1. Tonberry pulled a golden pocket watch from out of his vest, glanced at it, and put it away again. Smiling, he cleared his throat, and began to speak. Tonberry: Good morning, everyone. I trust you all slept well? A few replies came from the group, some enthusiastic, others not. Tonberry chuckled, and continued. Tonberry: Alright. Well, now's the moment you've all been waiting for. Let's take a look around, shall we? Tonberry turned toward the large double doors at the back of the circular reception lobby. He walked towards them, pushing them wide open. In front of him lay an exquisite corridoor. Marble walls, Red carpet with Golden trimming, and black tiles underneath it. Above them, the sky was clearly visible through a massive glass roof, the framework plated with gold. This place was fit for a King. Xy: Tonberry, how did you afford this place? I thought this was a non-profit organisation? Tonberry: Well, Xy, it's hardly an organisation. And as for the cost... Well, I have my ways. Xy looked quizzically at the short, green figure, who just lauged to himself and walked on. He stopped in front of another set of doors. Tonberry: Alright, everyone. Welcome to the Colosseum. He swung the doors open, revealing a massive circular arena. On the lowest floor, there was a fighting ground. The whole thing stepped upwards, similar to the Ancient greek ampitheatre in the Old Universe. They were on the top floor. Tonberry pointed around to the archway doors circling the top level. Tonberry: Each of these leads to the main training area. There you will find our state-of the art training system. Care to take a look? Tonberry led the ground through one of the doors, and down a short hallway. They entered the main training room, seeing a plethera of equipment and machinery. It was quite impressive. But apparently, not impressive enough. Arano spoke out. Arano: This is it? This is no different then any old Gym or Fitness center! Tonberry: Ah, but you see Arano, it's not. Tonberry pointed to a large angled glass window, that looked down onto a lower floor. The group approached, and looked. In the 'pit', they saw a small green figure, about Tonberry's size, maybe smaller, jumping from the walls, fighting a group of robotic droids. He moved with excellent speed and agility, and struck with deadly accuracy. As he delivered the final blow to the head of the last droid, he stopped, and looked upwards, at the group. He smiled, and gave them a thumbs up. Tonberry: That, everyone, is Cactuar. He's been my Sparring partner as long as I can remember, and he's second-in-command here at the Sanctum. Piro: What are those robots he's fighting? Tonberry: Our patented fighting droids. Their skill levels are adjustable, and they're very easy to build, so destroying them is no problem. Plus, they're fully recyclable. We only have ten of these Droid-Combat arenas, so hopefully there'll be no rush to use them. The entry to the arenas is on the next floor down, you'll have to back out to the colosseum to use them. Tonberry grinned at the new students and raised his arms. Tonberry: Have fun. Make yourselves at home.

4. 5:50 am. Dawn. The sun rose over the mountains, radiating warmth and light over the basin where the Sanctum lay. The Horizon and clouds were alive with warm colours, pastel reds and oranges. Tonberry stood atop a cliff adjacent to the Sanctum, overlooking the tranquil place. He smiled, and jumped down from the ledge, gracefully landing on a boulder at the bottom. He jumped from rock to rock, fairly quickly. He stumbled once or twice--The dew had made the stone slippery, and what's more, Dexterity was hardly his strongpoint. He landed on a patch of grass near the path that led to the Sanctum. He straightened his shirt, and walked the path. He reached the front door, opened it, and went in. He was pleased to see a few people already up. One of them stood leaning against a column, eyes closed. Another was floating an inch off the ground, leg crossed and arms folded, Meditating. Tonberry was glad to see them up so early. Tonberry: Nothing like an early start, right guys? Seth: ..... Xy: Yeah. I just want to get started as soon as possible. Tonberry: Great. The others will be up soon, I hope. Until then, I guess we'll just have to wait.
