Valentine glided into the dressing room where the rest of the dancers were still getting ready. She caught snaps of conversations about the goings on of the day and she heard one red-head, Elayne, mention something about going to a party tonight. "Did you say something about a party, Elayne?" Valentine asked curiously. Elayne turned towards her, her ringlets of red bouncing a bit as she smiled. "Yeah, the one tonight. Are you going, Valentine?" Valentine just shrugged. "Eh, I'm thinking about it. Maybe I'll meet a potential date for prom?" The girls all giggle a bit, locking their things away (if you didn't, you'd never see them again) and then making their way out to the floor. Valentine carried their large boom box and their case of CDs. She saw Julia sitting up in the bleachers and beckoned her to come down. "We're just warming up for now, you know, a bit of stretching and so forth. I think Elayne here is going to the party, too," Valentine motioned towards Elayne. Julia nodded towards her. "I'll probably go," Valentine continued. "It'll give me a good excuse to get out of the house and dress up for a change." "Like you aren't dressed up every day anyway," laughed one of the dancers, an underclassmen named Sherri. Valentine smiled at her, laughing herself. "True, very true." After warming up, Julia took a seat close to the floor, and Valentine put in their CD for the intial run through. Practice was only an hour long today, and they already had much of the fine tweaking down. Their competition was two Saturdays from this one and the team worked hard so that they wouldn't break their Grand Champion record. The music started: a mix of hip hop, pop, hard rock, and pumping techno. Turns, leaps, kicks, axles, the girls moved in sync with one another, gliding gracefully along the floor, yet moving their bodies with great attitude and sex appeal. Julia had never really watched the dance team, but seeing this, and knowing that dance is most definitely an art, she found herself appreciating the girls moves gratefully. After the hour, the girls all sweating and breathing hard, Valentine called practice to an end. "See you all tomorrow, girls!" she said, meeting up with Julia. -
She was heard before she had made it to the large closed door. Arianna's wooden heeled boots echoed loudly, announcing her arrival. Lelia turned to face the doorway as Arianna made her way inside, not bothering to knock. She smiled serenely, her head held up high. She was chock full of confidence. She let her gaze sweep the room slowly, still smiling, until she let her burning blue eyes fall onto the beautiful figure that was Lelia. "Good evening, Arianna dear," Adam said, the corners of his lips curving up into a slight grin. Arianna didn't say anything; she was too busy taking in Lelia. Yes, Lelia was very beautiful...dark hair, olive skin, perfect body. She was dressed in sleek black, with stiletto boots to match. Yes, Lelia was perfect. She's perfect competition, thought Arianna, her smile finally returning. "Arianna, this is Lelia Angelo; Lelia, Arianna Love." The two nodded respectfully at one another, but the tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife. Lelia inspected Arianna carefully as well. Her grace was apparent, as grace she must have to be in the field of work she was in. That is, if she was any good. Lelia smiled smugly to herself, looking Arianna up and down: tight white pants (how could she possibly fight in those?), a pale blue halter, black boots, auburn hair falling softly around her shoulders. Adam finally spoke up again. "Arianna, love," he paused to chuckle slightly at his play on words, "Lelia here is my closest associate. I've called you both here tonight so that we can initiate you," he finished. Arianna still held her head high. "Ah yes, you told me about this..." Arianna finally spoke, her voice coming out in a slow, seductive tone. "And how exactly do we go about doing this?" Adam didn't have to answer: Lelia had pulled a pair of blue-handled scissors from no where, the same shade of blue as the top Arianna wore, and dove straight towards her. Moving quickly, Arianna twirled to miss the jab, pulling out her chain whip. "Oh, so this is how we go about doing this..." she said, a smile lingering on her crimson lips.

