I never really had a family comprised of "members" of the OB. Basically it was me married to PiroMunkie and our five kids: Anna, Chester, Dexter, Orlando, and Pearl. There is, however, the OB Royalty, which is a pretty big tree and there is list around here somewhere, with people like Sara as the Royal Cynic and Ken the Knight (my dah-ling) and Neil the Royal Executioner (always did such a wonderful job, dear). Oh yeah, and I'm James's First Wife. And that it important, lol.

Anime Dating Anime Characters: Would You?
Queen Asuka replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Otaku Central
I'm a guy, and the one anime girl I would never date is Ed from Cowboy Bebop. Is that original or what, lol? Ed seems like a guy to me and she is just ....not my type. lol. I don't think any guy would date ED. Plus she's annoying.
Not to mention dating her would be like dating a five year old. Man, that's pretty disgusting, lol. -
One anime parody scene I saw recently was in Reboot Season 4- the My Two Bobs movie special. It was an odd Pokemon/DBZ parody in which they made a joke about how long characters in anime take to hit someone when doing a flying kick, heh. And there was more- take-offs of Pokemon monsters and attacks, DBZ hairstyles and what-have-you.
YOU STILL GET TO WATCH REBOOT? I am so JEALOUS. It was my favorite show back when I used to watch it and it came on tv and all that good stuff. There was an episode where they had a bot that looked exactly like Sailor Moon and as it raised it's wand up in the air, it got smashed. Yeah, see, now I remember an anime making-fun-of-type-thing.

I have NEVER and will never watch Evangelion dubbed. I know that Tiffany Grant does the voice of Asuka and I absolutely DESPISE the way she speaks! She ruined what were so many potentially good characters because they sound like these rough and scratchy tomboys! Okay, so maybe SOME characters work well with that voice, but Asuka, NO. Bleh.

James, you are so awesome. Thanks for moving me back one. And now I actually have time within the next day or two to work on my post and get it up. I know that it doesn't have to be long, but I'm trying to come up with something creative, as it's pretty much free reign. I really like HC's post, it was pretty interesting. I'm glad he got the folks on the boat and I didn't have to write that part. ^_^; So yes, look forward to seeing my post SOON. Sorry for the hold up.

Freakazoid? Are you sure? I never remember that show poking fun at anime. Maybe I missed something...

I have ALWAYS wanted to cosplay, and I can't believe that I haven't done it already. I guess the reason is because I don't have the time or resources available to me because if I was going to do it, I would do it RIGHT and not a halfway job. I always wanted to do Asuka Langely just because she was my favorite anime character for such a long time and it would be pretty easy considering I used to have the same hair as her. But nowadays it seems that she is so overdone and not even in a good way. I REALLY want to do Chi from Chobits. She is so beautiful and so gentle and I would KILL for her wardrobe. *Sigh* I guess it's just a dream of mine. There is an anime club here at UGA called UGAnime and they are pretty big into cosplaying, but I've never gotten around to going to meetings or joining because it's on Monday night, which is a pretty hectic night for me. Maybe someday, though.
ADV:[/B'] For the most part, ADV's dubs are very, very good. I appreciate how the company caters to dub fans as well as sub fans, but dislike the fact that it feels the need to produce low-quality artboxes (which are pretty much pointless products if they can't even withstand a light tap). ADV representatives and employees are more active online than reps from most other companies, and they behave well even when people give them a lot of flack. When glitchy DVDs receive widespread distribution, as was the case for Voices of a Distant Star and the RahXephon movie, ADV's customer service usually responds quickly and keeps consumers updated on the status of a replacement program.
I think it's funny that you like ADV so much, because they were the first company that came to my head that I DIDN'T like. I hate buying their anime unless it is subbed because all the dubbing makes me want to scream. The only one that I can tolerate (and only because it slowly grew on me) is Nadesico. Pretty much the rest are annoying. I don't know, I think it's because they constantly use the same cast over and over again.
Its realy annoing in england, cowboy bebop got taken off the tv almost 2 years ago, along with some other anime shows, almost every anime fan in england wants it back but the TV people just don't listen! Whats wrong with the world today!!
Well, I guess what's wrong is that everyone in the world is not wanting to watch anime ALL the time. Obviously the show wasn't doing that well or I'm sure they wouldn't have taken it off the air. If you want to watch it so badly, you are your friends (I assume) should pool some money and buy the series and that way you can watch it whenever you want. Or you can move to America, where anime is the new "in" thing. Sucks for us oldies.

Yes, Tony, your chapter was REALLY GOOD. I read it relatively quick, despite the length of it. It freaked me out, especially when he killed the cat. I'm such an animal lover, so I was squirming just a bit. I LOVED how in the end it was the chic who started the fire and ruined his big moment for him. Classic. More later, got to run.

I just bought an XBox the other day, and so far the only game suggested to me is Halo. Okay, I get it, I need Halo. But I'd also like to know what's good. I'm pretty open when it comes to genre, so I just want to know what's a good quality game, and what makes it so good. Please help me out, guys. I've been a PS2 girl for so long, I'm finally coming out of the dark.

