Now that I've finally caught up to the episodes, I'm changing some opinions of mine~ Favorite character: Iwasaki Minami is added into the favorite characters for me. I remember on the first episode when I saw her in the opening... I think it went something like this. (*゚Д゚) ----!!!??? Did I just see... a light-colored short-haired, quiet looking, mature girl?! (゚Д゚≡゚Д゚) ...Panic, panic,[strike]Ohohoho, pant, pant[/strike] ..._〆(・∀・@) She will be my favorite character. Now I need to draw fanart of her~ Also in my list of favorite characters is
the Nagato Yuki cosplayer(?) (Although I think she is secretly Nagato Yuki D:
in episode 16. Since she was definitely my favorite character before. Favorite reference: Episode 16, when
Konata cosplays as Haruhi, and the Nagato Yuki

Well, the GameCube is now a bit obsolete since the Wii came, especially since it's almost like the Wii comes with a GameCube itself. Some games I would suggest are pretty much the mainstream ones like Super Smash Bros. Melee and perhaps Soul Calibur (any of them). But I'm not sure what kind of genre you like, although it seems you enjoy adventure/action games? Since you like Zelda and RE. Last time I checked, Majora's Mask wasn't for the GC though. Sorry D:
>_> I've seen plenty of guys dressed as Haruhi and/or doing the Hare Hare Yukai dance. I am still not convinced.
Then I guess you'll have to wait until my 100th post to see a maskless picture =3 I have it with me already. It's something I took at Barnes and Nobles. But meh, I guess I'll wait. -
Between the size of that pic, the Konata mask, androgonous coat, and the fact that you just admitted to looking at LS doujin makes it hard to tell if you're even a girl, much less what you look like XD Give us a real pic! :p
Androgonous...? D: Fine, I'll give in. ._. Here's a picture of me at an anime convention. I'm the Haruhi one. The costume is way too big on me. But it's not androgonous D: -
As for my personal favorite among villains in videogames, I still owe my heart to Edea from Final Fantasy VIII. There should be more of her ilk; beautiful but corrupt sorceresses forcing all countries under her control by a flick of a finger. Sure, the plot became quite messed up by the end, but for the parts featuring Edea, I loved every second! And she was temporarily playable, as well! XD

^-^' Your first picture link doesn't work. Although you look great in the two others that I saw! And yey, 51st post. Meaning, this is like, the first post of mine as an OtakuBoard member~ Time for me to celebrate~ ヘ(^_^ヘ)(ノ^_^)ノ Anyways. Because I don't want this to just be a regular post, I decided to post a picture of myself. I would've written a story or a poem, but when I reference people and write their names down, they die within 40 seconds. And I could've drawn a picture, but I've already done that in my first post. Here it is: I kid. Once I take a real picture, I'll edit it onto here. But appreciate the above image and be warned, because it is said that when people see my face, they die seven days later from a heart attack or something (・∀・') You people don't care what I look like though (since no one really does), I'm still a newbie lol. Not that I'm posting a picture on my 51st post just to say "omg posting a pic on my 51st post will be so cool because i look so cool lololol!!!111one". Because I don't, and I do recall someone saying I was ugly before (to my face. 9,000+ people probably have said it behind my back lolol). And I have nothing against that; frankly, I agree (Not that I'm expecting comments like "Oh, you're pretty-" *gag* and *dies*. I'd rather have the truth~). I'm just bored. Plus, cosplay is one of my hobbies~ Edit: Another warning: One time I posted a picture of myself in a thread like this on another (very active) forum. A few hours later, the topic died. No one has posted since. |・ω・`) Edit 2: It must be done. Picture. -
Anime does anybody know a good online cosplay store except ebay?
Konata replied to a topic in Otaku Central
Cospatio The one that I would highly recommend because of the awesome quality of the costumes is Cospatio. You see the name "Cospatio" all over the Layers magazines, and their store in Shibuya district is a cosplay heaven. Although a small shop, once you enter, everything you see is cosplay. In the middle is a big rack(?) filled with a bunch of costumes with labels indicating the series. On display are the hottest/new items (when I went there, the Suzumiya Haruhi uniform and Mikuru bunny suit were on display), located right in front of the entrance. On the walls are wigs, more cosplay, and other accessories like ears and what not. There's even a small drssing room and a TV with some random anime on. But let's get onto the site >_> The good: -Best quality cosplays I've seen. -Cospatio clothing is a very good brand. -Large variety of costumes. The bad: -Might be considered a bit pricy to some. Usually full costumes (meaning top and bottom or the one piece) range from $300 - $400 USA dollars. -I don't know if the same applies to the website, but I'm sure it does. Cospatio does not ship internationally. Only in Japan. But if you have a friend in Japan that can ship it to you, that'll work too. (Might want to pay them back though, S&H can get pretty expensive.) Lawrara Shop I don't know much about this one, because someone on another forum had just told me about it. She said she bought her Suzumiya Haruhi costume there for a relatively good price. I personally don't care for the site's design though, but I have to admit, the comments feature is pretty nifty. The good: -Cheaper prices. Usually things like a Bleach shinigami outfit or a D-Grayman uniform cost around $110. Although things are usually on sale, and in some cases (like the SuzuHaru uniform, the price can lower to around $10. (SuzuHaru outfit only costs $50) -They have a "custom size" feature. The bad: -Most costumes are directed towards females only (although you can note whether or not you are male in the custom size thing) -Standard quality costumes -Not many choices for cosplay costumes. Hope I helped. ^-^' -
The worst day for me was most likely the day where I found out I forgot to take an online midterm for my Political Science course. Because of that, the highest grade I could get a B, and that's why I freaked out a lot. My GPA is probably one of my most important priorities, so I ended up choosing to drop the class for a W. Although I did learn my lesson. I promised myself I will maintain my 4.0 GPA and will never get another W.

