I'm talking about the one who really thinks he can get the girl to like him enough to have a deep relationship. Those guys who think they can 'cure' them of their lesbianism are painful to watch. Not the one who hasn't figured it out. lol
Ah gotcha. I was thinking of the guys who think they've got a chance of getting in on a threesome. I've actually never come across a guy who wanted a deep relationship with a lesbian, any talk of cure is usually followed by a brag that it is their immense sexual prowess which will be the cause of said curing. High school is so much fun, I'd forgotten entirely.

On a whim of nostalgia brought on by the Gamecube thread, I just bought the Legend of Zelda Collectors Edition of eBay, so I'll be back playing Ocarina of Time before too long. I have to say though Des, even if it impresses you for being a dungeon built on outside the box thinking, the Water Temple is still a pain compared to the other ones. And quit with the plugs you shameless dog, I feel rusty enough already. :p I'm actually really looking forward to playing Majoras Mask as I was too cheap to buy the expansion needed to play it when it was first released.
I've just don't get it when a guy tries to get a lesbian interested in him. It's like an oxymoron in action and painful to watch.
You've got to be kidding Rach, you and I both know it has to be one of the funniest things you see in life, especially if the poor dope doesn't even realise the girl's a lesbian.
I can't really speak for other guys I guess, but I know that I am one of those who sees lesbians and imagines they will have sex with me. In my imagination, though, I am also a girl and a lesbian, so it's perfectly reasonable. That's just me, though... >_> yall can continue with your serious discussion now...
DB, you are officially one of the weirdest people I have ever known. God knows you bring a good dose of humour to OtakuBoards.
You mean you only just now realized this? :p [I kid]
Well I suspected you just couldn't resist my devilish Irish charm. :p
Besides, in case you forgot, I did say I like OOT better. I was simply pointing out that people bash TWW and yet fail to realize what a great game it is. I've beaten it three times since I got that much fun out of playing it. And in a while I'm sure I'll beat it a forth time. Since I like the option to replay with certain features available that weren't the first time around. Like
having all those conversations in the ancient language actually make sense. That was a fun little bit to add in my opinion

Heh, I never bashed TWW, I merely agree with Alex. And on your spoiler point,
It was cool reading it all in plain English the second time around, though I'd rather have kept the green tunic as well.

And yes I definitely recommend both games since as you put it, it's a double helping of LOZ goodness. In fact I need to actually finish the Master Quest since I got stuck and never went back to playing it.
I keep meaning to get the Collector's Edition so I can play OOT again, but for some reason I keep forgetting. Might buy a Wii after all then.

Funny, I didn't use a banner with this avatar because I couldn't crop the image to fit in the 500x100 banner frame, maybe I'll give it another go now. Either way thumbs up to James and Des for their good work.
It was deliberate actually, both of us tried to make clues where at least some of them weren't totally obvious. And since people seem to miss it, it's not just about keywords but also about what method one uses to search. I would imagine that most people just use keywords to search and yet there are many other ways to sort information here at OB. So some of those clues have nothing to do with the actual thread but rather how one would find that thread. ;)
Well I admit I usually just threw what seemed the most important word into the seach engine and checked to see if there was an image hyperlink in the first line of the thread. I'll have to try and think outside the box from now on as I did come second or third in the Scavenger Hunt.
Only if you're blind. :p Even though I like OOT better than TWW... Tww in it's own way, especially with the more cartoonish graphics, it's quite epic. The graphics were engaging, all the funny expressions were fantastic, the quests to not only find the maps for the tri-force as well as the other aspects of the game, was a lot of fun. Toss in good music and fun new characters and it was more than worthy to be a part of the Zelda series. That and I loved all the fun new equipment you got to play with. So regardless of what anyone says, if you do get a gamecube, Tww is definitely one of the games you'll want to get.
Do you just post to disagree with me Crystia ? I'd have thought a mod would have better things to do. :p I'm just kidding. Seriously though I agree with everything you'd said about The Wind Waker, it was an utterly awesome game, but if we're to look past graphics at pure gameplay, because, to quote Kill Bill's Bill, I am all about the old school, then Ocarina of Time is the superior game. That said, people should just buy both and get a double helping to LoZ goodness.
Cool, so how would we arrange the event? If we do a 4v4 (us vs other players), we should be known as 'The Light Crusaders'. ;) The reason I ask is because I'm a Brit, so I'm not sure if time differences could be a hindrance. By the by, are the Imperial Guard a fun race to use? I imagine they die alot. How do they tie into the Space Marines in the campaign if they're seperate?
We use a WOW Ventrilo server, so unfortunately the only names we'd use would be among ourselves. Be awesome though to play against some live opponents. As for the time difference, well only Joe/silpheed is operating outside of GMT, so we normally play in the evening when everyone is online. I really would recommend downloading Hamachi and Ventrilo as they makes the games much smoother and more fun, and if you're up for a challenge, the Lights of the Warp mod ups the combat ante to an unreal degree. Also, as I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, myself, Bill and Joe all operate off fully patched versions of the games, Dawn of War 1.51 and Dark Crusade 1.21, though Joe doesn't have DC yet.
I instead constantly hit on and threaten to rape my guy friends. It leads to some increadibly awquard conversations, but it's okay, because most of us know each other are straight. To people who see us acting that way though, it's O_o
There's a guy in my high school DB, and for a second I thought you might have been him. He does exactly the same stuff, only he takes it one step further and wrestles with the other guys in our group which ends up looking really, really gay. So oddly, I actually know what you're talking about.

