2. Well, see, I think that basically sums up all the stuff that my mother heard. But some people act like that's the only violent game out there. And it's not. It just so happens to a mother came across this game, made a big deal out of it, and then other moms started noticing what their kids were playing, too. Sometimes people LOOK for something to get upset over. And what's really weird is that my mom heard about it, and my mom usually NEVER cares what we play, no matter how violent/gorey it is because she knows we have enough sense to distinguish between right and wrong. And also, in my opinion, there is just as much violence concerning men on that game as there is as women. And another point, games like that that let you take on that sort of scenario are fun because you DON'T really go out and do it.
3. Alright, well this is kind of stupid, but here goes nothing. Me and Anna used to argue over who was going to take over the world. I said I was going to be Queen of the World and she said she was going to be Empress of the World. We are also big into Evangelion and since I look like Asuka and she looks like Misato, we were Queen Asuka and Empress Misato. About that time I joined the OB. After a while, I hated my name, but then I realized how much I loved being called Queen, Queenie, QA, and stuff like that. I just think it's so cute. And I'm the Queen of Plushies. So it's all good. ^_^
4. Hey, people, now tell me honestly, would you go out in public if you were wearing the ugliest grandma shirt that no one would be caught dead in? Nevermind, don't answer that, I know how some of you people are. I like to look good. I'm not going to lie. I will NOT wear something that I think is ugly. I wont even sit around the house in a T-shirt if I don't like what's on the T-shirt. Do I follow fashion trends? Only if I like them because I definately can't afford them. A big trend that's in right now is the shirts with the HUGE bell sleeves. Well let me tell you, I LOVE those shirts, okay? I have two of them and I'd have more if I could afford them. I like to look good! When I was little, I got picked on for looking like a dork. So now, I will do what I can to look good. It's only natural for a girl to want to look her best, I think. And that does not mean I'm following the crowd. Perhaps everyone is trying to just look good and just so happen to have the same taste. Wouldn't that be interesting.
5. Rebekkah sat in Physics class, her head in her hands. She didn't know what in the world was wrong with her. She had the most horrible headache and she hadn't been able to sleep and she totally had lost her appetite. She sighed deeply and tried to take some sort of notes so that she wouldn't fail the class. After school she went to Dance practice. Dana came running up to her. Dana: Man Rebekkah, you don't look so good. Are you sure you're up for practice today? Rebekkah: Yes! I've picked out this wonderful song and I've already choreographed a great routine for us. We're going to blow everyone away at competition this year! Dana smiled and Rebekkah smiled back. She put in the CD and demonstrated the dance for everyone. When she finished she smiled at everyone, catching her breath, and all the other dancers clapped enthusiastically. Dana: That's an AWESOME routine! Rebekkah: Thanks! Just then she looked up and saw Billy standing nearby, watching. He hadn't been at school in a few days and she hadn't heard from him. She gasped a bit, but then smiled brightly and waved.
6. I wish that our school had uniforms. Like someone else said earlier, even though they sort of inhibit your freedom of expression, trends already do that for you. Everyone tries to do what's cool and what's in and therefore everyone ends up looking quite the same. It's horrifying really. But there's also another side to this. Some people dress like others because when something does come in, it's all you can find in stores. I mean any store you go to, that's all there's going to be. It's hard to find something that everyone doesn't already have, no matter what store you go to: Sears, Hot Topic, Pac Sun, Abercrombie, Gap, Express. It doesn't matter.
7. Is that the ending theme song? I thought that were seriously a cute song. Yeah, we all know the only reason why you liked the chess match is because it was full of NAKED WOMEN! ^_^ Just kidding. But it was pretty cool. I also liked the two little flower fairies, the Lily and the Violet. And the S&M Queen of Hearts.
