1.
nicholis d,wolfwood from trigun.because he kick's butt,but he is a holy man. :D
I'm sorry, but this post is not very acceptable here on the OtakuBoards. As I said earlier, you need to use correct capitalization. Also, you should be more descriptive in your answer, instead of only posting one sentence. Future posts like this will be deleted. *QA*
2. Well, I believe that this thread has served its purpose. Now you have the answer to your question. Also, please be careful of your post quality, as short and spammy replies tend to be deleted. If you have any more Cowboy Bepop questions, please use the main thread that you can find a link to in the Anime Directory sticky at the top of the page in the Anime Lounge. Thread Closed.
3.
...I'm a strange adult because I still watch cartoons, and anime and well, I color in coloring books.
I am a huge anime fan, I have a box of crayola markers, and a Lisa Frank kittens coloring book. Not to mention within the past month or so I've bought two My Little Ponys and a Barbie. You were saying? lol
4.
I don't read the books... but in the movie it made quite a bit of sense. It's illegal to kill someone... but can you still do it? Of course. So I just figured that despite it being illegal to use magic in those areas, it's still entirely possible. It's within his power to do so. Why would it being illegal completely prevent him from being able to use it? Maybe in the books he simply cannot do that even if he wants to? I don't know.
In the books, when he did magic outside of school, an owl was immediately dispatched warning him that doing magic outside of school again would be punished by expulsion from Hogwarts. It's not that he can't do it, it's that if he does do it, the Ministry of Magic knows immediately. I don't know if that makes much sense, but that's how it works. SO, for him to be sitting under his blanket using his want to light up his spellbooks (wherein the novel he has a flashlight), he would probably have been expelled.
5. I just thought of something that's really been bothering me since I watched the movie (and as I was watching it). How in the world in the beginning of the movie was Harry using magic when it's ILLEGAL for him to do so? I thought that was such a stupid blooper for whoever made THAT big mistake. That fact alone is a key concept to Harry Potter. GEEZ.
6. I am currently retaking Chemistry 1211 in hopes of getting an A the second time around. I really need some nice GPA boosters. Bleh. I also have a job right now at one of the dining halls on campus. It's a pretty good job and pay isn't really all that bad. I also have a very cool co-worker right now who I can forsee is going to become one of my closer friends. And then there's my church calling and my social life. Yep. I plan on going to Florida as soon as I get done with my class in August. ^_^
7. It figures I'd forget what I was going to say as soon as I started typing. Oh yes! Do you all remember the part where Arthur Weasley is in the Leaky Cauldron and he's talking to Harry about how he's going to die and all that stuff about Sirius Black? Well, in the background there were those two posters of Sirius and he was making this insane face and me and my friend Morgan could NOT stop laughing. We were laughing hysterically. It was supposed to be this serious part and yet we just couldn't stop. Morgan's brother thought we were absolutely insane. I didnt' even really hear the dialouge at that part. Fred and George were so HOT in this movie. They were so hot, it made me want to cry. That's what I always imagined the twins to look like.
8.
I'm so mad 'cause I have no idea what the heck your talking about :flaming: !
Kagomefreak, please try to put more thoughts into your post. Posts like this are considered spam, as they do not help the discussion along. If you are angry, perhaps you should be more detailed as to what you don't understand instead of replying in this way. Thank you. *QA*
Waz I Speaking To U? Please Do Mined Ur Own Bussness Thanks I Met The Show Or Wat Every The Dude Infront Waz Sayin
I'm sorry to inform you of this since you didn't realize to notice, but I am one of the moderators of this forum and every single post therein, whether spoken directly to me or not, is my business. You will not speak to me in such a rude way, as you were the one breaking the rules. And in this latest post, your quality is absolutely horrible. Once again, it is considered spam, and once again, it will be deleted. *QA*
9. I'm very interested in the position. And, by looking at the number of submissions I've done myself, you know that I am active in the fanart community. Not to mention the OB community as well. As for being around for a while, it's been 2 and a half years since I first joined this place. ^_^
10.
