When I am sparring with my friends on in the dojo, I usually, for some weird reason, mimic the sound effect of a punch or a sword without even noticing it depending of if I am doing Karate or Ken-jutsu lessons, all of that makes my opponent tease me for a while after the lessons. I can't quite get rid of this habit.

Let's talk about drug addiction(very serious discussion)
IHZ replied to FLCLrules's topic in General Discussion
Yeah I pretty much agree on this. not many peoples take drugs for their "medical" or "health" good nowaday. they usely do them to go on big high trips which makes them look and act foolishly. however, I've tried some to my own regret in my early teenager years and it doesn't really interest me, Pot makes me go really really sick. however, the only drugs I've done is alcohol and pot, I rejected pot but since I live in Canada and that I am 18, thus I can legally drink, I sometime like to drink a bit without abusing or even geting drunk. I usually do it when I meet up with my parents on a summer afternoon or when I'm with friends talking and enjoying life. I don't say that with pride but since I more precisely live in Quebec. Beer is somehow a tradition here and it's almost a tradition to take up a fresh beer when meeting with an old buddy:animeswea -
My prime passion in life is drawing, I gather a lot of pride from my work and I actually want to become an illustrator and is currently looking for such opportunities for such studies. I am also a lot into Martial arts, this is also one of my passions where I can express myself through the art of combat. I'm doing pretty well as now even though I am still far from mastery of the art I am currently learning.I am also a lot into sports, musculations and physical exercices in overall And finally My third main passion is Anime and Videogaming. Both makes a lot of influence into my life. I learned most of my basics of english through Videogames and developped my art style through anime.

Pro Life or Pro Choice? Mature discussions please
IHZ replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
I agree too. While I have been a fervent christian for a huge part of my life, I never thought that the choice of one man was to be decided by God. I'm not against the catholic church and I respect everyone who devote their life into their god because it needs courage and lots of faith, but I believe that when a religion is controling your life and worst, your own free will of speech and all of your opinions, it is bad. Because a person should have the right to have his own opinion no matter what religion he believes in. I can't judge Abortion because I don't know enough about how it is done or what kind of sufering one must go through during such an operation, but I agree that it should be taken as a last resort after the person in question had thought her choice very carefully, but in the end it all rsolve around their choices and we cannot really judge them for that if we don't personally know the reason for such an act. -
Well in all and all I'm glad to see I can have smart conversations with fans here. I know I'm new and I've been searching over the different forums to see where I can make a biref introduction...is there a place on this board?

Wow... 2 pages already? I didn't think that so many peoples would reply to this, well I've read most of all yours posts and seriously you've changed my view out of it. I must admit I was planning on getting a bunch of hatemail from everyone who would reply, I'm really sorry for I have misjudged you all. I didn't suscribe to the forum to make rants but since the website is called "otaku" I wanted to spread the message here, you're all very smart and think how all true fans should think. I am, however, used to the real 'stupid' fans who called themselves otakus without knowing it's meaning but when I used to tell them they would enter in all CAPS LOCK mode to tell me how I suck that I know nothing of Anime and that I'm just a dip***. I'm happy to see that I finally stumbled on a good forum with peoples who actually think smoothly.

It's not that outrageous but when I visit China twon in Montréal I constantly buy posters of my favorite animes even though I don't have any place left on my walls.

Do you even KNOW what an Otaku is? In Japan they use this term to insult all these annoying fanboys and fangirls who take obsession into something like anime and Videogame. Don't take me wrong though. I am obessed by anime and videogame to a regular state, however the term Otaku is used to describe all these 30 years old basement dwellers (boys and girls) who never leaves their house, and spend all their money on anime and videogames merchandise and have absolutely no social life whatsoever, It is also used by some japanese to make fun of the Americans Fangirls and Fanboys who are as obsessed by Japan as their own Otaku are obsessed over videogames and anime. Now here is a little Copypasta from a popular encyclopedia website: Otaku means "honourable house" and is a very polite term for "you" (with relative strangers); in the fandom sense, it was lightly insulting in Japanese due to the sarcasm involved in using a cold honorific on obsessives who probably don't deserve it (Japanese people are all amnesiacs and require constant reminding of who they are). Originally referring only to train-spotters and the like, the "house" part has caused it to drift into also being used as a heavily derogatory term for geeks who don't leave their houses. It is generally written only in katakana, to distinguish it from the non-derogatory use of the word, and to emphasize the fact that only stupid foreigners would ever take pride in such a label. I'm making this topic for the sole purpose that it annoy me to see all these peoples calling themselves otaku when they don't know what that means, I'm not trying to make fun of anyone or be evil. I'm only saying that by calling yourself an otaku, you are making fun of yourself and if you were to use this term in Japan to refer yourself as an anime fan then you ARE insulting yourself. Be careful and use the term "fan" rather than Otaku. Otaku is amean thing.
