Anime Wow... they're just like me!: Characters you identify with
Queen Asuka replied to Balinese's topic in Otaku Central
I always say this, but my anime counterpart is most definately Asuka Langley. She's very hot-headed, tempermental, and very passionate about what she believes in. She loves being the center of attention, can't stand to be told what to do, and always wants to be the leader in whatever scenario she finds herself in. I'd have to say that about sums me up, right there. She has this massive superiority complex where she thinks she's smarter, prettier, and better than everyone else. Well, as much as I hate to admit it, I find myself feeling that way a lot, too. Not to mention we look alike, especially when I used to have bangs. Oh well. I guess the only difference is that I have a loving family to back me up. *Shrugs* -

If I could live in an anime world, I guess it'd have to be that of Chobits. For one thing, I would hope to be a persocom so that I could have a nice assortment of clothing to wear. I mean, just look at Chi's wardrobe! How can you not be jealous? I guess another world I wouldn't mind living in is that of Magic Knight Rayearth. I'm all up for the fairy tale setting. ^_^

Chastity sat in a chair as her hair was quickly rearranged, hair-sprayed in all directions, somewhat resembling a huge sunburst. These people were masters of their art, having the ability to transform hair into anything imaginable. They reminded her of those clowns who could manipulate balloons into any animal or shape you could think of. She smiled to herself as her show make-up was being refreshed. Girls were running to and fro, half naked, as they changed into new outfits for their thirty seconds of fame on the runway. Chastity sat in a small white towel, waiting for her outfit to be brought to her. It was a strange red-orange dress, that looked as though it had been ripped to shreds at the skirt. It was amazing what these designers could put out that people would actually wear. She smiled, standing up and stretching. "Chastity, you're on in about a minute," someone called from her left. "Be ready in a sec," she said, slipping out of the towel and into the complicated dress. It was complete with some clear stilletto heels and a huge orange chunky bead necklace to compensate for the lowcut of the top of the dress. It was chifon, her favorite material of all. "Let's get this show on the road," she said to the girl going on right in front of her. About ten seconds later, she was strutting into the bright lights of the runway, swaying her hips, chin up, glaring seductively up at nothing in particular. She stopped at the edge, turned, posed, smiled slightly, scanned the crowd, and turned back, back towards the darkened room behind the curtains where it would start all over again. As she got to the backroom, she stepped behind a small curtain and removed the dress carefully, handing it off the a lady who was there ready to recieve it. When she handed it off and reached around, looking for her towel, she found herself looking into the eyes of an older woman, adorned in green, her long white hair flowing down past her waist, much like Chastity's did on any other day when it wasn't secured with at least a hundred different types of hair products into a sunburst. She smiled sweetly at Chastity. "Hon, we need to talk," she said, handing Chastity her towel. Chastity quickly covered herself, looking at the woman, puzzled.

Paris was drug out of her warm bed much too early that morning. Her hair was not perfect (but close enough...) and Tinkerbell was hiding behind her ankles, whining at the camera crew standing in front of her. "Wha...you make house calls now?" "No, Miss Hilton, you're going to a deserted island to be a part of Celebrity Survivor! Hurry up and grab your things and we'll be right on our way!" The man that was talking was much too chipper for her, but she walked into her large bathroom, slammed the door shut, and didn't emerge for a few hours. When the door did finally open again, Paris stood there completely refreshed. She was wearing a short skirt with tiny pleats, a white halter top, and her long blonde hair was straightened behind her. Her face had been caked in make-up, most especially the eyeliner. She was wearing very small heels, and it was everything the man and the camera crew could do not to laugh at her. Paris smiled seductively for the camera and gathered her things: Tinkerbell, a jumbo/economy sized bottle of tanning lotion, and a pretty new pair of heels, just in case. She walked out of the mansion, no one really seeing her go. She grabbed up her cell phone, but the man was quick to tell her otherwise. If looks could kill, he would have been dead right there. They made their way out the door where they were picked up by a large SUV. Paris stood there on the curb, slightly embarrassed. "Could we hurry up and just get this over with?" she said as she pushed her way into the vehicle roughly. After a short ride to the nearest airport, the crew made their way into a tiny aircraft, one that looked so shoddy that Paris highly doubted it would even lift off the ground. "We're going to a deserted island in that...?" she asked, holding Tinkerbell under her arm. "You're used to the simple life, aren't ya missy?" the man guffawed, as did most of the camera crew. Paris just rolled her eyes and stepped aboard, ready for whatever was awaiting her on the deserted isle. "I hope there are cute guys there," she thought, as the plane painfully lifted off.
Never said I was more enlightened, but to believe 100% that everything had to start some where is infact close minded....in fact it could be used to define the word. Anything else you want to bore me with?
The same could really be said about you. What if I say that to believe 100% that everyone just exists is close-minded? It can go either way, really.