One thing I noticed is that in Harry Potter, Sirius Black is supposed to be handsome... but then why did they get Gary Oldman to play him? His last name says it all "Old Man" haha! He's not handsome at all! And Remus, in my opinion should look just as good as Sirius, he always does in doujinshi and stuff, but I didn't get a good enough look on the commercail to see what he looks like.[/size']
AMEN SISTER! That is exactly my gripe with what I've seen on the previews. It takes away from the dream like fantasy that you always have about Sirius Black when such an ugly man is playing him. He's supposed to be scruffily sexy. Eh, or something like that. ^_^; Anyway, I'm only going to see the movies just to see what exactly they've done to third book, which ties for my favorite with the fourth one. I have my tickets already, but I'm not going to see it until later on tonight, at 9:55. But I am really excited, despite all the disappointments I'm sure to have with it. Oh well. Books and cinema never really do compare. And for those of you who HAVEN'T read the books, you are SERIOUSLY missing out. I can't even describe to you how much better the books are than the movies. Well, maybe I could, but it would take a pretty long time.
11. I saw the Angel Sanctuary OVA series a couple of years ago and have been anxiously awaiting for the manga to be brought over the US since then, since when I downloaded some of it, I could only look at the pictures and couldn't read a thing. The series has a lot of interesting themes, especially everything in the Biblical sense. I love how all the characters are just absolutely beautiful, like the character of Lucifer. And I also LOVE how Sara and Setsuna fall in love with one another, despite being brother and sister. Yes, it's scary, but it's so freaking romantic at the same time. In the anime, they really left you hanging, so I can't wait to pick up the manga and continue on with the storyline.
12.
I just realized that Emma Watson (Hermione from Harry Potter) would be awesome as Asuka. She's 14 right now herself... what are the NGE producers waiting for?
I don't see it at all, except that the characters are the same age. If Emma's role as Hermione is any indication, then I really couldn't imagine her being Asuka. And another thing, Emma is British and Asuka is German. That wouldn't make very much since, unless they are just going to completely leave out her heritage. I don't know, and maybe they both have reddish hair. But STILL. I would rather some no-name actress with real talent play the role of Asuka Langley.
13.
3.) Tim McGraw-Don't take the Girl[/b']- Starts out like any average country song. A boy is going fishing with his dad and his dad invites this neighborhood girl to go along and the boy doesn't want her to come. In the end the girl dies in childbirth.
I absolutely HATE this song. Yeah, it's sad, but it is so stupid because it got so popular and it was all I heard when I was a kid. Whenever someone was asked what their favorite song was, that one ALWAYS popped up. And seeing as how I knew the song by heart and didn't even LISTEN to country music, I was deeply disturbed. My loathing goes pretty deep. There may be some hidden memory connected to it as well, but I seem to have forgotten. Maybe I WANTED to forget. ^_^; Anywho, songs that make me cry...Well, I've got a few that I listen to when I pretty upset. My two Pearl Jam songs are "Given to Fly" and "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town." Those songs aren't really slow and melancholy, but they just hit me hard everytime. Most Smashing Pumpkins songs also get to me because of a lot of things in my past that are connected to them. Whenever I am REALLY sad, I put "Aeroplane Flies High" on repeat and let myself fall asleep listening to it. All APC songs from Mer de Noms are candidates, depending on my mood. And here, to get cheesy, I'll let you in on the songs that can REALLY get the tears flowing. There are two hymns that we sing at church (I'm LDS in case you don't know) that I really like, and they are I Am a Child of God and Families Can Be Together Forever. I can't even sing these songs to myself without crying. Anywho. ^_^;
14. Yeah, I know I'm not the mod of this forum, but I am a mod, and the first couple of posts in this thread are AWFUL. Can't you do something about it? O_o; The one movie that immediately came to mind when I read the title is The Lion King. That stupid part where Mufasa dies and Simba is just sitting there and trying to help him and watches him fall and he cries and then Scar tries to tell him that it was all his fault when SCAR was the one who knocked Mufasa down! Yes, when I get frustrated, it makes me very upset. I'm sure there are many more movies that have gotten me a little misty eyed, but this is the one that sticks out the most clearly in my head.