5. Well here's the _technical_ answer. In FF1, there was only a limited number of colours per sprite (four in fact--One of them being a transperant layer). The Black Mage has A Mustardy Yellow for his Hat/Hands/Eyes, A Darker yellow for the shading on his hat, and a blue. So back then, the BM was the way he was for limitations on colour--And it worked. Why change a good thing, right?
6. A shrill tone boomed over HQ's emergency PA system. It echoed down every hall, every empty corridoor. The entire base stood still as they waited for the message. But Signas did not speak; Rather, it was Duke who delivered the announcement. Duke: Maverick Hunters... It seems we have a problem. A Power Facility in the Industrial sector has been attacked by a group of powerful Cyborg-Mavericks, disguising themselves as ALED officers. It seems that even the Facility staff themselves are double-agents. The Facility is now a threat to us. Hunter Squadrons Zero through Five, as well as the Elites, head to the Transportation Hub. There is no time to spare. All other Hunters, be on alert. You may be required to head into battle. As for those leaving now--Leave none alive. There was an Uproar amongst the base as many hunters ran to the Transport hub. Red pulsing lights around HQ flashed on and off gradually. Iota was out the door of the Holographic Training room before the Sim had even ended. She ran down the corridoor, heading for the Transportation Hub. On the way, she bumped into Reverb. Iota: Hey, I know you.. Reverb! You're one of the Elites, right? Reverb: Yeah, Iota, was it? Come on, let's get going. Together, the pair of Hunters sprinted towards the elevator that would take them to their destination. Up on the Nineteenth floor, Duke sat at Signas' desk, talking to someone privately over a Phone. Duke: Yes, I know. Don't worry, he won't interfere. Everything is under control. Duke pressed a button on the control panel for the Phone, and was put through to another person. He spoke sharply to whoever was on the other end. Duke: Take care of Warlock immediately. He will not disrupt our plans. ????: Alright. But it'll cost you--Double. Duke: I have the finest fighters in the world under my control. You are in no position to negotiate., expecially after I've already done so much for you. ????: Grr... Just you wait, Duke. I'll bring you his head. Duke: Good. As you were. With that, Duke hung up the phone, and turned on the main screen, monitoring the situation. Everything was running like clockwork.
7. OOC: You know guys, I did say that you'd be sharing Dorm rooms. There are no seperate bedrooms within the Dormatories--Just one, with two beds on either side. Make sure you remember that. ------- Xy: Your Mother is a star? How does that work? Sabir gave Xy a wry smile. Sabir: She wasn't always a star. What about your mother? Xy: Don't have one. Sabir: I see. Did she die? Xy: No... I don't have one. I have two fathers. Sabir opened her mouth to say something, but pulled out at the last moment. Xy grinned, and unpacked his things. He was tired, and had walked from the other side of the continent to get to the Sanctum. This would be his first sleep in a real bed for a good two weeks. He rubbed his neck, and took off his shirt, throwing it onto his bedpost. He fell down on his bed, face first. His back was aching. He heard Sabir's bed creak, and then footsteps. Before he knew it, Sabir was sitting on his bed, next to him. Sabir: You're aching. Xy: Is it that obvious? Sabir: Yeah. Backrub? Xy: Sure. Xy lay there, not moving, waiting for it. But nothing happened. He turned his head around, and looked at Sabir. Sabir: I'm waiting. Xy: Heh. Alright. Xy placed his hands on Sabir's back, and massaged his way up to her neck. He was firm--But not too much. Rubbing her shoulders with his fingers, he made circles with his thumbs on her lower neck. Sabir: Hmm. Pretty good. Xy: I try my best... By the way, you owe me one.
8. Ugh. I want to play that game so much, lol. I'm addicted to the the first one, Legend of Legaia, but Duel Saga hasn't been released over here yet. :( I hear there are awhole lot of new arts as well (in the first there was only Arts, Super Arts, Hyper Arts, Miracle Arts). But tell me--Is the music as good as it used to be?