This is definitely going to sound lame, but my favourite addition with the new vB update is that thread pages whether accessed from the forum or within the thread itself now use the same hyperlink address instead of two separate ones. Really handy for browsing long RPGs like Maverick Hunters. Oh, and Quick Edit, that function is a God send. *Gives big thumbs up*
why do guys like to see two chicks making out (and no one cares about it)
Speaking as a guy, I think it's the fact that there is something about the male brain which does not comprehend that lesbians are not interested in men, and that somehow those two chicks would be interested in having a male presence.

Writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Gavin replied to Lady Asphyxia's topic in Creative Works

And as Shin said...when Mrs. Weasley went nuts at Lestrange...that was incredibly cool, haha. The Death Eaters were just lucky Mrs Weasley didn't lose her temper earlier in the series, just look at how often she went mental at Ron and the Twins.

Edit: I wonder if the ending of the Harry Potter series will inspire any RPGs...
Shy/Josh reckons we're looking at a four day window since yesterday evening. Yep, our online games are certainly a lot of fun, be even better if Bill would be a Space Marine chapter like the rest of us, lousy Chaos pawn. :p Seriously though, I only really got back into the game last week and I've had a huge amount of fun with these two, and it'd be great if we would get more people involved.

I've had my share of bad days, some worse than others same as everyone else. The one that stands out most wasn't such a bad day in and of itself, but lead to a pretty ****** period in my life. To keep a long story short, it was November about four years ago and I was in playing football in high school P.E. and took a shot to the head from close range, it trapped my spinal cord between two vertebrae which lead to migraines that eventually caused me to leave school. Four years later and I've finally gotten over what happened. My great-grandmother dying was a fairly bad day too, same goes for her son whom I was particularly close to as we were very alike. Man this thread is good for bringing up bad memories...

