That's very cute, Sara. Very simple and I like it.

Including manga in the literature forum though doesn't make sense to me. I think that it should be included as a subforum to anime since manga is anime related. But whatever. :)

Friendship is more of a casual relationship although it may be deep and meaningful. Someone you are friends with is also someone who should have the same qualities as the person you love. Love is just friendship with a deeper and more intimate realtionship. If that makes any sense.

Well, Tokyo Pop's official website has all the release dates of each book listed. It's quite informative. Of course, at my Media Play, the books come out over a month early. So we're pretty lucky. ^_^
Originally posted by Mitch The poetry/ fan fiction forum serves as such.
Only for manga that is fan-written. Otherwise, manga is not poetry NOR fanfiction. It is a form of anime, only you read it in a book. Therefore, I don't see how that forum could be of much use at all as a manga forum.

If you could choose only one new BIG feature for OtakuBoards, what would it be? Hmmm...that is definately a toughie for me...I'd say I wouldn't mind having CUSTOM TITLES! I've always enjoyed those even though it's been said they can be abused. If you could only add one new forum to OtakuBoards, what would it be? A manga forum. It's totally different from anime and there are so many different series being made available and becoming more popular that I honestly think it would be a big hit. Would you like to see a closer link between OtakuBoards and sister site, theOtaku.com? More fanart. I think there should be fanart contests located here on the boards in the Event Arena. Or something of that nature. Or maybe some quizzes or competitions. Would you like to see OtakuBoards open an affiliation program with other message boards? NO! I don't trust anyone who runs another message board. It's hard to agree on things and they will want to run things one way and you'll want to do it another. That's definately a no-go. Do you feel that theOtaku.com's chat system should be linked to OtakuBoards? No. I think they should be two separate things. It'd be extreme difficult to get everyone you needed around for one chat event because of everyone in each time block. And the moderators already have a big enough job on the forums without having to worry about the chat, too. Are you satisfied with the level of spam control on OtakuBoards? I'm very satisfied. I hate to see annoying people who can't type. I love the OtakuBoards because of the higher standards. If you could access OtakuBoards on a handlheld device (PDA, Generation 3 Mobile Phone, etc), would you access it regularly in this way? Heck yeah. If I had one of those devices. ^_^; I would be on the Otaku 24/7. Is it more important to have a large variety of skins, or smaller (and higher quality) range of skins? It doesn't matter to me. I only use the one skin I have, but with each person comes different tastes. Therefore I think somewhere in the middle will satisfy everyone. ^_^ Would you prefer to have anime/gaming-themed skins or completely original works? I like anime/gaming themes. But there would have to be a good variety and not a very limited choice. Maybe have a poll about which one to make next and so forth. Do you actively engage Moderators and Category Moderators if you are having problems on OB? Well, being a moderator myself, I hope I already know those rules and apply them. :) Are you satisfied with OtakuBoards' child protection policies? Extremely. I like the way this place is so clean-cut. There are still some posts that bother me every now and then, but this place, like I said earlier, has very high standards that are great for everyone.

Weeeeelll....like everyone else, I have to get a job. I have to start saving money for when I get out on my own in the fall. I am really hoping to work at the Texas Cattle Company where my mom used to work and I'm actually going to go apply shortly after my birthday, which is in 9 days! ^_____^ I'm also going to EFY with Anna and Stephanie. I'm super excited about that since it's going to be my first and only year! ^_^ And sometime at the end of July/beginning of August, I'm moving up to Athens, Georgia. I'll be going to UGA and the first day of class is August 18th. ^_^ I have to get ready to live on my own.
Originally posted by Shyguy I am very excited about the end of the school year because I am a senior in high school. Graduation is coming very soon, and it's going to be great. School normally doesn't bother me very much, but thinking about college makes me very eager to leave this place. I believe that Tori is also graduating this year. We're so lucky...
Wow Josh, you took the words right out of my very mouth. That's exactly how I am...I used to love school, but now when I think about graduating and going to UGA, I am so ready for it all to be over. I got my cap and gown yesterday and it just made me even more excited. I love being a Senior. I graduate on May 24th. ^_^ I wonder how many Seniors there are right now on the boards? The only bad thing about being a Senior is how much I'm going to miss everything. All of my underclassmen friends, my teachers, the Dance Team, the beautiful campus...everything. But hopefully I'll be just as happy at the University of Georgia. ^_^ And yes, we are lucky!

