Alright! Entry posting is now officially closed. Which means that since Ben did not get theirs in before the deadline, Treble wins this round by default, however... and this is completely up to you Treble... if you wish to contact 8bit and see if they would be interested in putting up an entry in the next day or two, then you are welcome to take that route. Just let me know what you'd like to do. ^_~ Anyway, all I ask of the voting is that when making a choice you do more than simply list the name. Judging poetry is pretty subjective and even more so since other than the rhyming and keeping to three sections with four lines each, there are no rules to keep in mind for your choice. It's really based on which poem you think fits the given topic the best. So it would be nice to simply explain a little as to why you liked the poem in question. I think asking for a couple of sentences is fair, and definitely let the each contestant know what you liked about their poem.. :catgirl: So... time to vote!

Hmmm... being one of those members that joined after the change, I can't really say much about the other since I was never a part of it. I can say how much I really like the current system. I've had nothing but fun and met a lot of really great people since I joined. :catgirl: I'm not really all that familiar with how websites or blogging services work, but if all of the submissions were imported to the new system, is it possible to simply import the blogs from the old one over too? I say this since the biggest complaint I see is that the older system isn't getting the updates or improvements anymore. I mean if the other one really has become more difficult and obsolete or rather out of date, making it difficult to implement changes. Then it makes no sense to divide your resources, maintaining something that isn't going to be updated like the newer one is. Though my understanding of that kind of thing is limited, so for all I know, doing that isn't possible either. Or practical. I'm just thinking of my business and marketing classes I've taken and how decisions to retire older models, regardless of the medium, are often based on a necessity. That splitting one's time, money and focus is counter productive. It sounds cold and cruel, but if you don't compete, you fold. Members may bring in activity, but that doesn't pay the bill. Anyway... about the claims older members are anti-social and mean... Based on some of the ugly fighting I've seen going on, something that as an adult I find a bit surprising to see, (though I probably shouldn't). But to see someone who is 25+ taking offense with younger teens, who though perhaps not as clear in their words, are merely stating what they think. Now that is not very mature in my opinion. It wouldn't matter what was said. I would not take my personal life or frustrations out on a total stranger, especially when said stranger is someone a lot younger than me. So I have to agree with the earlier statement about some of the older members being mean to those who like the new system, I've seen it. >_< I'm just glad there are a lot of others out there who are nothing like that. Plus I know better than to think a few represent the community as a whole.

Caramelldansen Speedycake Remix
It's almost scary how many times I've heard a version of that song since I first heard it back on the 19th of last month... that song... Seriously, has changed things in a huge way for me. XD Anyway... I'm still checking out Kamelot's music and right now I'm on this song here: Kamelot - The Haunting I really enjoy what I've been hearing. I like the heavier sound to the groups songs. I also like how the group has a much cleaner sound to their style of singing than what I'm use to hearing from metal groups. It reminds me of Nightwish actually. Good stuff. :catgirl:

I've been watching this show and really enjoying it. ^_^ I'm only to about the fourth disk I think. So far I get the biggest kick out of Vash. XD Him and his silly love and peace statement, along with how utterly goofy he is at times. It just makes me laugh. That and how almost every place he goes ends with him being
chased and shot at. Just as every town seems to end up destroyed and yet no one gets hurt.
I think what cracks me up the most is how that
black cat seems to be in every single episode so far.
Hehe. ^_^ Meryl and Milly the two insurance agents that have been sent to find Vash make me laugh too. Especially Meryl and her refusing to believe that
Vash really is the one they are looking for.
But I suppose that goofy personality of his and how he snarfs down donuts would confuse anyone. Anyway, it's a great show. :catgirl:

I like how the personalities of the characters are starting to slowly come out. Like Lexi, even if she's not joining them now, it makes me curious to find out more about her. I imagine she has a very interesting tale to be told. Anyway, I look forward to more. ^_^

I've been checking out more of Kamelot ever since I heard the song Ghost Opera... So right now I'm listening to this by them: KAMELOT - March Of Mephisto I don't like it as much as I do Ghost Opera, but it's still a good song.

Alright, that's it. I'm joining the fanclub. He's just too much win to handle.
I agree. Especially with the new skin, it's just fantastic. :catgirl: As for the Love Shack... >_> I have some ideas that have come to mind for something like that... But I'd probably get bonked if I posted them here. Pity I have no idea how to do graphics, since what I'm thinking would be utterly hilarious. Though Beth and Darren would probably murder me for it. XP

And yes, that terrified the hell out of me because just like the reporter says in the clip, when you're too close, you really can't breathe, it feels like you're being suffocated or something. We've had other bad storms, but that one was the worst.
I was going to mention that storm we had back in August of 2006 that clobbered the area, tearing down power lines and creating havoc with all the high winds... If I remember correctly though, that hit Beth's area harder. Anyway, now I'm going to have to go with the tornado instead. Because as bad as the storm was in 2006, that was a whole lot worse.

Also: I split this off into a new thread to keep it from taking over the April Fools one.
I was wondering about, how a thread that I know I didn't create suddenly appeared. Hehe. :catgirl: It's too bad I know next to nothing about graphics, because if I did, I know I'd enjoy making graphics for theme. But in all honesty, I only just figured out how to make simple e-cards. XP
Considering how all this came about, I think it's only fair we get a Love Shack Skin. Maybe a Rick Roll one, too.:p
I can only imagine a Love Shack Skin. XD That would be too funny!

