Well, it's kind of silly really. Back when Anna and I were big nerds (wait, we still are...) in about tenth grade, we started watching Evangelion, the best anime series in the entire world. Well, she was Misato (because she looked like her VERY MUCH SO...it's weird...) and I was Asuka (because I look like her...not as very much so now that I don't have bangs...). Well one day we planned to take over the world and I was going to be Queen of the World and she was going to be Empress of the World. We used to always argue about which was better: Queen or Empress. We started calling each other Queen Asuka and Empress Misato in the letters we wrote back and forth to each other during school. I used to practically live at her house, and I saw that she was a member of this strange "OtakuBoards." In my newbie stupor I decided to use my nickname "Queen Asuka." And yes, I have become the true Queen and idolized and all that jazz. And it's very fun. And I love being the Queen of Plushies. ^_^ And people seem to like me and call me "Highness," so I guess there's a big plus there, too. ^_^

Well, I think this thread has run it's course. Besides, there is already an InuYasha thread where discussion towards the series should be directed. I hope this answers your question and welcome to the OB! Thread Closed.
Originally posted by Baron Samedi Actually as I was typing that I had second thoughts.. but It is already prepared for you, whereas with painting or scuplting you have to make your piece from the ground up.
That is not necessarily true. The lighting has to be right, the grounding firm and steady, and many many other factors come into play. It's not as simple as just focusing the lens and snapping a button. Ryan and I actually visited an exhibit of some really gorgeous photos taken by a man named Clyde Butcher, I believe. Take a look at some of his stuff and you'll see what I mean.
Originally posted by Baron Samedi Photos can be art, yet take little effort. Almost anything can be considered art I feel.
And I'm sure you're "biatch" who's in college to become a professional photographer would really appreciate that rude comment. AND OH MY GOSH! This is the argument of the century! There is not ANYTHING that makes me more angry than when me and Ryan get in the argument about what is art. He claims that it is only a work of art if it has "meaning." I think that is complete and total bull. I have been doing "art" all of my life: I draw, paint, color, etc. But it doesn't necessarily have some odd abstract meaning to it. It is just me expressing myself through a creative outlet. But because it doesn't have a "meaning," then it's supposed not art. Give me a break! I HATE how these supposed "artsy" people over-interpret EVERYTHING! Spatter some paint on a canvas and it means "happy!" Well excuse me for not generating the artwork of a 3-year old. There are so many other things that I could say, but just thinking about it is getting me really irked. Oh well...what do you think?

Well, it's really hard to pick out my favorite color, but I'll give it a shot. It should be extremely obvious, but my favorite color is pink. No, liking pink does not make me a prep, or necessarily junk me as "girly," but pink is a very nice color. It is a color associated with love, happiness, freshness, the sprinkles on really good Wal-Mart cookies, hearts and flowers, the color of someone's cheeks when they are slightly embarrassed, the color of Tori. It is the essense of me. I also enjoy MANY other colors, and believe it or not, white is an especially refreshing color. It's so clean and crisp, and it just makes me happy to see it. Okay, well I tried to salvage this thread before it was closed.

O_o; Where is she going?! She was my partner in crime! My polar opposite! The shadow to my blinding white light! Wow, that's a shocker right there. I'm tired of all my OB friends leaving me, especially after me and her JUST became friends. >.< Well, I will miss you. I'm sure you'll be back someday. But of course, I can't let you leave until I know why. So yes, I demand to know why. *Places her hands on her hips and frowns*

I read almost the entire manga series, but never got to pick up the last two or so. I guess I need to so that I can finally see what happens at the end of the series... The manga was good, but it just got SO repetitive. Sure, it added new ideas and gave a plot twist here and there, but you could almost always predict what was going to happen between Keitaro and Naru. And in the manga the characters were well-developed, so that made me happy. The anime I didn't like as much. Alot of stuff was changed (as usual) and it just didn't give me the same "fluffy" feeling. And even though it was the real deal, it just wasn't as funny to me. I don't know, maybe I just tend to prefer the raw manga over the anime. *Shrugs* But the opener was really addictive.

I read the first volume of the manga and despite it being a CLAMP series, it didn't really impress me. Maybe it was the fact that the lead "angel" wasn't really male OR female and that she/he wasn't that cute. I don't know, there's just something about attractive characters that really appeal to me...