See, I have a history around here, too. One day people will look back and say, "Do you guys remember Queen Asuka? Yeah, she was one crazy girl who liked Plushies alot..." or something. :toothy: ANYWHO, you know, as bad as this may sound, I never heard of all the chaos and the downfall of version 2. I always heard it was fun because it was more carefree, but that was it. Can anyone give me a timeline of about the time each version was established? That would be nifty.

Aelyne looked at the woman who called herself the Lady Chevalier, saw her wincing in pain, and her brain started thinking fast. She did have a friend close around here she could trust...Dan...and she knew he would be at home this time of the night. He hardly slept and was always in his room doing some sort of artwork. His walls were covered with all the different pictures and she always marvelled at his creative genius which he most of the time labeled as "crap." He lived alone...his parents were dead...and she was too far from her own home. His house was really about a two or three minute run from here. All of these things came to her in an instant and suddenly her mind was back on where she was when the lady let out a groan. "Come on, follow me. I can take us to the house of a friend of mine..." Aelyne told her. The Lady Chevalier nodded, but said nothing. They began a brisk walk in the direction of a nice looking neighborhood. Of course, looks were decieving because the people that inhabited the place we far from nice. No one was really considered "nice" in such a place as Iron Hand. It was almost a cruel thought. They passed the landmark streetlamp that was just a few houses down from Dan's. Aelyne didn't want to slow down because the urgency in the lady's voice was terrifying. She couldn't believe how long she had been running when she looked down at her own feet, realizing she was still wearing her high-heels. They were almost like another extension of her body, she was so used to wearing them. Under her long trenchcoat jacket was some skimpy outfit that she would take off for others. She made killer money, but she hardly used any of it on herself. She sighed deeply. Just before they reached Dan's house, Aelyne thought about her sisters, all alone at home with her alcoholic father. He never messed with them and she was sure they were sleeping peacefully now. They were so beautiful and innocent and she never wanted them to be involved in the life she was living. Aelyne stopped in front a house where the grass hadn't been cut in a long while. The Lady Chevalier was beside her, breathing heavily but quietly. Aelyne could see the blood seeping through her shirt. "Is this the place?" "Yes," Aelyne replied, "my best friend Dan lives here." At that time, she saw a figure emerge from some corner of the yard. "Aelyne? Is that you? Are you in trouble again?" Dan's figure came out of the shadows and he saw the two women. "What's going on?" he asked. "Let's just get inside and I'll let her explain everything to you," said Aelyne.

Yeah, the only previews on the video was for DBZ. :rolleyes: Though, I saw it dubbed, and the voices were not that bad at all. Everyone's voice suited them nicely, especially Marlene's. It's nice to see a decent dubbing every now and then. I'm not particularly sure I'm ever going to get the next volume, but it was definatley something different, since I'm big on the comedy/romance genre.

Well, I got this video for Christmas with the first three episodes of the series and I never got a chance to watch it until last week in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep. And let me tell you, this series disturbed me. The gist of the series is that this guy wakes up and finds out that he's been asleep for much longer than he planned (he was cryogenically asleep until they found the cure for a disease he had). When he awoke, he found out the earth had been taken over by these monsters called "Blue." He was saved by a recovery team who had come down to earth from a space station where all inhabitants had evacuated and they were trying to reclaim the place. This series is very GORY and very MATURE. I would suggest it for the older teen. Has anyone else seen any of this series? I'm sure Kevin has...Heh. ^_^

