Yeah, I was thinking of doing just a personal post for Blu - a dream or flashback or something maybe. I haven't been posting a lot because I'm still getting use to the style, but I don't want this RP to die either!
lol no, I only gave her the psychometry, outside of that she's nothing special, she couldn't tell if a spirit were even a foot in front of her. That's why she's so chill, she can't tell when bad stuff is gonna go down. I guess it's good to get that out now rather than later when it'll matter more.
I'm totally down with En Jung getting possessed over Blu. Blu is very susceptible because of her talent, but the pendant around her neck gives her a little protection (it's mainly her belief in it that fuels the protection). As far as her senses, she does to better when she's around an object the ghost has used, if it was human, but if it's a demon or something else powerful enough to possess someone, she'll feel the shift of intention in En Jung from, say, what she normally feels to whatever malevolent intention the demon/ghost has. She can't actually see ghosts, nor has she really honed her talent enough to tell what kind of ghost it may be, etc. She's just very naturally gifted.
yeah I was just thinking if it possessed Eun Jung, it could like... spy on the group for a bit, hide out, make it incognito. But either way works, if there's something it has to say. The possession aspect could make a show of power. Idk. Just "thinking out-loud," as it were :3
Blu is also susceptible to possession... She can't see ghosts, but she gets "runoff" of their emotions/intentions, and sometimes will take on traits the ghosts have. We've got lots to work with with most of the group, I think.
so i also wanted to make a second run at the crack... i dont see us fixing it (maybe later) but perhaps see the cause of it this time around? that would be my vote anyway... though i think i will wait for White as well... though if we do too long this could turn out to be another PWNED fiasco... and nobody wants that.
I also agree. I'm up for a little waiting. I would think that White had some ideas upon making the initial scenario, and I'm interested to see what they would be, but we also can't wait forever in limbo.

Blu shivered in the brutal cold. But it wasn't just the weather that made her unable to keep from shaking. "I think that was just a warning. It was making itself known to us." Why did she say that? She didn't want to have scared anyone. And the anomaly did seem to have backed off, for the moment. But... Her hand crept unconsciously around the pendant at her neck, numb gloved fingers closing tightly around it. Why hadn't she just said what she'd felt initially...? Rage... Hate. The creature, whatever manifestation of poltergeist, spirit, or demon it was was certainly angry. But... it was more than just a simple standoff. More than just a show of power, or anger. This thing was hungry. It wanted to hurt Ally. To hurt all of them. Such ferocious, malicious intent... Blu hadn't felt something so strong in a while. It felt... well, evil. She didn't really like to put the labels of "good" or "evil" on any creature, but. But. "Hey, Blu," Ally nudged the girl. "Are you okay?" Blu hadn't moved since En Jung headed off towards the rift, as merrily as one might go to the grocery store. Blu smiled a little, trying to put on a calm face. Calm in the face of danger. Cool mind, level head-- Death... It was more of a touch - a sensation, than a voice. Blue's eyes grew slightly wide at the feeling, cold, tingling fear trickling up her spine. She still didn't have full control over her "powers"... it just came and went. But this feeling... was unmistakable. It shook her to the bone. "Irissa!" Ally tried again, getting in front of the girl and leaning in, almost nose to chilly nose with her. "Earth to Blu!" "What??" Blu shook herself, blinking and taking an unsteady step back from Ally. "I'm fine. I should be asking you that. You're the one who just got taken on the supernatural merry-go-round." Ally made a face at the memory, then shook her head. "Just a bit sea -- er-- roof sick! I'm good as gold!" "Hey," Phil called. "Are we gonna check this thing out, or stand chit chatting all day?" "Oh," Blu looked down, her white booted feet almost invisible against the snowy terrain. If her cheeks weren't frozen, she might have blushed. "Sorry. I'm just... a little out of it. You're right. Standing here all day won't do anyone any good." "Easy now," Cowboy looked back at them, one eye still on the advancing En Jung. "No need to rush in to things. We can't just stand here, but we got to keep our heads on straight." He looked at Blu a moment. "Everyone good?" Blu nodded a little. "Good." she murmured. At least as good as it got. But as they started to trudge after En Jung... she couldn't shake the permeating feeling. They were being watched. And the spectators weren't on their side.
