1. Samantha, that is something I know you will grow out of. Just wait. Besides, you wont be having kids for a LONG time, and your tastes will change many times by then. YYH, that's what I've been saying all along. You grow out of such things as wanting to name your kids after anime characters. I'm telling you, it's a phase. All anime fans probably go through it. And Ken, Tori Ann, huh? That's so CUTE! I like the name Tori myself, you know. It's one of those BEAUTIFUL names that everyone just wants to give to their kids. Heh, just kidding. ;)
2. ADV is a company that puts out anime videos. Like Nadesico and Excel Saga. They have the coolest advertisments. Anyways, I guess they've always done a pretty good job and they are finally deciding to take the leap and do the entire network thing. I don't know if I'm scared or happy. I don't anime to become anymore trendier than it already is...

Well, I think rap sucks and I hate R&B, too. And it has nothing to do with the cussing because my favorite band cusses like you wouldn't believe. I just hate it and I think it's stupid. That's my opinion. They make the stupidest videos and sing about the same things. And all the songs sound the same and there's hardly an variety. There, happy?
4.
Originally posted by Sara "Playing Mod" is a term used to denote unnecessary or rude action by members. It doesn't make you an outstanding person among the staff, trust me. It just ticks people off.
It really ANNOYS me whenever people do that. They are really just over-stepping their bounds. And what's really annoying is when someone does it in an RPG thread and then doesn't even bother to sign-up for it. I just wish people would give it a rest and just go about their own business and not worrying about others. Ah, Sara, I myself have been guilty of closing a thread with a sharp remark. But James opened it back up and I came to my senses. Some people are just SO aggrivating, though, and it's usually not even the newbies! I remember when I was a newbie...I got married to PiroMunkie. ;)
5. Well, I did used to watch Dragon Ball Z, when it first start showing on Cartoon Network. And I used to think it was alright. But that show is just SO drawn out and so BORING. There isn't really a good plot and it's repetitive. That's my argument. And I'm sticking to it. If you're a fan, I'm not going to dislike you at all. Just not like your tastes. And that goes with anything really. I like more intellectual, romantic, and comedic anime. DBZ could NEVER give that to me. Hardly any anime shown on TV can. And by the way, it's official. ADV is starting an Anime Network that will be on cable Tv and will show nothing but anime 24 hours a day. Sounds good. Too bad I don't have cable...
6. I think alot of people quit reading once they hit high school because they force you to read those horrible novels and you have to keep in schedule and forced reading is not good. Especially for me. I never really liked it. I like to read at my own pace. At our school, every month and a half, we have what is called Silent Reading. It is where at the beginning of every class, for fifteen minutes, you have to read. It's quite simple: Read, make a 100. Don't read, get a 0. I personally choose to read. :bluesweat
7. I don't like it when people mistreat newbies. It's rude. What's the point? Do you get off on cutting people down? If that's the case, then you need to take that elsewhere and not have it here on the OB. And a_g, ^_^, how in the world do you think old members are scary? Anyone that you have in mind? I want to know. :D *Edit* I've also noticed that there are a LOT of OB members from Georgia. That's pretty cool!
8. Lalia and Drake headed up towards the trap door, and they opened it cautiously. As they did, sunlight poured in upon them. It was obvious that they had come out of the ground outside the graveyard somewhere. Drake stepped out and helped Lalia up behind him. She sighed in relief. Lalia: I am so glad to no longer be in there...I am still aching from the blow I took... Drake: I hope you recover quickly. We still have many places to travel. Now that they were above ground, they took a look around. To the right you could see the Graveyard not far in the distance, still covered in an ominous fog. Small lights shown here and there throughout it. Lalia shivered and turned away. Lalia: Where do we head to now? You acquired the first item you were set out looking for. What would Sahasarala's council tell us to do now? Drake looked at her and smiled a bit. Drake: Well, right now we take a well-deserved break, now that we are back out in the sunshine. Let's go sit on the edge of the water there and take a bit to eat. He took her hand and lead her over to the water and there they stood, gazing at it's blueness as the sun reflected in golden ripples. Lalia sighed. He looked at her. Drake: What's wrong? Something troubling you? Lalia: Just a little homesick, that's all. But I'm glad that I am with you and not with someone else. She squeezed his hand a bit and smiled, looking back out at the water. Lalia: I just wonder if my mother is looking down on me and watching over me from wherever she is. I really miss her, you know... She took her free hand and gently rubbed her side. She had acquired a nasty bruise and she didn't want to tell Drake how much it was hurting her. It was painful to intake breath. But she continued to smile anyway. She didn't want him to worry more than he already was. And she didn't want him to think she was incapable of going on this quest with him.
9. Oh Deedlit, please do not name your kids those names. I am HOPING that this is a passing phase and that you will move on and want normal names for your children. And Anna, for your boys names, do you have all the biblical names down or what? ^_^
10. Well, when I was a newbie I was immediately accepted into the group of things and made friends quickly. That's why I've been around this place so long. I'm also not rude to newbies. I try to make them feel as welcome as possible because I've had experience with other message boards and I absolutely hate it. These newbies are really the future of the boards because who's really going to be around here for their entire lives? Look at Sephiroth. He's a big role model to older members, but new members don't even know him. Now he's at home raising a family and makes an appearance every once in a while.