Well, I thought I had special talents, but it seems that everyone else possesses them, too. ^_^ But that's not exactly a bad thing. My first talent is dancing. I love to Dance and when I go to college this fall I'm going to enroll in a jazz dance class so I can learn advanced moves and then try out for the Georgia Red Hotz Dance Line. My second talent is drawing. Of course, my artwork has went downhill lately, but I think that's because I haven't been drawing as much as I used to. I really like to watercolor, as well. So yeah... I have other odd talents, like talking fast or being a professional procrastinater, but are those really good things? ^_^;

I really liked her name. I miss that series. It was really cool...of course, it seems that more guys liked it than girls, but that's usually the case with most old-school anime anyway.

Anime Changes in the Anime Forums and Notes on Broken Rules
Queen Asuka posted a topic in Otaku Central
Since the collapsing of the subforums, it is now imperative that whenever you start a thread or are in the midst of discussing a thread that was once in its own forum, you tell what series you are talking about. It saves confusion whenever I know what series we are all discussing. I'm just trying to keep everyone on the same page here. ^_^ ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE! This has been becoming a problem as of late in the Anime Forums. You do NOT, I repeat do NOT post links to other websites within your posts. You can only do that via PM or in your signiture. Please remember this from now on. Thank you. *QA* -
I played DDR yesterday in a skirt. TOO fun. ^_^ I class this as a reoccurring thread, threads merged - NeoC
Originally posted by Juuthena I don't watch too much TV anyway, so I don't really watch it very often. Alot of anime just annoys me with the voice acting, though. Especially DBZ. Bleck. >>;
*Laughs madly* Heh, everyone is annoyed by DBZ. Especially me. I agree. I don't like to watch much TV anymore. I haven't watched an anime video in a LONG TIME. I got a video for Christmas and I finally watched it the other day. That's how I've been. TV is so blah...I just catch a movie every now and then. Watched Shallow Hal today. It was pretty cool.
Originally posted by ZxFrOgGie13 there are a few others that I couldn?t think of but yeah... as you can tell a lot of it is shojo... but hey it's all good.... but my top 2 are... 1. Paradise Kiss 2. Peach Girl I don?t know why, but I really didn?t enjoy the ones put out by Clamp as much. I don?t know, but ah well. I tend to go with the TokyoPop.
My favorite series is Chobits by CLAMP. And it was released by TokyoPop, just to let you know. ^_^; Anywho, I'm glad to see that there's someone out there besides me who likes ParaKiss. I read it when it was published in SMILE and I absolutely fell in love with it. ^_^ I love George and Arashi.

Anime How do you feel about the Mainstreaming of Anime...
Queen Asuka replied to a topic in Otaku Central
Originally posted by Syk3 I think it was really DBZ that started this whole thing about how dubbing is bad...just look at Trigun and Cowboy Bebop.
I agree with that. But of course, DBZ isn't the only dubbing that is horribly bad. Trigun, I must say, is the best dubbing I've ever seen. Other series, no matter what series it is and how good the actual content of the series is, still falls short, in my opinion. In this case, look at Fushigi Yugi, Sailor Moon (GAH, it's horrible!), or Nadesico. -
You know, why is it that now that I really want to know it, the Princess's name leaves me? It's right on the tip of my tongue... Anyway! I loved that show. I used to watch it, too. And of course, being a girl, I LOVED the Princess, especially when her hair was all down and pretty. And hey, she was all about the pink, so she definately gets two thumbs up from me. ^_^

Well, I used to hate manga and prefer anime more, but now it has been the other way around. Well, I don't hate anime, but you know what I mean. Lately I've been getting more into manga. It's so much more detailed and the storyline is usually much deeper. The characters are so beautiful and even though they are not in color, it doesn't even matter. I mean sure, anime is great and wonderful, but there's just something about manga that I really like. Also, with manga, I can pick it up and read it whenever I like. You can't just sit down and watch anime in the middle of school or something. ^_^
