1. WELL, this is definately an interesting topic. Yes, I have endured many things and the environment I've been raised in has definately made me the person I am today. Throughout all of my childhood, I've seen my parents do lots of things. And instead of hating them because they did it, I hate the act and not them. And so therefore, I have developed this hatred of many things such as smoking cigarettes, drinking, fighting, cussing, and many other things that make me look like I'm self-righteous. I can't help it that I hate these things. It's just that I've been around it all my life and I want to get away from it. I am about to move away from home and I am scared. I LOVE my family so much and I don't know what I'm going to do on my own. I am only going to live 2 hours away, so that is a big relief. And I hope that everything I ever learned and everything that made Tori well, TORI, will stick with me and I wont be easily lured away from my values or snared while I'm at college at UGA, one of the biggest party schools ever.
2. I've had my ears pierced since I was two months old. My mom sure seemed in a hurry to do that. But I love them. ^_^ I used to have my navel done. I got it done for my 15th birthday. One of my very closest friends, her parents do piercing and tattoos and they are very awesome. SO, they agreed to do it if my mom said it was okay. I loved my navel piercing and I had it for a year, but it never healed. I cleaned it every single day for over a year and it never would heal. So I took it out. I wont get it done again, but I really do miss it because it looked really good. I still have a little scar right there and everyone always points it out. It's one of my special marks, I guess.
3. Well, I have no idea what happened, but it makes me VERY sad that you're leaving. Maybe we can still keep in touch? *Asuki*
4. Well, it doesn't come on TV. So just go out and buy the series! ^_^
5. Well, if you're a Harry Potter fan you know that you have your copy reserved and that tomorrow night at midnight it will be released. I am so excited. The Media Play where I reserved my copy is having a big party type thing and they are going to be giving away prizes and stuff. I can't wait to go! Does anyone else have plans for this celebration? Also, does any have an prospects on who the main character that is for a fact going to die?
6.
Originally posted by Emme888 Unlike American cartoons, where there is no point to an eposide; Anime has a point with every eposide there is...Anime rules over all.
I am so sick and tired of people saying that in American cartoons there is not plot to each episode. There are PLENTY of American cartoons series where there is something going on. Just look at Kim Possible, Jonny Quest, Batman, Spiderman, or X-Men or ANYTHING! There is a point to those episodes! The series DOES string together! SO PLEASE QUIT SAYING THAT PEOPLE BECAUSE IT IS NOT THE CASE! And by the way, Anime is not God's gift to earth. I've seen PLENTY of anime series that are stupid and pointles. So quit worshipping it.
7.
Originally posted by Japan_86 I agree. Like in the anime of Fushigi Yugi, the scar is over Chichiri's right eye, while in the manga it is over his left
That's because in American manga, the pictures are reversed. Only Tokyopop sells manga that is in original form where you read right to left instead of left to right. I KNOW that the Eva manga is not like the series, but it's not so very far off, either. In my opinion, some ways it's better than the anime.
8. I think Love Hina is something that guys and girls alike will enjoy. I know more guys that are into than girls, actually. And about where to find it, I couldn't tell you. And posting links to other sites such as that are against the rules. Just go out and buy it. DVDs aren't that expensive for the nice quality they have. I used to pay $30 for a dubbed VHS and now I can get a subbed AND dubbed DVD for only $27. See? It's worth it. :toothy:
9. Yes, Samurai Pizza Cats is an anime and it is VERY old. Just look at the pictures and you'll know it was. :)
10. Please don't double post. I put your two posts together. Just edit your first one. As for the series, I haven't seen it, but it is strange that two different series seem to have the same music. And as for the marriage thing, me and Piro are the founders of it. It's just a bit of fun that people like to copy. ^_~
11.
Originally posted by Reaper of souls I always looked at anime as cartoon's for adults.
That's a pretty bad misconception because how many adult watch Pokemon and Digimon versus the kids? I'm pretty sure when they made those shows they were aiming to please the younger audience. And people, anime is just the Japanese word for animation. For all you know, they may call our American cartoons anime. That doesn't give it some sort of special meaning or anything.
12. Well, I just thought of one that does go with its anime well, and that is Fushigi Yugi. I don't think there are any variations in the storyline at all except that maybe Miaka wears different clothes now and then. It always baffled me how she would change clothes in the series when she didn't carry a pack at all. Where did the clothes come from?
