1.
Originally posted by Kurama_Fan Yeah..........you're e crazed Kakyou fan........ LIke I'm the crazed Sorata fan............ and stuff like that.
PLEASE put more effort into your posts or they will be deleted. I am a big fan of this series in general. The manga is beautifully drawn and very detailed. The storyline is magnificent. I love Kotori; she's one big sweetheart of a girl. ^_^ As for the next thing that came out, the movie, I LOVED it except that they tried to cram a 16 volume manga series into a one hour movie. So much stuff was butchered and none of the characters were developed, but it was still beautifully animated and good to watch. I do recommend it. And as for the TV series, I have the first volume, and it was okay, but I just haven't made myself pick up the rest of them yet. I didn't like the way Kamui acted...he's too RUDE. I hate that. I always thought he was a gentle type of person. I hate the way he just blows off Kotori.
2. PLEASE LISTEN UP, PEOPLE! To keep this from constituting a favorites thread, please do not make lists and not give any reasons why you think them as thus. If you do from this point on, your post will be deleted. Making lists is pointless and leads to no other form of conversation. Thank you. *QA*
3.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel I like Ruben, he has a good voice... but at the same time, like I said earlier, he brings nothing new. He doesn't have a distinctive voice. If he was on the radio instead, I'd have no idea who he was. He sounds like so many other R&B male singers I hear, and I honestly personally know guys that have better voices... Still, congratulations to him.
I totally agree, and that's been my argument all along. I was very SAD last night when I watched American Idol for two hours last night and Ruben won. He wasn't nothing special. My theory that I developed is, people voted for him because he was familiar and he was a style that a lot of people already liked. But everything you just said was exactly what I was thinking.
As for Clay... He's cheesy, but I liked him. The notes that he hit before really set him apart. I just got the sense that he was more of a musical personality, rather than just a random singer... but it wasn't to be I guess heh.
He's not CHEESY. He's adorable. He has lots of personality when he sings and that's what makes him so great. Everytime he carried out those long notes it made me melt. I really hope he gets some sort of deal, especially since it was so close, so that I can hear him sing again. I am very disappointed in America, but then again, when I think about it, lots of people in America aren't very intelligent. So yes...that's my opinion on the matter.
Only 1,300 between the two.
Which makes me regret that I only called in one time instead of 1,336 times. *Sighs deeply* BY THE WAY, what do you guys think of Kelly Clark? I still don't think she's all that great and Justin should have won last season.
4.
Originally posted by Agatio My parents dont like me watching it either. My parents whenever I watch Adult Swim and they here the characters cuss or something there like "What are you Watching" and like I have some DVDS that have swearing and a little nudity but I mean they dont like it. I hate them for that.
That's an awful reason to hate your parents, just because they are looking out for you and being a bit protective. At least that shows that they care enough about you to keep an eye on what you're doing. Some children would kill to have parents like yours. Even though your opinion differs, you should still respect your parents no matter what. Maybe that's just an issue you can talk to them about civily.
5.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel What happened to the annoying guy that used to host along with the current annoying guy this year? They were the reason I couldn't stomach watching this show for more than 5 minutes last season. As a team they were so obnoxious that I seriously wanted to punch them both in the face several times. Then I'd go out for a popcicle, and come back and punch them some more. Not as bad this year, thankfully... but some of the staged "jokes" they do are horrible.
I knew there was something else I wanted to respond to! Okay, that guy, I can't remember his name, along with Ryan Seacrest, got on my nerves as well. I STILL hate Seacrest. I've been talking lately about the other guy. I was wondering where he ever went and why they didn't have him back. Maybe he wasn't wanted or maybe he didn't want to do it again? Couldn't compete with Seacrest? (Because he was the better looking of the two.) I don't know...
6.
If i want someone to be an American Idol i want them to be pretty much your average everyday type of person and i just feel that Ruben is more of that type of person
First, I want to respond to that. An idol, to me, is someone who rises above the rest. Not someone who is average. With Clay, I see a person with lots of compassion and care for others. He may not be the type to get easily pissed off, but isn't that what you would look for in someone to look up to? I would. I watched Clay last night and I voted and I hope more than anything for him to win. He's singing perfection. If he gets a deal, I will buy his album. I love him.
7. I like Animerica because it's been around for a long time and it always delivers great things. And then there's also Animerica Extra. I love that, except when they added so many different manga stories that you barely get anything when you're reading it because there has to be room enough for them all.
8. If you didn't like the anime, perhaps you should try the manga? I am STILL having a hard time getting through that first episode. The manga does get dry in some parts where it's the same things happening over and over again and they never quit. It gets too predictable and dragged out.
