fighting the good fight to protect their lands. Their biggest concern is pushing back China right now. Reapers are neutral or at least they are supposed to be. This class of people is different from Gods and humans. Reapers are human souls trapped in limbo. They collect taxes on property owned in the Afterlife, eventually earning enough money to be released and reborn again. But, hey, with a goal like that over your head, it?s natural that a few are helping the war efforts on the side, for a small fee . . . Now then. What I need from you is the following: Name: [Please fit the area your character is from] Gender: [Fairly obvious] Age: [Anything above 18 for RP purposes, please] Alignment: [Either Greek, Norse, Chinese, Egyptian or Reaper. 25. Name: Celio Vasari Age: 34 (he insists he could pass for younger) Gender: Male, although he thanks you very much for asking Status: Self-styled noble, very styled if he can say so, which he does Faction: The Judiciary Appearance: Image Here and here Celio is a tall, aristocratic man, known for his elegance from the tie of his cravat, down to the very last stitch in his cuffs. His love of style and beauty is easy to see in his looks. One thing he constantly complains about, though, is his hair: short, brown and never listens to him. The short bangs always fall close to his eyes, except on the rare days that he wins over his hair. However, he does think his deep brown eyes compliment his hair, which is what is important, right? Celio is what one might call ?baby-faced? and what others have called a ?pretty-boy.? In reality, he is happy to be both. He not only looks younger, he keeps those looks in order. Standing at about 6?2??, he is lanky and yet moves with the perfect fluidity of water, aware of his every step. Often times, his movements are languid and somewhat exaggerated, although they are more reserved once there is business to do. He is especially proud of the way he carries himself, with easy, grace and charm, always ready to pull out a chair for a lady or get the door for a gentleman. His public costume displays his favorite colors, red and gold, as the only colors. The costume itself is wispy and bright, blood red, floating around him like a mist of veils and scarves, finished with a pair of slim matching gloves going up his arms. The headdress is a series of knotted scarves, dangling fabric ornaments and tousled veils. The single golden piece in the sea of red is a plain, emotionless mask, thin and undistorted. For some odd reason, people tend to mistake his public costume as female (although Celio insists he?s more ?pretty? and less ?effeminate?). His regular clothes vary, although they are always flashy. Celio prefers wearing the finest clothes available, with vests, jackets, long sleeves with giant cuffs, gloves, pants and boots. All of this tailored to fit. Yet for a man so obsessed with his clothes, only a few items matter. The sword tied to his side is not for show and serves as his weapon. A small dagger is kept in his jackets, just in case, though Heaven forbid that case come up. However, the most important is the dark, rusted old key kept on a leather strip around his neck. It is always hidden, tucked into his shirt. It is always there, a reminder of his true work. Personality: If it isn?t yet apparent, Celio is a chatty man. He?s not defined by his usually running mouth but it?s one of the first things people notice. His happiness isn?t even a mask (trust him on this, he knows masks). Celio, even in these violent times, can?t help but enjoy himself. He can often be found debating such life-altering decisions as what boots go best with his pants and if his hair should be brushed differently. He also has a deep appreciation for beauty, although it often comes off as superficial what with all the flirting and compliments. Even his underlings tend to be selected for the beauty they possess, both in looks and their skills. However, Celio isn?t so vapid that he misses the true beauty around him. He enjoys life, valuing his own and those close to him, and loves seeing happiness in those around him. That being said, he?s still a member of the Judiciary and he earned his spot. Celio?s nature charms can have a cold edge when manipulating those around him and he has no qualms with murder. He can be downright ruthless once it comes down to business and knows when to keep his mouth shut. When not tending to his nastier duties as a Judiciary, Celio enjoys the company of others, a bottle of wine and a good book. His closest ally and friend is Ilyse. History: Celio was born in Rome, Italy, where much of his childhood was spent. His parents, while fairly loving and supportive, were often busy in their jobs in government stations. Surprisingly, he is not bitter or resents them for not having time for him. He understood that duties were important and kept out of their way. Celio, therefore, was mostly raised by his older sister, Oriana. It was from Oriana that he learned to love beauty, loving flowers, gardens, people, buildings, paintings, even finely crafted weapons were beautiful. Oriana enrolled him in fencing lessons and watched over him during his private tutoring. They spent meals together, did their work together, shopped together, they did everything together. She was, in the simplest of terms, his biggest influence and his world. Eventually he decided to try his luck at becoming a painter, dabbling in law on the side to make ends meet. Oriana, of course, married and Celio was happy for her. In fact, things were pretty happy in general. Life was good. However, all good things must come to an end. When Celio was twenty-eight, Oriana was murdered on her way home from shopping. When Celio found out, he was devastated. He began to hone his sword skills, determined to bring down Oriana?s killer himself. In his mind, it was the only way he could repay his sister for her kindness. Yet fate again sent him another twist when Oriana?s killer was captured and sent to jail before Celio could get his revenge. There, he was safe from Celio, protected in the legal system. Or so he thought. Celio went back into law and became a master of it, using his natural charms to win his way through the courts, where he earned the honorary title of dungeon keeper and his own keys to the cells. It was outstanding, word spreading that a man had taken over the court with a simple smile. With the keys his, he could stroll the dungeons as he pleased. Celio became feared by the criminals there, known for his ability to twist words and throw their crimes back at them until they begged for mercy. After toying with Oriana?s kill for some time, Celio finally finished the man himself. He went home, planning to leave Rome when he was approached by a strange man. That man was Maestro. Maestro convinced him to hold others for their crimes, working for him. He offered him a high place and protection in the upcoming plot. Celio, doubting it would be wise ? or even an option ? to turn this man down, happily agreed. He became Holding, donning the public costume. That is, of course, his current lot in life. Yet sometimes, Celio wonders if maybe, things should be different . . .