8. Dressing goth is tons of fun. My sister has lots of Goth clothes, so when I got out with them, I wear them. I have some of my own, but yeah. ^_^
9. I prefer Kaworu over Shinji myself. Kaworu was so much more confident and so innocent looking. Shinji was just a little bit cowardly. Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE Shinji to death, but I like Kaworu better. Besides, he reminds me of someone on the OB who is sort of special to me. *Sighs happily*
10. *Falls over Anime Style* Heh, knew it was too good to be true that guys didn't have the perv tendency. ;) I'm just joking. It is weird that she didn't give in. But then again, her Mirror self sure didn't have any hesitations when it came to removing her clothes! The music was funny! It sounded like something you'd hear in a farmer cartoon, I swear! My favorite part for some ODD reason was the Chess Match. That was so cool! LOL, and the King and Queen were so cutesy!
11. In my opinion and through experience, these things are the worst for people in middle school (6th-8th grade) and in the 9th grade when you are trying to "fit in" and "find yourself." When I was in middle school, I got picked on so bad because I didn't dress like everyone else. My family can't afford to go out and buy me outragous priced clothes just because they are name brand. I wore nerdy looking clothes and I never looked "cool" but I just put up with it. I hit High School. Ninth grade was so tough because I couldn't figure out where I was. I tried to dress Goth, and all the Goths loved me and I had so many guys who thought I was so cool. Then I realized that I should just wear what I like, not to impress others, but to make myself feel good. Now I just wear whatever I want, and being a Senior, you notice people who are a bit more mature could really care less about what you are wearing. And if I wear my Goth shirt one day and dress like a prep the next, doesn't make me necessarily either of those. I'm just Tori. And I'm happy just the way I am. And that's what you've got to realize. People who care about images are just kidding themselves. Because after they get out of High School, what they wore isn't going to mean a thing.
12. Well Happy New Year's EVE! from me. Seeing as how it is barely New Year's Eve afternoon, we still have a long way to go here. But I'm sure everyone else had a wonderful New Years and celebrated WISELY. Man, I'm hungry...
13. Lalia stared at the monster as it came towards them. She moved out of the way as Drake immediately began to attack it. The monster looked like it was just becoming more angry and more powerful with every blow that Drake delivered. She sat there, watching helplessly, her mind racing quickly. She knew that her fire rod would only burn it but maybe.... The ice rod had the ability to freeze it completely, into a large block of ice. That would give them enough time to attack the monster and kill it. She knew what she had to do. She pulled out the Ice Rod and stood behind Drake. He was continuing to attack the monster. It lashed out at Drake and make a loud noise, but he continued to fight. Just then Lalia put her arms around him, using him as a shield, and shot the monster with the Ice Rod. It was completely frozen. Drake just stood there, breathing heavily. Lalia smiled a bit, satisfied that she had done something right, and her arms still around Drake, hugged him tightly from behind. Lalia: Let's get out of here...
14. And the ironic thing here is that the girls are the ones who liked it and the guys are the ones who thought it was stupid when it was totally girl on girl! Heh, anyway, I don't mean to sound perverted or anything. The artwork was fantastic because it was CLAMP. And it may have been short and seemed a bit pointless, but that's what made it so fun. Miyuki was just thrown from one scene to another and that crazy music in the background for some reason reminded me of a farmer!
15. Well, what I heard was that it was mostly the violence against WOMEN that was offending people. So far, I haven't been offended. And I happen to like violent games. That doesn't make me a violent person, though. *smiles innocently* One of my favorite games is actually Resident Evil and you don't see me outside with my machine gun trying to blow the brains off of innocent hobos that I may think look a bit like zombies....er something.
16. It was somewhere in the News. Probably on one of those big-time news companies in America. I don't hardly ever pay attention. And I totally agree with you on the maturity thing. It annoys me though, when the media blames all the problems of society on videogames and the sort. Any sort of outlet, I suppose.
17. And dear Amibasuki, is there someone in your life that you are obsessing about? :toothy: It's not that bad to be obsessed with people. As long as you don't stalk them and stake out at their house and stuff like that. I used to be a stalker, but I don't do that sort of thing anymore.. :shifty:
18. I don't think they are ugly...Actually, I used to have a think for Deryck. He is so CUTESY! Okay anyway, I liked a few of their songs, but then I realized they sound a whole like everyone else. But I still think they are okay. And their music videos are always tons of fun!