That would be Mihoshi. And there's really nothing wrong with them all having bangs. Heck, I used to have bangs. I think that anime bangs are precious. And they're much easier to draw than those who lack. ^_^

Valentine looked up from her homework as Julia approached her and asked for a seat. "Please, help yourself," said Valentine, smiling widely. Julia was in her Calculus class and she had that very particular book under arm. "I'm trying to figure out this related rates junk..." she continued. "Oh yeah, me too. Let's work together then," she said, sitting down and opening her book and notebook. The two of them began talking quietly to themselves, and Julia noticed that Valentine was not exactly concentrating on Calculus. "Hey Valentine, what are you thinking about? You seem a bit down today," she said. Valentine just looked at her, gazing off out the window into the blue sky beyond. "I don't know...just tired of working my butt off her at school...Look, everyone else is pretty much gone and here we are, hanging around." Julia smiled a bit as Valentine closed her Calculus book. "Well, I have dance practice anyway at 4. Are you doing anything in the Drama Department today?" Valentine asked her. "Not really," she said, "It's pretty much downtime." The two stuffed their books into their bags, Valentine into her pink Jansport and Julia into her tote. "If you want, you can come hang out and watch us practice," Valentine offered her. Julia smiled. "Maybe I will." The two made their way down to the gym: a very small, dank, sweltering, and not well lit building. The school was too poor to afford a real dance studio with mirrors for the girls, so they just shoved them into the disgusting gymnasium that not even the Athletics department wanted to use. "So, have you heard about that party tonight?" Valentine asked Julia. -
Okay, this is just something that's been bothering me since the censor lift on the Adventure Arena. Okay, I'm see alot of 16+, 18+, and R-rated RPGs getting started, alot of them containing violence, sex, etc. What bothers me is that alot of these RPGs are started by people who are only 12-14, some probably younger than that. This is REALLY bothering me. Of course, if you made a restriction on it, some people might start lying about their age and such, but I really am bothered by these seemingly 12-year olds in their RPGs doing the sex and violence thing. Maybe they are desensitized and that is the way of the world nowadays, but I'm thinking perhaps the Adventure Arena moderators should put some sort of check on that and restrict it a bit. Maybe it's just me or has anyone else thought the same thing?

I live in Georgia, and I was born and raised here. I am currently attended college here at the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens. My parents live in Macon. I love living here in Georgia. And I think there are quite a few OBers from here if I'm not mistaken. ^_^