You can always try anime conventions (Dealer's Room/Exhibit Hall), shopping at Japanese CD Stores or places like Kinokuniya Bookstores, etc. Or, online stores.
-
There's also the "Buy a game on the Wii and the PS3" and stuff, lol. You wouldn't need CDs to do that. But you have a rather limited choice of what games you want though.

Manga Question for the Otaku Anime/Manga Artist.
Konata replied to Saya Minatsuki's topic in Otaku Central
I find inspiration by looking at other manga artist's works and listen to music in order to help me draw. When I have all of my supplies out in front of me and a larger space to work on, that also seems to help me. As for music, I tend to try to listen to the type of music that would suit the theme of the drawing itself. So, for bloody or gory images, something crazy by MAXIMUM THE HORMONE might be played. If it's a happy image, something upbeat like any of the SuzuHaru single CDs would suffice. I don't know if that actually helps me but I heard it helps get others into the mood, so I do it too. -
I like them for their "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" Bleach song. It's pretty fun to sing lol. I loved their Engrish. As for some other songs, I'm not sure if I've listened to any others though. I'll probably YouTube them or something later.

I have three cats and one bird. One of my cats is afraid to go outside and although he looks like a orange tabby, one of his whiskers is black, while every other whisker is white. I think it's very cute and unique though. Also, my cats are usually very friendly. When I had my hamster, it'd sometimes escape and approach the cats. However, they wouldn't harm it. As for the bird, I think it's weird because of all of the strange noises it makes, but I guess that's natural.

I'm not against cosmetic surgery because it can really help out a person. But I don't plan on undergoing cosmetic surgery, simply because I'd probably feel uncomfortable doing it. I mean, your new look wouldn't be "you." Plus I would rather use my money for higher priorities of mine like education.

Writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Konata replied to Lady Asphyxia's topic in Creative Works
...Wow, 4 1/2 hours and you're done? It's been... two hours since I got the book, and I haven't even started. Although the mignight event was long (We came to Barnes & Nobles around 6PM), my friends and I added a little Haruhiism into the event, and it turned out to be really fun. -
I take it back, I think I'm a 9~ I got an external hard drive today. And also, I'm going to the Harry Potter event soon. But, I plan to add a little Haruhiism into it ;D.

