Romantic thing Lying on my back with a very close friend of the opposite sex sitting next to me, and gazing at the stars, talking the night away... Depressing thing Having leave all the friends I made behind to live here in England. *sigh* It's just not the same, and I'm so bored 'cos I love to socialise. That's why I joined the boards... ...and blah, blah:babble: :babble: -
Originally posted by DuoGod of Death If.... If you were only allowed one possesion what would it be and why??? If the law said that you had to eat bugs to be able to drive would you? If you could only choose one, whos life would you save? If a man had a knife to you and said "strip" would you? If the love of your life came up to you and said they would go out with you, under one condition you get rid of your best friend who would you pick? Thats all I can think of right now...I will think of some more later....(So I was bored sue me)
1/ A doodle pad... 2/ I'm not THAT keen on driving. Damn my bug weakness... 3/ I'd sacrifice my own so everybody else could live. That way, though I'd die, I'd be saving more than just one person 4/ I'd ask him "Are you really gay, and why do you find me so attractive?" If he persisted, then I'd have to strip. I'ts pointless to lose your life in vain. 5/ I'd pick my best friend, for the love of my life wouldn't be the love of my life anymore if she asked me to do that.
Originally posted by Duo Maxwell I'm a chick... just got a name that belies me :D
OOPS!!!:o :o Well, at least it goes to show that girls don't only pick girlish names (I'm not being sexist, but you can tell a girl from a boy, like Alexandra and alexander). It's the same on the boards. But, WOAH   ,what a plot twist!
Originally posted by Manick Sorry D.Dark. Its hard to tell peoples emotions on these things and the feelings they are trying to convey. I thought you were being sarcastic. BTW, I've only studied economics for like 1 month! ;)
Don't worry about it! I forogt that it was difficult, but it doesn't matter anyway. Hey, and join the club man! 1 month economists!
Originally posted by Manick jesus sorry guys forget i posted this thread. it was a bad decision on my part. I don't study economics. I had this question because I argued this question to my teacher for 3 days exactly the way you guys are arguing with me now. I came up with every possible solution, asked many educated people, and still could not get this dude to move on his earlier decision. The correct awnser is b. However, I beleive that the correct answer is a, because you haven't "purchased" the ball yet. All that you have done was "decided" to buy it. The only thing that has been a cost here is the time spent "deciding" Nothing else is an opportunity cost until the cost is certain, which loosing the money is not. I could "decide" to buy it, goto the store, find out that the store is closed, and then just as easily "decide" not to buy it. Those are my thoughts. Just forget about this thread please!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know it would strike up so much emotion and that is not what I intended for this post to cause.
You think that I was ticked off!  No, no, I meant it as a serious question! Don't take it the wrong way, and don't regret that you put the thread up either. It's the first time I've seen an economics thread, and it's alright. Yay, at least I got the answer right. I've only been studying economics since September last year.
Originally posted by Blanko_el-miez CANCER ahhh i dont want to think about it DEATH ahh dont want to think about that either *sigh* i hope i dont have cancer and if i do though when they remove the sist(cyst) the cancer will be removed unless it spread somewhere else too then i might be in trouble
Actually I wasn't thinking about those, and I didn't want to say it to make you feel uncomfortable. I don't wanna think about that either. You just have your rest, and it will all go well. Everyone on the boards is with you in spirit "Right guys?"
Originally posted by stormwing some...me and friends put it together
So now it's a group of Valentine's haters? I don't see what the problem is really. Valentine's is just a another day in the year, like Halloween. It's just the spirit of the time that makes it Valentine's. Still a cool poem/rap though
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve All 4 of the answers are correct... like I said, economics is a matter of opinion, not factual statements.
Thank you! I don't like being told I'm wrong, but it doesn't matter. Manick, how long you been studying economics?
-
Good luck girl! I know what polysistic ovaries are (Someone I know has them), and it does sdound nice at all. Wish you the best of luck;) , and hope that it prevents something bad happening (I hope you know what it is)
Originally posted by Manick Imagine you decide to purchase a soccer ball for $35.00. Which of the following is an opportunity cost of your decision? Ok. This is an interesting Economics question that I had about 3 months ago. (Yes, I know, I should let it go) but I have a particular awnser that I think it is and I was wrong. I would like to get your opinions on it and then I will give you my awnser and the right awnser after a while.. I will also explain why I think my answer is right. Thanks!
And....? Where are the following? Anything can be an opportunity cost, as TN stated. I would NEVER BUY A $35 soccer ball, so the opportunity cost for that is that if I but the soocer ball, then the next best thing that I have gone without is... A video game Many CDs Many books Many comics Etc. It is far too broad...
Originally posted by ~Videl~ I don't know abot the worst but the stupidest question I've ever been asked was "Why do you wear those glasses?"
I've been asked that, and then again I also would have liked to ask myself why I ever thought of buying and wearing geeky, round glasses. Oh, well... Or, ~V~, it could mean that they think you look better without glasses. It's happened to me.
Originally posted by Duckie There was this guy who didn't know me, even though he knew I existed, through my sister. So I talked to him one day, and he asked me who I was. I said I was Rachel, his friend Olivia's sister. And he said, oh, okay, and we talked for awhile. 4 days later, I walked up to him and talked to him again. He asked me who I was. Thinking he could have possibly had a terrible memory, I told him I was Rachel. He says, Rachel who? :bawl: I don't talk to him anymore.
I feel like layghing, but that would be mean. Did he really not know who you were. He could have been really dopey like my friend, and forgotten everything. Maybe he'd had amnesia
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh sure i like it. i wouldn't have picked it if i didn't like it. besides, "Lady Macaiodh" is my rightful name, anyway.
For someone with an IQ of 172, that is a really basic answer. What do you mean, it's your rightful name? How? And how did you come up with it?
-
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh all of the above, duh. & make it as expensive as possible, heheh.:naughty:
Is money really that important? You can always find something crap and expensive, so I don't know... Just buy her something nice, but buy her something she'd like. You should know the deal.
-
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh 172 but i haven't gotten tested since i was about 11 or so so it could be wrong.
That is very damn high when compared to my 155 or so (And I thought that was good). You're very brainy, then. And, about IQ, you don't need to be good in school and get good grades to be smart, you just need a memory and cramming. To have a high IQ, you have to be intelligent all the time.

Name: [Removed by Request] Age: 14 Grade: Well, back in ol' England, I'm year 10 Sex: Male Location: London, England Interests: Girls, music, going on OtakuBoards, chilling with friends, and generally having a good time Is this like a dating agency or something?
-
Now, I know that there is a sister-site of the OtakuBoards called OtakuPoetry, but that's on hi-atus, so I'd like to post a poem up here, so that it can be read for Valentine's Day. I'd just like an opinion of my poem, and feel free to use it for your dates (If you have one). I won't mind. Just read all of it, and you'll realize why it's a Valentine's poem. "The Star" I sit underneath the black velvet sky, While the sky stands ablaze, With nature's candles, Lit every night for the rest of eternity. I'd stare up at the deep night, And behold it with wonder, For that which I see, Happened many millenia ago. With the stars lies the cresent moon, There, and yet not, For I have no room for it's regard, As my thoughts lie elsewhere. There in the black heavens, Lies beauty incomperable, A sight among sights, To behold it is to be blessed. A star shining brighter than the other, A vista, A fleeting moment forever caught, One of a kind. Then I look at you, There sitting next to me, And I ask myself, Are you not that very same star?