Valentine sat at her locker for a moment after Tex life. It was nice to actually have someone friendly to talk to. Despite how popular she was, she really didn't have any close friends. No one she could confide in, no one should could rely on. Oh well. The student body was her closest friend apparently, followed closely by her studying. She pulled her Calculus book out of her locker and then closed it gently. She made her way down the hall, quietly slipping into the library. The old librarian smiled at her and she returned the smile, giving a slight wave in his direction. She sat down at a relatively empty table, opening her book to the section on Related Rates. The library wasn't exactly an ideal place with all the idiots who flocked to it, but it was the only place in the school where at least they tried to be quiet about making out. She really didn't care too much for the way the girls flaunted themselves as if they would have sex with anyone willing, but what could she do? Her parents couldn't afford private school and besides, she was almost out of here anyway. Party at 8? She wondered if she would go. Who would be there and what would the atmosphere be like? She just opened her notebook and began doing her homework. -
I have a few of the Teeny Beanies from McDonald's. They are in my basket of stuffed animals that I brought here to college from home. When I was moving into my apartment a lady saw me carrying my basket in. She said "Bring all the essentials?" and I said "I couldn't leave home without 'em. " ^_^ I bid on a Flip the Cat from Ebay. The shipping was $4.00 (ridiculous...), but the beanie is only $1.00 as of now. ^_^ So yes, I may have her soon! And then my collection will be complete! (I think...) And Kenneth, they're not worth anything anymore, I don't think...
-
Flip the cat is my absolute favorite one, and one that I don't have. He's a solid white one, that looks like the rest in the series. I knew that I was forgetting one...and now that I see it, I'm about to go make a tour of Ebay, heh. And Jenna, I got Happy the Hippo for my birthday, too! My cousin gave it to me. Isn't that neat? Of the older ones I have Tiny the Chihuahua, Tuffy the Terrier, Pugsley, and some others. And then I have Princess [the Princess Diana bear], the pink Sherbet bear, Fancy the new white kitty, and some others that have left my mind as of now... Alot of mine have tag protectors. Some don't have tags, though, which is sad on my part. I also collect the Beanie Buddies, which are the big stuffed animal ones. I have Angelina and Cheery the bear. I want the Sakura bear that's circulating right now. Flip the kitty! ^_^ And I can't believe they were only worth that price, lol. Oh well, $5 is still good enough for me. ^_^
-
Ooh! I want the handbook that says how much they were worth...How much was the series of cats worth? I have Nip, Zip, Chip, Snip, Prance, and Pounce. ^_^
-
Well, this is definitely a nice reflection on times of old, heh. ^_^ When I was in middle school, my mom bought me my first TY Beanie Baby, Nip the Cat. I was so EXCITED! After that, I found out that there were more in the cat series and I wanted them all badly. My mom would go out and buy a new one when she could. This was back when the retired Beanie Babies were worth LOTS of money. Some were worth HUNDREDS of dollars, all for a little stuffed animal that costs $6. I had a close friend whose mom collected a BUNCH of them. She had a ton of the retired ones. It was neat. But I was so obsessed with my Nip. In the 6th grade, I tied a leash around his neck, stuck him on a piece of paper on the ground, and pulled him around. In 7th grade, my best friend got the female, Snip, and we had a wedding for them, all of our friends bringing their own Ty Beanie Babies. It was pretty cute...heh. Now I still have Nip. He's in pretty bad condition, though. His whiskers are gone, his tag (both) are long gone, he's not soft but fuzzy, and his eye is scratched up. Once his tail fell off and alot of his beans fell out. YESTERDAY, a friend of mine gave me his entire collection of all the beanie cats. I already had four out of the six, but one of them was Nip. And his nip, despite his heart-shaped tag being missing, was in almost mint condition. It warmed my heart...heh. I still collect these precious Ty Beanie Babies. I wont even buy other brands, I'm so weird like that. So does anyone else besides me collect? His name is Nipper, but we call him Nip His best friend is a black cat named Zip Nip likes to run in races for fun He runs so fast he's always number one!

My parents would have NEVER let us get away with anything like that. I'm 18 years old and I don't even live at home anymore and I would NEVER cuss in front of my mother. I have a cousin who was much like that. She cussed at her parents and when she did wrong, her mom just sort of gave up. She got worse and worse as we got older: doing drugs, running away from home, etc. Now she's 17 and due in January. Yes, she's having a baby. I'm telling you, your parents better start paying that child some attention and doing something about it, or it's going to be even harder when he gets older.
Originally posted by Artemis There are moments when I strongly "dislike" my almost 16-year old sister, but deep down, I love her more than life. I would never anything happen to her. Unfortunately, she is the cause of nearly every conflict in our house. As the second oldest daughter, she feels inferior to me and thinks our mom picks on her and doesn't understand her. We all do our best to understand and love her, but she tends to be an extremely selfish person (at home, at least). She's only nice to us when she wants to something. She's been going to counseling, but it hasn't helped much. Somehow, she's very dissatisfied with everyone at home and every pain she feels from the rest of the world is taken out on us--those who love her most. It's really a very sad, extreme situation. I would never ask to get rid of any of my 9 siblings. Though (not counting the affore mentioned sister) there are little fights here and there, we all get along pretty well. You're never lonely in a family this size!
My 16 year old sister is the same way, but she's not bad enough that she has to go to counseling. But she does think that my mom loves me more than her and that my dad hates her. I keep telling her that she will realize how wrong she is when she gets older. She's the middle child of my mother's children (we have two older half-sisters) and so we call it middle-child syndrome. And it's normal. She's a lot more mature now than she has ever been. I love her dearly. Nine siblings, huh? So that makes ten? I am so jealous. I have four sisters and I thought that was a big family. And I LOVED having alot of sisters. I want to have alot of kids so that maybe they will have close relationships like I had to my sisters. Ten kids...I always said I would have ten kids. ^_^