9. The Song 'Backmask' by MSI really takes a stab at this, heh. It must be the only Backmasked song where playing it forwards is more offensive than playing it backwards, lol. Listening to it backwards, it starts with 'Don't listen to this Song', and then carries on with messages like 'Clean your Room', 'Do your homework', 'Don't stay out too late' and 'Eat your vegetables'. There's more, but I can't be bothered typing them, heh.
10. Ugh. I wasted a trip to America. I was in South Dakota, so Piro, I could've driven down and seen you. Also, I could've done a trip up North and met up with Mitch... I was lucky enough to get a free round trip ticket to anywhere in the USA, so I should've used that to go to California, and do a massive road trip Through to Louisiana (meet up with Juu, Rai, Rico, Ken, Cyko, Neil and anyone else on the way)... And I'll never go back to the USA again... *cries*
11. o_O; Uh, Des, X-Potions and Elixirs restore Full HP, therefore instantly kill Gi Natak anyway. Phoenix Down doesn't hit as often though, where as the other two I mentioned have a 100% success rate. So :p to you. Well, sure, but who wants to waste an X-Potion or Elixer when they can just use a cheap Phoenix Down, even if it does take two or three to get it to work? And besides, I just said something so I could ask a question because you didn't. :D - Desbreko Two or three? It took me over ten with a Phoenix Down. O_O -Break
12. Trust me Juu, we've looked... I don't think you can see him. We'll just have to wait for the Extended version, hmm? ^_^. I would've loved to have been an extra, but they didn't film anywhere around where I live. I wonder what they would've casted me as--A man, or a Hobbit? I've certainly got the hair for a Hobbit. o_O;
13. Use curative Items on him (preferably X-Potion or Elixir).
14. Half an hour after he had left, Tonberry returned. The new students were all gathered in the Lobby, some sitting, some standing, some in small groups and others on their own. Tonberry smiled, and walked over to the table where everyone had left their Student registration forms. The short, green figure scanned over them, nodding as he went. He picked up a clipboard, and began jotting things down while flicking through the forms. After a few short minutes, he tucked the papers under his arm, and spoke to the waiting students. Tonberry: Hi everybody. My name's Tonberry. First of all, I wanna get one thing straight--Don't think of this as a School. Think of it as a home. Secondly, don't think of me as a teacher--Think of me as a peer. After all, I'm still in training myself. Okay, now that we've got that sorted, I'll read out the Dorm list. First up, In Dorm A; Gigaslave and Shin. In Dorm B; Sabir and Xy--You guys are comfortable sharing a dorm together, right? Xy: Of course not. Tonberry: Ah, good. You know, sometimes people are uncomfortable sharing a dorm with a member of the opposite sex. Anyway, moving on... In Dorm C; Asuri and Ken--No problems there, right? Both Asuri and Ken shook their heads. Tonberry nodded, and continued reading from the clipboard. Tonberry: Okay, in Dorm D; Ben and Siren--Is that okay? Ben and Siren nodded in unison, and Tonberry went on. Tonberry Alright. Let's see here.. Dorm E is mine. In Dorm F; Mog and Seth. In Dorm G; Axel and Ageta. In Dorm H; Dan and Valygar. In Dorm I; Piro and Satari. In Dorm J; Blank and Yulaw. And finally, in Dorm K will be Kerndurnc and Shoryu. You guys might wanna go find your Roommates now, or something. You'll be spending alot of time together. The group shuffled around with people finding their Roomies. Soon, everyone stood in pairs. Tonberry smiled, and carried on. Tonberry: Great. Now, everyone in Dorms A through D, you go down to the left wing. Everyone in Dorms F through K, to the right wing. My Dorm is the first one along the left wing. All Dorms have their own Ensuites and kitchens, as well as a double bedroom with two single beds. There's also a small lounge area in every dorm. Now, it's getting late, and I'm sure you're all tired. Take your belongings to your Dorm Rooms, unpack, and get some rest. Tommorow, I'll show you around the Sanctum, and we might even be able to get some training in. Good night everyone, and I'll see you in the morning. And with that, Tonberry walked out of the Lobby, and to the door of his room. He enters the Three-and-a-half-foot door, and closes quietly it behind him.