11. I prefer to read a book. I love reading, but it's actually hard to find time to do it with all the other responsibilites that I have. I don't ever watch TV either. And the only way I could see myself prefering TV over a book is in Anime VS. Manga, but even then I still prefer to read manga a lot of the times. And another thing, TVs aren't portable. You can't just carry a TV around everywhere you go. (Well, some idiots can...), but a book is always there and can go anywhere you do. Books are awesome and it is a proven fact that people who read are smarter people. So there... All you idiots out there, do us all a favor, go read an educational book. And no, magazines do not count. Hey, does anyone else's school do Silent Reading once a month?
12. I like to try out all sorts of videogames, but my favorites are RPGs and Fighting games. I play Tekken so much it's not even funny. I'm the Tekken Queen around where I live. (Of course, this one big FAT kid beat the CRAP out of me at the arcade one day...pissed me off... :shifty: ). RPG wise, I've played a pretty good bit of those. I like the Final Fantasy's, Chrono Cross, Lunar, Legend of Dragoon, stuff like that. And even though it's not in same genre, I'm a big Resident Evil fan, too. Games I don't care for are Sports games and sometimes racing games. But racing games only because my dad plays them and takes up the PS for HOURS and wont let anyone else play. Sports games because I don't like sports...
13. Oh yeah! I forgot about Chloe Brianna. That's such a cute name. Flash has a cool name, Conner. That might be something I'd consider naming one of my kids. Gavin Conner...that sounds cool to me! :D I really did want to name my kids Dexter and Chester, but everyone said they would get seriously made fun of. So I had to scrap that idea. I have a chihuahua named Chester instead.
14.
Originally posted by genkai er, not cool QA! Hybrid was saying that it was weird when "otaku" didn't even know sometheing as mainstream as YYH and CB, kay? Plus, the reason they were made mainstream was because they were QUALITY ANIME! I was a YYH fan before Adult Swim took it in, and, of course, i was mad, but really, it's quality. Mainstream DOES NOT mean bad! I don't like most mainstream, but CB is one of my faves, so back off!:p don't take that seriously, i'm just mad that you find mainstream and bad are a synonym(is that how you spell it?:))
Gah, I totally agree with you, Genkai! I read what I had typed in response to that and I was like "Man, that was HARSH...I feel bad for saying that... I must have been pretty pissed off..." So yeah, Hybrid, if you read this post, I'm sorry for being so rash, but yeah. That's my opinion on the matter. And it's cool to see that this topic has lasted for many many months. The sign of a good topic, I'd say. ;)
15. *Laughs* Like I just said in that other thread, I think people wanting to name their kids Japanese names is a phase that people big into anime go through. I used to want to have daughters named Kasumi and Sakura. But I've grown out of that, thank goodness. Now I just want my daughter to be Arianna Rose. My son is going to be Corbin James. And other kids, well I have thought up some, but they aren't certain. These are the definates.
16. Thank you, thank you! ^_^ I used to want to name my kids Japanese names. I think that's a phase that alot of people go through who are big into anime. I used to want a Kasumi and a Sakura. Those names are so cutesy!
17. Actually, I think it's kind of cute, in an odd and demented way. ^_^ But this thread will inevitably be closed. But don't worry about it. I honestly don't think your sig is breaking any rules.
18. My real name is Kimberly Victoria. I love my name to death. They call me Tori for short. And that's cute, too. I'm going to name my daughter Arianna Rose, though. ^_^

I think all rap is stupid and pointless. A waste of time. There's my opinion.
20. I don't mind being called Asuka at all. Everyone else does it, so feel free. Well this board was one that someone from HERE, I don't even remember who, introduced me to. I swear, I tried so HARD to get people on there to notice me, but they were so rude. I hated it. And the post quality was shameful, too. I always loved Otaku Boards becuase almost everyone makes a good post. Notice almost, though. There are still a few who must learn.
21. OH, this can go both ways, now that someone mentioned checking papers. Man, in middle school I got so pissed one time because someone was checking my paper and changed my answers so that I had them wrong, giving me a 76. After I turned them in and got my paper corrected, I made a 96. I hate low-life unintelligent scum.
22. I hope this topic is perfectly legal. I thought I would give it a go. Alright, during the time that transpired while I was in Otaku Big Brother, I joined a different message board. Now, there were a FEW people from the Otaku Boards on there, but it was just one of the most horrible places I've ever visited. And it's really weird, but when I joined the OB I was immediately accepted and I made friends quickly. There, I could barely even be noticed. The board was pretty similar to our own, except for they had a huge staff that was practically worshipped. And during that week or two, I realized that the Otaku Boards it a really awesome place. People may complain about how strict the rules are and so forth, but we have, for the most part, a really friendly user community. Please give me your thoughts on this topic.
23. I just remembered another person I'd like to meet. Delian: Even though I don't hardly know her, she's always seemed so sweet to everyone. And she likes me and doesn't think I'm vain. ^_^
24. Well here's my opinion on which console I like best. Even though I grew up with Nintendo and I love all the old games on the SNES, I will prefer Sony. Why? Well because there is a big variety of games on the system and with the release of the PS2, you don't have to put aside all those old games. They play right there on the new system. Plus you can use the same control pads. That's pretty convient for me because accessories are pretty expensive, as well as games.
25. Cheating, eh? Hmm let's see. In school, it really pisses me off when people cheat, especially if they want to cheat off of me and I have spent alot of time doing my work and they haven't. Now, I don't mind helping someone out because I'm ALWAYS needing help and I'll let my CLOSE friends who I know are on the same intelligence level as me copy my paper if they are in dire straights, but that's about all I'll tolerate. On boyfriends/girlfriends, I'm all for sticking to one person. That's just how I am. I like committment, I really do. But I do flirt too much, though. -_-