Celebrity: Paris Hilton Picture: Three Items: Tinkerbell the Chihuahua, tanning lotion, a pair of glass heels perfect for the runway. Skills: Paris is especially talented in honing in on obscure bars and knows how to be the life of any party scene. She's also excellent in picking up men, no matter what their age or station in life. After all, she is a model/actress. What Usually Goes Through Your Head: "I know I look better than Nicky!" "There's the guy I'm going home with tonight." "What's Wal-Mart?" "I don't have anything to wear..." "If you can't see my crotch, it's not short enough." "Of course I didn't make those sex tapes!" "I need to call daddy and get some more money..." Bio: Heiress of the Hilton Empire, Paris has been born and raised in the lap of luxury. She is extremely beautiful, exquisitely sexy, and has a knack for being the life of the party. She is known to sport some interesting runway classics and is always seen by the side of her older sister, Nicky. She has a darling chihuahua, Tinkerbell, that draws even more attention to her (like she needed it, right?). She has already participated on a reality show, The Simple Life, and feels that she is well equipped for "going without." She's sure that as long as there are a few guys, she can always find a way to have fun. After all, she is very creative and has a flair for getting into trouble. Naughty Miss Paris.
then isn't your mind already in a rated r state? If you can imagine- then whats the harm of viewing it on screen? If you couldn't already tell- I'm a Southern Baptist (Christian). Big suprise eh? lol
I would say my mind is in an R-rated state, but it's not because of that. I think it's because of all the crap that I have to live with and see in my daily life because of what this world has become and how crappy society is. I would say that church is a safehaven, a protective place, and when I am immersed in my scriptures or praying and pondering, I can forget about all of that. I don't understand Southern Baptist. They dominate the region where I live, but what's the difference in Southern Baptist and just Baptist? And as for the Mormon questions, those have pretty much been answered, I suppose. I know Amibasuki knows what she's talking about. ^_^
James Goodwin, I appreciate the fact that you're trying to help, but this thread just wasn't destined for a long and healthy life. There's little reason to needlessly elongate sub-par topics.
Also, James Goodwin, we really don't need you to play as moderator. I'm sure that the three of us are quite capable of doing our jobs. All you have to do is report the thread instead of posting in it, which is considered spamming. *QA*

I think the most unusual thing that I can think of off the top of my head is duck. I tried it this past summer and it was disgusting. It was in little strips and looked alot like french toast sticks. It tasted kind of like that, as well. I didn't really enjoy it. I've also tasted seaweed. THAT tastes and smells exactly like fish food...

Whoo, what fun. I'm a Mormon aka Latter-Day Saint. Yeah, I'm sure you've heard of us and all of the "supposed" things we believe in, and I'm VERY happy to be a Mormon. I really don't think I'm going to watch the Passion, just as a personal decision. For one thing, we're counseled not to watch rated R movies, and for another thing I don't need to see a movie about Christ to strengthen my testimony of him. I'm already well aware of his sacrifice, his sufferings, and what it means for me.
I've been reading it. It's set at the start of the Taisho era (1923). Another girl with an unhappy home life (Takiko), the beginning(?) of the Book of the Four Gods. Genbu is a different god; she is in a different kingdom. The beginning at least is as interesting as the beginning of Fushigi Yuugi. It's really well drawn.
Is this being sold in stores? Because I think this is something that I would most definately be interested in picking up. Watching the series, I was always so fascinated with the Priestess of Genbu, especially since her past was shrouded in mystery. All of her Celestial Warriors were passed and gone, and so it always appealed to me to know. She is also one who fell in love with one of her warriors, right? Maybe I'm getting her mixed up with the other Priestess, seeing as how I haven't watched the series in a long while. I think I should carry all of my videos home and watch them over Spring Break...

Okay, so let's discuss last night's episode. Ryan and Teresa. Okay, so I guess it's neat that they are getting together and it seems like they really like each other (even though she appears to have left at the end of the episode). I also like that her and Marissa seem to be getting along and that Marissa is doing everything she can to help out with their relationship since she seems to realize that she can't just have Ryan whenever she wants him. The whole Eddie thing is annoying, though. But I absolutely do not blame him for wanting to stick with her girl. After all, his did propose to him. Seth and Anna. I really am angry that she left. I wanted him to tell her that he loved her and that she loved him. But instead, she only loved him as a friend. At least Summer let him go, though. I think she knows that him and Anna are only the best of friends and that they weren't meant to be as a couple (even though I think they are...). Luke and Julie Cooper. I am so glad they finally get caught in the next episode. Okay, so, now we have to wait three weeks to see exactly what happens. Thanks, Fox!

I am going to close this thread before the spam starts flying. It's one thing to ask a question such as this, but it's another thing to ask it in the appropriate way. How about ask who you would want to spend a day with and WHY and then perhaps put who you would like to spend your day with, you know? It would make us OtakuBoards Moderators MUCHO happy if you would just read our rules and follow them kindly. Thread Closed.
My lovely Lillymon, of course. C'mon, Devidramon. I know that you're an intelligent person, and you generally have awesome post quality... this reply just needs to be more detailed. Merci beaucoup. ~Dagger~
Dagger was much too lenient, especially if you know better. This type of spam is definately to be deleted.