15. Heh, and I love being me when you're being you, if you follow me. Okay, it's like this. 9mm Avenger, Akriel, Super Gohan and Wolf Maximas, you guys didn't make the cut. Don't take it personally. We have a limited number of spaces, and seeing as you guys (except for Super Gohan) didn't put dorms down, it was basically just first come, first served. For what it's worth, I'm sorry. Here are the dormatory lodgings; Dorm A: Gigaslave (JesterSpirit), Shin (Shinobi) Dorm B: Sabir (Raiha), Xy (Flash) Dorm C: Asuri (Juuthena), Ken (DeathKnight) Dorm D: Ben (Asylum), Siren (Raquel) Dorm E: Tonberry (Flash) Dorm F: Mog (Progressive), Seth (Warlock) Dorm G: Axel (Red XIII), Ageta (MajinVegeta) Dorm H: Dan (Cyko), Valygar (Yoda) Dorm I: Piro (Piro), Satari (Tasis) Dorm J: Blank (Medra), Yulaw (AJeh) Dorm K: Kerndurnc (Mitch), Shin (Sephiroth) A few more issues--First of all, Shinobi or Sephiroth, one of you is gonna have to change your name. Seppy, I'm tilting towards you doing it, seeings as Shinobi did sign-up before you. Also, you will be getting to know your roomates very well, as well as everyone else in the Sanctum. Make sure you know their personalities well--I don't wanna see people RPing Blank (Medra) as a Pacifistic, Sympathetic, Long-Haired Hippy or anything. I suggest you all bookmark this page, so you can come to check what people are like Physically/Mentally, in case you forget. And as for General Roleplayings--No cheezewhizzing/Godmodding. Take it in moderation, especially with training. Your stats will not triple after a single session of weightlifting, and shooting Ki blasts at targets will not improve your speed. You're a smart bunch, use your heads. Tonberry will cover the rest when I start the RPG. See you all there. ;)
16. I think he was refering to Episode II, as in, Attack of the Clones--Were you, stratigyless? If so, I'd have to agree, the new effects look amazing.
17. Name: Xyliestus Nicknames: Xy, X, Xylie (doesn't like that one much). Age: 19 Race: Changeling/Saiyajin Height: 5' 11" Description: Long, white spiked hair, black underneath. Has emerald green eyes and sports a small white goatee. His usual attire consists of an open shirt of some kind, and a tight-fitting sleeveless tanktop. He also wears baggy pants--Not for the fashion, but rather for comfort and agility in battle, as first seen by ancient Oriental fighters Personality: Like his fathers, Xy is very outgoing and friendly. He speaks his mind, and can tend to have a bit of trouble keeping in line with authority. He has no shame, and never feels embarassed or ashamed of anything. Some people call him weird, but he doesn't let it get to him. Occasionally, he has severe mood swings. History: Xy was not conceived in the conventional manner. Nor does he have a Mother and a Father--He has two Fathers. Two of the original warriors from the Cityship, Azrael's brother, Aestus, and his second in command, Zylius, fell in love with each other, and formed a strong relationship. Miraculously, the two of them survived the End of the Universe, and crash-landed on the planet. Man years later, they decided to bear a child together. This sounded like an impossible feat, but, due to the fact that Aestus was a changeling, and could reproduce Asexually, it was possible. Xy inherited traits from both Zylius and Aestus, but has never fully trained, and therefore never known his true power. He comes to the Sanctum now to learn his full potential. Strength: 30 Defense: 20 Speed: 25 Ki (Energy): 25 Dorm: B --------------- Name: Tonberry Age: 25 Race: Tonberry Height: 3' 0" Description: Green skin, yellow eyes. He is usually found wearing smart clothing while hanging around the Sanctum. In battle, he wears specialised Training Gi ethhic to his race. He carries a Knife and a Lantern with him at all times, as is the way of his people. Personality: Tonberry is happy, friendly sort who isn't afraid to give help to those who request it. He is very fair and tries not to take sides in an arguement. History: Tonberry was born in the Tonberry Kingdom, in an alternate dimension. The Tonberries are an advanced race and have knowledge of many complex systems such as interdimensional travel. It was through this that he was able to come to this planet, and found the Sanctum. He still visits his home on a regular basis, as Tonberries have a strong sense of family. Since then, Tonberry has managed the Sanctum by himself. Sadly, the complex has served mostly as an accomodation for travellers, as there are too few fighters in the world these days. 18. I'm shifting this to Recruitment--And maybe you could change the name of the RPG; It's really similar to Yoda's 'X-men; The Beginning'.
