1. Yeah, but I want to hear your theories on Kaworu, but I don't want you to spend all day explaining it. I just don't like Rei, but I guess I do feel sorry for her. And I agree with what you say about her I think....She wasn't really ever exposed enough to emotions to actually have emotions, I don't think. Do you remember that episode where that woman,
the one that was Ritsuko's mother, killed one of the versions of Rei because she was jealous of her?
That was pretty freaky...
2. I like that show, you don't have to dog it so much. I think it's funny for a kid's show, the way they are always just trying to find some change so they can get a jawbreaker. That show plays true to reality about the popular kids in the neighborhood and the "dorks". It's a whole lot better than letting your kids watch DBZ. If you would like to hear my rants and raves on that, check out the forum General Anime, the thread "Just a Thought..." and see what I have to say there.
3. No, I haven't read that one, but thanks so much for going to the trouble of scanning it for me, BG. And since everyone is singing it's praises, I'm going to make sure I read it myself. I don't have anything to read and it's so boring during the summertime without a good novel to curl up with. I AM reading a Clive Barker book called Imajica and it's really interesting, but I need a SW fix, I think...

Green Day

I like Green Day...even since they first came out, and their old stuff is way better than the new stuff. But you never hear much from them anymore...it's really sad. Lately though I've had "Hitchin' a Ride" stuck in my head...I really need to get a Green Day fix before I end up going out and buying one of their albums like I did Pearl Jam...
5. Hey Flash, when are you going to start this thing, like is their a specific date you have planned? And are you going to pick people to see if they were worthy or does everyone who signed up get to participate? I was just curious because I'm really excited for it to get started. I hope there's going to be lots of character interaction...it sounds like so much fun.
6. Well, the TV series is alright, but the OVAs, which came out a while ago, are much better. I've only seen the first volume of the TV series myself, but I liked it. I like depressing things because it counters my happy and cheerful self. Sometimes I need to watch stuff like that so I can mellow out a little bit. But yeah, I liked it...and it was nothing like Sailor Moon...SM was cheezy and it had a redundance of the monster everyday, but at least the plot was awesome and the storyline went someone. Of course, it was chopped up badly for the American version, so I suggest everyone read the manga and forget the nightmares you had from the horrible dubbed version on Cartoon Network....
7. I hate final exams, but they aren't really as bad as everyone says. There are some that are horribly hard, and that's why I have perfect attendance, so I can exempt them. Like my US History exam, everyone in my class almost failed that one, but I just didn't have to take it because I always came to school everyday. So yeah, and I usually don't have to study much for any of mine anyway, I'm pretty bright when it comes to academics and I make straight A's....Ugh, that sounded like I was bragging, so I'm going to shut up now...
8. Well, for one thing, I agree with your friends in trying to get over this girl. She did you really dirty breaking up with you for the summer and then wanting to hook back up when school comes back in. What that's basically saying is that she doesn't want to be tied down during the summer so she can find someone else and have fun and flirt and so forth and then USE you when school comes back in, so she can have a boyfriend again if nothing works out for her during vacation. Seriously, you should forget her, find someone better even though you ARE constantly thinking of her... Now about blind dates, if you trust your friends' judgement, you should give it a try because they may actually introduce you to someone who could be very special to you one day. Once I met a guy over the phone and then we hooked up and I met him and he was really UGLY, but I liked his personality so much we dated for almost 8 months I think. So yeah, don't completely cast this aside, I think you should give it a chance. You may like what happens and how the outcome turns out. Afterall, it is summer, and you really don't want to be lonely.
9.
But he doesn't have a soul, either. He was created just the same way Rei was. He was just CREATED, just to be used for something greater than humans are capable of. That's what I meant by that. I'm not sure why he was such an emotional person, but he definately wasn't human. Maybe he could do it because he was more advanced than Rei was. There was something special about him.