Well, the things I want to say about Kill Adam are basically things that I've already discussed with people within the RPG. I just find it really fun to participate in because it transcends the movie so much. It's not merely an RPG based on a movie, it's its very own story. I like how EVERY character gets the full treatment and each and every one of them gets developed. That was one things that bothered me in Kill Bill: Why was it so necessary to know so much about the past of O-Ren, but not Vernita Green? What exactly DO we know about Vernita Green? You see what I mean? I also like how the chapter system is set up because it allows you to post on your own time and not have to worry about keeping up with the entire story and worrying about getting behind. And speaking of, it's my turn to post. I really don't do a rough draft or plan out ideas, though, I just go with what my heart is inspired to do at the time. I guess it's sort of like improv. It's how I wrote all my papers in high school: I never prepared an outline or thought out what I was going to do, I just did it. Anywho, that's my first post. I guess I'll post again later and talk about individual chapters that I like and what I like about them. Whoo.
Ack, I hate it when friends do that. Geez, who needs "girl-clothes" anyways?? Anime is SO much better. My suggestion: Get new friends
Who needs girl clothes? I do. And I'm sure once you get old enough and realize you want them, anime wont be as important to you anymore. I can't even remember the last time I bought an anime DVD. Of course, I still buy manga all the time (It's much cheaper and easier to find time to read), so my suggestions would be the series that you can get both of. Most recently I read all of the Ceres: Celestial Legend books that have so far been released. It was REALLY good and very interesting. It leaves you hanging quit a bit at the end, but it's a good read. The series is described as a horror series, but I don't know if I'd go that far. My sister has all of the DVDs and she says that they are just as good as the books, so I suggest those. And if you enjoy Fushigi Yugi, then you'll probably like Ceres. Or vice versa. Yu Watase has a certain flair about her that I really like. And then there's Chobits. Read the manga before you watch the TV series, as the TV series is very watered down and just not as deep. Chobits is probably my favorite series, though. I'm a huge fan of CLAMP. And the classic I would suggest is Evangelion. And I'm sure someone else already mentioned it, so I suggest picking it up. It messes with your mind. Well, I hope that was of some help, and I advise you to spend at least some of your money on girl clothes. That is, unless you prefer wearing boys outfits, but to each their own.

Well, one thing that I love about the OtakuBoards that has failed to be mentioned yet is ADAM'S ANGELS! We started a good while ago, comprising of me, BabyGirl, and Lady M. Deb and Jen are around somewhere, and I write to Jenna all the time. So far I've drawn a picture for each year that we've been established, with Sara doing the coloring for this year's picture. It's AWESOME. ^_^ And hey, how awesome is it that PiroMunkie and I have been married for two and a half years? ^_^

I don't know what's going on, but in my last myO entry, it wont let me read my comments. It keeps saying that I must be a registered and logged-in member, which I am. I can read the comments on all my other posts and on other people's. I can comment on other's too. Please fix this so I can read what people said to me. ;_;

Well, I'll tell you what has cut down on my OB time: getting a job. I've been in college for almost a year now and that hasn't really hindered me, but when I got a job, I found myself never getting to a computer even to check my email. I am so tired and ill after work all I want to do is go back to my apartment and sleep. Last night I actually went out dancing at a club, but that's the first time I've been "out" in forever. I have so many friends now to keep me company I don't NEED to get on the computer every waking hour. (Which is good, seeing as I don't HAVE a computer). But yes, I go to college at the University of Georgia and I'm a genetics major, so I should be spending a lot of time doing homework and studying, but I don't. And that's where I messed up in my first two semesters and where I plan on fixing this coming up fall. My summer class is pretty easy, so I'm just getting prepared as possible.

I can't say I've ever lost a friend because I'm Mormon. In fact, I have more friends now than I ever have! ^_^ It doesn' t matter what religion you practice, its how you treat other people. If you sit around all day and try to discuss your ideals on God and such, people usually tend to get bored and leave. Of course, if someone has a question, that's one thing, but those who push their religion on others tend to be the ones to be shunned. Those who PUT THEMSELVES OUT THERE. I went to high school with a girl who was "Christian" and yet no one liked her because she took it to the extreme. I just don't like to interfere with other people's business, but that's just me.

I'm sorry, but I really have a hard time believing the credibility of that statement. Also, if you want to discuss manga, you're in the wrong forum. Unless you can prove what you say, I think you're going to have a really hard time starting a thread to discuss it. Thread Closed.

Rather than delete all of the spammy posts in this thread, I've decided to close it, as it was straying far off-topic and doesn't really generate much discussion. There are many threads in this forum about the recommendations of certain anime movies/series. If you would like to discuss a particular anime series, you can always use the anime directory sticky at the top of the forum to locate your thread of interest. I hope that the people who actually made a worthy reply were helpful to you and that you are sucessful in your search for quality anime. Thread Closed.