Yeah, I just don't want you to think that's how everyone on OtakuBoards roleplays, because that's not really the case. And I'm not sure if this is what you meant but I didn't even consider the idea of the spirit being someone well-known (Einstein come back in the body of a Kitten? ) so kudos there. Once we've got everything figured out I'll make a small pet sign-up sheet for everyone to fill out that will contain all the vital information we need. Also I just read those last few posts, awesome stuff guys that's exactly the kind of thing I want to see. I got excited just reading it. ^_^
Oooh. I was thinking... sort of along those lines? Like someone from the person's family line, or a mentor - that could easily go for someone they admired (a well-known famous/inspirational figure). Sounds like we've got lots of options to make the most of the animals. And... I'm gonna post tonight. I will! I shall!!
Yeah I know that's not really the norm for roleplaying but it's how my friends and I did it when we were kids and I find it more enjoyable. We're collaboratively writing a story about characters we've created separately as opposed to being limited to your own character and having to write an entire post of your character doing basically nothing. It ends up being a lot of thinking and no action and that bores me. I feel like this way all you guys get as much creative freedom as you need to mold the story with me. Here's what I've got for pets: Inuyasha Fandom (twins) - None (which is totally fine, I'd rather only have a few pets in a big group like this) CaNz (Ally) - Kitten? Lilt (Trin) - Ferret (good choice, so keeeuute ) PseudoWhim (Blu) - Sparrow Hawk Anom-nom (Eun Jung) - A slow loris, lawl So the way I was thinking of doing the whole psychic pet thing was just having one spirit that has split himself into all of our animals, so when the pets are close to each other, they just talk as one person (telepathically of course) and when they are split up they're able to think and behave separately. ...but I'm starting to think that's too confusing. How would you guys feel if we just had separate spirits in the pets so each one IS different? I'll explain it better in the RP (I've got quite the idea set up to introduce them) but let me know what you think. Keep up the great posts and feedback guys!
Thanks for the support, White. ^^ I'll slowly gather up more courage, and I do understand the reasoning behind this style of roleplay, I'm just slowly getting my sea-legs, so to speak. Or... ghost-legs? *cough* As for the psychic pet thing, either way works for me. If it IS an individual spirit per animal, though, I've got an idea for whose spirit may have taken up residence in Blu's animal, to guide and support her....

I'm a little slow to reply on the board as I'm still getting use to the "everyone controls everyone elses' characters"... thing, which isn't how I use to play. But, I'm still here, just... observing a bit so I don't mess things up. ^_^ As for psychic pets... Blu would likely have some type of small bird. A sparrow, perhaps, or, even better... a sparrowhawk, which is a small bird of prey (Also sometimes called a sparrow hawk)! Sparrow Hawk ^ Or maybe a kestrel. Who knows. Blu seems like a bird girl to me.

lol, we'll get it all worked out, I'm sure! EDIT: That works fine for me! ^_^
well... now i have to edit too now don't i? I might as well do the delete+repost thing since i need a new intro to my post...
I'm... really confused, now. I replied to Ally, so if you change that, I'LL have to repost too. You could just... let it be? I dunno.

Posted! Also, please, I'm obviously a bit of a newbie to the boards (I use to play a looong, long time ago, but have since been writing in other areas), and I'm not use to other people controlling my character and me controlling others'. So, if I step over any lines, or if anyone has any tips, pointers, complaints, etc, please feel free to share with me. Thankies!

She knew she should have brought pizza. Not that any of them would probably be eating much in the frigid temperatures. Blu did have a lot on her mind - she always seemed to, even though her life was... fairly simple. Working at the flower and herb greenhouse. Volunteering at church now and again, though she didn't really care much for the services. Normal things for a normal girl.... Right. Normal. She still felt a little out of place with the PIT team, but they were all always so very nice, she knew it was just her. She had smiled a little sheepishly at Ally, but there wasn't really much time for small talk before they were whisked away through the circle. Blu could feel the tingling of things she couldn't see, echoes and almost half seen faces and moments through the veil of their protected spirits' travel. She didn't much like traveling this way. She usually ended up having strange - and unpleasant, dreams after using the circles. It was lessening a little, the more she used them, but she shivered anyway as they all stepped out into their destination, partially from the cold, and partially from the lingering feeling. What would it be like, to get lost in that swirling, half existent state...? There was not much time to wonder on that either, Cowboy taking the lead and the rest of them going to get their gear. A crack in the universe... It was quite a concept. And a rather frightening one at that, when you thought about it. But... there wasn't time for thought. Not too much, at least. She was getting better at the 'less thinking, more doing' part of the job. Sort of. "Five minutes," she repeated to herself after Cowboy came in to inform them of their imminent departure. She looked around, mirroring the others' movements on what gear to take. Heavy jackets, gloves, goggles, thermal packs, and all other manner that screamed, welcome to hostile territory. Stepping closer to Ally, she smiled softly at the other girl. "I suppose this is a bit like an adventure." "Yeah," Phil quipped, "An adventure where were we all could die at any moment." Blu paled a little, hand going absently to the pendant around her neck, but her smile didn't fade. The silver pendant was chilly against her fingers. "Well," she shrugged, outwardly calm as ever, "At least we have penguins."

Hopefully things should be a little clearer now. Looking forward to seeing this start!
Finally done! And again, I apologize about the psycho formatting on my profile. I tried to keep correcting it and it just got more and more crazy, so I just... left it alone. Let me know if I need to do anything. I read this thread AFTER writing her powers. If its too much, I can simplify, to something like just her taking on traits of the descended and her potential for possession. Also... got a little carried away with the first paranormal experience. Heheh... So... um. Yeah. Thanks! Looking forward to getting this ghostly gig going!

Her hair is an average brown, shoulderlength with bangs and her eyes an average blue, gentle and deep. She likes towear whites and creams, and usually is in some kind of feminine outfit, thoughnot frilly or extremely girly. She also always wears a small pendant, made ofsilver. It has a small cross across the top, and opens to show a picture ofherself as a child of around 8 and a boy that resembles her of perhaps age 13. Shelikes kittens and classical music. But she also likes dive bars and tequila. She usually looks a little out of place in a dive, but it doesn't bother her.She is content to make herself and her friends happy, and usually will go togreat lengths to accommodate people. She is of the Catholic faith, technically, but at this point in her life, just considers herself"religious". She rarely attends any kind of church formally, but ownsa small bible passed down from her mother's family, and prays often. She isfond of making others smile, and smiles often herself, but rarely laughs. Thosecloser to her know that she holds a great deal of sadness within her, which sheoften says "isn't her sadness". She sometimes can be what some peoplemight think of as absent-minded, but is more of a day dreamer. One can oftenfind her standing at the edge of a group, but not outside it. She doesn't tryto be the life of the party, nor isolate herself. She simply... is there, whichseems to be more than enough for her. PIT History: She is relatively new to PIT, only having been with them fora few months or so, and really only an Elite because of her easy personality. She takes orders and doesn't argue. And is very good at talking to thefrightened or unbelieving people the PIT team is either trying to help, or justkeep out of supernatural harm's way. PIT first encountered her when they wereon a mission. The spirit actually came to hide in her apartment, and might havepossessed her had PIT not gotten involved. Her gentle nature probably appealedto Zach's compassion. That... and her abilities do come in handy... Powers/Talents: Irissa is highly spiritually impressionable. Shedoesn't really like to call it "pre-cognition", but she can often geta psychic impression from an object or sometimes a specific area. It usuallycomes in the form of what feels like "intention". It is usually theintent of the deceased towards other people, or a kind of desire the deceasedhas yet to accomplish. There is some emotional connection, but it is more of anactual intention of action rather than an empathetic relation. For example, ifa woman was killed in a violent crime by her husband who was never caught,Irissa, upon touching one of the unrested spirit's possessions or (if the ghostis very strong) entering its place of spiritual habitation, she would sense thedead woman's intent, which may be in the form of a strong sorrow andlamentation, the intention or desire to reconnect with those she was unable toconnect to (in those cases, Irissa may be able to catch glimpses or impressionof the woman's life, or those people she left behind), or, if it has become apoltergeist, Irissa may feel the intense desire for revenge, sorrow, and angerthe spirit contains. She can, on occasion, actually determine the spiritsnext move, like in the example of the woman, she may feel that a ceiling willgive way by the spirit's doing, or get a small flicker, detail or sensation ofthe man the spirit wishes revenge upon. Sometimes the vision or feeling willcome upon immediate contact with the item or place, and sometimes it will cometo her in the form of a precognitive-like dream, hours, days, or in some casesa month later - sometimes too late. Irissa's ability is a bit unpredictable, andalso depends much upon the strength of the spirit's intent as Irissa's abilityisn't something she's honed or trained. Because it is her natural talent, sheis also highly susceptible to possession. Rarely, she willtemporarily adopt mannerisms or abilities the person had in life withoutrealizing it. She says the pendant around her neck helps to protect her, throughits ties with God, and also to her family - specifically her deceased brother,Christian. First Paranormal Experience: It was around Irissa's ninth birthday whenthe event that would change the course of her life forever, happened. Herheritage was an interesting mix of Southern Italian from her mother's side andFrench on her father's side. Her mother's family was highlyreligious, but her mother held the faith loosely, and her father prayed to noone, his parents both having passed away earlier in his life. They lived inEurope for a number of years after they were married and had their first child.Upon Irissa's conception, though, they had just moved to America, outside ofBoston. Her mother loved flowers, and painted. Her father was a shrewdbusinessman, starting a company that kept him traveling often. Two completelydifferent worlds, that came together to make a very happy, simple home, withtwo children, Irissa and her brother, Christian, who loved to play the piano. The beginning of her life was bliss, with her brother and her parents. Herfather, though not at home a lot, would make time to spend with his childrenand wife whenever possible, and often had them fly out to his current businessplace. They took vacations to the beach, in America and in Europe. Irissa andher brother were inseparable friends. They refused to sleep in different roomseven up until Irissa was around eight, and her brother the age of thirteen. Some people may have thought it odd, but her parents knew how strong theirconnection was. The family was traveling to Southern France for her ninthbirthday. Her father's company hadn't been doing well, the financial situationof the family putting added pressure on him, and her mother, who was thinkingabout getting a second job. Her paintings were selling, but... not fast enough.Still, they took their vacation, and smiled for their children, even thoughIrissa and Christian could often hear their father whispering harshly into hisphone at late hours of the night in French. A few days before her birthday, hehad to unexpectedly travel to Paris, on business. She remembers crying andtelling him that she wanted him there on her birthday. She remembered hermother smiling to her, but giving her father a harder look. She doesn'tremember the car ride that she, her mother, and her brother took to meet theirfather in Paris, on the eve of her ninth birthday. He said he was going to giveher a surprise. She never found out what it would be. She woke up in the hospital, feeling...somehow emptier inside. Hermother was in critical condition, in a medically induced coma, and in need of aheart transplant from a crushed, irreparable valve. Her brother had been killedinstantly in the crash. Her father was frantic and became extremely depressed. He drained his company's money within months, trying to find ways to help hermother, who woke up for a few short days before passing away. Her father wasinconsolable. Irissa tried, as best she could, to take care of him, as he wouldwake up later and later every day, forget to take out the trash, forget to makemeals. He would look at her strangely, from time to time, when she would go tothe piano and play. She didn't know how, but she would find that her fingersknew where to go. All the songs her brother loved. She would come in, a girl ofnine, smudged with dirt from her mother's garden, holding a few flowers to putin a vase and a feeling would come over her as her father looked at her as ifseeing a ghost. She would gently place the flowers in a vase, and go to hughim. He would whisper to her, quietly, "Je suis désolé... Monamour..." They moved to Italy, to a small house in Tuscany, furnished byher mother's family. Her father's looks became more and more distant. She was almost ten when she woke up one breezy spring night, whatwould have been her brother's birthday and crept into her father's room. He wasalready awake, holding a pendant in his hand with a picture of her and herbrother inside of it. Beside him on his bed was a small gun. He saw her, eyeshaunted and far away, and beckoned her closer. She went to sit beside him andhe gently put the pendant around her neck. He said her brother had asked him tohave it made. She was suppose to have received it on her ninth birthday. Hepicked up the gun, and hugged her. She doesn't quite remember what happenednext, but she would have dreams for years after about her father crying, holding her brother instead of her, gun shaking in his hand."It's not yourfault." her brother would always say. "We forgive you."Sometimes she would see her father pointing the gun at her. Sometimes athimself. But there was always a strange, sad sense of relief. She was neverfrightened of the gun. Her brother was there. He always smiled gently at her.Her father smiled too. They deemed her father's death a suicide. The officialreport detailed two shots having been fired from the gun, but there was only onebullet hole in her father's head, not marring the peaceful expression she wouldnever remember actually seeing, even after waking up the next morning to makethem breakfast, and finding the kitchen full of police. They never found thesecond bullet, or even a mark on the walls of ceiling from where it must have gone. Picture of Irissa, at her current age, and her brother, Christian, at the age he was(14ish) just before his death. Picture for reference only. Name: Mari Tsugimou (the name "Mari" in Japanese can mean "their rebellion") Age: 25 (I would prefer to actually make her 18, but if 25 is the minimum, that will do.) Gender: Female Appearance: See picture for reference. Her mother was Japanese and her father Chinese. She has very few memories of either of them. Her hair is a little longer than shoulder length, though she keeps her bangs a little bit shorter. She usually wears dark simple clothing - not that she has a huge wardrobe to choose from. She is quiet and withdrawn, and her clothing usually reflects that. She is also fond of scarves. However, the additions or changes to her clothing, and/or colors of her scarves, reveal what... erm... mood she's in. Weapon: She always carries around a spool of floss, sometimes more than one, tucked into some pocket or another. She is also fond of knitting, and often keeps the plastic or wooden, blunted (they won't give her anything too sharp or strong) knitting needles in her hair. Classification: Brain Disorder: All that information. All that stored knowledge and whirling, thinking, non-stop psychological activity... it's just too much for one person. Thus, Mari has become more than just... one person. She is schizophrenic and has multiple personalities in conjunction with whatever delusions her mind makes her see from time to time. The specialists have identified at least three separate personalities that manifest within the girl. One called Mai, who is rather quick tempered, and rarely in a good mood. Masculine in nature no loyalties can be kept with her. The shy, easily swayed Ari, an almost childlike persona of Mari's, even younger than the woman herself seems to act normally. And Ai, who is, in comparison to Mai, Ari, or Mari, a loving sort, easy going and understanding; the last one to start a fight. Another personality may have been starting to peek out, every now and then... but it hasn't really named itself, of yet. Each of the personalities seems to be stronger in one mental faculty over the others, though they are all exceptionally bright. Mari has insanely quick deductive skills in logical problem solving and retains information with inhuman accuracy. Mai has a photographic memory, in perfect detail, instantly recallable. Ari has perfect audio recall. If she hears a song, a specific sound, or a person's voice, she can instantly recall what or who that sound belongs to. Ai sees and deciphers patterns of almost any size or complexity. The last personality (if it is truly the last) seems to have a much more subtle ability, not yet completely explainable, though when in this personality, however brief, Mari (or whatever the personality's name may be) has the uncanny ability to "read" people (ie Think of the show "Lie to Me" which deals with micro expressions, facial, body, voice indicators, etc). Journal: Day 3,742. I have finished my latest knitting. There were only two errors in the stitching this time, a manufacturer's error in the yarn. A shame. I will have to request more high quality goods. I have little doubt that they will attempt to fulfill my request, but that certainly also is in effect in the probability of their failure. Fucking assholes.... I do hope, though, that I'll be able to get some spring and summer colors. Even in the artificial lighting of the halls, one may appreciate the vibrancy in the dyes used to color the yarn. Perhaps some intriguing fabrics would be enjoyable as well. Oooh, yes! Then I could give them as gifts, when next I get to see some of the others. Perhaps I will s[s]ee if[/s] They promised I would be able to play with the synthesizer again if I was a good girl. I want to be a good girl. I really, really do. I am I good girl. It's just [s]sometimes, I[/s] I am so tired. I wonder if the others will come to play soon. I do so easily grow tired of these mindless games they have me play. At times, they are infinitesimally pleasurable, but their trifles do not have the depth and adaptability desired to present a challenge for any length of time. I ho[s]pe that[/s] If this inane behavior does not cease, [s]I swear, I'll[/s] Sometimes it gets so dreadfully quiet... and yet, the noise just won't stop. If I [s]could just[/s] [s]If only I[/s] I must get out. Picture for reference only.