13. I am a big fan of the Samurai Pizza Cats. I am hoping one day to get the whole TV series from somewhere, probably from Ebay. I used to watch it everymorning before I got ready for school and then me and this girl on my bus would sit there and discuss in detail what happened. I was obsessed with the theme song and I would record it on tape and then listen to it on my headphones over and over. ^_^ I really loved that show and I was sad when they took it off the air. OH YES! We also wrote fanfics and drew the pictures, too. I still have some of them and if I can find them, I'll scan some of it so you can see how awful it was. They were always love stories anyway. ^_^
14. You know, I still haven't watched that. But it gives me something to do. Thanks Transtic! ^_^
15. Well, I've done a picture of Juuness already, so I thought I would put it, even though she's not the person ahead of me. ^_^;
16. Well, Lady M, I will take your advice. It's just that people from the North of the West always come into the South and make out like they are better than Southern people just because we have an accent. Well, what if I think Northerners are the ones with accents? It's so stupid to me. My mother has the funniest accent. And she likes it when people compliment her on it. When she worked at the Cracker Barrell, the ones who liked her accent always gave her the best tips.
17. Did you seriously donate them to the Make a Wish Foundation? I am dying to know.
18. All I have to say is this: if you truly want to know, why don't you try asking God himself? Why don't you do a bit of praying, perhaps? Of course alot of people say there is not point because God can't answer you back, but if you pray with a sincere heart and you truly yearn for an answer, you will know when it comes. You can't just CHOOSE to be a certain religion.
19. Obviously I would tell her that her ex is saying that stuff, but I wouldn't say who let me know what was going on. She does need to know that he is saying this stuff about her so she can confront him and clear everything up. Otherwise she might end up with a pretty bad rep, and you may be a part of it.
20. It took me forever to figure out what you were trying to say because of your lack of punctuation, but I think I know what you were trying to convey. Maybe they wanted to recycle the music? That could be what it is. Or perhaps you are right and they do have a certain musical image that goes with what the Americans are to them.
21.
Originally posted by stun gun Milly I've heard of it what was it about so I can remember and see what I know so I can tell you what I thought of it ^^. I also saw akira I thought it was neat and cool and thrilling in a way.
Milly, I would ask that you please read the rules. Double-posting is not allowed. I have edited your first post, which is what you should do from now on. I have also merged this thread with the other Mononoke thread that was started not long ago. *QA*
22. Forgotten_rouge, please clean up your post quality and put more effort into your posts. Otherwise it is considered spam and they will be deleted. As for me, all I have to say is this: Anime is just the Japanese word for animation. The only difference between animation in the United States and "Anime" in Japan is exactly that: they were made in separate countries. Of course, the styles are very different, but whose to say that someone in America couldn't make a cartoon that looked exactly like anime? We have plenty of talented artists. Look at Disney. They do a magnificent job with what they do. As for the storylines being better, that's not necessarily the case. There are plenty of American cartoons that I've seen that have had very unique and interesting storylines.
23. Shy, I would date you. If you took me to a romantic dinner at Disneyland. ^_~
24.
Originally posted by Phantom I would also give confederate lovers the freedom to have slaves as well hehe.
And that was the most indirect and harsh insult that could have ever been made to the people who live in the South. Saying something like that is just stereotyping AGAIN by making it seem that all Southern people live on big plantations and want to keep people as slaves. This is the year 2003, not 1803. *sighs deeply* You make me very sad. Of course I am angry and I have a good right to be. Alot of you people have no clue about America and your harsh stereotypes hurt my feelings.
25. I think I have that disorder you guys are talking about. When I sleep, different parts of my entire body jump around. I don't think it's because of what I'm dreaming, but I KNOW I twitch alot. And some people think it's hilarious. That's what I can't fall asleep at school. Anytime I fall asleep at school it's a light sleep so I twitch BADLY. One time I twitched so hard my entire desk moved. If everyone else in the class wasn't asleep, it would have been quite embarrassing. Also, when I dream, the things I feel seem to be SO real. It's hard to explain and some of it is personal and I don't want to get into it, but my body reacts to dreams in the strangest ways. My eye twitches constantly. This guy I know will sit and stare at me and just count how many times it does it per minute. And I love it. ^_^