I think Rei could have been capable of emotion, she just never really tried to be. She was pretty much an evil...okay I'm not even going to go there... I think I'm just biased against her because I like Asuka so much... Of course, I think it so awesome that Rei means Ghost and it also means Zero. It has such a deep significant meaning. I forget what Asuka means, but I think it had a deeper meaning, too.
10. My favorite SW book is The Courtship of Princess Leia, but I think it's because I'm such a sucker for romance and stuff...I can't even remember alot of the books that I've read, like which ones I have and haven't since it's been so many years...But I did like Darksaber. I don't know if I've read I, Jedi or not...I'd have to see the cover of the book. Anyone got a picture on hand? And what exactly was it about?
11. That is a good point, that I never even considered. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I really like your point. Goku's a complete idiot anyway...and I think it's so stupid the way he is...but the message of that show is Perserverence and never give up! Eat beans and get stronger! Fight to the death! Peace forever! I was born as a Bastard because my mom and dad were short term lovers! YEAH!
12. I used to be addicted to the internet because I used to live in chat and stuff. I had this very close group of friends that I had know for about four years. I loved all my online relationships and I got very close to some people. But then everything fell apart in my chat life.... Then I got introduced to the OB, thanks to Anna, and I posted on here alot and made new friends, who are a whole lot cooler than the other ones, who were constantly backstabbing one another and trying to be better than each other. I was still addicted to the net, though... Then my phone kept getting disconnected, so I wouldn't be able to get online...but I always tried to post on here still from school. And by time my phone did get cut back on, I was dating this guy, so instead of going online everyday, I would talk to him on the phone. And so, my addiction died out. But now it's summer time and he works during the day, so here I am, and the only reason I get online is to post on these boards!!!!! I'm so addicted to this place. I often refer to it as my internet home. People do love this place, James. It's not gloomy or anything like that.
13. I usually always have to have someone to talk to. I need someone to listen to me and give me advice. Anna is the best person in the world to talk to...if only she could reply to this thread. I also like to draw when I'm feeling down. I can usually get my emotions into what I'm drawing and end up with a well done piece of artwork. And like Boba Fett says, exercising is GREAT. Go run a mile or two, do some sit ups and push ups, anything that keeps your body working too hard to focus on your emotions. It's a great stress reliever.
14. I have no clue why he is. I can't really remember because it's been a while since I've read it. Tira is only a psycho because she's in competition with her sister for the same guy. She's got to go all out and be a little crazy sometimes, you know? And plus, everyone probably thinks her sister is prettier than her because she is a slut and she'll let it all out....so Tira has to work harder I think without being a slut.
15.
Of course Kaworu and Shinji's relationship was very strange, but it was awesome.
I think that Shinji did love him and he even said so, I believe. That was one of my favorite episodes.
Kaworu was like the guy version of Rei I think. Rei wasn't a real person and she could be reborn anytime she died. It was really sad. And I think she was based on Shinji's mother, and that's why Gendo liked her so much. I think she had a crush on him too, but only because he actually seemed like he cared for her, and not for what she was capable of.

16. If you can't find the manga at a place like Media Play or something, you can always try any bookstore, I'm sure they would carry it and if they don't they could special order it for you. I am going to eventually get the anime, but I just haven't yet. But it's on my list of shows I want to see. And don't call Tira a psycho...she's a sweetheart. And she's so much more sexier than her sister! :D
17. Yeah, but when you think about it, I don't think CN was really thinking about their younger viewers and what could happen to them if they watched this stuff, I think they were only thinking about the money they could make and the ratings they would get if they showed more anime. So they put the disclamer so they could legally show it and not get sued if a parent finds their kid watching something with lots of blood in violence in it. It makes me very sad. I also think that it's just more than watching the show. If the child has come from a disfunctional family, has no friends, has nothing, is always teased, and watches these shows, someone like Spike could be their hero. And that's what could lead them to actually take some sort of action.
