Last night was my favorite episode so far. The tension was so thick you could slice it with a knife. I just wish Marissa would hurry up and choose Ryan before I have to stab Luke in the eye with a spoon. I don't like Luke. He looks like a big buffoon with his squared off face. But Ryan is beautiful. He has those boyish looks and the sweeping hair and the deep blue eyes...gah, no wonder Marissa fell for him so fast. So what do you think is going to happen to Marissa's father? I'm a little bit scared myself...

Anime Somebody's suing Cartoon Network (FLCL related)
Originally posted by Heaven's Cloud I have to disagree with you a little bit Asuki. Fooly Cooly was aired late in the evening (I believe at eleven o'clock) and I don't know to many responsible parents that have children thirteen or younger that allow their children to stay up that late and watch television...especially when the programming is called AdultSwim. Too many parents leave parenting up to the school system and television these days...
The kids aren't necessarily staying up. They are setting their VCRs and recording it when their parents don't know. Then, they watch it when their parents aren't around. If their parents come in the room, they turn it off. Just look at the VanWagoners. They do it all the time. The youngest one of them is 10. So yes, there you have it. You don't see ADULT swim stopping all of these kids. Which is my entire point. -

You need to work on spelling, punctuation, and grammar. I can see that you are at least putting thought into your post, but you aren't really getting much of a clear message across. I hope that next time you take these things into account. ANYWHO, I love Kare Kano. I've read the first two manga and watched the first DVD and I thorougly enjoyed it. It was such a twisted romance. I felt sorry for her really, but hey, she deserved it. And look how perfect for each other they are.. ^_^ -
Originally posted by Kill All Trends I can see how it's possible to say this. The american culture immediately groups *blunt example* Goku with Bugs Bunny. They will do the same thing to anime as they do to cartoons. The art is not appreciated here. Gundam is grouped with Power Rangers here, it scares me. This is why me and my peers never get along.
I don't agree with that. I think that people do appreciate the artwork and that is why it is becoming increasingly popular. And the general population of anime fans will tell you that it is the art style that got them into it. There are just a few ignorant folks. And HEY, I like anime merchandise. It's fun and cute and a good way to show off something I'm interested in. So yeah...WHOOHOO for stickers!

Anime Somebody's suing Cartoon Network (FLCL related)
Queen Asuka replied to Senor Ding Dong's topic in Otaku Central
Originally posted by yalborap Nice words, my friend. And yeah, I'm 11, but I'm mature enough to watch this stuff, and my parents watch it with me from time to time as well. This woman is no more than a soccer mom who wants to shield her children from all that is not cute, cuddly, and violance free. It's people like that that make me sick. If she doesn't want her kids watching it, just don't let them watch it.
There is no way that I'll believe an 11 year old is mature enough to watch things that are aimed towards adults. That's what's wrong with society today. Things that are rated PG-13 nowadays would have been rated R about 20 years ago. I hate how everyone just seems so relaxed and how no one thinks that violence or sex is really a big deal anymore. You are 11! There is no way you have a full grasp on the world and what you are watching! And the fact that your parents are letting you watch it is just horrible! I don't mean to sound like the complaining grandma, but seriously, you can't expect the parents to be constantly watching their kids EVERY SINGLE action. They have to take care of the kid and that includes things such as cooking, cleaning, etc. Yes, they need to be paying attention to what their kid is doing, but seeing CN as a channel aimed for kids, I'm pretty sure they aren't thinking that some violent show is going to be aired. -
Originally posted by Jingthebandit isn't it about a girl who searches for a alien on earth with the help of a boy with stuff coming out of his head. i think flcl had to much funny and strange things in the first episode. can i join anyones buddy list
I'm sorry, but you really need to clean up your post quality and not spam. I thought it stood for Super Deformed as well. That seems the only obvious assumption. But I'm pretty sure I'll never watch it. Heh, but you guys tell me if it's any good.
Originally posted by PiroMunkie Also, in the movie The Ring, when
the horse jumped over the side of the boat and clipped its back legs on the edge of the boat
, I found that utterly hilarious. My friends next to me did not, however, and called me mean for laughing at it, lol. i do not know... you do not see that happened everyday.
Okay well, that was the scariest part of the movie for me. Don't ask me why, but it freaked me out more than anything. You could HEAR it! And you saw the blood! And AAAAH!!! Maybe it doesn't help that
I hate horses and have a deathly fear of them?
Anywho...*Runs and hides under a blanket*

