1. Sounds fun. I'd be delighted to join in...
http://www.miieditor.com For those of you who don't know what a Mii is, it is a character that can be created using a program on the Nintendo Wii to resemble anyone you want it to (To a certain extent.) This site is the Flash version (It should be noted that Flash Player 9 is required for this game.) Anyway, the idea is that you can create a Mii that looks like a famous person, fictional or nonfictional (Please make them somewhat well known.) You then post the URL at the bottom of the editor so others can see your creations and guess the identity of them. Three clues will be given to aid the guesser. Also, please conceal the URL in a short word series to prevent any potential problems with the site display. Like So. Hints: 1: A Naruto character. 2: Often seen wearing green. 3: A lightweight when it comes to Sake, but a fantastic drunk.
*guesses, with her limited knowledge of Naruto characters* Rock Lee?
2. My Dad... is hardly ever there. My Mom and Sister... are very nice half the time, and violent/mean the other half. My Brother... is just a foul-mouthed little brat. End of story. I try to stay out of family arguments, but I just get dragged into them. I don't know what to do sometimes.
3.
sorry, but ive just been really busy, this is the first time ive been to this forum in a week or two. someone can take the "lust" category if they havent already.
Awwh, I'm sorry to see you give this one up. I was looking forward to seeing your entry...could I try this one, then?
4. On the movies: Overall, the movie was a bit too long and confusing, but don't get me wrong- I loved it just as much as the last two. Very funny and exciting, one of the best Disney live-action movies I've ever seen. I highly reccomend watching the bloopers on the DVD's as well- where in some movies they're pointless and downright stupid, Dead Man's Chest had especially good outtakes, from Beckett dancing to the "Davy Jones Crocodile Machine" to the bit about Johnny Depp's dog. (I'm ashamed to say I didn't even know about the bonus scenes until a day or two later, when I researched the plots on Wikipedia. I'm going to have to re-watch both movies now...) Don't forget, Starz and USA are showing the first two movies tonight. If you need to catch up, remember to tape them.
5. I chose to come here because I... A. Wanted to meet new users with similar interests (Art, Anime...), which is always fun to do. I thought there would be a lot of nice people here, and I was right. I consider users like Cat14 my friend already. B. Get criticism on my artwork and get commissioned to do artwork without graphics/drawing elitists going, "OMG. U A NOOB GO WAI." and flaming me constantly. :animeswea C. The smilies. Who doesn't love catgirls? :catgirl: That's about it, really.
6. About my piece, "Heroes": Original art by: Tetsuya Nomura Render by: "Balla" Tutorials used: Blending images by "Fencepost" of GIMPTalk Forums. Inspiration: Sora of Kingdom Hearts, a brave character and a hero of mine (although he is sadly, just a digital character), and the camouflage-green worn by the brave men in the armed forces, heroes of the "real world". Enjoy! :animesmil -----
7.
Sorry, that one's taken as well. Check the first post for the master list of all the terms and who's already signed up for them.
*dissapointed* It hadn't been updated when I last checked...sorry. :animedepr What about 38) Heroes?
8. Is "That's Love" taken? That's one of the ones left I'd be interested in. EDIT: Drat. What about "Lust" then?
9. Done with the help of this lovely GIMP tutorial (Thanks, Sydney!). Comments, requests, or suggestions anyone? (Note: I am a sensitive person, so no flaming please...)
10. I'd kill to go to a 'con of any nerd-related sort (mostly to cosplay, meet other fans, and get things signed, the usual), but I neither have the right amount of money nor my parent's support. What are 'cons like, usually? Are they worth it?
11.
I missed this earlier but... 1 or 2 a month?! Depending on the drink, it's hard to get even a minor buzz off 1 or 2 in an hour, even for light drinkers. Your idea of moderation is so conservative and shocking I'm left wondering if you've ever even had alcohol.
I'm only 16, so yeah. But believe me, my dad's a light drinker (only one or two drinks every so often) and he still swerves and acts really scary when drunk. That's why I think why I do. :animeswea
12. Alcohol, in moderation (say, one or two drinks per month ingested by a responsible, over-21 person who promises not to drive while intoxicated) is fine by me. Non-prescription drugs like crystal meth and cocaine (as well as cigarettes)? Not so much. I've seen in D.A.R.E./Health Class what they do to your lungs and other parts of your body, and it's disgusting. I vow personally to never do drugs or cigarettes, or date anyone who does them. Ever.
13. 1. A Non-Typical Plot: I'm getting sick of "harem" and "magical girl" manga, but if you can pull the plot off without making it terribly generic, I will probably be interested. Two examples of "magical girl" manga I really like are Cardcaptor Sakura (the art and humor are great), and Tokyo Mew Mew, which is a cute manga with an ecological edge (every main female character is based on a specific endangered creature, and the graphic novel features biographies on these animals and how to save them). ----- 2. Likable Characters: One example of a manga character I love is Chii from Chobits. Although she was a robot, she had very human qualities, such as clumsiness and love, and her childlike character made me want a Persocom myself! On the other hand, if you can really hate a character you know is fake, or if a manga makes you shed honest tears, you know they've done really well. ----- 3. Great Art: Which explains why I'm a sucker for CLAMP. I love their artwork enough to have drawn fanart, made forum signatures, and stared at it for hours on end, and I still can't get enough, that's how much I love it.
14.
1. There aren't really any fads going on right now (Whoever said that "signature marriages" were popular clearly wasn't here at the time that I was spurred to create the OtakuBoards family tree due to how many people were related to each other).
You're correct- I only joined a few days ago. *ashamed* I wouldn't mind bringing the "family" thing back though- *pokes sig* it was fun on other sites when we tried to do it (I think I was half a dozen people's wife, I had three or so husbands, a daughter-in-law, a demonic pet)... ----- @ Hylian: You're better than I am- you could be making me a sig! :animeswea What programs do you use?
15. I haven't gotten around to reading/watching Death Note yet, but if I was a fan, I'd definately buy that shirt. Great job on the designs. *thumbs-up*
16. I found this (click on the word "this" for link) today, and I hope it tides you all over until "At World's End" is released. This video's essentially a refresher course in the first two movies...in 30 seconds...re-enacted by bunnies! Very funny work, Jennifer Shiman is a genius! :animesmil
17. I had one a few years ago on Yami Yugi- the big purple eyes and brave, kind demeanor (I love a man who sticks up for his friends) are what did it for me. I realized after awhile that I wasn't getting anything out of it and began relationships with "real" men instead. Sure, they can break your heart, but it's better than pining away for something that will never come to fruition. :animeswea
18. Welcome, Hylian! :catgirl: I only came here a day or two ago myself, but I can help answer a few things... 1. "Forum Marriages" seem to be really popular. 2. Dunno many people yet, but White and the Admins and such seem to be really cool. As well as everyone who so kindly helped me out in the "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl" thread on my Gym battles. Thanks, guys! 3. Three or so days/the_heart. I'd love to make you an avatar or sig if you want one, just give me a call, k?
19.
Thank you so much. You did alot better then what I came up with using GIMP. Again thank you.
*giddy with excitement* Oh, you're very welcome, Kitty! Anytime you want graphics, please come to me first. I'd be glad to make something for you. ;)
20. I'm really only a beginner in GIMP, but here's my shot at it: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a252/BrideofDo0m/wednesday13avatar.png
21. I'm really nervous about saying this, so please don't flame me... :animeblus I have an online boyfriend myself, and I do love him very much (I'm 16 years old, and he's 17). I take our relationship seriously, and in a year or two I plan to take a good friend with me to meet him, just in case anything bad happens. I know what's happened to other kids who this has happened to, and I promise not to let myself get hurt.