Let's talk about drug addiction(very serious discussion)
Gavin replied to FLCLrules's topic in General Discussion
I agree with everyone who's said drug addiction isn't something that can be generalised as being "for losers", or anything else as blasé and ignorant as that. If we're talking about hard addiction, then it's a horrible thing to have happen to anyone, as Juu has already outlined in her own post, it can completely destroy lives, so it's not something that can be just dismissed off-handedly. There's an unbelievable ignorance around addiction and it's effects on people, it's not surprising really, as Crystia said parents and schools portray it as being evil without offering any real education. In the end I think you need to know someone with an addiction to really see how it affects people. -
Note: For a little more background on what?s happened, check out my last post in the Terrorist thread as it fits with what?s happened here. ?-- Terror -- Error! Terror -- Error!? Sanguinius sighed and removed the uppermost portion of Gadget?s skull, exposing a thrumming cybernetic brain beneath. He paused for a moment to watch the electronic display, it was very impressive and had an almost magical appearance to it. Even now this kind of AI was revolutionary, but he couldn?t even imagine what kind of genius it would take to have created something like this in the first place. ?-- Terror -- Error! Terror -- Error!? He?d considered gagging the robot, just to prevent it from repeating the same phrase over and over, but Sanguinius couldn?t help but feel there was something pertinent to the mad droid?s speech. El Kabong obviously knew a lot more about the tech than he did, but he knew enough to be able to check out the structural features of the android, as well as some of it?s more basic algorithms. He removed a wireless jack from a nearby desk and inserted it into Gadget?s auxiliary in port. The agent assumed it was used to input or extract information from the OtakuBot when necessary. Information began to show up onto the screen nearly immediately, and to Sanguinius immense gratitude the automaton agent fell silent, it?s eyes closing to give the appearance of REM sleep. He turned to examine the data flooding across the monitor in front of him. Most of it was just rudimentary commands for basic actions and interactions, but he could see the overriding signal had entered nearly every facet of Gadget?s programming. It was worrying, what had happened to their artificial agent was similar to the mental conditioning of a biological agent. Shutting him down would probably be the best thing to do, at least until they could remove the signal. Moving on to the next monitor Sanguinius began to examine Gadget?s physical structure. A green light pulsed over the android bringing up data on it?s schematics, everything looked eerily human, synthetic bones, muscles, blood. If not for it?s problem, Sanguinius would have doubtless continued to believe Gadget was a normal human same as everyone else. He lifted a cup of coffee to his lips as the scan continued. Everything seemed perfectly normal... until the image of it?s heart loaded up, the shock of which caused Sanguinius to drop the cup from his hands. Against the background sound of splintering clay Sanguinius saw what he instantly recognised to be a tiny fission bomb, like the ones the terrorists had used in their briefcase bombs... ?Oh my God, I?ve got to warn...? Agent Sanguinius never got to complete his sentence, as Gadget?s hand came sharply down on the back of his neck, leaving him unconscious on the lab floor. ?Phase One programming activated.? Moving out of the lab Gadget headed for the nearest elevator, he?d already hacked into the CTU computer network and knew that Grape Ape was in his office. SAME TIME, GRAPE APE?S OFFICE ?Then let the infidel be judged. Prime the generators.? Grape and the rest of the CTU staff watched with a muted horror as Charlie Bin Laden prepared to execute their fellow agent Janus. The commander?s knuckles had gone white from the intensity with which he had balled his hands into fists. Crystia was shielding Fluff?s eyes, while Starbucks, Wanderlust, Webster, Throne and the others looked on without word. None of them had been aware of their mission, save Grape Ape himself, and he knew there wasn?t a damn thing he could do about it. ?May Jenovah punish him for all eternity then, throw the switch? There were a dozen different reactions as they watched Gavin?s execution, tears, gasps and prayers. Grape himself said nothing, inside he could only blame himself for the death of one of his oldest friends. ?Turn it off.? The rage in Throne?s voice was clear as he watched the Terrorist?s cheer at Janus?s apparent death. As he was about to shut off the monitor, the most awful laughter he had ever heard poured out, it was mocking and threatening at the same time, and worst of all, it was Gavin?s. He watched in an even more pronounced horror as the Irishman?s head raised slowly up again and began to speak, outlining how the agent that had apparently returned to CTU was not human at all, but a modified Terrorist OtakuBot... instantly he thought of Gadget. ?Goodbye Charlie? Then the monitor filled with static. ?This is Grape Ape, all personnel be advised, Agent Gadget is to be viewed as a hostile and be captured on sight. Repeat detain Agent Gadget, that is an order.? ?No need.? The purple simian watched as Gadget walked calmly through the doors of Grape Ape?s office. Thone attempted to tackle him, but a sharp strike to the jaw sent him flying against the wall. The android sat down in the now unoccupied chair in front of the commander and allowed him the first words. ?Gavin ?? ?Indeed? ?Why ?? But in reality he already knew the answer. ?Because you couldn?t. But more than that, it?s because I?m not the Gavin you knew so many years ago. Early on when I was working with Charles, he developed a virus that he believed would destroy all those who opposed it. He hoped that it would cause people to hate CTU and only accept his reign, because of it?s intentions to destroy the fabric of OtakuBoards, he called it the ?KUJA? virus...? Josh exhaled derisively. Gavin merely continued. ?I had earned enough trust to get to work on the base level of the project. Unfortunately Charlie believed that all his followers would be immune to the effects of the virus because they had made the conscious choice to follow him... you can see where the problem lay with me. The fact I was a mole meant I was not consciously loyal to him, so when I was used as test subject, there was a distinct side effect.? ?What side effect ?? ?Put simply, I developed a hatred for everything in relation to OtakuBoards. As a CTU agent I was dedicated to destroying the Terrorists, and after being exposed to the KUJA virus I became dedicated to destroying CTU and Otaku City. I became obsessed with destroying everything, terrorists, CTU and normal people. I couldn?t fight what I became, so I embraced it. And now thanks to you and Charlie, I?m one step closer to achieving my goal.? ?Your new codename was rather apt then...? Janus/Gadget merely smiled. ?Goodbye Josh? |||||||||| For what happens after ?Goodbye Josh, check out the Terrorist thread.

