So I'm noticing some people own (or know) corgis. I find corgis are adorable and I would love to get one someday. I have a question though for those who've had one before: do they make good pets? Or, is there anything I should know about 'em beforehand? Just curious if there's any advice you could give me.
Corgis are the smallest dog accepted in the 'guard dog' category by the AKC (American Kennel Club). Now, to really understand this, we need to look at two things. Watch dogs and guard dogs. Watch dogs are dogs that will alert you to an intruder or another danger via barking and whatnot, but will not actually do much to get rid of the threat. That is the category most small dogs are put in. Guard dogs, on the other hand, will actually DO something about the threat as well as alert you. That means that if a robber breaks into your house, the corgi will bite the hell out of him. And don't let their small size fool you, corgis WILL GET AIRBORN. They will JUMP in order to better harm their foes and protect their home and loved ones. I recommend corgis fully and completely!

Okay, Saturday is Independence Day for those of us IN AMERICA (LK reference ftw), so what are you doing for that day? Fireworks? BBQ? SPARKLERS?! The answer for me: None of the above. I'll probably just stay home and watch Star Wars on TV... But how's about you guys? EDIT: I was too lazy to create another thread for Canada Day, so go ahead and post about that here too! :)
So I gave the game over to her earlier tonight and said I'd like to see you do a better job... So she loaded it up and caught it first try with no fuss. =_= So unfair.
My sister does that all the time... She's much better than me at video games and she relishes every moment that she gets to rub that fact in my face...:animeangr
Ain't martial arts a hoot? :animesmil
Damn straight!:catgirl: I'm sort of proud of myself, actually. Right after getting my head bounced of the ground, I performed Wansu kata about three times even though I couldn't see straight.:animestun
-
I hit the back of my head on the floor during karate when I was doing ground self-defense. So now I'm looking up brain diagrams to see what could be damaged and bleeding, you know, just in case. So far I have the occipital lobe as a suspect. Only I can see just fine, so I'm not sure...
Well, we're up to four in less than a week. This is, of course, only counting celebrities.
So two more celebrity deaths are going to occur?:animedepr -

Remember the old wivestale: Death happens in threes... And old wivestales like that don't get to be old because they're not often right. -
Name: Ulf Gustaf Age: 23 Personality: Seemingly easygoing, Ulf is often underestimated as a goofy fool. But when he is presented with a challenging fight, Ulf can be suprisingly sinister and frighteningly heartless. Appearance: Ulf is about 6 feet tall and extremely pale. He has straight silvery gray hair that goes just past his shoulders. He has a black leather patch over his left eye and his right eye is a shiny gold color. Weapon: Ulf is never seen without his large staff made of Tungsten. I'll give the reason later...
Oh, you'll get yours someday. Mark my words. Growing up's a *****.
Hey! No one's allowed to take a crap on my happiness except for Mr. Maul!:p
-
I started making jokes the minute I found out, because to me, nothing is taboo.
Are you paid for that, too?:p
I think what Lunox meant was that it's a bit early for jokes that relate to his death Chibi.
That's understandable.
-
Ugh, seriously? Get some class.
What's your problem? Personally, I think this thread could use some humor, what with the "OMG, he's dead!" feel to it...

There's nothing like being 14 during summer! I can eat whatever I want and not gain a thing, I can stay up until dawn and sleep until dinner, and all I need to do is clean up a little around the house! Yes, it sure feels great to be a teenager on summer break...:catgirl:
This. I grew up listening to his music and watching his videos. Mimicking the dance steps to Thriller and Beat it. (It's easy :)) Even though he had some problems, I still listen to his music till this very day. RIP Mike :(
And I had to do the moon walk thingy majig for the project I mentioned earlier...that made his death in a way personal, stupid as it sounds...:animeswea
Nope. it's pretty much been confirmed now that he's died.
That's what I just saw on the news... Wow... You know, I can't really imagine that he's dead... It just seems unnatural for Michael Jackson to be gone...
-
I heard that he's still alive, though just barely, but the news anchors keep speaking about him in the past tense, so who knows...:animedepr I dunno, after learning so much about him in my 80's power point presentation, I feel kind of attached. It's sort of like an old friend might be dead...

Okay, I have a delightful Pembroke Welsh Corgi! He's about 1.5 years old and his name is Tucker! He has the coloring of a Cardigan Corgi and I think he may have some mixed in him because his enormous ears have yet to come up, but I don't care anymore! Besides, I think he has more character with button ears!:catgirl: All of my pictures of him are taken on my digital camera and apparently exceed OB's attachment sizes... That is why I have hauled my laptop downstairs in order to take pictures of him with my webcam! Oh, and my sister has a snooty little kitty named Maggie. She's down there too...

Hey! My best friend can't go to the party either, so yay for me! The conversation over the phone went like this: Her: Hey, I have bad news... Me: You have a bad nose? H: No, NEWS. I have bad news and a good newt! M: I see! So what's the bad news? H: I can't go to so-and-so's graduation party. M: I have the SAME bad news! H: COOL! Aren't we great?:animesmil
Actually, the first three become available after you beat the Cianwood Gym.
I wondered why I was able to get to only those easily. Hey, you know what I hate about myself? I always procrastinate with just about everything and for this reason I have missed yet another R.S.V.P. deadline to a graduation party I wanted to go to. Oh well.:animesigh
-
Are you by chance referring to the Sevii Islands? 'cause you can't get to those until after you beat the game. :p
GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!:flaming: *bangs head against wall multiple times*

I bought the cheat book for Fire Red/Leaf Green (I have both) a couple days ago because I was tired of looking for some d*** islands that apparently don't exist, despite what my map tells me...:animeangr Also, I re-started my Fire Red game because I wasn't NEARLY as far into that as the Leaf Green one. Now I'm leveling up in preparation for my stupid opponent. But I'm stuck. In Cerulean. With only a tiny grassy area on that one route to level up in...
My siblings and I had to do the same thing. :/ Luckily the 3D specs were large enough to fit over our glasses, but still... yeah, I would've rather just gone and seen the non-3D version.
Agreed! Oh, so very agreed!
-
They double the picture up and make it so part has a slight bluish tint and part is slightly red. The glasses force your eyes to focus on both at the same time, and that causes the 3-D effect. So if you take off the glasses, the image tends to look blurry. That being said, the glasses they gave me at the theater were pretty fantastic compared to the old cardboard ones. These things murdered your eyes like nobody's business. You can barely tell that the lenses are tinted now.
I tried to watch at least a BIT of the movie like that... Though, that meant that through the entire movie I was pulling the 3D glasses down over my eyes and then shoving them back up on top of my head, back and forth, back and forth.
-
And no, I saw it in 2-D. My boyfriend and I both get disoriented with 3-D.
I didn't know there was a choice... I had to watch it in 3D... Do you know how lame I feel when I have to put on those stupid 3D glasses over my regular ones?!