Valentine was disgusted with the condition that this high school was in. Fights constantly, people skipping, the promiscuity...she sighed deeply and made her way out of the counselor's office, hearing people in the hallways whisper excitedly about the apparent fights that had just happened. She held her college and scholarship applications in hand, ready to get out of this hellhole. "Thanks again for the help, Mrs. Morgan," Valentine said to the counselor. "No problem, Miss Valentine. When you finish filling those out, just bring them back by here." Valentine smiled and gave a small wave, going over to her locker. As she went, lots of people smiled at her and waved. She felt a twinge of guilt. Everyone here seemed to know her, but she felt like she didn't know a soul. She was considered the "Queen" of the school, afterall. She frowned, unlocking her locker and looking at the mass of books inside. "Why do I torture myself with such a difficult curriculum," she said, rubbing her hands on her tight red pants. She looked around the halls, seeing someone that looked oddly familiar. "Hey Valentine!" they called out, making their way over to where she was standing. OOC: Alright, I need someone to meet up with me and just add me to the story. I have done what I can without forcing myself onto others, heh. -
Well MillieFan, the discussion is still decent and new people are coming in everyday to talk about it. I think that it's better to just let this thread live on instead of creating a new one every few weeks. Everyone's being pretty respectful and spam is pretty much limited. So yes, it is immortal, but let it be. ^_^

Heh, I can tell you I wasn't be rude. I was just WAITING for you to respond to that. *laughs* Also something I wanted to comment about, I just think it's so funny that the first thing you said had to do with Muslims and Christians not getting along. That sickens me. I can get along with anyone, I don't care what religion they are. Maybe YOU as a Christian can't get along with them, but don't just lump all of Christianity into that sick stereotype.

I see you did some things to this one after you showed it to me because I don't remember it looking that beautiful... I truly enjoy your banners. I like them small and simple. I think it's about time for me to retire the one I'm using, even though it's very lovely.

Mitch, the last thing I want to hear about is your penis. Now, as for the topic at hand, if it was me in that situation, I wouldn't call him. I didn't know him, had never seen him before, never talked to him. That would freak me out. Maybe if he came in more often, had some small talk, and was friendly, perhaps that would be different. Maybe I'm just paranoid and I don't trust people? *Shrugs* It's one thing to meet someone at a social gathering and then perhaps get together again later. But this is just weird...

Me and my sisters have watched a few episodes of Excel Saga and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I think we got ourselves pretty pepped up to watch it because on one of our other DVDs, there was a preview for it, and I swear, we watched that preview over and over and over and just DIED laughing. Man, that show is so funny! ^_^

Does everyone have to be a badass? Name: Valentine Age: 18 Gender: Female Grade: Senior, baby! Appearance: 5'4", voluptuous, slim, graceful. She loves to show off her slender hips and perfect abs by wearing lots of mini-skirts and crop tops. Her favorite outfit is her pink pleated mini-skirt and her white collared cut off. Her navel is pierced and she has pink flower jewelry. Long blonde hair with white-blonde highlights and flashing blue eyes. Thigh-high white socks are a must, along with her black heeled mary-jane styled shoes. Personality: Outgoing and optimistic, she tends to make friends very easily and is rarely seen alone. She is the queen of the high school, crowned at Homecoming and most likely at Prom. She goes out on a limb to give back to the community and most of her peers love her. Her personal life is a bit of a mystery, making her very attractive to the guys around her. Misc: She is the captain of the school's infamous dance line who brings home the Grand Champion trophy every year, so she is very dedicated. That also means she can move her body in any sort of fashion. -
I really like the last one. Ah My Goddess is a great series, and I have always had a thing for the darling Belldandy. Make sure you watch the TV series and not just the movie!

I haven't listened to the new album all the way through yet, but I am a BIG fan of the band. I have the first album, which is absolutely brilliant and has some of the most beautiful songs ever written on it. I would say that I like it much better than what I've heard from Thirteenth Step, so if you are a big listener, pick it up. And you too, Mitch. Stop it with all that "they are decent" nonsense. *Pokes him with her Plushiewand*