19. I hope this topic hasn't already been covered, but I looked and I didn't see anything, so here goes! My mom informed me and my sisters a couple of days ago that she saw on the news that GTA was too violet towards women. She also said that we wouldn't be allowed to own that game (Even though we've already borrowed it and played it multiple times and even my dad likes it). I think she was just being weird that day because she usually lets us play whatever games we want. And what's real funny is that me and my sisters are the ones playing it when it's supposedly SO violent against women. Anyone else have any thoughts and comments about this? Anyone else HEARD this?
20. Heh, I bump into Otaku members all the time! Anna, and Amibasuki, and Deedlit, and treton_noir, and yeah. Okay, I'll shut up now. :D
21. Well, this thread frightened me a bit at first, but I like reading up on everyone's opinions. Well, despite my father's wishes, I'm Mormon. And I'm happy. And I'm not going to argue with anyone. (Even though people try to argue with me.) My dad doesn't seem to happy about it, but my mom doesn't care. Sometimes I think she might be interested and that makes me hopeful. My Aunt and Uncle, my dearest role models who just recently moved to Oregon, are Jehovah's Witnesses. They got so MAD at me when I got baptized, but what can I do? I'm not trying to make them happy. I'm just doing what I feel is right. They are also trying to convert my Nanna (My mom and my aunt's mom). She lets the Witness ladies come and talk to her once a week. She says that family reunions would be scary because everyone has so many different beliefs. My Uncle, my mom and aunt's brother, is Athiest. Last time the family got together, my Aunt and Uncle tried to debate religion with me. And that's what I do not like. Why do people want to argue about it? You believe what you believe, and I respect that. So don't get all over my case for being different.
22. Eh, obsession. That is something I definately have a problem with. But at least I go through phases. I used to be obsessed with Sailor Moon. It was SAILOR MOON EVERYTHING! Which I just about have, seriously. I have Sailor Moon curtains for crying out loud. Then the next biggest thing was Gundam Wing/Heero Yuy. I was so IN LOVE with him! Then Tamahome from Fushigi Yugi. Of course, no one can turn him down, can they? Especially in the subbed version! *dies* Then it was Legolas. And hey, I still love Legolas. But I just don't want to love him too much because it hurts. He's not REAL I keep telling myself. Hey, that DOESN'T hardly work..but I'm trying. Things I'm still obsessed with include: Anime (it is my PASSION!), my Ryan, Videogames, warmth (Man, I HATE being cold), and Reese's Cups. Um..yes, I am a VERY strange person. I think obsession is okay because most of the time it's something that you'll EVENTUALLY get over, you know? It's just annoying for you while it's going on.
23. OH, funness. This thread looks interesting. Who would I like to meet in real life, eh? PiroMunkie: Well, let's see...hmm. I wonder why. ;) Shyguy: Because he is Joshness. BabyGirl: Jenna is just such a sweetheart like that. Lady Katana: Because she was fun in BBII. GinnyLynn: Because she has the STRANGEST mind. Sara: I love her personality. Rick Hunter: Because Kevin is Kevin. Deathknight: Becuase Ken is so freaking hilarious. Hands down. James: And who doesn't want to meet James? James is pretty cool. He lives close to a BEACH! Deedlit, Anna, Amibasuki: HA! Just kidding! ^_^ I know you all in real life already. The Harlequin, Ravenstorture, and Jesus Chicken: I've always wanted to meet them. They seem like a pretty cool group. I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting aLOT of my friends, so this list isn't final! You'll just have to check back with me...
24. I just went out and bought this series and I must say, it cuts kind of close to being pornographic! It's about this chic named Miyuki who is late for school one day (Yes, it's a parody to Alice in Wonderland) and she falls in this hole, along with the "White Rabbit" aka Playboy Bunny, into Wonderland. It goes crazy from there but all of the characters are these ultra-sexy females who all want her. And then there's also Mirrorland, which is basically the same antics. Anyone else seen it and liked it? I liked it...plus the characters looked so good because it was made by CLAMP and I'm always a big fan! My avatar is of the "Door knob" girl... Heh.

Noir

I've heard of the series, but I've never got to watch it. Although I did get the first episode DVD in my new issue of NewType last night. After I watch it, I'll post again and tell you what I think!