19. Yeah, from what I've heard, I like them. They're coming to the Big Day Out in NZ as well.. Pity it's in Auckland, not to mention the tickets are like $90 a piece... What's that latest single of theirs called? I liked that.
20.
Originally posted by Sniglefager Answer: well, I've only played a few FF games, but from what I know of, I don't believe any. Of course, I could be wrong, but...
It'd kinda be a pointless question if that was the answer, lol. I mean, I could say, 'How many FF games have there been where a Sausage named Horatio was a sub-character?'. You know where I'm coming from?--I sure don't.
21. Flirting is like hitting on someone, only more discreet, or at least that's how I see it.. You know, spending time with the person, all that... flirty stuff. I've never really flirted much. Too confusing.
22. Everything, the drones, the city ship, Xero, were all pulled into the void at the center of the universe. As it crunched down, colossal amounts of energy and light were expelled and trapped, which added to the final implosion. All points of the universe simultaneously folded over one another, beginning the implosion. A massive cross of light erupts out into a dimensional void, where huge, fierce electric storms rage across a barren infinity. The cross of light began to intensify, to the point where it?s borders were rupturing, energy shooting off at all degrees. Finally, the cross broke its barriers, and buckled, its points all falling towards the center. There was an eruption, titanic, overwhelming. The dimensional void itself was in a flux, as the universe ended. The cross of light was no more, and everything faded. The dimensional void shifted back to normal, the storms continuing as they had and would forever. There were no victors in this battle. Nor were there any losers. It was a stalemate at best. And now it was all over. The End of the Universe. But it was not the End of the warriors. No. It was merely the beginning. Caught in the focal point of a universal collision, the Cityship was not destroyed like everything else. Rather, it survived, but only just. Hull Integrity was borderlining at critical. The surviving crew had managed to escape inside the ship, the only thing seperating them from a dimensional void being a few inches of metal, slowly wearing away and buckling. They were flung through the void until, by chance, the Ship crossed the path of a massive 'white hole'. Unlike it's black counterpart, a white hole drew matter in from the void, and spewed it out into the vastness of space. Space existing in one of countless alternate universes. And they fell into one of them. The Cityship drifted for a few days at best. No-one was concious after passing through the white hole. By the time they awoke from their slumber, the Cityship had crashed on a massive planet, one which easily dwarfed the likes of Jupiter. The planet itself was frighteningly like earth. Landmasses spread over a large ocean, with various climates covering the lands. From cold, tussocky plains to tranquil green pine forests. But the odd thing about this planet wasn't even on the planet itself. Nay, it was high above it. There were four moons. One moon in the Eastern sky, one in the West, and another two in the North and South. Each one corresponded with the extremes of the region it stood for. For example, the northern part of the planet was, for the most part, quite cold. Therefore, the Northern Moon was a Barely-Inhabitable snowy wasteland. The Eastern Moon was covered in green forests and tranquil lakes, just like most of the Eastern part of the world. To the South, there were quite a few tropical regions, and this too was reflected by the Southern Moon. Part of the Western world was a sandy, rugged wasteland, so too was the Western Moon. But there was one more abnormality that was the most striking. Where the oceans of the world met, in the 'centre' of the world, there was a gigantic crevass. Masses of water poured into the endless hole, down to the centre of the earth, or so it seemed. And floating high above the huge crevass was an island. It hung in the sky, without any form of propulsion or flight. It seemed impossible, yet there it was. A Waterfall from the island joined the other torrents of water from