Warning, this post may exceed the PG rating of the thread is some places. I?ve tried to keep is as close as possible, but for the purposes of storytelling, some parts may require a little more detail to be believable, you guys are after all terrorists. I can?t imagine you?d shirk away from torture if you?d plant suitcase nukes in civilian buildings and landmarks. |||||||||| Janus woke in a cold sweat, he couldn?t believe he?d been stupid enough to leave his guard down in front of her of all people. His hands were numb, each of them cuffed to an opposite wall of the cell. The room was pitch dark, but he could hear breathing in the distance, about ten feet from him, three different creatures by the sound of it. Two of them were feral dogs judging by the intermittent growls and sniffing, Rai had no doubt been starving them for days in the hope she might be able to feed something, or someone to them. In retrospect it was one aspect of her personality he certainly found disquieted him. The other was recognisable by any terrorist, he?d even had the twisted honour of being able to watch Charles feed a brother who?d failed a relatively minor mission to it for his own amusement, it served to be a lesson for anyone who would fail their terrorist leader. He couldn?t force his way out of the cage or the chains, and from the feel of it, he?d been stripped of everything bar his torn stealth suit which meant the lock was now likely in Charles? possession. He could hear the Beast sniffing in his direction. It?s strength would allow it to easily break the bars surrounding him and rip the veteran agent to shreds, it seems a rather ignominious end to a life he?d never particularly wanted. In the end, he?d have been happy with the two storey house with a big garden and a white picket fence, a wife and two kids and a pet dog. The sniffing became noticeably louder, the ground shook slightly as the hulking blue monstrosity moved closer to the cage, it?s breath was hot and caused Janus to gag, large droplets of drool fell between his feet. It was close enough now to see the eyes, blood red and hungering for flesh. ?Are you prepared ?? The gravelly voice sounded like stones being grated against one another, it?s immense hand moved into the cage, brushing up against Janus?s face. He made no sound, and there was only a look of acceptance on his face... Light suddenly burst into the chamber from the solid steel door, the Beast roared in anger but as Charles entered the room it merely stood quiet and acquiescent. He walked calmly up to the cage as the Beast shuffled back to it?s original standing spot. He surveyed Gavin with a fervent grin across his lips, an equally mad glint was ever present in his eyes. He was holding what appeared to be a cattle prod, though knowing Charles as Janus did, it was most certainly more dangerous than it appeared. ?So the infidel Grape sends Judas Iscariot back into my flock in the hope of doing what ?? He voice was even, there was a hint of pleasure of being able to question the man he regarded as one of it?s greatest traitors. The question trailed off, as he wanted for an answer. ?Just get it over with, I won?t betray him.? A curt response, he watched a barely checked fury explode onto Charlie?s face, he stabbed forward with the cattle prod into Janus? side, pain exploded like nothing he?d ever felt before, and he screamed in agony. The prod struck him a further two times on different parts of his body, each time Janus screamed. ?Answer the question Judas, and I shall make sure your death is less painful than this.? He was lying, his death was going to be as painful as Charlie could make it. ?Special Agent Gavin... Counter Terrorist Unit of Otaku City... Serial number 1582... Joined December 11th 2001...? His voice was emotionless, he would not give up the information. ?UNCHAIN HIM !! And have him brought to the main chamber ! I will make an example of him for every infidel who would dare oppose us...? Rai stood to Charlie?s right and released his left hand, it fell limp by his side, had Gavin had even a mite of control over it, he?d have throttled the life her there and then. He was dragged slowly into the large open chamber Charlie used to preach his rhetoric to his spiritual army. He spotted the newest addition to the room instantly, an old style electric chair set in the dead centre. Gavin tried to struggle free of his captors grip, but he was just too weak. At that moment, all he could think about was where Ploppy and Sour Candy were. He was forced into the chair, shackled and blindfolded, he tried to breathe normally, but instinct had overcome his training and breaths came hard and fast as sweat droplets formed on his brow. Charlie?s voice took on it?s usual calm and eloquent tone. ?Brothers and sisters, welcome. I present for you all, the traitor Gavin, a man of such powerful deceit that he worked his way into my inner circle as one of my most trusted allies.... but who?s true purpose was to act as a spy for the infidels of the CTU as they tried to bring our noble Jihad to an end.? His voice trailed off in an almost contemplative manner before he continued. ?Foolishly he has returned, armed and armoured by the CTU for what I can only surmise was my own assassination. Through the wiles of Rai he was captured, and now we shall all witness Jenovah?s divine wrath as we put him to