I used to watch CCS when it came on the WB, but it was so slaughtered that I sacrificed the money and went out and bought the first three volumes of the series subbed and uncut. It was very nice, but all the good episodes were later on and I quit buying the videos and yeah... I really LOVE Sakura's friend. Tomoyko? Is that her name? It's been such a long time. She's so adorable and she's got the silliest schoolgirl crush on Sakura. It's precious. My favorite cards were the Light and the Dark. I did some really nifty fanart a while back that I should scan. It's some of my favorite pieces of art that I've ever done.

Online Relationships, and Impact therof
Queen Asuka replied to Drix D'Zanth's topic in General Discussion
Wow, a very interesting thread, indeed. I must say that I have developed a handful of especially good friendships by spending time online, especially here on the OtakuBoards. But the ones that I trust and wouldn't mind meeting in person are the ones that I have talked to for a long time, have read about their lives, have talked to them about their problems, and have related to them on some level. When you get a phone call and snail nail from me, then you should consider yourself something special. Now in my opinion the people who are lied to and kidnapped and all of those insane things are the ones who set themselves up for it. They go into the world of the interenet NOT to make friends, but to flirt, "cyber," and have some kind of "sexual good time." And that's how it has always came across to me. To actually find some decent people to talk to was pretty difficult for me way back when. Want to hear a story? My sister was "in love" with some guy from North Carolina a few years ago. She talked to him on the phone all the time. She actually tried to run away and go and meet him, but luckily me and my parents caught her before she made it up the road (it was about 2 am when she left). That was when we found out where he lived, and after she had ran up an $800 phone bill that my parents still are trying to pay off. She was only about 14. See what happens? I actually had to nice opportunity to meet Juuthena this summer on my trip to Oregon/California. It was sort of surreal to meet her in person, but then again, she was just exactly as I had always percieved her to be. Because of that great experience, I can't wait to meet others that are also close to me. As for relationships (with dating and such), I had a pretty bad experience about three years ago. I think it's only going to work out if the people can actually be there with one another. If you truly have feelings for the person, then if it is in your power, you can make it work no matter what. But I think it's only safe to have one of these relationships if you are legally an adult and can therefore have the means to meet this potential "mate." Otherwise, if you're 14 and you wont be able to meet this person until you're 18, then it just seems kind of fruitless...I would say to go and find someone who is there for you right now. Now I will admit, it's easier to talk to people via the internet than in person. It's so much easier to let your feelings flow and not have the restriction of someone seeing you embarrassed. And that is why I think friendships work. And eventually the liars will come out because the will feel so guilty. Just look at Justin. :p -
Originally posted by RogueA007 Jaleel White *cough Urkel from Family Matters*cough* had that high pitched and bragging voice I would expect a spiny, yet cute pincushion to have. Not an idiot with a weird accent that screams "Brit wannabe" like in the ADV OAV dubs or this guy who I consider to be overdoing the ego of Sonic a tad too much...
I'd have to agree with you there. It seems that most anime dubbs are so silly because they have the same exact cast of voice actors for almost every anime they bring over to America and so the voices are very recycled and usually don't fit the character very well. Me and my sisters used to be obsessed with the old Sonic cartoons. That was way back when, though. Now we just get crap on Saturday mornings like "Ultimate Muscle."
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Robotnik was the US name for the character. Dr. Eggman was the Japanese name for the character. When Sonic Adventure came out for the Dreamcast, Sega decided to just universalize the name and go with Eggman. It's the same reason Princess Toadstool is now called Princess Peach here.
Ah, that makes perfect sense. I knew there was something to it, something that I didn't quite understand. I never got the whole Peach/Toadstool thing either, but oh well. ^_^

When do you think is the right time for sex?
Originally posted by Sephiroth Yeah, I thought I made a thread on this? Now they are both married and I have two nephews, but they are too darling. My cousin, younger than me, just had a little girl the other day. I'm actually the chainbreaker. Anime Are Movies Of Series Better Than The Original?
Queen Asuka replied to ElrickOtaku's topic in Otaku Central
I don't think they necessarily surpass, just glorify and add on to what the original series has already developed, if that makes any sense.