Aww, I suppose it's too late to join? I don't visit Anthology much so I didn't actually see this thread untill now. :( I'll have to jump in next time I guess. D:
Not at all! The only thing you would need is someone to compete against. ^_^ If you know someone else who is interested, the timing would be slightly different than the others, but you could still join the fun since I could add another thread to the challenges. So, anyone interested in taking on 8bit? :catgirl: The more the merrier!

Despite my initial discomfort with the idea of having to rhyme lines when my best line ever in high school was "Oh to go back to the way things have been, you were my dancing queen..."
If it helps, the next round will not include rhyming. For those who make it past the first round that is.
Quick query, so I know how long I have. Is the deadline at the beginning or the end of the 11th?
Good question! The entire day. I will not be closing it until the following morning which will be the 12th. I'll post to that effect since I'll probably do so when I get up on Saturday. So if you post Saturday at 3am... it will count so long as I haven't posted closing the round yet.
Hmmm, okay, just one question: Is this elimination? If so, single, double???
Elimination, single. Unless people want it to be double. In which case we can work something out.

ZOMG! We have a Caramelldansen style! Squee! *sets it to default* Oh my hell. XD It's so freakin' cool! I love it. With all the pink and the fun aqua-green color. Plus the edit, reply and new thread buttons are utterly awesome! And the dancing duo along with the music? Haha! I'm assuming Des made it but seriously! Sweet! :catgirl:

Though I wouldn't mind hearing the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in the new center. I understand they have a 7,667-pipe and 130-rank pipe organ. I'd love to hear that in person.
The original Tabernacle on Temple Square has a better organ. At least I understand that's the case since it was rebuilt. I can't tell the difference, but I understand it's impressive to hear live. :catgirl: And since I was visiting your update over at theOtaku... I'm now listening to this song by The Timelords/The KLF: Doctorin' The Tardis. What a weird and wacky song! Especially with the Dalek voices and their insane Exterminate spiel! XD

What a not delightful place to live. XP And I love the title for this chapter for some reason. Because you just know things aren't going to go smoothly. Anyway, as before, I'll be waiting for the next chapter from you. :catgirl:

I know your example rhymed in the challenge thread, and several quatrain's I've read have rhymed, but you aren't requiring that so long as it's simply in four lines of verse per stanza. You're not asking strictly for them to ALL rhyme... Are you?
The idea is that at least one line has to rhyme with another one in each section. So out of four lines, the endings of two have to rhyme, for a total of six lines throughout the poem. The two lines that rhyme in one section do not have to rhyme with the next section unless you want to do that. Also, if you wish for all of them to rhyme throughout the entire poem that's fine too. Sorry if I was not clear on that.

Tis simple Sir Allamorph... Yes or no? :catgirl:
Well if I didn't want to sign up I don't think I would've posted at all. Silly.
Oh I don't know about that. It being silly and all, since I don't know you well enough to know if your comment was more than what it seemed to be, which at the time looked like a suggestion and nothing more. I thank you for clearing that up for me though. EDIT: Alright! As you can see the threads are up for the challenges for round one! ^_^ Your respective threads for who you are faced up against can be found here: Aaryanna_Mom vs. Darren Aaryanna vs. Aberinkula Allamorph vs. Gavin Raiha vs. Rachmaninoff Treble vs. 8bit indifference vs. SunfallE Any and all questions are to be directed here. Poetry Contest - Round One
100
indifference vs. SunfallE Topic: Seasons
100
Triple Quatrain Poetry For this round you are challenged to write a triple Quatrain poem. Now a basic Quatrain is a poem that has four lines and also has a specific rhyming scheme. So for a triple Quatrain, you will be writing twelve lines in groups of four, based on the topic that you have been given. For example: Topic: The Fall I love the mountains in the fall, as the leaves begin to turn. Like decorations for the ball, it makes my heart just yearn. Fall colors seem to transcend with yellow, orange, and browns. It'll soon cover all the towns with a warm and hearty blend. The cool crisp autumn air there's nothing that can compare. To this color filled wonder land what could ever be this grand. As you can see in each section the ending lines rhyme with one of the others. And just like the poem, they do not have to be in a specific order. So long as they rhyme, it works. In theory, for this contest, the ending of each line could rhyme with every single one. Each contestant has till Friday the 11th to get their poems in. At which time the voting will begin, sooner if both members submit their poems before the deadline. Now all members are welcome to vote include those involved. If it is the thread you are in though, only comments and critiquing is allowed since obviously you can?t vote for yourself. But definitely take the time to vote on the other entries! Now if there are any questions, be sure to direct them to this thread here: Poetry Contest And now lets have some fun!

I haven't really had much in the way of nicknames at all. Only two that I can think of right now. The first being Ditzy since my friends in highschool were kind of making fun of how I'm just about always in a good mood. ^_^ The other, was Sassy. Not sure on that one since the guy who gave me the nickname, never explained it. XP Oh I suppose Rina counts since my Mom was always abbreviating my name and calling me that instead of Sabrina. :catgirl:

Well technically for me it's Sunday so I'm listening to this kind of stuff right now. I almost always do when Sunday comes around: Mormon Tabernacle Choir - Hallelujah Chorus I enjoy choir music and it's a nice break from all the louder stuff I listen to during the week. :catgirl:

I'm currently watching Trigun. ^_^ Which so far is wonderfully funny. I just love how wacky Vash is. Now for reading, since I've watched Pretear, I'm now reading the manga, which is fun because of the differences between it and the anime. It's fun how even some of the character designs are slightly different too.