death. Cheers erupted from all around him. Charlie?s hand moved up to silence his followers. ?...But it shall also serve as a message to the infidels as we broadcast his execution to the wider world.? More cheering erupted, Janus could make out the voices of several people he?d known, he imagined any of them would more than happily slit his throat now. ?The cameras are ready Master, we?ve managed to hack into Otaku City?s transmitters, the traitor?s death will play on every channel until we decide otherwise.? Mike?s voice was unmistakable, evidently he shared no loyalty to the one who had trained him. ?Then let the infidel be judged. Prime the generator.? ?Wait.? ?For what Rai ?? There was a hint of displeasure in Charlie?s voice. ?I would like to give the traitor a parting gesture master, as a token of the end of our marriage.? ?Very well, let it be said I am merciful even to infidel traitors of the highest order.? Rai?s hand brushed across his face, her skin was as smooth as he remember. Her lips met his for only an instant before being withdrawn. She laughed and then struck his face, seemed their relationship was over. He made no response, he wouldn?t give her the satisfaction this time. ?Capacitors are charged Master.? ?May Jenovah punish him for all eternity then. Throw the switch.? As he spoke more and more of his fanatical glee wormed into his speech. Electricity coursed into Gavin?s body, he screamed and writhed, his body shaking uncontrollably. The terrorists around him hooted and cheered, then after several seconds Janus? head slumped forward. Rai moved into to check his pulse, after a moment she smiled and nodded to Charlie. What followed was almost deafening as the terrorists? shouted in triumph. Charlie only laughed, but the laugh was long and maniacal, prodding the agent?s fallen body with the cattle prod to ensure he was truly dead. When he seemed satisfied he turned and addressed the gathered terrorists. ?DURKA, DURKA, MOHAMMAD JIHAD !!!!? The crowd was silent, contemplative of the prayer Charlie had just offered to their patron deity. Then the silence was broken by a horrible cackle, it was deep and sinister and as Charlie watched in rapt horror, Gavin?s head raised itself again and his voice echoed out in an ethereal tone. ?So you think you?ve won ?? More laughter, several of the closest terrorists had moved away from the body. ?You are a fool Charlie, you and Grape Ape alike, and I shall enjoy watching this final look of confusion on your face when your bones have turned to dust... You see this isn?t my body, in fact I?ve been using this Otakubot duplicate for years...? The look of horror on Charlie?s face now mingled with unbridled rage, but more than that he truly was afraid because he understood exactly why Gavin was laughing at him. He?d assigned him the Otakubot program years ago in the hope they?d be able to infiltrate CTU and destroy it from within, and in each of those models had been incorporated a tiny fission reactor, like the suitcase bombs they?d used. Normally they were unpowered, but if enough electricity was poured into the Otakubot body then... ?Goodbye Charlie.? UNKNOWN COORDINATES ?You did not leave me that much time to escape the blast Gavin.? ?I knew you wouldn?t need it. Besides we had to make it look as real as possible to avoid suspicion.? Gavin smiled at his accomplice?s anger. The white half mask of joy currently covering the left side, his associate merely continued. ?I assume the attack on CTU went according to plan ?? His eyes narrowed in suspicion. ?Naturally. Grape Ape?s expression was rather more sombre than Charlie?s, but I think it went as well as could be expected. The rubble of CTU headquarters is all over the news, unfortunately they?re not releasing details on the news yet.? ?Very well. I shall contact you again later brother, so we may continue to Phase 2.? ?Understood.? Standing silently on the cliffs overlooking Otaku City, Gavin merely smiled. Soon it would all be over. |||||||||| Well I?m certainly glad to get that out of the way. If you?re a tad confused, consult Charles for the details, but suffice to say, Final Quest for Glory 2 is no longer a two team act.

Embarrassing & Yet Fun Things That You Do

If you're a Star Wars fan, pick up Rouge Squadron: Rebel Strike and Jedi Outcast, the latter being a fairly decent FPS, though as you get further along the story you will inevitably stick to using your lightsaber and growing Force powers. All that said, it features Kyle Katarn, the Chuck Norris of the New Jedi Order. ;) That said, I agree with Blue Jihad, OOT pwns TWW. Haven't played TP yet so I can't give an opinion there.

Writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Otakupedia Entries/Suggestions/Discussion thread
Gavin replied to Charles's topic in General Discussion
Deathknight ran with the idea and casually suggested that they could form a taskforce that would go about "wtfpwning crime" on OtakuBoards, and thus, Super Otaku Force was born. A force consisting of, at it's peak, 10 members. They were; John, Deathknight, White, Sangome, Illikon Retribution, Revelation, SunfallE and Lunox. This includes Gavin, who claimed the spot of the disembodied master, existing inside a giant tube. This is somewhat lessened if I happen to be wearing my glasses, which I do 90% of the time, as honestly I'm scared to death of contact lenses.