9. I agree with what you say wrist cutter because even I get arrogant sometimes. ^_^; But I really do think it makes you more open minded. You definately get a little more into other people's culture, and that's always a good things. I have learned many things by watching anime. Although, it does get annoying when those who are SUPER into anime think Japan is the coolest country in the world, worship it, want to live there, and think everything Japanese is God's gift to mankind. That sort of aggravates me.
10. Clay reminds me more of someone who should sing on Broadway. He just has this UNIQUE voice. Talent like Ruben and Kimberly can be heard on any R&B station, but hearing someone sing like Clay is very rare. He's amazing. I love being Semjaza the Second. :)
11. Love Hina is a romantic comedy about this guy, Keitaro, who is trying to get into Tokyo University because of a promise he made with some nameless girl when he is a child. He ends up moving into an all-girls dormitory and trying to get along with them and study at the same time. It's a wonderful series, if romance and comedy are your thing. Think Ranma 1/2...it's sort of like that.
12. Well, although I'm Taurus/Ox Astrology wise, which are earthy elements, with these descriptions I definately fit FIRE. I'm quick-tempered and I'm a big leader. The last thing that would be me is PASSIVE. I'm very active. I have a bit of each element, but I'd have to go with fire. Plus, I like red. It's a beautiful color. ^_^
13. Wow, this thread has really picked up some heat. Heh...Transtic, I totally agree with you about the Clay thing. It doesn't matter if he's gay or not (which I don't think he is...), he still has tremendous talent. And even if he doesn't win, I know he'll get a deal. I would pay for his CD because I enjoy hearing his voice so much. There are too many others out there with Ruben's style. So yes, I love Clay. And how can you say that no one in Georgia has Clay's back? I live in Georgia and I know PLENTY of folks who are Pro-Clay. So yes, don't make such a large assumption. :toothy: And ALSO, whoever said that Clay always cries, I have never seen him cry, not ONCE, and I always watch the show. He seems afraid, but I think that's because he's not confident enough. Of course, that has changed now. And I hate it how people look at him and think he's gay just because he's not the most attractive person in the world. In reality, most gay guys are BEAUTIFUL. *Stares longingly at Shyness and Transtic* So there. And Semjaza the Former, you should listen to me. And Clay's not a dork. He may look like one, but he has TREMDOUS talent. Just listen to him sing one good time, and then you will know. ^_^ *EDIT!!!!!!* OH YES! I forgot something else I wanted to add. Joshua was not suited to be the American Idol. He couldn't sing and didn't have all that much talent. The only reason that he stayed on there so long is because he was a Marine and supposedly was some sort of "hero." Well, that, as well as Clay's possiblity of being gay, has NOTHING to do with talent. And that was something that Josh was definately lacking. And Clay would be perfect for an American Idol. He has lots of talent and he's not the best looking of the bunch. And he winks alot. ^_^; He's a nice guy. I really hope he wins.
14. HEY! Alot of you guys are posting spoilers and I request that you PLEASE use the appropriate tags so that someone will not accidently read something they don't want to. Like I just did. Thank you... *QA*
15. Hey, about the "Heero Yui" thing, it's spelled "Heero Yuy." I just thought I would let you know. ^_^;
16. Heh, the Love Hina thread got old and died, that's where that topic went. I am a fan of the manga and I've read all the volumes that have been released so far. As for the TV series, I still haven't gotten through the first episode. Everytime I sit down and watch it, I get bored or sidetracked and have to start over. But I'm sure it's good, but I know the manga is better. I love Naru. She's just like me. ^_^
17.
Originally posted by Charles Achievement isn't something that can be measured by a certificate or a medal. Honestly, the self satisfaction that you feel after achieving success in school should be more rewarding than a little trinket. If you're happy with what you've done then your hard work has paid off. It'll all help you someday when it's time for you to go out into the work force. I'm sure that you'll receive the proper recognition for your grades when applying for colleges.
Ah, good advice, Charles. I, for one, had to swallow my pride last week. We had Honors Night and I ranked 11th in my class. What pissed me off? People that ranked in the top ten were folks who had taken the easy way out of school and taken easy college prep classes. One guy was even vocational. Here I was: someone who had worked so hard all of my high school career, taking every honors class, challenging myself constantly with harder classes every year, never opting for something easy. It truly irked me so MUCH that I wasn't in the top ten. But then I got to thinking: I knew that I had worked so hard, I knew how smart and intelligent I was, I knew that in the real world and in college I will go much farther than they will. And I also knew that I ranked higher than the stupid popular girl who won "Most Likely to Succeed" between me and her in the Senior Superlatives, and that was my goal ALL year. :D And I am also going to my University of choice. What more could I ask for? I am completely happy with my accomplishments now. ^_^
18. Well, it's finally down to the last two. And I knew it would end up this way: Clay v Ruben. Kimberly was a very good singer, but she just couldn't stand up to the both of them. So now, who do you prospect to win? I think Ruben has a very good chance, even though I am definately rooting for Clay. He definately has the entire population of teenage girls behind him. Let's just hope that's enough to help him win! ^_^ Like he needs it anyway...
