I'd boo at it too...I never really got into the Macerena, and I thought that the people who did were a bunch of losers. Now we have the stupid ChaCha Slide...which is the most stupid "dance" I've ever witnessed in my life....Music has just been going downhill lately...

Oweki Flmac...that's what mine would be...and that is really weird, although I think Oweki is kind of cute...I wonder what race I'd be with a name like that... :therock: Oh yeah, and TN, porn star names are like this: The name of your pet is your first name, and the name of the road you live on or used to live on (whichever sounds better) is your last name. Mine is Hunny Foxhill. I like it... :D

Yeah, but that book was so awesome because it told of how Leia and Luke in the others all ended up where they were at the beginning of RotJ and so forth. You should like that novel at least, seeing as how it fits right in. I don't know, I just love anything that ties up a storyline and unravels mysteries for me. I like to read, too...I feel like such a nerd...*laughs* And just like I thought, but I wasn't really sure, the name of the novel that takes place one day after RotJ is called The Truce at Bakura. I've read it, but I don't remember what happens. And then comes The Courtship of Princess Leia where her and Han actually get married. And also, on the timeline I found, there is a comic called Shadows of the Empire that takes place six months after RotJ. But yeah, there ya go, hope that was some help to you.

Anime Anime Fans are isolated...Opinions?
Queen Asuka replied to sandramaxwell06's topic in Otaku Central
I know I'm a little late posting on this topic, but oh well....I don't really have that problem. Sure I get people who are all like "You're 17 and you still watch cartoons?" But I just laugh it off. The people who know me know how I am. And I have been sucessful in getting many of my friends into anime, so I'm always happy about that. I've only dated one guy who liked anime almost as much as I did, but things didn't work out because he was such a loser....I think you should date people who don't necessarily get into it as much as you and are willing to sit down and watch it with you, that way you'll have something to share with them. And I have no clue where in the world that comment came from. But yeah, I'm accepted for being an anime fan, people know me as that, and they wouldn't have me any other way. I also love it when people tell me I look like an anime girl...it makes me feel so special! ^_^ -
I saw E.Y.E.S of Mars on the Sci Fi channel way back in the day when they used to show Saturday Anime in the middle of the night. I would always get up at like 3 AM and watch them and sometimes I'd tape them. That one is one I wished I had taped. We don't have much of a selection of anime around here anymore. A few years ago Media Play used to carry a HUGE selection, but now it's not so big at all....and it's disappointing. I can never find any anime worth buying anymore. All anyone seems to care about is DBZ....It makes me very sad..

Well, he did have better facial expressions and so forth, but it was weird seeing him that way. I think that's the only time we'll ever see Yoda do anything like that, unless he does it again in Episode III. Yoda's so cute! Oh yeah, and it is so weird seeing all this Episode VII: Shadows of the Empire thing, because that was the name of the novel that came in between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I think it's sort of funny. And there is a book that comes directly after Episode VI, but I forget what it's called.
Originally posted by SSJ Gotenks ok I just finished seeing it and i taught it sucked i taught it was gonna be way better!!What happined to them did they get away???They didnt explain anything i can't believe that was the last episode!!!:(
I agree, the end wasn't all that great and they left too much unanswered. But it didn't suck...it was still the X-Files, and MULDER was on there at least! They did get away for the present time being, but that was not the end becuase they didn't resolve anything. Like I said earlier, they just unraveled the conspiracy and that was it. They finally put the puzzle together, but they didn't do anything yet to solve it. That's why I think there should be another season of episodes or at least another movie. That just CAN'T possibly be the last episode ever.