Pok
Yeah...my Graveler and Kadabra would be better evolved too. Also, for beating Maylene, use a Staravia and/or a Kadabra. I actually used my Staravia and then my (forgot the name, but it's Shinx's evolved form) to take out her last pokemon. On top of all my guys being at least 3 levels underneath her lowest leveled pokemon, it was pretty simple.
Gotcha. I caught a Lv. 20 male Kadabra in the fields before the city and pretty much sailed through the battle. Thanks for all the tips, everyone! ----- (There were two Items I couldn't reach in Maylene's city- one was on top of a plateau with no steps, and one was in a warehouse behind two boxes. How do I get to these- certain Poke-powers, or what?)
23. The Heart

Pok

I just bought Pokemon Pearl about two days ago, and already four of my Pokemon have evolved- Budew, Shinx, Starly, and my starter Pokemon, Piplup. Overall I love the game, from the music to the 3-D(ish) graphics, to the addition of the Berries and Eggs (I've only played Yellow and Blue before this, so it's new to me)...I can't wait to see what's next for this timeless series. :animesmil BTW (by the way), any tips on beating Maylene? I've lost to her about four, five times already. I know Staravia and Prinplup's Flying attacks would work, but they just keep fainting before they do any good...
24. (First post! *nervous*) Personally, I'm most excited for Pirates of The Caribbean 3, Spiderman 3, and Harry Potter 5. I've seen the rest of the movies in all three series and liked them, so why not? :catgirl:
