New Members: Introduce Yourselves Here
Joe Strummer replied to Charles's topic in General Discussion
My name's Matt and I'm 21. I used to be a member here forever and a day ago under the name Son Goten. I live in Massachusetts and love it. I'm a big fan of all the Boston sports teams. My musical interestes include punk rock and ska. -
I was StumbleUpon-ing and I stumbled upon (hurr) this little game. http://www.inverty.com/albumcovers/albumcovers.html It's called Albums That Don't Exist, and here are the rules: 1 - Go to Wikipedia's random article page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random The first article you get is the name of your band 2 - Go to the Random Quotations page http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Special:Random The last four words of the last quote is the album title 3 - Go to Flickr's Interesting photo page http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/ Third picture, no matter what it is, is your album cover 4 - Put it all together to make your album. Either crop it to CD cover size, or just use the raw image itself... the only rule is you're only allowed to add the album title and artist title. Here's a cd blank to use as a template and my submission

I loved Turok the on N64. I played the hell out of that game. But when I played the 360 demo, I was very disappointed. Instead of typing up a long winded post about why, I'll let this Ctrl-Alt-Del comic do it for me. It really focuses on what I thought was wrong with the game. The Wire is a crime drama which follows the story of a single police unit working in Baltimore, Maryland. The show also follows the stories of the criminals, citizens, and politicians from the city. Beyond this, The Wire tells a compelling and complex story about interlocking relationships and institutions of urban America. Creator David Simon has often described the series as a television novel. Each season can be thought of as a single book, with each episode analogous to individual chapters in that book. New viewers often find the series difficult at first because of the complex story lines which continuously build on events from previous episodes and seasons. However, such a format is perhaps the most rewarding, as the final episodes of a season are quite amazing in their ability to bring a story line to a dramatic and memorable conclusion. I have only seen the first 2 seasons so far (common Netflix send me more) but after talking to people who have seen all the seasons, it only gets better. The characters in this show feel more "real" than any other show I have watched. I've found after a few episodes you start to feel emotionally attached to characters. No other show has done this for me. Sure I've been mad when tv shows have killed off characters (24
Edger was awesome
), but nothing like I've felt for characters in this show. They are so real that you think they could be people you know, and once a show has that, they got you. One of the hardest deaths for me was at the end of season 2 when
The Greek killed Frank Sobotka. Sure Sobotka was a dirty dock worker, stealing crates and selling them to The Greek, but he wasn't in it for personal gain. He used the money he got from the sales to help his union get the political support it needed to dredge a canal. Doing this would mean more ships would come through, and that means for shifts for his men. People were getting 1-2 shifts a week if that as it was, and that is not enough to support a family on. Even though he was one of the "bad guys" in the show, I really felt for him and it really hit me when they pulled his body out of the water with his throat cut.
If you haven't watched this show, do it. Don't stop after one or two episodes though. Watch the entire season 1 (only 13 episodes). I started off only watching the first two, and wasn't too impressed. But I went back after what people said about it, and now this is my favorite show on tv.

Massachusetts clam chowder (chowdah!) is better than anything else in the world, especially when served in a sour dough bread bowl. Also on the topic of California pizza, I had the best pizza I have ever had while living in CA. It was a white sauce (instead of red, it was garlicy), cheese, and grilled chicken pizza at Fatte's Pizza in San Luis Obispo, CA. They have a buy one/get one deal so my roommate and I always got two of them for the low low price of $15. And that's with tip for the delivery man.

I am currently playing too many games to count all on the 360. Rock Band - I can do expert bass, hard guitar, and medium drums for all songs. Vocals can go to hell though. I guess the game doesn't like my melodious voice. A buddy and I are doing the Band World Tour and just got into the Hall of Fame and are currently working toward Endless Setlist. The DLC is what really makes this game awesome though. If you have purchased everything (complete bundle + all DLC songs through current week + OXM), you've spent approximately $271.50 on Rock Band. I bought everything but OXM and regret nothing. Call of Duty 4 - This is hands down the best shooter I have played in a long long time. I beat the single player on Hardened and am currently working on Veteran but I don't think I'll ever do it. Online Hardcore mode (1-3 bullets kill almost always, no hud) is the only mode worth playing in my book. I have put over 48 hours into this game and love it. Devil May Cry 4 - I have not played any of the other DMC games, but loved the demo for this game. I bought it, and fell in love. There is something about clearing an entire room of demons without getting hit while jumping through the air that makes me happy. The Orange Box - This should be called Team Fortress 2 because that's all I play on it. My buddy and I usually end up playing TF2 after we play CoD4 for a bit and get stomped on. We end up doing a heavy/medic team and just rape and pillage everyone. Burnout: Paradise - Never has crashing your car been so much fun. I love the fact that the map only needs to load once, then you can drive anywhere in Paradise City without having to stop to load. Having the 360 camera is great for this game too. When you get taken out online, it takes a picture of you and sends the "mugshot" to the guy who took you down to collect.

1. The first choice I ever made was whether to breathe or not. Turns out I picked the right choice. 2. The best choice I ever made was to check out The Clash. Their music has shaped my life. 3. The worst choice I ever made was to purchase Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill on cassette 4. The hardest choice I ever had to make was deciding to move from California back to Massachusetts.

Now That We've Narrowed Down The Candidates...
Joe Strummer replied to Morpheus's topic in General Discussion
Well, I'm gutted that Mitt Romney pulled out. He was one of the better candidates in this election. I'll now be supporting his rival, John McCain, since Huckabee doesn't stand a chance and his name just reminds me of that stupid romcom flick. I'm predicting a McCain/Clinton race for the white house. A McCain/Obama race is probably the only combination I'd consider crossign the party line for, since Obama is just a really awesome dude. Romney12
I lived in Massachusetts during Romney's reign. And let me tell you he is not the man you want to be president. Not a governor, surely not a president. -
Any guesses about who
Ben's mole is
? I think the obvious guess would be
Michael
, but for some reason I have the nagging feeling it will be more shocking than that.

The mole is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALT! Or Vincent.
Did anyone think that the
new people on the island might be Dharma employee's sent to take the island back from Ben? That would explain why they are after him specifically as he was the one to kill all of them. But wouldn't Dharma know where the island is? They air-dropped supplies to the island before, so that means they should know where it is. Unless they always knew where it was and where just pretending not to know so it would seem like a rescue. This frickin show. :animestun
Now That We've Narrowed Down The Candidates...

Obamarama 08. Now if god forbid Hillary gets the nomination, I'll vote for McCain. Now if Huckabee and Hillary both get nominated, I'll have to start looking into continuing my studies abroad.