15. Well, our wonderful Team Leader PiroMunkie came here and gave you some wonderful advice to keep this thread alive and the very next post completely ignored it. Which irritates me. As new members, the rules should be fresh in your minds, as you were supposed to read them and abide by them when you registered for the OtakuBoards. And in these rules, you would see that favorites thread are HIGHLY discouraged. This is not because we want to take the fun out of posting, but because they usually lead to short and spammy posts like these, which lead to no discussion whatsoever. However, favorites threads that include very detailed descriptions of what you are discussing are sometimes allowed. I'm sorry to say that this thread is not one of them. If you would like exclaim to the world who your favorite bishounens and bishoujos are, your signature is the perfect place. Thread Closed.
16. I never have a Ken doll. Me and my sisters would just use Barbies for males so that we could have strange romance stories and love triangles. I used to have a ton of Barbies and My Little Ponies. I'm really disgusted because I can't find any of them now, despite my many escapades. I think I'm just going to start buying new ones, as the newer Barbies are so cute and have very nice clothes. Barbie of Swan Lake is one of my favorite Barbies of all time. Not to mention the new SuperGirl and Wonder Woman Barbies. ^_^;
17. Name: Rosalynn Age: 17 Class: Thief Description: Tall for a girl, at about 5'7." She has long rose-colored hair that she lets flow down her back. She is very beautiful with mischevious blue eyes. She wears a crimson colored dress with a white apron, trimmed in ruffles. Despite her innocent look, she's quite the bad girl. Bio: Ever since she was a young girl, Rosalynn, called Rose for short, has worked at the village bakery with her mother. She is skilled in the culinary arts and loves to bake things for people. The secret to her stealing technique is more of bribing than anything else. She just lures people with her attractive pastries, and gets what she wants out of them. She's smart and sophisticated, knowing what she wants when she wants it. Although her family has been well off, she still finds is amusing to take from people now and then. She doesn't feel guilty because she always lets the victim know what she's taking and why, and always leaves them a tasty reward. Starting Point: Grillin Village Bakery Primary Weapon: Two small daggers that she keeps hidden in the folds on her skirt, strapped to each leg. Secondary Item: An emerald ring on a silver chain. No one knows where she got this ring, but rumor says that there is something legendary and magical about it. Items: Canteen of water, first aid kit, a package of neatly wrapped cupcakes. Spell(s): Angelcake Hypnosis. Rose uses this spell when she wants something particularly bad. It uses the illusion of a bakery full of fresh-baked cakes to distract the person, which then she takes their items.
18. This has got to be the stupidest question ever asked. Of COURSE the Smashing Pumpkins are a good band and they are a damn good one. They are one of my favorite bands of all time. I don't own any of their albums except the Greatest Hits, but I appreciate most of their songs that I hear. I have a couple of favorites, including "Aeroplane Flies High." Whenever I get depressed, I just put that song on repeat and let it amplify my mood. I can go on and on, but I will wait and see how others respond to this thread.
19.
By the way; I know I use the plushie terms and quite a few inside jokes a lot, but I'm not trying to take credit for any of them. The jokes are and will always remain ideas of those who created them. Just something that came into my mind yesterday.
I love the fact that you use all of the many OB inside jokes in your stories. It's what makes them so entertaining. You don't have to take credit or give credit for them, because they are all a part of the OtakuBoards history and you just can't help but love it. I am so silly sometimes. ^_^ I think it's time for OBBIII.