That is true, DX does sound cool. It gives a more, technological feel to your name =P Oh, as for my username connecting to me (forgot this last post, might as well add it here), eh... Well since Konata is an anime/game/Internet/manga/etc fan, and I'm posting on the OtakuBoards, it sorta fits the occasion, one can say. ยด・ω・` -
You don't have to be good at DDR to enjoy it. Many people I know just have fun doing it and when we fail a song, we don't care. We just shrug it off and keep going. No sense in not playing just because you lose or you're not as good as others. I wanna get into Taiko drumming games, because I liked Donkey Konga and I love percussion freaks. I wonder if there is a machine around here in town I could go to?
Yeah, I still enjoy DDR, but I just don't dance as often because the arcade is about a fifteen minute drive away. And I can't drive yet, lol. For your Taiko game situation, it really depends, I know there's a few Asian arcades out there in the US or wherever you live. For example, there's one in Los Angeles with it.
Probably the other thing that we need to try and eliminate this time around if we do an Introduction Forum as opposed to Newbie Lounge, which screams all kinds of everything welcomed, is the in-jokes used by greeters. I wasn't aware that was part of what brought down the old forum until I read the Otakupedia article.
I totally agree. Inside jokes might act as an opposite effect when welcoming members. Instead of making the newbies feel like they're welcome, they might get discouraged or assume that the inside jokes are part of the boards' daily vocabulary or something. And that won't be good, since they'll probably some to a conclusion that they wouldn't fit in. (,,゚Д゚)
After all Alex, we were all new here on OB at one stage and I think each of us has brought something new and original to the site, which is still the case today or so I'd imagine.
I could be wrong, but I think Retribution was referring to those people (the 9/10 fraction) who would introduce themselves, maybe post in one or two topics, and then leave. Since there's usually a lot of them, at any forum.

I'm going to say I'm an 7.5 because I think of that as an 75%, a C. To me, average happy. I'm pretty much always like this. Usually finding something to do, satisfying myself. But not really excited or uber happy. And definitely not depressed. I think I might be at a B- or B if my first driver's training lesson didn't scar me.
-
I agree with Ever_Change, your work has really improved. The previous picture seems very spread out, a bit random, and the characters don't really seem to connect with each other. Yet on your most recent one, all the characters seem to be more together. They also seem to have more presonality. I totally admire your style, especially the loose pen stroke flow of it. Good luck on your projects! I'm sure you'll do great.

User Names: Because Repeat Threads Are Good For You!
Konata replied to SunfallE's topic in General Discussion
I lack any sort of creativity so of course, all of my names are based off of something. My username is based off of Izumi Konata from Lucky Star. Why her name? I just like her character. I might have chosen Akira or Minoru Shiraishi but Akira is a common name that could be mistaken for a lot of characters (or even the Akira series) and as for Minoru... That's like naming myself Aya Hirano or some other voice actor/actress, ha-ha. Plus, I'm a female, so it would be a bit awkward. Tsukasa is another variable but I always think Tsukasa from .hack//SIGN or another series =P As for other choices that don't relate to Lucky Star, I usually pick "Qoo" or "Tokachi". Qoo because I like the Qoo drink (and the mascot and song), and Tokachi from the phrase "tokachi tsukuchite" from one of iDOLM@STER's songs sung by Ami Futami. But I didn't choose those simply because I don't like #1 as much, and I already placed tokachi in my user title. Other screennames include: Majidejima (a random pun that I liked) and Illya Einzbern (Illyasviel von Einzbern from the Fate series. I didn't like her much as a character, but her name is so fun to say.) Mashimaro Ichigo is another, but that's because I like marshmallows and strawberries, as well as the anime Ichigo Mashimaro. Changing my username? Probably not. I like the name Konata, not only because of the character, but because of how it sounds. -
I have the same problem. I have my plot and my character, but I dont know where to start. :animesigh Ive drawn characters over and over, drawn profiles and written personalities for each one but, I just cant start! Can someone give me a tip? :animecry:
Same here, ha-ha~ Although I think in my case, it's just because I'm so lazy. I'll work on the first page, but whenever I do, I'm never satisfied. Then I'll lose inspiration, motivation, etc. That's usually what causes me to leave so many of my projects unfinished. As for your conflict, maybe you should just start, even though you don't know where to. It's better to try than to not try at all, and if you're not satisfied with it, try again in a new direction, perhaps~ Sorry, I hope that helped a little. ^-^;