Anakin's killing spree is so much cooler in the novel. I highly recommend it to everyone. It goes so much more in depth and in detail. It's great. And I didn't like the fact that they didn't use the Yoda puppet at ALL...it was sad. And I HATE Jar Jar...he's so ugly and stupid and I hate the way he talks and he's part of the reason Episode I was such a stupid movie. Ugh, I just forgot everything I was going to say...Oh yeah, Padme's clothing wasn't that bad, but I do think that the white outfit was just eyecandy for the guys. But yeah, to each his own opinion I believe. I wasn't checking her out anyway because I was too captivated with Anakin's intense eyes...especially when he got all evil looking...he was so cute! :)

They always show lots of anime on the movies channels on Cox Digital Cable, especially on the Action Channel, which is part of the Encore network I believe if you have satellite. I used to have cable back in the day when we could sort of afford it...but now I don't even watch TV anymore, except for the occasionally episode of XFiles or Friends or something....but that is off subject... I have seen Angel Sanctuary, and that is the most awesome storyline. I love weird stuff like that, and that show was just beautiful. I know it is a manga mostly, but they made an OVA out of it. It was about this guy who was in love with his biological sister, and they didn't live together because the mother didn't trust him. But they end up running away together, but I'm not going to give anything away. I just HIGHLY recommend it.

I've never been to an actual concert where you bought tickets to get in, but I did see Days of the New live at a show. It was at the Street Party they have every year here during the Cherry Blossom Festival, and I went just so I could see them, and they were great. Then they broke up and went downhill. But I still have that wonderful first album.

Anakin was very cute and he had VERY beautiful eyes, especially when he got all EVIL looking...I loved it. I just wanted to squeeze him to death. I bought a bag of plain nasty chips the other day just because he was on the bag instead of buying the ones with Yoda. SEE how he influences stuff? And yeah, I heard about everyone liking the white outfit. It was because she didn't have anything on under it and you could see her nipples. End of discussion.

Well, I'm not a guy, but just hearing other guys reactions, they say that YES she is. But she did look beautiful. I hated her Queen get up she had to wear in Episode I. My favorite outfit she had was when they were in the field with the flowers. It was so pretty....*sniffles* And she had Anakin...and he was pretty, too...
Originally posted by Mist No it was some freak trying to potray a sorry excuse for a sex symbol. It was very un-nerving. I think the Macerana was second.
NOPE...The Macerena or however you spell that dumb word was number 1. I'm pretty sure you can look up the entire list at vh1.com or something. *EDIT* Okay here, I looked it up, and here's the entire top ten. 10. 99 Luftballoons-Nena 9. Rico Suave-Gerardo 8. Take On Me- A-Ha 7. Ice Ice Baby-Vanilla Ice 6. Who Let the Dogs Out- Baha Men 5. Mickey-Toni Basil 4. Too Sexy- Right Said Fred 3. Come On Eileen- Dexy's Midnight Runners 2. Tainted Love- Soft Cell 1. The Macerena- Los Del Rio And there you have it. And yes, Baha Men were on here, even in the top ten. But the whole list is on Vh1.com, you just have to click on shows to find it. So yeah...
Originally posted by Boba Fett Actually, from a certain point of veiw, Lucas did remake the origional Star Wars movies. He released the special edition copies and they were accepted by fans(mostly).
Technically, he didn't REMAKE the movies. He just added some footage that was impossible then to have because of the lack of technology and just made the movies look BETTER. He just reVAMPED the movies. To remake them, like I think the question asked meant, would be to do it all over from the beginning, with new actors and new sets and new special effects and so forth. That's what I meant. And of course the Special Editions were accepted by fans...they were revamped editions of their favorite movies, and it's not like anything was edited out or changed REALLY. Of course, I like watching both versions, whatever I can get my hands on. The storyline will never change and that's what matters mostly. That's why I enjoy the novels so much. They're so much more in depth and so much better than a movie could ever show.

I really could just not imagine Piro or Anna listening to anything besides punk and just liking it more. It's just not them at all...it's so funny. I think Piro was a big influence on Anna and the music she listens to, as well. That's where she found out about MP3.com, and she used to practically live there...(and I think she still does...)

I just watched the last episode, and that just can't BE the last episode ever. They left so much unfinished. They only unraveled the conspiracy, but they never resolved it. If they don't resolve it with more episodes containing MULDER, then I'm going to be very very upset. They advertised the website www.thexfiles.com, so if anyone checks it out and sees what it says, let me know here somehow. But Mulder and Scully ALSO finally got together basically. And also, I never knew about Scully's baby...

