I've read just about the entire manga series and I really enjoyed it. I didn't know the anime was coming out. But I do recommend it, especially if you are into fantasy/mythology. There are LOTS of mythological references.

Anime Somebody's suing Cartoon Network (FLCL related)
Queen Asuka replied to Senor Ding Dong's topic in Otaku Central
Originally posted by Dogfish Oh come one, just get over that argument.
No, my point there was just that people can't compare South Park to things being shown on Cartoon Network. It is two completely different things. -
Originally posted by Tog I really love the manga a lot more than the anime. The anime just gets on my nerves a bit. Like that beach episode... Urgh.
I haven't seen that episode yet. It's the first episode of the fourth DVD, which comes out tomorrow. Which I should be getting this weekend (HOPEFULLY). But I know what to look forward to if it's that annoying, lol. I wonder if there's a reason that they tend to play it down a bit in the anime series?

Heh, get me in, and I'll go. I live pretty close to Atlanta now and I've never been to a convention. How much does it costs? I'm seriously thinking about it if you give me the info.

Anime Cowboy Bebop question - anyone know lyrics to 23 Hanashi?
Queen Asuka replied to tattoi nobori's topic in Otaku Central
Well, I'm pretty sure that's the extend that this thread will go discussion wise. Thread Closed. -
Well, we've already had a TON of Trigun threads, but I guess we haven't had one to discuss the general show in a while. As long as you keep it spam free, I'll let this live for a short while. *Shrugs*

Yeah, I have this movie. I have only watched it one time and it was alright. It was a bit on the freaky side, from what I can remember. But I do remember that I liked it. Except for the VERY explicit sex scene right there at the beginning of the movie. But it was so freaky!

I never let it affect my grades, but I did get to where I would spend all the money I had on anime. And then I would be broke for a long time. Then I actually cleaned up the house for money. Wait, isn't that a good thing? Ah well... I still splurge every now and then. Especially with my Chobits stuff. But I don't do it NEARLY as often as I used to. And I have cable now. And I haven't watched a single anime show yet. Weird...

I've only seen two volumes of the series (like, the first one and the fifth one) and I don't hardly remember what I saw. But I do remember that it was adorable. I liked the chic named Akane, the silver-haired one. And the gay guy. That was so funny. I thought it was a girl when I was watching the opener.

I think I'm a decent morning person. Since I get up early just about everyday, it's just sort of worn onto me. Now, at night, when I'm tired and ready to go to sleep, that's when I get grouchy. ^_^

There is a club here at UGA called UGAnime and they get together on Monday night's for three hours in this huge lecture hall and watch anime. I'm thinking about going one night. I don't know...I just don't want to go by myself...

It sounds like an advertisement for a talkshow, wanting you to call in. Go Ricky! Go Ricky!

There is LOADS of mountains...Ben Nevis for one (biggest in UK). There is some beautiful beaches...it's just that the sea is FREEZING and well it isn't really bikini weather lol. I can't believe what happened to the Rover. I was pretty pissed about that. It wasn't really a life threatening situation, Semmie. He only got shot in the arm and they guy was only trying to "Live life!" C'mon now! Heh...

HEY, not to mention the older members who posted in here and spammed. You should know better.

Well, I'm pretty sure that the anime series will have basically the same plot as the manga series, it just has to be released. Which probably wont be finished until this time next year. Which really sucks. I hate how you have to WAIT for stuff to come out. I don't think I'll ever see Paradise Kiss volume 5...*sighs* I don't really like the music on the TV series that much either. The only music that really sticks out to me is the pornographic/sexual music that always plays. I think it's hilarious. And it took a while for the theme song to grow on me. It's too lighthearted for such a deep and emotional series. Of course, the anime is pretty lighthearted, too.

Well, canti, I suppose you didn't read the "manual" that tells you what good post quality is because yours is atrocious. And as my kind friend Chaos has pointed out, you've broken quite a few rules. Thread Closed. Catch you on the flipside, Canti.

There are so many ironic things that happen to me...I really can't pinpoint them unless they are happening at that present moment. But what Piro pointed out was a pretty good example, and actually pretty funny. ^_^

I hate the no backpack thing, but you really can't do anything about it. Once people in authority have made up their minds about violence and safety, you really can't change their minds. Now, I get to carry my bookbag wherever I want to. *Huggles her pink Jansport* It's so pretty...

I was just wondering if anyone else was following along both storylines besides me? I think this is possibly my favorite series at the moment, so I'm quite interested in others opinions. The manga that is released so far is the seventh out of eight. As for DVDs, the fourth out of seven is being released next Tuesday. I have all three DVD and all seven volumes of the manga. Personally, I like the manga better. The storyline is more serious with alot of adult content and a bit of humor every now and then. There are lots of plot twists and turns and alot of things that make you really surprised. I was immediately into the series after just one volume. It's really surprising what you find out in volume seven about Chi's (and Dark Chi's) origins.
I absolute LOVED it...Freya and Elda...such beautiful names for such beautiful sisters. It was really sad that Freya's "Someone just for her" was her own "father." But it was beautiful, nonetheless.
As for the TV series, I think it's a little bit watered down. I think they should have just stuck with the original manga content, but they add all these funny episodes/scenarios that take away from the seriousness of what the manga is. Such as the episodes with Plum and Chi trying to find the panty store or the episode with the haunted apartment. They were pretty much pointless. And the stories are all mixed up as well. I wish it would just follow the manga! Oh well, I truly enjoy both. Chi is becoming my all time favorite anime character.
Of course, I enjoy the aspect of Elda AND Freya, so I guess they are BOTH becoming my favorites.
So what are your opinions on either the TV series or the manga? Or preferably both?

Last night's episode was the most annoying one that I've seen so far. The guy with the gun just RUINED everything, didn't he? Everything that Marissa and Ryan ALMOST had inside the pool house. It's Seth's fault, too, stupid Seth... I was getting pretty mad at Julie considering divorcing her husband. She acts like she's the victim, but he tried to tell her on numerous ocassions about the money problems. All she cared about was ponies and tennis lessons. I think though, that she has some sense talked into her by whatever her name is (Sandy's wife/Seth's mom). Anywho...C'mon Tony, I know you're the only one who's going to comment.

I have only seen the site through Ryan and his brother. And I didn't get into it that much, but I haven't really seen that much either. But they think it is the best thing since sliced bread. When I was at EFY, there was a girl in my group and she knew one of the guys who created the site. Neato, huh?