20. Alright, as interesting as it is to talk about Harry Potter pairings, I think we are drifting a bit off-topic, as this is the anime lounge. And besides, you could use this as a good excuse to start a decent thread in Music, Movies, and TV. :P So go to it! ^_^; *QA*
21. If I had to see two characters get together, I would want it to be Asuka and Shinji. Yeah, I know that's pretty much a long shot considering the depth of their relationship, but it has just always been one of those stupid anime fantasies of mine, which is pretty funny, considering that if Asuka and Shinji were (*laughs heartily*) the last two people left on the earth alive, she'd probably refuse any sort of idea to repopulate the earth with him. She's just so sassy and classy, whereas Rei just seems so dead and dull. She doesn't even have sex appeal, despite the one scene where she was naked, yet people really appeal to her. I don't know what people are thinking. :P Asuka/Shinji all the way.
22. Oh wow, I loved the play on words. It was very amusing. I just can't believe how much of a legacy plushies are nowadays. By the way, when referring to a plushie, they are usually known as "Mini-SoandSo." Such as Mini-Ken, the most famous plushie of all. And let's not forget Mini-Shy who ranaway and eloped with Mini-Asuka, heh. Good times, good times. I can't wait for more chapters, whether the fate of version 7 or no. ^_^
23. Speaking of having them for dinner, I forget to mention our other outdoor "pets." We have three hens and a rooster that run around our backyard in a pack and eat up all the nasty insects. Well, the rooster is EVIL! He attacks any and everyone (my father being the exception) if they go outside in the backyard. I will not even go outside in my own yard without some sort of weapon, such as a really big stick or a bulldog. He's only attacked me one time and that was a while ago before he grew his spurs. He has ran after me a couple of times, but I would scream for my daddy and he would come run him off. My little sister and my dad both have clonked him upset the head and knocked him over, leaving him for dead. There's even be the occassional blood spatter. What's so weird is that ten minutes later, he just gets up and carries on, as if nothing happened! He terrorizes my mother like you wouldn't believe. I hate that rooster. My dad's theory is that he believes that we are his hens and he tries to beat up on us like he does them. Whatever the case, I just know to keep my distance and run like hell. O_o;
24. My feelings are that celebrities are idolized because of their good looks. But, if they weren't celebrities and didn't pay thousands and thousands of dollars to constantly be made over, they just wouldn't look that great. Take Paris Hilton for example. We got to see what she looked like on A Simple Life without her caked on make-up. She just wasn't that cute, was she? I would love to see what I would look like with a "celebrity make-over," where they do my hair and make-up for me, without me having to pay thousands of dollars for it. I'm sure I would blend in just as well as they do. It's sickening.
25. I also LOVE writing letters. I usually write letters to a few people, even though not as frequently as I would like. I know that you, Sara, have sent me a few things, and I owe you something. It's just a matter of finding the perfect thing to send you! My favorite thing is just to write random letters to Ryan. When I was still in high school, I used to just sit in class and write them and then hand them all to him on the weekends whenever I saw him. Now if I write him a letter, I make sure that it's long and meaningful so that it's worth the 37 cents that it costs me to mail it. I also have written tons of letters to John aka PiroMunkie. We were doing really good a while ago sending them back and forth, but I haven't recieved one in a while. I guess now that summer is here, there will be more time for writing letters, as long as working doesn't interfere too much. I also write little letters in cards to Jenna all the time because she no longer frequents to OtakuBoards and I don't want to lose contact with her. Last thing I sent to her was a card that had two old-fashioned ladies on the front and one was blonde and the other a brunette (coincidentally), and it said "Some people think they look as good as we do. But they are wrong." I thought it was pretty funny. ^_^ At Christmastime, I sent out over a dozen cards to people like Josh, James, Tony, Sara, Kenneth, John, Jenna, Deborah, and others. This year it seems that I'll be sending a dozen more. ^_^ Speaking of Tony, he still owes me APC stickers.