I've seen a couple of those, but there are two that I want to comment on, which are Green Legend Ran and E.Y.E.S of Mars. I have GLR, and I saw both of them on Sci Fi, but that movie was so good. I loved the little silver haired maidens, they were just so beautiful. That movie was one of the first anime movies I ever saw when I was a child, and it left an impact on me...that's why I have that one. And EOM, it was just such an awesome concept. I loved the way they had to remove themselves from Mars and rebuild on Earth because they destroyed that planet that much. If you think about it, that could really have happened, and we just would never know...or maybe it's something that could happen one day...so yeah...

Do they ALL have to be DBZ videos? Aren't there some variety out there? I don't see you guys telling about hardly any others, and I want to know about more...not just DBZ...*sniffles*
Originally posted by Anna lol, lemme tell you about my experience; it was classic. We all went to see it, and there had been a storm hanging over everything pretty much the whole day. Well, we're sitting in the theater, and the movie starts. About a minute or two in to the opening credits, the power goes out. No joke. We were all looking at eachother like, 'you've got to be kidding'. After a while the power comes back on and the movie starts again. We sat in the very front row, were the emergency exits were because there wasn't room anywhere else. Well, throughout the movie at various intervals, the door would open............. completely on its own, and it'd stay open until the wind pushed it close again. Like I said there was a storm going on outside, so I'm guessing the emergency exit doors were made to be easy to open, and the wind currents were definately playing with that. But you just don't know how FREAKY that can be watching a movie like that, and at the most intense moments the door would open and the lights in the theater would flicker.... that was pretty cool.
HEY! And you guys REALLY wont believe this, but I was with her! Man, see, we never do anything without each other. We even went and seen Star Wars together last night. But anyway, for some reason, when the power went out, I called my mom on a cell phone, and then the movie came back on and I was talking really loudly and I thought I was going to get shot. I don't think that movie was all THAT great and it wasn't scary at all, even though I thought it was going to be. I liked it though, but it wasn't one of my favorites. I reminded me too much of the Sixth Sense.

When I went and saw Star Wars last night, they finally advertised the sequel to the Matrix, and it looked so awesome. Of course, the also advertised that it doesn't come out until 2003. Oh well, I can wait that long. :)

Well, let me say this: Most of those songs WERE on there. But I just thought of another song that was sort of a one hit wonder type thing...remember that band Monster Magnet and their song "Space Lord"? I know someone has to know what I'm talking about because how many people sing songs that say "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAA SPACE LORD MOTHER MOTHER!!!!" So yeah...I don't think they ever released another song...
-
Yeah, I finally got to see Episode 2. I have made a mistake though. I read the book before I went and saw the movie, so I found myself feeling a little disappointed because the novel was actually so much better. But I absolutely loved the movie. I don't know if you'd consider this spoilers, but oh well, don't read if you don't want to, but my favorite parts where whenever the played the Imperial March to foreshadow stuff that happens in the original SW movies. I couldn't get over that. And I also loved when they played the same music whenever Anakin and Padme were on Tatooine and it was the same music that they play when Luke is watching the sunset and stuff. I was like "Aww..." I almost died before I watched that movie. And I also realized it was the first time I had ever seen a SW movie in a theatre. It was a truly awesome experience. It was one of the highlights of my Saturday. What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the school year and becoming a SENIOR! *screams happily* OH YEAH...And I highly doubt that Lucas would remake the old SW movies because they're already popular enough and perfect just the way they are, and it wouldn't be the same without the original actors and no one would really like it anyway. There would be revolts and outrages probably, in my opinion.

Has anyone watched that special on VH1 about the 100 Greatest One Hit wonders? I think that is hilarious. I can't even think of which one I liked the best or anything. I think they're all hilarious. Like "Play that Funky White Boy", OMG that is hilarious. I always thought that Weezer was going to be a OHW until they came out with "HashPipe", the only good song by them besides "Buddy Holly." What do you guys think?
-
I just don't see what the big deal about going and seeing it on the first day is. The theatre is crowded and it's sort of annoying. And it's not like the movie is going anywhere anytime soon. I'm pretty sure SW will be out for a good while. I just can't believe that people actually will camp out just to get good seats...word...

I think it's funny whenever people spend all their money getting all the good property and they're about to go bankrupt but they just will NOT sell you the ONE piece of property you need, but then they end up going out, so the banker (hehe, me) gets to auction it off for whatever price I want...*laughs madly*