Sometimes I reflect on strange things. I play out these scenarios in my head that make me very upset, but I find myself doing it anyway. It's like I want to think through all the possibilities, even if they are extremely horrible. The things I mostly think about in situations such as these are things like: if my house was burning down, if someone broke in and tried to murder my family and I was hiding under the bed trying not to be found, if someone died what they would look like in their casket, if my cat got ran over, etc. I don't DWELL on these things, but they are huge fears of mine that I try to face every now and then...

Anime Somebody's suing Cartoon Network (FLCL related)
Queen Asuka replied to Senor Ding Dong's topic in Otaku Central
Yes, it's called ADULT SWIM. How old are the majority of you? Between ages 11-14, I'd say. Of course, they are the exceptions, but this is my point. I agree with the woman in a few ways. Number 1, I think it's stupid for CN to even have an AS. When I was a kid, I used to stay up all night and watch TV. It doesn't matter if it puts up the disclaimer...people will still watch it if they want to. No one can stop them. Why do you think all of YOU are watching it? And the things they do show on AS are VERY suggestive. I think that if CN wanted to show violent/sexual oriented stuff, they shouldn't have aimed at creating the channel for children in the first place. You all compare AS to shows that are aired on Fox. Well, primetime TV such as the stuff that comes on Fox is not aimed for kids. The Cartoon Network is. -
Well, this thread is pretty much not going to go anywhere intelligent-discussion wise, so I hope that next time you put a little more thoughts and efforts into your post. Anime What's the longest you've gone without anime?
Queen Asuka replied to Moor_Child's topic in Otaku Central
The longest I've gone without anime is however long it is between when I pop in a DVD or VHS or not. I don't have to rely on cable or other stupid things of the sort. *Runs off happily* CHOBITS DVD 3 IS AWESOME!! Well, the whole series is, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. -
I'm sorry, but your beginning post gave no indication of any thoughts and efforts to start an intelligent conversation. Please try more next time. Thread Closed.

Well, I just sort of wanted to discuss the differences between High School and college. I feel so dorky because I'm starting this thread, but I think it will start some decent discussion. SO, my question is, which did you like better and why? So far for me, I'm enjoying the college experience, even though I've only been here for a week. I'm not living in a dorm, which sort of sucks, but my roommates in my apartment are totally nice. One thing I like aLOT is not having to worry about a dresscode. I love being able to wear flipflops and mini-skirts everywhere. It makes me feel special. ^_^; I just hate how I fix my hair everyday and then the humidity kills it within five minutes. I've also met a few new people and I've also seen how my friends have either steered clear or jumped straight into partying. So what's your views?
Originally posted by ladyperson7890 hey QA, not to be rude n all, but does it accur to you that some girls actually act that way in real life(except for the spy thing...i think)? and that some people(like me) enjoy watching american cartoons that appeal to them more than PPG does?
*Laughs* I didn't mean their personalities were fake! I was meaning that the animation looked really fake. You could tell it's just imitating the true anime style. I don't doubt that real teenagers act like that. Why do you think I'm grateful I wasn't a part of that crowd? Of course, it's awesome here at UGA. So yeah...sorry for the misunderstanding. And hey, the Powerpuff Girls ROCK! *Hugs her big poster in her room*
Originally posted by hellfire78 why did they even creat totaly spies its horrible.
Please work on your post quality.
