Well, I did say in my first post that we plan on having different image sizes eventually. :) Also, kind of harsh about the "expecting other sites to conform to it" - I didn't pick an arbitrary giant size and then go lobby sites to deal with it :p I tried to pick a size that fit all of the major anime sites' guidelines, and I've also made it pretty clear here that I never expected special treatment (I only found out about this cause a user pointed it out to me - but I've never posted in an attempt to get you guys to change your rules). Your rules stand here - they shouldn't change on my account, and I don't want them to unless you decide to. :) Never had any other stance.

Eh, I don't think they are just "noisy statboxes" (especially since you can also have it display your top 5 anime or currently watcihng... besides, you can choose your BG and design that as artistic as you want ;) mine is boring because, well, I suck at graphics XD Again saying this not because I made those sigs, but what I've seen in some forum is dimensions that take images by themselves differently than images with text. So for example, you can have a sig x pixels high period (say, 150), which can be a combination of just text, text + images, or just images, as long as they stay within the set total height. Some people choose to put 7 lines of text, others one tall image, etc.

(only saying this for informational purposes, not because I have any desire for you to change your rules/dimensions here) Cropping the sig kind of ruins the point of the feature. ;) They aren't static, they are dynamic... dynamically generated depending on what your anime list looks like on the site. As an example, here's mine: [img]http://www.anime-planet.com/users/images/signatures/sothis.jpg[/img] If I update my list, the sig automatically regenerates itself - users are given the html/bbcode needed to paste it into their forum signatures, but if they crop and save the image elsewhere, it (of course) won't dynamically update, which is the whole point of the feature ^_^. The other sig options are top 5 anime and currently watching, which also dynamically update depending on profile updates. *goes back to browsing the anime sections XD*

Now it's a deep burgundy wine color, only in the tips. Saw some pics of tats in the thread - heh, if people want to see mine I'll post em, though they tend to get fairly polarized reactions ;) (my entire back is a cyborg exoskeleton, and i have a few other large cyborg ones as well... people either love them or think it's crazy XD)

I suck at introductions! Hi, I'm sothis :p someone pointed out a thread to me here so I wandered on over, and decided to sign up and post and such too. Let's see... well, I like anime (duh), love console RPGs, cooking, and coding. I run Anime-Planet, and that takes up the majority of my free time - the rest is usually taken up with a combination of games or TV/movies from blockbuster (currently watching the Sopranos, which I hadn't seen till now). Top 5 anime include Gungrave, FMA, and Armitage. I'm big into sci fi and intelligent stuff, and good horror (RARE) - not so much shoujo, ecchi, or old school mecha. Hajimemashite!

Heh, I'm actually not playing much right now because the husband is immersed in 360 games (finishing up Halo 3, Assassin's Creed)... but in the spare moments I rented Cooking Mama for Wii just to see how much it sucked (it does), and am finishing up Revenant Wings for DS. There haven't been enough good and recent RPGs coming out :/

You know, besides old school atari RPGs like Ultima 5, I think the only game I've spent that much time on is Dragon Warrior 7 (107 hours) - my now ex spent about 140 on it, as he wanted to get the monster town and such completed. Xenogears is my second, but that was around 90 hours.

So does this get much better once you get past, say, five episodes? I was super into seeing this, as I had the impression it would be like a sci fi version of Spirited Away. I found it to be fairly boring though and uninteresting, and gave it up after only three episodes. Should I pick it back up again?

I watched the first volume of Tokyo Majin, and thought it was pretty much awesome. Unfortunately I've heard it gets kind of crappy over time, so that is not exciting. :/ The feeing I got from watching it was a lot like watching the first volume of Air Gear - it just had some sort of coolness that I really got into.

Well, I run Anime-Planet and this thread was pointed out to me by one of the random users (not Gecko ^_^ but hi!) - anyways, as I like joining anime forums I decided to sign up, so I might as well mention something here. :p It's unfortunate I missed your sig limits here - when creating the default size I went to most of the major anime sites and checked their rules, and went with the smallest height limit I could find. Ah well! Anyways, eventually we'll have other size options - though I stil think the default size looks the most awesome ;) Anyways, off to the other anime sections for some fun posting!