I'm a romantic sap, so I always prefer the happier endings. My favorite ending was that of Chobits. It wasn't anything unexpected, but it was just so sweet and innocent, not at all what you would have expected when first starting the series and learning of Hideki's perverted antics. I also loved the ending to Fushigi Yugi, even though they followed up with the OVA series. Now don't get me wrong, just because it doesn't have a happy ending doesn't mean that I don't like it: take Evangelion for example. I wouldn't exactly call that happy, but I would say that the series is an absolute classic. ^_^
I had to go through hell with Max 300 and Afronova, as I was too stupid or worried about credability to lower my level to light mode for the songs, and did horribly. It was quite the embarrasing experience, and I have not played in public since.
I've made this mistake before, but I always let the good people pick harder songs so that I could attempt them without failing. That was the way that I learned before I got to play it at home on the Playstation. As for Afronova, the Standard Mode version of the song is just as easy as the Light Mode version. I was disappointed. But it is still my second favorite song. ^_^

Well, outside of the internet, I'm the crazy girl who loves to make people laugh and makes absurb comments to see how people will react. I'm never afraid to voice my opinion and I hate to be a follower...I always try to take the reigns in everything that I do. I'm very passionate and well, I think it bleeds over into my online life as well. I don't think people really see that same crazy girl, but I know that she's here inside me and sometimes it's hard to express yourself through words only. In high school, I was sort of "middle grounds." I wasn't "popular" but everyone knew who I was. I was the captain of the dance team for crying out loud. I was friends with so many different types of people and I enjoyed having a variety of friends. Of course I had my little "group," but I think just about everyone does, really. On here, well, I can't deny what I perceive. I'm the Queen for crying out loud. I guess people respect me because I'm a mod and a generally nice person, but when I joined the OB I was accepted immediately by lots of people and became known as the "Queen," long before ever gaining my position. I wonder how others perceive me? It's always a curious thought.

Anime Yu-Gi-Oh: Card Releases and Rule Changes
Queen Asuka replied to DeathBug's topic in Otaku Central
For anyone that likes Yu-Gi-Oh that's a pretty okay thing I guess. And let's see, I have Yu-Gi-Oh volumes 1 through 4...... so.... Hopefully, other characters will communicate with mine. I'm really getting tired of that not happening... Name: Chastity Butler Age: 20 Sign: Taurus-Venus Element: Earth Special Powers: Because she is very agile and limber, she is skilled in gymnastics and tumbling of all sorts. Her trademark moves are those that involve ground-shaking, but mostly her art comes from speed. Her special, the Fairy Dance, is a graceful dance sequence to confuses the enemy. Description: Very tall for a female, about 5'11". Long slender legs and long flowing blonde hair. She has pale green eyes and very full lips. She loves to wear revealing and trendy clothing, straight off the runway. Personality: Very passionate and stubborn, she always likes to take the lead in whatever she does. She has a very domineering personality and is very well respected by those around her. She's very generous and has a big heart. Biogrpahy: Chastity was born in London to a very beautiful retired model. Her father was a famous actor with his trophy supermodel wife, and Chastity couldn't help be caught up in the midst of it. The middle of three children, she takes on the appearance of her mother whereas her sisters look alot like their father. Not only did she inheret her mothers drop-dead gorgeous features, she also inhereted her runway prowess. Chastity is a very accomplished model who loves displaying the latest in trends and fashion. She is also working on her own clothing line and is becoming very sucessful very quick. Others: Chastity has only had one boyfriend, and he was a famous athlete. After her broke her heart, she vowed that she would only fall for those who were inconspicous to the real world. She wanted someone from humble origins who wouldn't be plastered all over the media.

1. What was the first anime movie, series or OVA you ever watched? This is actually a pretty hard question. I remember watching Thundercats when I was a kid, but what really got me hooked was Sci-Fi Channel's Anime Week every summer and their Saturday anime movies. I saw so many different movies, most particularly Akira and Green Legend Ran that had me hooked from about the age of six or so. The first series that I got super hardcore about was Sailor Moon when I was in elementary school. Me and my cousin became ultra super obsessed and pretty much abandoned Street Fighter, Super Mario, Zelda, and Power Rangers to become Sailor Scouts. 2. Do you feel that time has made you more picky about the titles which you like and/or choose to buy? Of course. I never BOUGHT any anime until about seventh grade or so when I started picking up Ranma 1/2, Fushigi Yugi, and Ah My Goddess. I then started buying Nadesico and random other series just to get a taste of different things. I didn't buy anything that came on TV because I just recorded it, especially when we had the action channel and they showed a ton of good anime on there. I borrowed most everything that I ever saw, or else I wouldn't have been able to see as much as I have. I can't afford anime anymore. Time has made my buying fade. The interest is still there, but now I'm more of a manga person. 3. If you had watched some of your current favorite shows when you first got into anime, would you have been able to appreciate them as much as you do now? I do not appreciate dubbing. I always hated the Sailor Moon dubbing and I didn't realize how much I hated the Ranma dubbing until I sat down and watched the Desperately Seeking Shampoo OVA today. It was disgusting.
*mumbles* Crazy kids...how can you be playing videogames when sleep is so good[/b']?