18. Ew yeah, the Peach Man was some kind of gross. Of course, the NothingWoman scared me, too, the way she made herself look like Inu Yasha's mother when she was really a demon (at least I think she was) employed by his brother, I think, can't think of how to spell his name at the present moment. I think Miroku and the new girl are going to end up being a couple. Things are falling into place way too nicely for them not to.
19. She slit her wrist after he saved her. And he also told her that she was raped when she really wasn't. I'm not exactly sure when she slits her wrist, it could be before or after, but I think it's after, seriously...and then he had to keep her from killing herself. Man, Nakago is one of the most evil badguys, and he's always got something up his sleeve. It's not the same old crap over and over again. He's truly a mastermind of evil schemes. Of course, I think he really felt something for Soi, the way he carried her body around after she sacrificed herself to save him. He probably wasn't capable of feeling love at the time, but I think she could have changed him if only she had the chance. He was only using Yui to get her wish. It wasn't necessarily Yui who was important to him, it could have been any girl if she was capable of becoming the Priestess of Seiryu. And I think it's so funny that you and I are the only two participating in the this discussion. Oh well. :)
20. Actually, I did have a run in with that big green monster the other night, and I chopped it's tail off with a butcher knife and ran for my life...:drunk: Okay not really, but anywho... Kids follow by example. Now, me, I learn from it this way, I grew up with my parents smoking and drinking, so I don't want to do it because I know that it stinks, it makes them unhappy, and it's just so unhealthy and so forth. But my sister on the other hand does it because she thinks it's cool, and she sees them do it. Your parents can say, do what I say not as I do, but if they are setting that example for you, then you are going to end up doing it yourself probably unless you have a very strong will and very strong morals. And look at Spike on CB. Lots of young boys probably idolize him. They probably want to make their hair look like his, carry around a gun, and constantly be smoking a cigarette. It's so pathetic.
21. Yeah, me too. I like Miroku, too. Okay, I think I just like all of the characters! :drunk: I mean, he seems level headed and very smart. And he carries around a pretty stick. He reminds me of Chichiri from Fushigi Yugi!
22. I love this series. I've read alot of the manga and it's so awesome. It's funny as heck. I just haven't never seen the anime because 1) I know that the manga is probably a million times better anyway and 2) They never have volume one at Media Play when I go shopping, and I don't want to dive right into the series. I do recommend it though. My favorite character is Tira Misu. She's so pretty with her pink hair. And she's really smart, too. And she's not a big slut like her sister Chocolat. So yeah...
23. Yeah, I suppose that's why she was chosen. Because she was bent on vengeance and so forth. But of course, Nakago helped mold her into what she was. He kept telling her that it was all Miaka's fault and so then Yui just kept hearing that and hearing that, and add when she saw Miaka and Tamahome kiss, and that just pushed her over the edge until she finally believed it. And no wonder Suboshi went off the edge and killed Tamahome's entire family...Tamahome has been ruining his life. He supposedly killed his brother and took away the woman he loved...the poor guy. Then he gets killed by Tamahome and his family. It's really sad.
24. Yeah, I believe that no matter what, a book will always be a million times better than a movie, hands down, forever and always. I really do want to see that series. I have so many funny/romantic comedy series, I need something a little sad and depressing. I have Vampire Princess Miyu the TV series and it's sort of morbid, but not as morbid as the OVAs were. Of course, I only have the first volume, but Miyu already has a group of friends and that takes away from the darkness of the show..
25. Yeah, there's this family that I stay with on Saturday nights (Anna and kool_aid13's house..) and their mom doesn't let them watch stuff like that, but they do anyway, even their youngest brother and sister who are 12 and 9 years old. Their mom walked in the other night and their all like "We're not watching it, it's just a commercial" but I see the stuff that's on there and I'm like "WHOA...." I don't even know if I want to watch that stuff, you know? And when it says Adults only, that's just going to make kids want to watch it even more...they don't care if they're not supposed to...that's what makes it so interesting.