the Oceans of the Earth, falling straight down the centre of the crevass. The whole area glowed with an eerie green tinge. The Cityship crashed in a remote part of the planet. Alone, the survivors began rebuilding their lives. But they weren't alone for long. Soon, they found the native inhabitants of the planet. They were human-like beings, not unlike the humans from earth. They were quite technologically advanced, with knowledge of advanced physics and other complex theories. The warriors and survivors from the Cityship intergrated into society quickly, most of them into a nearby town. A few of the crew migrated, moving to other parts of the planet. Eventually, they became adjusted to life on the planet. That was Five hundred years ago. Throughout the generations, the fighting spirit has faded. The descendants of the Legendary warriors of the past have had no need to fight, and such, have lost the skill and much of power they once had. The mythologies and legends still remain, though; Tales of their forefathers, amazing fighters who had the power to expell energy at will. But in recent times, even the stories have been forgotten. In the post-urban jungle, neo-industrialisation is turning many of the massive cities in the West into decaying, polluted ghost-towns. More money is being spent on researching colonisation in space. Unrest is rising in the once peaceful world. And among it all, there are a few who wish to remove themselves from the strifes and troubles of the world. Those who wish to persue the same paths as their ancestors; That of Power. From across the globe, they have all headed to a sanctuary in the forests of the Eastern world. 'The Sanctum', as it is known, is the last remaining testament to the ways of the past. A muesem of sorts--On the surface, at least. Underneath, The Sanctum is so much more. From an Archive of information, to a huge martial arts college. Hard to believe it is all managed by one creature. His name is Tonberry. From the fartherest reaches of the universe, Tonberry is a fighter-come-historian, but he is young, and his power still unbridled, his skill undeveloped. But, like those who have gathered at the Sanctum, through his veins flows a blood that lusts for conflict, for the fight. Like their fore-fathers, they will learn the way of the sword, the way of the warrior. It all begins here. Looking at the newly-arrived fighters, Tonberry smiles. There's more than he thought there'd be. He hands out a registration sheet to each of them. Name: Full Name, along with any Nicknames. Age: Your Age, in years. Race: What race you belong to. (Reminder; There are no pure-blooded Saiyajins here, because of half-and-half offspring, and such.) Height: in Feet/Inches. Description: Physical Description. Personality: Behaviour patterns, likes/dislikes, etc. History: A quick run-down of your life-story, basically. Along with the Registration sheets, Tonberry hands each person a PSM. Personal Statistics Monitor. With these, monitoring your training becomes much easier, as the PSM can give you exact readings of Strength levels, Fatigue levels, and other useful information. You have 100 stat points to distribute to four different stats; Strength Defense Speed Ki (Energy) Tonberry smiles at the applicants, pointing down a hallway. Down it, there are several doors, each lettered from A to K. They are all dormatories. Each is big enough to accomodate two people. Tonberry: Please, feel free to pick your own Dorm rooms. Choose whichever you want; Except for Dorm E--I'm staying in there. With that, he smiled, and walked back to his Dorm. Before he entered the door, he turned back to face the students. Tonberry: Leave those forms on the table in the lobby. And welcome to the Sanctum. He opened the door, and closed it behind him. Everyone took their issued pens, and began filling out the forms. It's been awhile.
23. Hey, whatever happened to my question? If this quiz is going to happen right, we can't have three questions going at once. Flash is right, people--only one question should be up for answering at a time. And if you're going to answer a question, please make sure to also ask one, as that will both help keep the quiz moving, and help to keep multiple questions from popping up. - Desbreko