19. Well, all of the anime/manga characters that I adore and usually the ones I "claimed was me" as I was growing up. Ah, I love being an Anime Girl. Asuka Langley Soryu(Evangelion): She's my top girl. I love her because of her go-get-em attitude. She never wants to quit and she has a VERY competitive nature, which is exactly how I am. She hates to fail and will do what she can to get her way. And I love it. Yurika Misumaru (Nadesico): Although she may seem cute and innocent, she is very determined to do what she can. She also puts others before herself. She's very tender-hearted when it comes to Akito and I really HOPE that she's the one that gets the guy (of course, I KNOW that Megumi will NEVER succeed...) ^_^ Miaka Yuki (Fushigi Yugi): Another heroine. I am all about the good girls. ^_^ I love her because she never gives up on Tamahome, no matter what happens. Even when he claims he hates her, even when he abandons her, even when he says he can't love her, she just knows deep in her heart that it's not true and she never gives up. She has the romance that I've always dreamed about. ^_^ Chi(Chobits): Another romantic heroine. ^_^ Well, I just love her innocence and perceptiveness. She has the perfect body and a heart of gold. I really hope that she finds the "Someone just for her." I also envy her entire wardrobe from the manga. It's the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen. Yes, I am a hopeless romantic. Those are my favorite females, so I suppose I'll post my favorite males a bit later. ^_^ I also like Naru Narusegawa of Love Hina, Belldandy (Oh My Goddess), Kotori from X, Yukari from Paradise Kiss, and Momo of Peach Girl.
20. I have something to add as well. Lately there has been a large collection of Trigun threads. And usually, there is only one thread per series to discuss every aspect in a collective manner. If we merged all the Trigun threads into one, it would be very confusing. BUT, I ask, that from now all, all Trigun threads should try to remain in one collective thread instead of starting new ones everyday. It's beginning to be a lot of the same discussion over and over again. Let's try to keep this orderly. Thank you. *QA*
21. Well, I don't see the problem with the thread being opened actually, since if someone did post hentai or spam I could always delete it. But whatever you guys feel more comfortible with. ^_^ Don't worry about the bad folks, MillieFan. I'll take care of them. :)
22. Well I was pretty damn proud of the 3 I got last year for AP History. Seeing as how only four of us out of my entire class actually passed the stupid thing. I took the Literature one last Monday and it was so hard. The essay questions pissed me off because I hate writing under pressure and the questions were stupid. Everyone who took it wrote the Free Response over Hamlet. The Calculus one about killed me. It faked me out. It started off easy and then got progressively harder. But I feel pretty good about it. I will be very thrilled with a 3, thank you all VERY much. The Free Response questions were very difficult, in my opinion. And all you AP History folks that took the test this year, you all SUCK! The essay questions were so EASY! It made me sick when they told me what essays they had to answer. *Sighs deeply* We had some hard crap last year. ANYWHO, 3 does count for college credit at University of Georgia, for all three of the classes I've taken. So there... And also, I wish I could have taken more AP classes. My school only has those three, and next year they're going to have AP Biology, which REALLY would have been my cup of tea since that's my favorite thing. Oh well...
23. Just to let you know, hentai threads are excluded ANYWHERE. And another favorites topic...you guys aren't given up. Just to let anyone know now, if you just post the couple and not the reasons why, your post will be immediately deleted. My favorite anime couple...well, that's definately tough for me since the reason I love anime so much is for the love story. I love Miaka and Tamahome alot of Fushigi Yugi. Both of them face so many trials together and yet their love always prevails. I especially love the episode where
Tamahome finds out that he can't go with Miaka into the real world so he starts trying to break it off with her and he almost kisses that Xia Fong (whatever) girl, and then Miaka walks in and then she runs off.
Her spirit to never give up on Tamahome and to always be with him is what inspires me to carry on such a loving relationship. Now that I've gotten through that...I want to go watch Fushigi Yugi. ^_^
24. Since you are new here, I guess you haven't paid much attention to the rules. 1. Posts like that are unacceptable, especially to start off a topic with. 2. Pay attention. There are already many Trigun threads, so if your topic would fit into one of those, please post there. Please pay attention and read the rules carefully. Enjoy your stay on the Otaku. *QA*
25. Well, considering the conversation of this thread hasn't gone very far, I have closed it. If Shyguy thinks otherwise, he can open it again. Until then, thread closed.
